“At Skansen, you can discover Sweden’s history and find out how Swedes once lived according to the changing seasons, through the customs and traditions, work, celebrations and everyday life of times gone by. This is also a place where festive occasions are celebrated throughout the year. The lively programme of activities includes singing, dancing and concerts in the summer, and Christmas markets in the winter with dancing around the Christmas tree and concerts at Seglora Church. Skansen is a unique place where history meets the present day, where Swedish traditions and craftsmanship live on, and where people of all ages come together. This is the world’s only open-air museum with wild animals. Here you can see Nordic wildlife, rare breeds, pets and exotic creatures. The Children’s Zoo features domestic animals such as cats, rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as small wild animals. The Skansen Aquarium and Our Africa feature exotic animals including monkeys, birds, reptiles and insects. ”

Theme Park
“Gröna Lund amusement park features most attractions common to amusement parks, such as a tunnel of love, a fun house and seven roller coasters. Gröna Lund is also known for its rock and pop music concerts; the capacity record is held by Bob Marley, who attracted 32,000 people in 1980;[4] it was his third performance at the venue, after stints in 1977 and 1978. The record is unbeatable since new regulations prevent such large audiences at Gröna Lund. American rapper Nas performed with almost 22,000 people in 2010. The park is easily accessible by tram #7, bus #67 and by ferry from the city centre. Its central location allows visitors to view large parts of Stockholm from the taller attractions.”

“Modern Art Museum (Moderna Museet) collects, preserves, shares and exhibits modern and contemporary art. It opened in 1958, when modern art from the early 20th century and photography from 1840 and onwards was moved from the Nationalmuseum into a former navy drill hall on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm. The current building was completed in 1998, adjoining the old museum premises, and is designed by the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo. Moderna Museet also opened in Malmö in 2009. Moderna Museet is one of Europe’s leading museums of modern and contemporary art. Our vision is to continue to work in the open and experimental spirit for which Moderna Museet has always been known. The presence of the art and the artists is our key concern, along with our dialogue with an actively participating audience. By developing this interaction, we build a Museum for the future.”
