“An excellent friendly bistro situated in the heart of Stoke Fleming and just a few minutes walk from the cottage. They use suppliers and producers in locally caught fish, seafood, meats & vegetables from within a 7 mile radius of the restaurant and have a lunch or evening menu with a specials board. A beautiful light interior with sea views, If you fancy an apperitif or just a drink, a Cocktail bar is available and on some nights live acoustic music.”

“Just a few minutes walk from the cottage is located our historic village pub - older than the church opposite. They have a great selection of local ales and cider, bar snacks and a surprisingly broad and generous restaurant menu with some fantastic home made puddings. Friday fish 'n' chip night is pretty good value and very popular. There is a beer garden and occaisonally live music.”

“Large stunning pebble beach (NO DOGS) - park behind cafe if going in cafe for breakfast - free parking. Otherwise you have to pay to park. Go here after Dartmouth. Can drive further to Slapton Sands which is dog friendly with pub on beach, if you have a dog.”

“A real life saver in the village and just a few minutes walk down the high street. Open 7 days a week and well stocked with essentials including groceries, fresh bread, confectionary, magazines, newspapers and wines and spirits. There is a post office inside and post box outside. There is even a take away hot drinks service available from the counter. Open Daily 08:00 - 17:30 (Saturday 08:30 - 15:00, Sunday 09:00 - 15:00) Post office services 09:00 - 17:30 (Saturday 09:00 - 12:30, Sunday closed)”

“This friendly village store do a roaring trade in freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries. Just don't leave it too late in the day. Their west country butter is divine and a nightmare for good intentions! Newspapers, postcards and Post Office facilities too. ”
