“A beautiful moderate to difficult Maine hike in Evans Notch through the Caribou-Speckled Mountain Wilderness. It is about a 1 hour 15 minute drive to the mountain up gorgeous Rt. 113 and a 5 hour round trip hike covering 6.2 miles. Be sure to take our White Mountain Guide and maps with you. I like the Spruce Hill Trail to the Bickford Brook Trail to the summit of Speckled Mountain. Bring plenty of water, food, good hiking shoes, a rain coat and a warm layer. It's a peaceful hike.”

“Horseshoe Pond Trail is a wide/grassy forest path. It crosses many log bridges through wet areas and offers the view of Horseshoe Pond, Pearl Ponds, Indian Mountain, and other natural sceneries. This is one of the most famous local hikes in this area.”

“A short and easy hike (around 1 hour) from Deer Hill Road brings you to the spring with air bubbles rising through a patch of sand. The locals treat this Spring as local treasure and try to clean up the debris from trees/leaves on a regular basis.”
