Stadium
“The home of Sunderland AFC! My favourite team! Go and watch a match if there is one on when you are here. We will probably lose because we aren't very good but don't let that put you off, it hasn't put me off in 30 years :-) Also high profile concerts take place here in the summer. Beyoncé, Rihanna, Take That, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Oasis, One Direction and many more have been here over the years.”

Establishment
“The only place in the North East to see the London West End shows on tour. There is nearly always a great event on at this beautiful historic theatre and it is well worth a visit.”

Cinema
“Empire Cinema is a good place to go if you want to catch a basic 2D or 3D movie. The prices are the cheapest I'm aware of in the area and even cheaper again on Tuesdays with tickets only £4 each. If you park in the adjoining Sunniside Multistory car park, parking is free when you visit the cinema or any of the other establishments surrounding the car park including the bowling alley and restaurants. Just remember to get your ticket validated before you leave whichever place you are visiting.”

Restaurant
“Aiming for a more 'up market' feel, the Salt House Kitchen serves an interesting and frequently-changing menu, with sea-food playing a big role. Think Sea Reared Trout with Curried Mussels, or Steak with Beetroot-infused Octopus. A three course meal is likely to be around £35-£40 per head, excluding drinks.”

“Lovely park near the beach. Watch out for the fantastic illuminations between September and November each year.”
