“Aiming for a more 'up market' feel, the Salt House Kitchen serves an interesting and frequently-changing menu, with sea-food playing a big role. Think Sea Reared Trout with Curried Mussels, or Steak with Beetroot-infused Octopus. A three course meal is likely to be around £35-£40 per head, excluding drinks.”

“For a busier night out start here in Revolution and then go on to any of the dozens of other bars in this area of the city. This is the nightlife hotspot area of Sunderland which is a great night out!”

“With their own distillery, you have to try their own-brand gin! Otherwise get tucked into their excellent selection of cocktails, ales and craft beers! The outdoor terrace is very popular in good weather!”

“Small upmarket bar amongst a couple of others upmarket bars. Go here if you don't fancy the hustle and bustle of the main city centre area. There are some nice restaurants in this area too.”

“The Harvester is another good quality pub style restaurant serving similar food to the Fountain. Differences include the unlimited salad bar and the bar area is mostly used for having drink whilst waiting to be seated or after people have finished there meal. This gives it more of a restaurant atmosphere than the Fountain.”
