Argentinian Restaurant
“For a special night out, when I crave seafood or surf and turf, we go to Asado on 6th Ave. It is a Argentine-themed steakhouse with some fantastic wines. One of my favorite dishes in Tacoma is the stuffed Pork Chop. It is incredible! Asado has won the best of Western WA's Best Latin American Restaurants for the past 6 years.”

Mexican Restaurant
“I crave the Matador on cold winter days. Not just the Mexican style food that get's your blood pumping! But also the dime lights, fire by the bar where friends gather and delicious margarita on the rocks. Their selection of tequila is also impressive and will keep you warm. 😉 A fun date night location and happening spot on Friday and Saturday night. ”

“Here for work travel and need a place to do some computer work for a few hours? Bluebeard Coffee is a spacious coffee shop with more seating that many other coffee roasters. On the corner of 6th and State Street. My favorite; the nitro brew. ☕️ ”

Coffee Shop
“An iconic Tacoma Bar. In fact, it's the oldest in Tacoma! That alone is a reason to check it out. Serving local beer, bar food and local Valhalla Coffee. There is one pool table and dart board and their weekend calendar is often filled with local bands and artists who create a very lively night scene! Bring your dancing shoes and willingness to meet some locals, The Spar is a fun place to be on most Friday and Saturday nights. ”

Café
“Despite how busy Valhalla Coffee is, you can expect your drink to be made to perfection EVERY. TIME. So be patient if you come at peak hours! Very few sitting spots and tables are small. Don't expect this to be a quiet place to work, it's usually buzzing with warm greetings and friends saying 'hello'. Bold and delicious coffee, just across the street from Sushi Tama; the best Sushi restaurant in Tacoma! ”

Bakery
“Cheapest, best Mexican food this side of the border. This is a true, family-owned Mexican bakery. They have everything from tres leches (thick chocolate cake), to amazing tortas (sandwiches), to fresh-squeezed juice. We highly recommend the Hawaiiana or Deliciosa as far as tortas are concerned. If you're a carnivore with a big stomach, you can't go wrong with the Alambre (which translates to "the hunger" in Spanish). Seriously, this place is so excellent and so cheap, you won't believe it. If you can overlook the somewhat run-down appearance, you won't regret eating here.”
