  • My husband and I needed a place to spend the night after a long day of exploring Capitol Reef and the other scenic areas in this part of Utah. This charming motel was just perfect: Spacious, clean room, gleaming bathroom, and easy to find with Linda's directions. The wifi was fast and reliable, and we always felt like Linda and Colin would be easy to reach if we needed anything. If you stay here, you will feel immersed in this very special part of Utah. Highly recommend!

  • Linda's place is isolated, gorgeous, and accommodating! Checking in and getting in touch was easy. The ranch is picturesque and relaxing. Would definitely stay again!

  • This is a real (small, 4 room) hotel, so we did not meet the hostess. But her manager greeted us. The room was spacious, the window opened for fresh air, and it was definitely quiet on the ranch. All the restaurants are 8 miles away in Torrey, but we enjoyed being "off the beaten path."

    Kate2015-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Beautiful. Clean. Incredible views and very quiet. Grass for play and picnics.

    joy2013-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Didn't get to meet Linda, but was able to check in around 9pm and had a nice stay. The place isn't hard to miss, I found it easy enough even with a GPS. The room and bathroom were very large, so we had plenty of space. Everything was clean and neatly organised. We had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room which was a great extra too. Would recommend Linda's place to someone visiting the national parks in the area like we did.

    Kelly2014-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • My experience at the Cactus Hill Motel was great! It was affordable, clean, and a short drive (about 10 minutes) to Capitol Reef, where we spent most of our time. I would highly recommend it!

  • Can't really miss in this part of Utah! Our stay was simple and great. Excellent price, good-sized room, quiet. Perfect.

Sweet, comfortable, two bedroom cabin. Sweeping views of redrock and mountains. Elevation 7100. Hardwood maple floors, wood stove. No TV. No kitchen, exactly, but most cooking needs metQuiet. Take morning/evening walks in our little hamlet/neighborhood. Wifi. Day hikes in Capitol Reef Park. Amazing star gazing at night. Local park a block away.
Newish two bedroom cabin. Sweeping views of redrock and mountains. Elevation 7100. Hardwood maple floors, wood stove. Cooking/eating amenities include: small fridge, microwave, burners, coffeemaker, electric hot water maker, toaster, pots & pans, dishes, utensils. 1 bedroom - queen & 1 bedroom - 2 singles (very comfortable beds). Down comforters. No TV. Decent internet access - streaming works fine. The cabin sits about 50 ft from the main house. You can have as much privacy as you like, or come by for a cup of tea, when we're in town. Teasdale is a beautiful little hamlet of about 150 people, right next to Torrey, UT which sits on the edge of Capitol Reef National Park. The high elevation means it is usually delightful weather in the summer, no need for air conditioning. Mid-June through mid-July is bright and sunny in the 70s and low 80s, typically. In later July and mid-August is the monsoon season, so we typically have thunder showers in the afternoon/early evening with spectacular cloud displays. Capitol Reef Park is full of hiking trails and on the western edge of the Four Corners Region. It is one of the lesser known national parks because everyone heads to Arches, Bryce and Zion (which makes us happy since it keeps the numbers of visitors down). What people often don't know is that Arches and Zion are lower in elevation and really hot mid-summer - while we are quite comfortable! No pets in the cabin. We have 1 very precious, polite dog, Lucy. She is always in our fenced in yard or in the main house. This is a very bucolic, rural area. The main grocery store is 17 miles away in Loa, UT. In the summer in Torrey, from April thru October, there is "The Chuck Wagon" open everyday, where you can get necessities, basic foods. There is 1 liquor store in the county, in Bicknell about 7 miles away - again not open on Sundays. You can get beer at The Chuck Wagon, though.
Our little hamlet of 150-200 people is beautiful, off the main road, great for morning or evening walks. Has a nice park with swings and jungle gym for kids.
  • Very quiet area, looking out to the Capital Reef mountains. Pam was very nice and quick to respond when we needed additional towels and bathroom items. Clean, peaceful living space.

    kimberly2014-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Pam Dupuy is undoubtedly the most accommodating hostess I have ever encountered. So many other people would not be as considerate.

    Rachel2013-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time, everything was as advertised and was a great location for our adventures in Capitol reef! We all enjoyed it.

    Cliff2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house is so comfortable, views are astounding, and had all that I needed. Thanks for the hospitality and for sharing your space!

    Chris2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, 9 month old son, and I stayed here this weekend and it was fantastic! Pam responded quickly and though she was out of town she had her helper get everything ready for us. The cabin is INCREDIBLY cozy and comfortable. There are space heaters in each room as well as a wood burning stove that makes it extra cozy (there was even kindling and paper in there all ready to go so all we had to do was light a match!). Beds are comfortable and we slept great- the area is incredibly quiet and the view of the stars at night is amazing. It has fanstistic views of red rock cliffs right from the cabin and the porch is great to sit on and read during the afternoon. There is a grocery store about 20 minutes away (and during the winter months the area has very few places to eat that are open) so make sure you bring some snacks and drinks to keep in the small fridge in the cabin. Couldn't be happier with the stay- furniture is comfortable, a lot of thought has clearly been put into furnishing and decorating the place. Highly recommended.

    Aimee2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pam's cottage was exactly as advertised and more. Impeccably clean and beautifully peaceful, its location in Teasdale offers stunning views, great running roads (with only the cows for company) and reasonable access to restaurants and groceries (in Torrey, Bicknell and Loa). We came for the fishing and really enjoyed meeting Pam and John. Their hospitality included a lovely evening of drinks, snacks and enthusiastic conversation. We'll be back!

    Mary Beth2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay. Great location, quiet, very clean, nicely decorated. I will be back for another restorative overwhelmingly beautiful stay in one of the most beautiful places on earth/

    Maeera2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Pam & John's cabin. The cabin was very cute, clean and cozy. We loved the wood burning stove and the big fluffy comfortable bed. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet our hosts as they were out of town, but Pam was very prompt at answering all my emails. We spent a lovely day exploring the surrounding area and loved having a comfortable place to come back to. I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling through the area!

    Teasdale Retreat Cabin
    99 reviews
If you are seeking a quiet peaceful getaway, this is your place. Teasdale is located minutes from Capitol Reef National Park and Boulder Mountain. You can play all day and come to your home away from home and relax in a beautiful setting.
It is in a very peaceful small town. But only minutes to Torrey, where you can find dining, general store, country bar and dancing.
Quiet town and friendly neighbors. Take a stoll and checkout beautiful yards. There is a house made of bottles 2 blocks away. It hasn't been lived in for a long time. But is very unique.
  • Capitol Reef is close by, rural setting is very peaceful and relaxing after exploring the national park. Sheri is the most thoughtful host.Highly recommend.

    Lynne2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time enjoying the surrounding areas. We especially enjoyed being able to come back to a clean and comfortable house that is well stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and then some. We enjoyed using both porches. We hope to return soon.

    Eileen2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived at the house, everything was perfect. Sheri thought of every detail - providing toothpaste, shampoo, plenty of blankets, and extra towels. We ate all of our meals at the house and the kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary cooking tools. The weather was unseasonably warm for the first two days and we sat on the back deck enjoying the beautiful yard and scenery. By the third day, a winter coat was needed; however, Sheri came to the rescue and left kindling on the porch (there was plenty of wood already cut) so we could start a fire. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this cozy country getaway and will definitely book again on our next visit to Capitol Reef.

    Laurie2016-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and near many beautiful outdoor activities.

    TED2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sheri was great to work with! The place was clean and spacious and close to all of the things we wanted to do and see during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

    Emily2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • If you go in the winter, remember to pack lots of food. There are few restaurants open, and the grocery store is 12 miles away. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, however.

    Chris2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very comfortable and well placed for exploring the area. Sheri provided everything we needed and more, including muffins for breakfast! She is also a great communicator, answering messages quickly. When our flight got changed to later, Sheri left the lights on for us to easily find the house. My only negative is that light sleepers may be bothered by a neighbor's rooster, which though not overly loud, was bothersome until I slept with my earbuds in.

    Joe2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked in at the end of a quiet street in a very small town, the house is quaint, welcoming and surrounded by trees and nicely kept landscaping. Part of the house is a nice example of original local mountain cabins with the rest a bit more modern addition. We were greeted with a lovely bowl of blueberry bread, cookies and popcorn. The house was clean and well kept. There are lovely porches/patios on three sides. The kitchen is nice and fairly large with an island. The master suite has a huge bedroom space that could easily accommodate a twin air bed or two if you need spots for kiddos. There is a separate shower/tub in the suite. The other two bedrooms are basic, but acceptable. The third bedroom is accessed through the second. This is a bit inconvenient if the person in the third room has to get up during the night, etc. Bring ear plugs if you are a light and late sleeper. There is a rooster and dog next door that beckon morning. We live on a farm so this is part of life for us. The flock of sheep across the drive emphasized the beautiful views of the red rock vistas. Overall, this is a great place to stay. We enjoyed our stay in this sleepy little town and would gladly stay there again.

My place is close to Capitol Reef National Park. You’ll love my place because of the night sky and outdoor activities. My place is good for families (with kids) and big groups.
  • We will for sure be coming back to this home! Anyone who wants a great lodging value in and around the Capitol Reef National Park or Fish Lake area should book this beautiful home. It's a true gem in the middle of nowhere! I have stayed in many vacation homes around the world using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and Airbnb and this home is exceptional in many ways and most of all AFFORDABLE!!! All of the hikers in our group said they would all recommend this home to their friends and family. It's an easy home to love! Just a short 15 minute drive to Capitol Reef National Park and very accommodating for a group! Thank you so much Matt!!!

  • Our choice to stay in Matthew's place in Teasdale was an excellent one. The house clean, comfortable and included everything we needed and much more. The location was convenient to the things we wanted to see and do in the area. Mathew was an excellent host and communicated quickly to all of our correspondences. We would highly recommend this house, especially for those travelling with a larger, mixed group.

Secluded setting on the Fremont River. Walk-in basement apt. w/4 large windows--no stairs--overlooking the river. We've tried to think of everything you might need. Deck has a gas BBQ, table & chairs. Bathroom w/2-seater shower, kitchen fully equipped & stocked with some basic food items; flat screen TV & WiFi. At 7000 ft elev., nights are blissfully cool. House is on 2 acres and the river attracts coyotes, deer, birds, ducks, and muskrats.
As you can see from the photos, we are set back about half a mile from Hwy 24. The property is set on the Fremont River to the south and red rock cliffs to the north. The river is small by eastern, or European standards, but it maintains a host of wildlife.
Torrey is one of the sweetest, prettiest, tiniest western towns you're likely to see. We love it here. No close neighbors but close to town and the national park. There is only one liquor store in the county -- it's in Bicknell, 8 miles west of us.
  • This truly is peaceful and quiet. I walked up to the main house level to watch the sunset on the red rocks, enjoyed my talk with Jan and Paul, then was amazed by the sky full of stars from the apartment's patio. This the most fully equipped apartment I have been to. I wish I had planned to stay longer.

    Maureen2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous place to stay, roomy, very comfortable and a fully equipped kitchen, even binoculars provided to spot the local wildlife (we saw beavers on the riverbank) and of course the amazing stars at night. Jan and Paul are excellent hosts and we enjoyed meeting them. We loved the location just outside Torrey and found it easily. Our only sadness was that we only had one night! I would definitely recommend this place but stay several nights, you wont regret it!

    Anne2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very nice and clean. Jan's house is beautiful and the view is amazing. On top of that both she and Kassie are amazing. I hit a deer on the way to Jan's place. Both were both concerned and went out of there way to help me (a total stranger) late at night. I can't express my how grateful I am for what they did. Their hospitality was the best. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to the area!

    Steph2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space! As described. Spacious and many amenities for our use. We stayed one quick night but would return. Thanks!

    Jackie2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Truly enjoyed having this whole space to myself. I am pretty reclusive and never felt bothered or out of place. Very quiet and tranquil setting. I appreciated the variety of guidebooks to peruse and learn about the area. The cool spring water provided in the fridge was perfect to fill my water bottles with before a long day of hiking.

    Mike2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described. Peace and quiet when we arrived. Apartment was clean and welcoming. Perfect place to come home to after a long day of sight-seeing and hiking the beautiful areas around Torrey, UT. Jan greeted us as we drove-up to the house and let us know that she was available for any requests or questions. Information in the apartment was appreciated as it let us know of area restaurants, groceries, and things to do.

    Adam2016-07-23T00:00:00Z

  • Fabulous house in a great location near the national park A very beautiful place, very quiet and well equipped stephen was an excellent host, we'd stay there again

    matt2014-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen was an excellent host. He was helpful in suggesting restaurants, hikes etc... The home is amazing and secluded. We enjoyed the fantastic views from the roof top deck and watching the free roaming cows pass through the property. The location is great and an easy 15 or so minute drive to Capitol Reef Park. I would highly recommend this for a getaway.

    Romana2014-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • I loved everything about this property. The house was clean, well maintained and gorgeous. It exceeded all of our expectations. Stephen was really fast about answering emails and was a great Airbnb host. This is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at.

    Maegan2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet, off the grid home!! WIFI for those who can't not get away. Music system throughout house with power on and volume control in all rooms, patio and even on the rooftop!! Amazing kitchen with gas inside and outside grill too. Pitch black at night amazing for rooftop star gazing. Rooftop also great for morning yoga which is great after hiking many miles around surrounding area, as is the jetted tub in the master bath. Worth the stay is you want simple, classy, off the grid with close access to outdoors!!!

    Jeff2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect retreat for decompressing. The house is well-situated, superbly designed and has enough acreage to explore and feel sufficiently secluded. Epic rooftop panoramas for landscape viewing and stargazing, pervasive indoor-outdoor music system, and clean rustic modern living. A place to breathe and be.

    Patrick2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Another great visit to this beautiful house in this beautiful area. We had a perfect Thanksgiving with lots of solitude as well as a communal Thanksgiving dinner table fit for kings and queens at Hell's Backbone Grill. Thank you!

    Shaleane2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • My father, brother and I just spent a week at Stephen's house! It was ideal for exploration of the area, and a perfect place to relax after a day of hiking. It is secluded, has huge panorama windows and a porch to take in the scenery. The whole area actually feels rather secluded and secret, compared to other Utah highlights like Zion or Bryce canyon - the lack of tourists (for now) is great! The house is very open and airy, feels modern and is tastefully decorated. We were all quite impressed by the house upon arrival - the pictures you see here are nice, but they don't do it justice! A really great destination if you want to get away from the crowds and just relax in serene surroundings for a little while. We all hope to return someday!

Vintage two story cabin on 5 acres.. Years of remodeling, but never losing the charm of all the wood and re purposed building products. Cabin is full of antiques and books. Our love for heritage plants, trees, flowers and big black boulders is everywhere in the landscape. Property is home to many deer, birds, chipmunks, rabbits which we gladly share and hope you enjoy.
A long winding driveway offers privacy and ample parking space. Folks with motorcycles, cars or bicycles have access to a covered parking area. There is special parking for folks with horse trailers and other recreation vehicles on request. We are always available in person or by telephone (435-491-0026) also there is an extensive cabin handbook in the cabin. There are many brochures and extensive articles and books about the area also in the cabin. The cabin was built about 35 years ago, but has a rustic appearance. We have added two new trex type decks in the last few years along with many other features. The best entrance is the backporch, which is closest to the parking. There is a small mudroom with lots of room for extra clothes, boots, coolers and backpacks. This connects to the kitchen, although small.. it packs lots of cabinets and places to store kitchen needs. It is fully stocked with all kinds of pots, pans, dishes, silverwear, towels.. Plus, a wonderful view out the window to the East and the Henry Mountains.. The kitchen is open to the dining room which has a round table and can seat 4 or with the leaf 6. There are tablecloths and napkins to match the season or your taste. Kitchen connects to the living room which has both a leather sofa and love seat along with matching ottoman. There are several lamps for reading. There is a television and a Cd/Radio in the living room area. WIFI signal is throughout the house and folks often stream movies from Amazon and Netflex. The stairwell to the second floor is narrow, but enclosed with handrail. At the top of the stairs is another bookshelf with even more books for your enjoyment. There are two bedrooms upstairs, the master has one queen bed with a small deck facing the Boulder Mountains and South. A Dormer window to the East lets you know when the sun is coming up, but there is a nice drape in case you want to sleep in. A larger TV is in the master bedroom. There is a door from the master to the bathroom which is shared by the other bedroom with its own entry door. The upstairs bathroom has a vintage claw foot bath tub and a lavender sink and toilet. There is lots of counter space and tons of towels. Because the bathroom is in the sloping eve, the headroom slants low for tall folks.. The other upstairs bedroom has two twin beds and is decorated with lots of vintage hats and petty coats. Two windows face West. The cabin is exactly one mile from the center of Torrey. This is an easy walk or bike to the Torrey Post Office, general store, art galleries and several restaurants.
The cabin is sited on 5 acres with lots of native trees and plant. Yet, it is only a mile to the center of Torrey. Highway 24 is about a block away, but noise is not an issue. The Chuck wagon general Country store is in the center of town and offers all kinds of food including almost anything you might have forgotten. They also have a Deli with a few booths where you can enjoy breakfast or lunch.
  • Reda was great! She reached out to us a couple of weeks before our stay and then again a few days before we arrived to make sure we were all set and had directions to get to the cabin. I called her on our way down to inquire about a couple of things and she answered right away. We had a fabulous time at the (URL HIDDEN) was exactly what we needed. I had planned a girls weekend with over the holiday (Memorial Day) weekend and her cute cabin was perfect for us. The cabin is really conveniently located in Torrey and we walked to the Chuckwagon several times to get snacks and stock up on supplies. It is also just a short drive to the entrance of the park. We spent most of our time at Capitol Reef exploring and hiking but loved our evenings on her deck with our appetizers, wine and sangria! We grilled steaks one night and cooked all of our breakfasts. The kitchen had everything we needed. We spent the nights star gazing both in the park as well as in the yard. Capitol Reef has some of the darkest night skies so it's the perfect place to get lost in the stars. I highly recommend this cute little cabin and would stay again the next time we're in the area!

    Allison2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming rustic cabin for hiking Capital Reef. Cozy upstairs master bedroom is a delight - great mattress and bedding. If over 6 ft tall, duck from the sloping 4x6 ceiling beams :)

    Craig2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Reda maintained excellent contact with us before, during and after our stay, even to ship back an item that was left behind. Her cabin is quirky and funky in all the best senses, basic, nothing fancy but with everything we needed for comfort and convenience. Its location on a quiet, dead-end road just outside Capitol Reef NP afforded great access to the hiking we went there for, while providing a cozy, quiet retreat at the end of the day.

    Arlene2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and an easy drive into the park. The cabin is spacious, well cared for and well stocked. We had 4 adults and 2 children and the cabin was very comfortable for all.

    Grant 2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely multi-acre property with yards and cozy spaces indoors and out. Reasonably cool without A/C even during a record hot spell. All one needs in a kitchen. The place is definitely rustic, but the location and land make up for it. Reda went out of the way to be hospitable and beyond that friendly, tracking us down on the highway to make sure that we could meet before she left town. She checked in every day just to make sure that all was well. Torrey is a lovely launching spot for one of the less known Utah national parks, Capital Reef, which has no end of possibilities for exploration. One of the friendliest and most helpful hosts I've ever encountered.

    Bill2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great rustic place to stay with very good local restaurants - Nice cabin charm - Nice to see a large owl & deer on the property - we really enjoyed our two night stay

    Robert2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • I loved every second of our Torrey get-a-way. I slept like an old dog basking in the sunny spot on the floor. Everything we needed was in the cabin. We prepped gourmet meals, took strolls down to the Fremont River, sat on the bedroom balcony gazing at the mountains in the distance and stared in awe at the star filled night time sky. Inside nothing seemed to match, but it came together perfectly. The two furnaces kept us toasty at night and the ceiling fans upstairs kept the air moving and the entire home comfortable during the day. I'd like to come back one day.

  • Our family had a great stay at Reda's house. She met with us and gave some helpful recommendations for the area (and for our next destination in Moab). Loved the rural setting, which was still within walking distance to good restaurants and a general store. Views from the decks were really impressive. Perfect location for our Capitol Reef area stay.

These art-filled, family-friendly cabins are located right in Torrey, minutes from Capitol Reef National Park. We have two cabins on the property: the main cabin has a big, cozy fireplace, open kitchen and dining area. For bigger groups (or more privacy), open up the historic log cabin. Both cabins are included for the nightly rate!
The main cabin is a cozy, artsy building with an open kitchen and dining space, a big fireplace with plenty of seating, puzzles, games, books, and an audio-system with XM radio. If you need more space, or want some privacy, open up the log cabin. The patio is a great place to relax at the end of a long day outdoors and start a fire in the fire-pit. Or play pool a game of pool or pinball in the shed. On cold days, warm up inside with the large sand-stone fireplace. The main cabin has two bedrooms: a queen bed in the master, and two twin beds in the second bedroom. The log cabin has a double bed on the main floor, and a futon in the loft (which is open to the main floor).
  • What a wonderful setting. Two separate cabins to sleep--the larger one has two bedrooms, apple orchard full of apples, very well stocked kitchen, nice fireplace with lots of firewood and great selection of CD's, Wifi plus Sirus XM, tons of books and games--you won't miss TV for a few days!!. Even though Benjamin doesn't live close by, the communication was excellent and we had no problems getting in and checking out. The property has an interesting history and the smaller cabin was lovingly restored. If you are going to Capitol Reef National Park, this is a perfect location. Restaurants are close by and a small grocery store had what we needed to make dinner one night. Even though it rained a lot, we had a comfortable and enjoyable time!!

  • Our hosts Ben and Anthony are incredible. They made it so easy for my wife and I. From giving us directions on how to get to Torrey. Helping us set up an agenda for so many things to go see while at Capital Reef. The cabin it self was much cuter my wife said than what they told us. It has so much great character. The additional guest cabin has some great history and was so unique. We come to this area often and we will make this our home base each time we visit. The cabin has really high quality appliances and easy to clean. We really appreciated how accurate the description was and actually feel they over delivered. The grounds around the cabins was much bigger than we expected. We enjoyed the lawn area playing some games and just sitting out and relaxing in the shade under the apple trees. Evenings were just as great sitting around the camp fire. If you stay out late at night you'll enjoy some of the brightest stars.... Ben and Anthony please let us come back soon!

  • We loved this listing! We felt like it was our own little complex. The owner was very easy to work with, and responded quickly to all communications. Check-in/out was flexible and easy. The description in the listing was very accurate. This listing sits on a sizable amount of land. The multiple buildings and fire pit made it so there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and find their space. Everyone in our group was very happy with our stay here.

1600 SF Quiet cabin on 10 acre lot located at the base of Boulder Mountain with fantastic views of red rock cliffs across the valley to the north, the cockscomb to the east and the upper reaches of Capitol Reef National Park to the northeast. Enjoy the solitude of this amazing area with endless hiking on Boulder Mountain and Capitol Reef National Park. Also experience mountain biking and fishing outside the park in the Torrey area, Boulder Mountain and Fishlake National Forest.
2 level modern cabin with king bedroom and one full bathroom on the main level. Second level has second bedroom with a queen bed, a loft area with a queen bed and a full size futon and the second full bathroom. There is a TV for playing DVDs. The kitchen will have most everyday needs and there should be coffee in the cabinet. You will find towels, place-mats, napkins, all sorts of dishes. Be prepared with your food needs since it is a few miles to get to the small grocery store in Torrey. You do not want to forget cream for coffee and have to run out in the morning! We are remote and that is why this place is so special. We are looking into internet but as of today we do not have it. Enjoy being cut off from your devices! However, cell service is excellent. Relax and re charge by reading or playing a game. We love to hike, mountain bike and fish.
  • We stayed for a long weekend - to visit Capitol Reef NP. Great for us - ability to make dinner, breakfast and lunch and space to spread out for the kids. After hiking all day together - great to relax without being on top of each other in a hotel room!

  • This home is surreal. It is better than even the pictures depict. Waking up each morning to the view out the northern windows is something I will never forget. We dallied each day in going into Capitol Reef because the view from the dining table was medicine enough for the soul. The nighttime views weren't bad either, especially when enjoyed from the spacious porch.

    Dylan2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing space! Perfect for our small family or for a larger one too! We enjoyed the solitude and breakfast on the porch. Super nice to be able to take advantage of the washer and dryer too. Super close to Capitol Reef!

    Tammy2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • My family had an incredible stay here. The daytime views of the vistas are only matched by the nighttime views of the stars at this little slice of heaven. There are so many bodies of water nearby that I was able to fish four separate locations in three days, all within an hour's drive. I could have fished more than a dozen other reservoirs too, if only my wife would have let me. It's so close to Capitol Reef that we visited the park each day. And the drive to Boulder was so beautiful I didn't want it to end. The home itself comes equipped with all of the comforts needed for an ideal getaway. My daughter especially enjoyed all the deer and rabbits that make their way through the property each morning/evening.

    Chris2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and peaceful house. Our family enjoyed being unplugged yet still close enough to the parks to enjoy our stay.

    Mary2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing, stunning view! This home is perfectly situated to take in the vistas of Torrey and Capitol Reef. It was hard to take our eyes off it every time we looked out the window! The house is in excellent shape, very comfortable, extremely inviting and generously equipped. Torrey is just a short drive away for restaurants and groceries. Capitol Reef is very close, too, and it's only about 50 minutes to Boulder/Calf Creek Falls south on Highway 12 (one of the most scenic highways in the country). I've stayed in a lot of AirBnBs but this was the one I'd most like to own myself.

Spend the day exploring the deep canyons of Capital Reef National Park then watch the sunset relaxing on the deck overlooking the domes and cliffs of the park. Perched on a small tongue of land above Sand Creek enjoy the limitless views.
The beautiful views from the wrap around deck, the upper deck, the kitchen and bedroom windows is what makes our space absolutely magnificent. The cabin itself is quaint, cozy and comfortable!
The neighborhood has a few homes, not many are occupied full time. Most homes are on an acre to 14 acre lots which gives a feeling of spaciousness for anyone who is visiting. Our home with a view is unique because it sits up above all of the other homes so there are not any interruptions of our views.
  • Amazing views and location. Beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed cabin. Overall, a magical experience. Don't stay anywhere else in Torrey.

  • This was the best stay during our 18 days western U.S. Trip among over a dozen Airbnb properties. The house has excellent view with a full stock of equipment and materials for vacation. We enjoyed every minute of the stay and would recommend to any friend we know.

  • I can't say enough nice things about Jill and about the house and property. Jill was great to work with in helping us prepare for our month long stay, with tips on best places to get groceries, local things to do, logistics, etc. Her husband Kevin gave me advice on good running and mountain bike trails, outfitters, etc. They were great, friendly, and eager to please. The house is beautiful, the pictures do not do it justice. Great views of mountains, red rock cliffs, etc. We had lots of hummingbirds at the feeders which made for great entertainment. So much to see in the area. We had a great stay at Jill's place and I highly recommend it! Thank you Jill and Kevin!

    Ed2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jill's home is in a truly stunning location. The house has a 360 degree view of Torrey and Capitol Reef. The property is great to wander around and each morning we were greeted with a beautiful chorus of birds. The house is very well appointed, with a large fire pit, propane grill, wood and wood shed, plenty of parking, ample bedding and towels, and a plenty of room for 8 people. Jill was very helpful, courteous, and prompt to communicate; she offered suggestions for hikes and activities in the area and her advice was spot-on. If you're looking to explore Capitol Reef or the surrounding area, or just somewhere for a quiet desert retreat with a killer view, you can't do better than the "grand view."

  • We found the host to be very welcoming and responded rapidly to questions. We enjoyed four nights and many of the amenities offered at their vacation home. The views of redrock country were outstanding, the quiet and solitude made for peaceful relaxation after a long day's activities. Everything we needed (and more) was provided. We would love to return sometime to continue exploring the surrounding country.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay and relax. Near perfect location to access Capitol Reef, the house has great views and numerous outdoor lounging areas to enjoy them. Couldn't have been happier with our stay, it was quiet, clean, conveniant, and offered wonderful star viewing at night. Great option for families, we had our 18 month old in tow and it was nice to put her at the other end of the house and be able to do laundry.

  • This house is the perfect place to stay for a trip into Capitol Reef National Park. From the exterior photos, the house looks very basic and the lot is very basic. When you enter, you find a new, well designed, clean, and fully equipped and provisioned house that is extremely comfortable (Lazy Boy sofa!). Netflix is provided. You're a 2-3 minute drive from the grocery store and local restaurants. I had limited contact with Lacie but she was very nice the one time I spoke with her and clearly tries hard to provide a superior guest experience. I have no hesitation in recommending this home and the local hiking is fabulous.

Our guest quarters, on the second story above the garage, has a private entrance, one bedroom with three beds, a private full bath and sitting area. There is a microwave, coffee maker and small fridge but no major cooking facilities.
Conveniently located 11 miles from Capitol Reef National Park visitor center, two hours from Bryce Canyon National Park and two hours from Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park.
We are just a block and a half away from Torrey main street. There are seven restaurants and a small grocery store within a one mile radius, open during spring, summer and fall. It is a quiet neighborhood with a few roosters crowing, cows mooing or dogs barking in the distance. The scenery within a 50 mile radius will take your breath away. You can hike in or near Capitol Reef with the red rocks, lizards and cactus or you can hike into an alpine lake high on Boulder Mountain to enjoy some trout fishing.
  • Great place to access Capital Reef NP! Spacious with beds enough for a family (there were only two of us though). Wonderful place to unwind after a long day hiking. Carolyn was an amazing host. We arrived on New Years Day and no food options were open in Torrey for dinner so she was kind enough to share some dinner with us without any hesitation. Not to mention her being responsive and very knowledgeable about surrounding parks and recreational options. Highly recommended!

    Amanda2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The area was a lot larger than expected. She has a quilting machine and an office desk as she states in her listing but that did not distract from the large open experience of the living area. My wife also loved the Norman Rockwell book. It is difficult to keep a time schedule when traveling by car in Utah because of the long distances, many things to see, and often no cell service. We arrive later than we expected but still within her check in window. It started to get dark but she was waiting for us on her porch and gave us a nice welcome. The only thing I like to see improved is better Wi-Fi. It was often difficult to connect to and somewhat slow and make it difficult to research the area. A second router or an Access Point within our space should make the Wi-Fi better. If that doesn't work, she may need to upgrade her service.

  • Carolyn's place is very comfortable, great shower, cosy yet spacious. The Airbnb is shared with Carolyn's quilting space, which is fascinating and impressive. Our home in Torrey, Utah is 12 miles from Capitol Reef National Park where there are endless adventure opportunities. We are 4 blocks from the grocery store, shopping and dining, and yet our home is secluded, private and quiet. The views are stunning from every room. Our kitchen is fully stocked. From the patio, you will often see deer and turkey. There is a beautiful, running irrigation canal about 20 feet from the back patio. For this reason, our home is not appropriate for young children.
  • We are country people We fish and provide our own food back in Australia Steve's house has to have been our very best experience in 4 years! • Don't pass up the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home! It will absolutely surpass your expectations! It is obvious that every detail has been thought of in the design of this house, ranging from the well-stocked kitchen to the comfortable living spaces and bedrooms. But what makes this home stand out is the absolutely beautiful view and the fabulous photographs and art that are displayed throughout. After hiking all day, we looked forward to returning to this beautiful and serene space. It was a very special stay.

  • Amazing spot!! Stay here if you need lodging in this area or for Capitol Reef access. Four of us (two couples) stayed very comfortably. The artwork makes this place special and the decor was obviously chosen with much care. We also really enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, laundry, pantry, and bathrooms. Cooking homemade meals and eating them with the spectacular views was a treat. Besides excellent cleanliness and other features you’d expect of a top-choice Airbnb, we were personally greeted by the property manager in town and brought to the house. Great experience!

    Susan2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house is an absolute gem in every way. The view is spectacular, the art work is beautiful, and the house is comfortable and well-equipped. We stayed there with another couple and found it convenient for exploring Capitol Reef National Park, which may have just become our favorite park. There are good brochures and books about the area at the house which is a nice bonus. We would love to stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone. Everything about the experience was top notch.

    Mary2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We have traveled to central Utah many times during our road trips to the Mighty 5 national parks, and I can say without hesitation this is by far the best home we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. From the initial communication with Steve, the delightful call from Kathy welcoming us to the Torrey home (and her meeting us at the corner of the street to guide us to the house), the first view of the gorgeous and breathtaking views overlooking Capitol Reef (thanks for providing binoculars), and the equally stunning interior of the home, we couldn't have been happier with our selection. It is obvious that this home was built with comfort and luxury in mind, and no expenses were spared in the details. The views from the windows are as beautiful as the photos online, the kitchen is well-stocked (though we did not prepare any meals during our stay), and we especially appreciated that Steve provided coffee, bottled water (refrigerated and frozen) and paper goods. As for the bath amenities, there were full-size shampoo/conditioner and body wash in both bathrooms (a first for any home we've ever rented), as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste. You could easily have arrived here with nothing but clothes, and have everything you need to stay for awhile. While the home is not air conditioned, the evening temperatures in Torrey are cool enough (even in late July) , and the wind direction is just right as to cool off the bedrooms to a very comfortable sleeping temperature. In fact, we went to bed one night with the thermostat reading 80 degrees, and woke up in the morning to a reading of 67! Those evening breezes, coupled with the incredibly comfortable beds also meant that I had the best nights sleep of our entire trip while staying here! Finally, I just have to note how incredibly beautiful the view from the patio was, as it is a panoramic view out towards Capitol Reef. We loved sitting out on the patio in the evening watching the deer, and the setting sun, as the colors on the rocks were stunning. While sunset at nearby Capitol Reef is worth seeing, we found it every bit as beautiful at the house. In closing, we can't thank Steve enough for opening up his beautiful home to guests. The luxury and comfort, the warm welcome we received upon our arrival, and the entire stay, has us dreaming about our next visit!

    Laurie2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place with spectacular views. We were so comfortable here and it was such a nice place to come home to from long days out hiking. Waking up to the beautiful views and having the luxury of home, made this such a relaxing vacation. Thank you!!

    Jennifer2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in this house. The view through the huge windows is fabulous, which in turn gives a light and airy feel to the house itself. We enjoyed watching the deer pass by through the garden, gazing at the stars and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. Although the temperatures during the day were high the nights were cooler and the bed very comfortable. Thanks to Kathy for greeting us and being on hand for whatever we might need. I thoroughly recommend this house as a base for the beautiful Capitol Reef.

Our log home is 3 blocks from downtown Torrey. Close to beautiful Capitol Reef and scenic highway 12. Seasonal nightlife includes local natural history, culture, and live music. The natural area brings in wildlife activity for you to enjoy in our backyard orchard. Great for bird watching! Home is rustic and eclectic, all wood interior with wood burning stove. Great place for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Smoke and pet free, we use natural soaps and cleaners for your health.
The apartment is rustic with all wood and/or rock interior. There is a queen size bed that can sleep 2 and a couch that can sleep one small-medium adult or child comfortably. Apartment and bathroom are not wheelchair accessible. There are a few stairs to navigate coming in to the apt. and also up to the kitchen and bathroom. Bathroom is attached to the kitchen and is small, but functional, with a custom-tiled walk-in shower. The small kitchen has an electric 4 burner stove top and oven, a toaster, and a small dormitory style refrigerator with small freezer section. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes needed to cook and eat, a few spices, oatmeal and cold cereal for you to prepare if you choose. Coffee, tea and fruit, when in season, are available as well. There is a wood burning stove as well as an electric heater. Electric heater should be pulled away from wall when using. If using the wood burning stove remember to pull the flue out just a little to get it started and going well. Instructions for using the wood burning stove are on the wood box in the apartment. Fire starting materials and wood will be available for your convenience. Please take all precautions when starting and using a fire. If you need advice, please ask. Our BnB is just across the street from a fringe wooded area, where deer often bed down at night. Our east window faces the woods and sometimes you can see deer coming and going to our orchard property or to other places in the neighborhood. The deer frequent all parts of the property, eating fruit from the orchard in season, alfalfa, and wild greens in the yard. The fruit orchard and the canopy of mature trees in Torrey bring in an abundance of birds for viewing.
The apartment is in the valley of Torrey, between Boulder Mountain to the south and Thousand Lakes Mountain to the north. North views are of the redrock cliffs and knolls of Torrey, with Thousand Lakes Mountain above. Torrey's elevation is 6837 ft. above sea level. Torrey has a beautiful combination of redrock cliffs, knolls, pinyon and juniper forest, and sage and rabbit brush desert scrub. The area has been referred to as high desert or cold desert, due to it's elevation and cool temperatures, fall through spring. The apartment sits opposite an open lot with a small wooded area that deer often bed down in at night, a meadow, and a small wetland area, based on the irrigation ditch that runs through town. This open natural land so close to the apartment brings wildlife and an abundance of birds into the area and property. We have kept our yard free of pesticides and let it grow wilder than most do, to facilitate our yard being used by the local animals and birds for food, habitat, nesting material, etc. We have noticed that the birds, deer, ants and squirrels have all been eating from the 90 year old apricot trees just outside the apt. door. We are happy to share our property with our "deer friends and neighbors." Because the mountains and plateaus surrounding Torrey rise to nearly 11,000 feet, the town rarely experiences the heat that much of Southern Utah does. We do get rain occasionally -- mostly in July and August. If temperatures do get hot during the day in July and August, the nights cool off quickly. To the East, the Torrey valley drops down into the red rock country of Capitol Reef National Park (11 miles away), to approximately 5,500 feet in elevation. The Navajos and Utes referred to the beautiful multicolored rock of the "waterpocket fold" and surrounding area, as "the land of the sleeping rainbow." Torrey is centrally located for many Southern Utah adventures. Accessible within 1.5-2 hours drive are parts of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and the canyons of the San Rafael Swell. Moab, with Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, is about 3 hours east. The Escalante Canyons are approximately 2 hours south. Bryce and Zion National Parks are about 3 hours south. Boulder Mountain to the South, Thousand Lakes Mountain to the North, and the Fish Lake area to the west and north, all have mountain lakes, streams and wooded areas. The area around Torrey is stunning in it's natural beauty and is a wonderful get-a-way from the city or the suburbs. Come to the "land of the sleeping rainbow." Enter the land of your soul.
  • Joy and Bernie were fabulous hosts, great communication and they gave us lots of travel tips and information about the local area and beyond. The flat was comfortable and well appointed. We'd travelled through Zion, Grand Staircase and Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef rivaled all them for jaw dropping scenery but with then added bonus of no crowds. Highly recommend a visit to Torrey and a stay at Joy and Bernie's. Thanks for having us.

  • We were fortunate to stay in both the apartment and Joy and Bernie's house! Our hosts accommodated our need for additional space for my brother-in-law to join us, and thus we were able to use their house as well as the apartment. The apartment was fine for the two of us, but it was great having the house for the three of us to hang out in and cook. We loved sitting around the table! The location of this home is perfect for exploring Capitol Reef and nearby places (we went to Goblin State Park and Little Wild Horse Canyon). Torrey has awesome restaurants for such a small town (be sure to go to Cafe Diablo!). You'll need to get your wine in the nearby town of Bicknell, but the little grocery store is well-stocked. Joy and Bernie's home was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our small group of three. We'll definitely stay there again when we come back to explore Capitol Reef!

  • Hot & Bernie's place is set in a really beautiful location that makes reaching Capitol Reef NP really easy. It is a great stop in between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks via Highway 12. The house is compact but cute and completely furnished with all you need. It is not an exaggeration that the bathroom is small - it is probably easier to shower with the door open and kitchen door closed since it is joined to the kitchen. But otherwise, it is perfect, really, down to the pit for roasting smores

    Wesley2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Joy and Bernie's was a great place to stay! The location was perfect! We spent three nights there and did capitol reef, arches canyonlands, and left along scenic byway 12 to bryce. The place offers great value for money and is a perfect location to move around to various parks.

    Charles2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Joy and Bernie's place was lovely! It is one block off the Main Street in Torrey- a very short walk to the local restaurants, cafe, tour guide and grocery stores. The place itself is so charming. It's not modern by all means but SO homey and cozy. It's very spacious, with a bedroom-living room, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. They also are very conscious with the products used in their home- like the kitchen soaps and bathroom shampoo/conditioners, which I found awesome. The only thing I would say is the wifi is alright but if you're in Torrey to be in the outdoors it's totally fine. Overall great stay. Thanks so much Joy and Bernie!

    Roisin2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Joy has done a fantastic job of making this apartment feel very warm and welcoming. She has stocked the kitchen very well with more than basic essentials. She put out fancy soaps and shampoo/conditioner for us. We had a great evening in her backyard with a fire pit. She joined us for a glass of wine and great conversation. She also gave us great Ideas about fruit picking and hiking and going to Boulder. We would definitely recommend this place.

    Varsha2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Torrey is a nice small town next to Capitol Reef National Park-I have been to the area before but I was impressed with the brochures, books and maps of some of the lesser known surrounding areas. The apartment was stocked with oatmeal cereal and some amazingly tasty fruit. Joy + Bernie are great people and I would stay there again...

    Rocky2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived with excellent directions with straight forward check-in and communications. Joy had some very nice touches in the studio: soaps, shampoos, teas, apples and delicious coffee. Joy and Bernie were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Bernie went out of his way to explain solar coffee roasting. He roasts delicious coffee. The listing is accurate and the pictures are true to actual. Great shower pressure and comfortable bed.

We bought this property because of the magnificent red rock views and the creek that runs through the back of our property under the cottonwood trees. We are within 100 yards of national forest land that provides unbelievable hiking and exploring. At 7,000 ft. with mountains above us and desert below, there is always a soft breeze that makes the temperature here very comfortable, especially for sleeping. Star watching at night is incredible, when was the last time you saw the Milky Way?
  • Wow. Linda and Martin have thought of everything. We cooked every day and there was nothing we couldn't find in the kitchen! The views are spectacular and the house is lovely and close to town while still private.

    Kimberli2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house was fantastic--clean, modern, well-equipped and with spectacular views. Linda and Martin were terrific hosts and I would definitely stay here again.

  • So perfect a place to stay that we hated to leave!

    Isabel2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great great great vacation house. Had a great time. Very close to Capitol Reef national park and Torrey is a cute little town. Linda and Martin are absolutely amazing hosts. A vacation house can't get any better than this house. We had everything we needed in this house. And one of the best parts? Pet friendly... Every inch of this house was well designed and well maintained. A perfect vacation house.

    Harsha2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Martin's house deserves many more stars than the maximum of five we could give it. It is a pristine clean, beautifully decorated and appointed, two-bedroom, two-bathroom home situated on the peaceful outskirts of the small, attractive Utah town of Torrey. The views from every window of the house and from its two large decks are expansive and outstanding. Capital Reef National Park - with its many canyon hikes - is within easy driving distance. Linda and Martin were the most generous and friendly of hosts. We thank them for helping to make our trip to Utah so comfortable and enjoyable.

    Richard2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • My family of six loved this place. The kitchen is well stocked, the space is open and inviting. The covered decks are a great place to read and eat. The blow up mattress is easy to use and put away. Martin and Linda were great hosts.

    Vikki2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Martin have created a wonderful space from which to explore a beautiful part of Utah. They have thought of everything- from the selection of Utah beers waiting in the fridge to the array of area specific books and reading material; from the immaculately appointed kitchen (stocked with all the staples and more!) to the luxurious linens and towels. We were truly On Vacation. The views are spectacular from every window, and we enjoyed watching the snow fall with a fire inside to help keep us warm. Thank You.

    Tony2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay and want to return soon! Everything we might need was available, contained in a beautiful open space that was very livable and comfortable. We cooked most meals there, the grill is fabulous! We enjoyed having a base to explore new places.

Beautiful new contemporary home in Torrey w/spectacular views of Boulder Mt, The Henry Mts. and Capitol Reef NP. The joy of travel has always involved getting away from it all, but never has the very notion of escape seemed quite as liberating as it does today. I hope your time at our home, surrounded by the beauty of starry filled night skies and dramatic red rock will inspire you to find a stillness, away from the busyness of our everyday lives. NO guns, ATVs, Drones or Parties.
This recently built house is very unique. As you might have seen in the photos it has panoramic views from the main living space with floor to ceiling windows on all four sides, capturing the incredibly diverse landscape, thus the name 360. The home has been designed and decorated by a professional architect and interior designer. It is open and inviting for family and guests to make as their home away from home. The main living space consists of two separate dining areas, a living room area and a grand kitchen fully equipped for any chefs needs. One of the dining areas can seat up to 10 people and the smaller one seats 6 comfortably, but could easily squeeze an additional two people. This smaller table is a great place to work a puzzle, play cards or to sit and grab a bite to eat. The lounge seating area consists of two beautifully upholstered leather couches with two coffee tables creating a lovely conversational area for all. This large galley kitchen comfortably accommodates eight at the island. The counters are appointed with beautiful black, cream and white granite. A fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a programmable coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, microwave, blender, ice cream maker, waffle maker, professional cutlery, pots and pans. An apple peeler provided for those days when the apples are ripe and ready to pick from the apple orchards located in Fruita, inside the park. A covered patio provides seating for 8, a grille for the cooking with spectacular views overlooking Sand Creek, Boulder Mt. and The Henrys. The two bedrooms upstairs are both furnished with queen size beds, fitted with fine linens. Large windows offer wonderful views to the stunning red rocks to the north. The bathroom is appointed with a double bowl sink, walk in shower and plenty of fresh bath linens. Downstairs has an additional bedroom furnished with a queen size bed, a family room with a kitchenette that is equipped with a microwave, an under counter refrigerator, a toaster oven and an assemblage of household items to make your stay comfortable . The bathroom consists of a large walk in shower. There is a TV for watching a dvd or shows from your personal computer. This is a great space for a anyone who might need a little space away from the rest of the house. Once again, these spaces have floor to ceiling windows with dramatic views to the red rocks to the north. Torrey is a quaint little town, but with a myriad of things to do. A binder is provided outlining a few of our favorite hikes, bike rides and places in town to poke around in. I hope you enjoy your stay here. It is a very special place.
The gateway to Capitol Reef National Park, the pretty little tree-filled town of Torrey is one of Southern Utah's jewels. The town was settled in the 1880's by Mormon pioneers. Sand Creek, flowing from Thousand Lake Mountain attracted the settlers as a good source of water for their families and crops. No doubt they appreciated the magnificence of Thousand Lake Mountain, as a beautiful edifice as well as a grass-filled home for their livestock. Legend has it that Torrey was named after one of Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders, Colonel Torrey. Torrey has had many famous visitors, among them John Wesley Powell, Butch Cassidy, Zane Grey, Maynard Dixon and Wallace Stegner. Torrey is currently home for an eclectic group of people. There is a mixture of the descendants of the pioneers and a variety of newcomers, many of whom like to hike and explore the vast surroundings of mountains & canyons & deserts & rivers. Capitol Reef National Park is a hiker's park with a myriad of trails for casual walking outings or serious hiking adventures. Hiking in Capitol Reef is pleasant all year and the vastness of Capitol Reef assures one of quiet and solitude. The history of the human presence in Capitol Reef is fascinating and everywhere, from the rock art lining the canyon walls to the orchards along the Fremont River. Boulder Mountain, part of Dixie National Forest is a massive green expanse of pine forests, meadows and lakes.7000 to 11,000 feet elevation. Hiking trails, numerous lakes known for abundant populations of brook trout, and views filled with blue sky and red canyon country reaching beyond the Colorado River. Boulder Mountain is within minutes of Torrey and a favorite spot for everyone. Thousand Lake Mountain Its face of exposed red sandstone layers provides lovely red canyons on its lower slopes for hiking and exploring. Higher, both steep and gentle slopes of open meadows with huge clusters of aspen and tall pines allow for pleasurable travel on foot, horseback, bicycle or ATV. Thousand Lake Mountain borders Fish Lake Mountain on the north and Capitol Reef National Park on the south. Torrey, within walking distance, lies at the base of Thousand Lake Mountain which rises from 7000 to 11,000 feet.
  • Lee's home is an absolute gem! Beautiful cement floors, cozy rugs, upscale bedding, huge kitchen counter, clean lines, and wonderful family room with views in every direction (and that's just the main level). Gigantic sliding glass doors open in the family room to bring the outdoors in! There's a covered patio with a darling, old swing bench and chairs to enjoy the view. We forgot a couple items for cooking and Lee had a well stocked cooking drawer we borrowed from. We even plugged our phones into the surround sound system and listened to music inside and outside on the patio! Lee was friendly and easily accessable. We had a medical emergency while there and Lee went out of her way to help make our departure easier. So, so nice. We'd love to stay here again in the future.

    Kris2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at the house! It was as beautiful as the pictures show.

    Alyssa2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • This house in Torrey is even more spectacular than the photos suggest. The physical setting is unparalleled, and the house is so beautiful, spacious, and welcoming. You can sit indoors or out, and you feel it is simultaneously private and yet connected with all of the amazing scenery of southern Utah. Our family of four spent every day in the canyons, and every evening watching amazing sunsets and then shooting stars before bedtime. In the park, the rangers were great at suggesting appropriate hikes and adventures. The nearby town of Loa was hosting the Wayne County summer festival including a rodeo and demolition derby, so that just added to an amazing stay. Oh, and Lee (the host) was super-responsive, we couldn't ask for more. If you get the chance to stay in the Torrey house, take it; it will be unforgettable.

    Tim2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The home is beautiful in an ideal location. This is the perfect place to stay if you are planning a visit to Capital Reef, Torrey or Boulder. The large open kitchen/living area is ideal for spending time with family and friends and the views are amazing. There also is a very nice patio and fire pit. The home is new, very clean and well appointed. And Lee is a wonderful host, she was always very prompt in answering my questions.

    Kristy2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • House far exceeded expectations - pictures cannot do it justice. Very convenient location. Well laid out. Great kitchen for cooking. Lee was super easy to communicate with. We can't wait to come back!

Sweet cabin on 10-acre horse property and the Fremont River at West Entrance of Capitol Reef National Park. Very private. A great retreat or home base for your backcountry adventures.
Great cabin on 10 acre horse property with beautiful red rock view on Fremont river. Horse shoe pit by the river!
easy access to Capitol Reef National Park, hiking, fishing, ATV, biking, canyoneering, you name it. contact Backcountry Outfitters (torrey) to make a plan!
  • Our hosts were very helpful in making sure we found the cabin and settled in comfortably -- Cody met us in town and let us follow him to the cabin the night we arrived! The cabin is very private and hard to find in the dark, and GPS map directions are not accurate, so that is important to know how to get there ahead of time. Also there is a dirt road for about 3 miles to the cabin. The horse ranch that the cabin is on is lovely, and the cabin itself is well-equipped and very comfortable. Great kitchen and bathroom, incredible canyon and ranch views, and close to Capitol Reef and Grand Staircase. We were grateful for the wifi so we could easily plan our day trips.

    Lisa2014-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and quiet. Lots of windows and a nice deck let you enjoy the scenery whether you are inside or out. Full bath with big shower and clean towels. Big comfy bed with clean sheets. Kitchen includes full-size fridge, stove, small microwave and dishwasher, French-press coffee pot (and more). The dirt/gravel road was in good condition and a smooth ride to the cabin. Easy access to Teasdale, Torrey and Capitol Reef National Park. Tina responded promptly to my inquiries, and she and Cody were very gracious and quickly got us back on track when we had trouble finding the cabin at night. Great location for nature lovers seeking a tranquil base camp for exploring the Capitol Reef area.

  • Capitol Reef NP was more beautiful than we imagined and Tina's cabin in Torrey was the best place to stay. The cabin is only about 15-20 minutes from the park. The location is quiet and has amazing views of the landscape. The cabin had fluffy white bath towels, a very nice shower, lovely fireplace and full-size kitchen. Tina was so patient with my questions and responded immediately, thank you Tina! We hope to come back again.

  • We found this lovely "hideout" in Utah to stay in while visiting Capitol Reef National Park. We loved the canyon setting with pretty horses nearby and a little creek. Very clean and nicely stocked kitchen and bathroom. Very private and picturesque. Thanks for a great birthday.

    Hannah2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • A nice cabin with basic amenities in a secluded location near Capitol Reef. Overall a good experience, but we did have some issues withc cleanliness and some general disrepair.

    DOUG & EMILY2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin and the location is great. Secluded yet close enough to the town of Torrey and Capitol Reef NP. Roomy enough for the 2 of us and had everything we needed. We were disappointed with the lack of cleanliness of the cabin. It didn't appear to have been cleaned for a while. There were mouse droppings in the bathroom and kitchen corners, and a lot of droppings in the fireplace. We actually saw a mouse run across the kitchen area twice and one night I was awakened by a mouse eating on the bait blocks in the cabinets. Judging by the bait blocks mice must be an ongoing problem. I hope that gets resolved.

  • This is a great place to stay if you want to be out in the country and visit the Great Capitol Reef National Park.. it can be a little tricky to find but if you follow Cody's Direction you shouldn't have any problem. It was a great experience and a very quiet and beautiful place to live.

    Wally J.2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My family really enjoyed the peace and relaxation this cabin brought to our time in Torrey, Utah while visiting Capitol Reef National Park. The cabin was as described and portrayed in photos. Some highlights for us included the spacious porch where we could sit outside and enjoy our meals, a nice large shower, the ability to cook our meals in the kitchen, and the cabin's proximity to Torrey. Some downsides of the cabin included there only being one full size bed (that was really soft) so if you are more than two guests someone will be sleeping on the foldout couch and the bathroom sink drained quite slowly. Overall a great experience staying here and would recommend to those who want a space of their own with quiet, beautiful surroundings.

Stone Home is close to Capitol Reef National Park. You'll love this beautiful old stone building for it's history, dramatic & beautiful space and its location. Stone Home was originally built in 1873 as a mercantile. In 2005 its exterior was totally upgraded in keeping with its original historical period. All new interior walls, floors and doors were replaced and built by the owner who is a professional woodworker. It's located in the town of Bicknell, with views of the vast landscapes beyond.
The apartment is upstairs accessed by a staircase inside the front door. Because of it’s age, the second floor is not handicap accessible. The space has an open floor plan with kitchen, living and dining in a common area. The ceiling is high and at its perimeter angles with the pitch of the roof. The window sills are exceptionally deep due to the structure of the old stone buildings’ walls which are almost 18” thick. This all adds up to be a very dramatic and interesting space! The views are both of the town of Bicknell and the gorgeous landscapes. There is one private bedroom with a queen bed, ample closet and chest of drawers. Extra guests can be accommodated on the queen size sofa bed. There is one large bathroom with plenty of storage, a long cast-iron tub with shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with the typical amenities. You could comfortably cook here over any length of stay. The sink is incorporated into an island with bar seating for casual eating. The dining table will seat 6.
  • Our stay at the "old stone house" was great. The place has been beautifully renovated with a very artistic touch. In addition, you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the experience and the location was great for a visit to Capitol Reef national park.

  • The Ston Hhouse is a great experience in a very old historic building but very, modern, clean and quiet.

  • Our stay at Stone Home was simply great. The apartment was just as great and welcoming. It was even better "live" than described in the website and pictures. Fully furnished, well equipped, comfortable and in a strategic location. I hope I will have a chance to come back and visit Utah again in the future. Strongly recommended!

    Federico2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a historic building. We will be back when we are in the Capitol Reef Area. Thanks!

  • Charming space with lots of room. Outfitted with everything you could need for an extended stay. Odis is a great host, checking in several times during our stay. No a/c, but doesn't get unbearably hot, even in July.

    Teri2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you are coming to Capitol Reef you already know what beauty and wonderful sights are, but you can add an extra special bunch of beauty and art to your trip by staying at Odis' Stone Home in Bicknell. As a bonus, especially if you like fine woodworking, the interior of this house is full of beautiful wood and superb craftsmanship, in wood, throughout. Make your trip a 6 star event by adding this place to your plans. The price is right, too... perhaps even a little low. Enjoy

    GEORGE2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Stone Home is a very special place unlike other airbnb's. Everything is crafted by a skilled artisan with impeccable taste. When you enter the building, everything you see and touch is artwork. The hand-carved door, the cabinets, the dressers and the lovely art on the walls. It is a magical getaway that is state of the art in comfort and convenience. Odis is amazing!

    Sharon2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Stone House was the perfect place to stay to explore both Capitol Reef National Park and Fish Lake. Odis was friendly and helpful throughout our stay and we really enjoyed staying at the Stone House. The place was perfect for a getaway - the area is really cool and quiet. The Stone House is comfortable and a very unique and special place to stay. It's by far the best place to stay in the entire area!

  • This is a very unusual place. It has a long uphill entrance off of a barely visible driveway. At first appearance it seems a little disheveled. But be patient. You will be rewarded. Heir is an incredibly nice, interesting man who has created an exceptional and unique experience. The dinosaur fossils and amazing views where it is just you, the dessert and the sky put it over the top. Wow!

    Nancy2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Bob's place is convinently located with sunny views of Capitol reef. His home is cozy, and can accommodate any large family. We enjoyed it so much we didn't want to leave. We also appreciated Bob's thoughtful gesture of leaving breakfast items in the refrigerator.

    Christopher2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely beautiful place! The house is located immediately outside Capitol Reef, and the views make it feel like you haven't left the park. Very clean and comfortable inside. We stayed in the apartment that occupies the bottom level of the house (there's another unit on the second story with a separate entrance), and Heir lives nearby. He stopped by in the morning and gave us a tour of his fossil collection, which serve as yard decorations at this wonderful and unique home.

    Peter2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bob was a gracious and pleasant host. The apartment is part of a house with another upstairs for other guests that weren't heard during our stay. The refrigerator and pantry were well stocked with plenty of food for breakfast. There was enough variety of coffee to make for an army. Bob was a wealth of knowledge about everything related to dinosaurs and geologic ages. It was a joy to listen to his stories. You could not ask for a more amazing sunrise or sunsetfacing capital reef national Park. We would go again in a second and probably will!

    Grokwork2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • f like me you've ever wanted to feel like you live in a national park, this will let you do that - Heir Bob's seems to be the last private home on the road to Capitol Reef (coming from the west), before you get to the park (only place closer to the park is the Capitol Reef Resort)- and as other reviewers note, it has an incredible views of the park and surrounding environs. Heir Bob was warmly welcoming, and as others note fridge is really well stocked - both for breakfast, and with drinks, snacks - best-stocked fridge I've encountered in 50+ Airbnbs. And really nice of Bob to make his W/D available.

Beauty, serenity, endless hiking and forest/canyon exploration out the door. End of road privacy yet 20 minutes from Capitol Reef NP. One hour's drive to Boulder/Escalante Canyons. Artisanal 1000 SF log cabin with 1400 SF deck on 160 acres of privately conserved and protected land where Boulder Mt. meets red rock at 7200 ft. Pinyon Juniper Ponderosa forest, surrounded by beautiful public lands including ancient petroglyphs and petrographs. Quiet, serene setting, perfect high desert retreat.
This is truly a one-of-a-kind cabin, surrounded by beautiful Navajo sandstone slick rock at the base of Boulder Mountain. One and a half mile single track dirt road access, best for small SUVs. Our cabin is recommended as a retreat and for those who love the high desert. No need to drive once you arrive. Hiking and beauty abound.
160 acres of private conserved land in slick rock cove paradise. No visible cabins nearby, complete quiet and tranquillity. All utilities underground. Emergency services at least 30 minutes away.
  • Three things strike you about this property. The first are the views. Even after several days, we found ourselves stopping in our tracks when we glimpsed the surroundings through a window or from the wraparound porch. The second is the quiet. Other than the occasional insect or animal sound, or the wind whispering in the surrounding trees, the quiet is profound. The third is the night sky. The Milky Way pops out of the dark over your head. Even a crescent moon is bright enough to cast a definite shadow. We had several enjoyable evenings simply watching the dark settle in and the stars come out. Highly recommended.

  • Prior to our arrival Salem was prompt in responding and provided us recommendations for places to eat, hike, and purchase food. Unfortunately we were not aware of some of the trickier aspects of staying at this cabin until we were ready to travel. Fortunately for us the weather was good so we could access the cabin via the last 1.5 mile rough dirt road. During a storm, even in a 4WD, it could be very difficult to access or leave the cabin due to some deeply rutted areas along the path. There is also an unlit, gated entrance with a keypad that requires one to get out of the car upon entering or exiting the cabin's main driveway. During our stay we enjoyed the scenery, privacy, and pristine setting of this tastefully decorated, remote cabin. We found the kitchen well-stocked with dishes and basic staples for cooking and baking, but upon arrival it was necessary to run the water for approximately 15 minutes to get rid of the strong sulphur taste and smell of the water. The living room had an energy efficient woodstove and a generous supply of firewood, but we found it difficult to read at night due to the lack of reading lamps. Both bedrooms were spacious, but we did not sleep well as neither had window coverings and both bedrooms had skylights. Due to gaps along some of cabin logs we found lots of dead and live bugs on both beds, the floors, and the windowsills throughout our stay. The shower was small, and the water temperature fussy, so we had to take very quick showers---sometimes tepid to cold, and due to the hardness of the water we found it hard to properly clean. Overall we enjoyed our time in Capital Reef, but we felt the cabin was a bit too uncomfortable for us.

  • Salem's Cabin is nothing short of magical! Situated in a hidden "cove" on the edge of protected primitive land, it's like staying in a modern luxury hotel on a newly discovered planet. Photos only hint at the full circle of natural beauty, peace, quiet and privacy fully encircling the place. About the cabin itself: The interior is filled with custom woodworking by local artisans, more like the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite than the rustic cabin I expected. It's very clean and comfortable with decks you won't want to leave, even though there's a beautiful waterfall in a slot canyon, views and petroglyphs within short hikes. Bring a good book, comfortable boots, and sun protection. Bring lots of groceries and wine if you drink it, in case you never want to leave, but the restaurants and galleries in town beckon if you want civilization. Cafe Diablo serves a particularly scrumptious menu at prices way below similar meals I've had in Santa Fe. If you plan to go in and out of the cove a lot, it's best to have a 4WD vehicle or check with Salem about the road conditions of the private dirt road leading from town to the cabin, which I expect is tricky during some times of the year. Capitol Reef is a short drive away if you want bigger vistas. I vote for Highway 12 through Boulder and Escalante to Bryce as one of the most beautiful roads in America. Other than renting an entire island in the Pacific, you'll have trouble finding the peace of this cabin anywhere else. And other than hiring a private tour guide, you'll have trouble finding a better host than Salem, whose love for this part of Utah is contagious. I'll definitely be back.

  • This is a lovely cabin in a unique and very special place. Extremely private in a gorgeous setting, it is the perfect getaway. Gracious hosts with good communication.

    Shaleane2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • I came here with my wife and two young kids (5 & 2). The cabin is just what we were hoping for: A secluded location to relax, enjoy the beautiful views, and to go on some hikes to enjoy the surroundings. We spent a great week here in the summer and the location is stunning. We did take two day trips – one to the local Capitol Reef State Park and one longer trip to Bryce. That said, we had the most fun on the hikes that were just outside the front door. We'd happily come back here anytime.

    Sriram2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cabin retreat! Remote and quiet, yet close to Capital Reef National Park and not far from many other national parks. Salem gave us accurate and helpful detailed info on finding the cabin, which is well-equipped with everything we could have wanted. The weather was cool at night, and it was fabulous having the wood-burning stove, though there are wall-heaters as well. We went to the grocery store, and wound up fixing all our meals at the cabin, the kitchen had everything we needed. The cabin is lovingly decorated, and roomy. My husband and I were traveling by ourselves, so we only used the main bedroom. The bed was comfortable, and the views from the bedroom (as every room) were amazing! Though we were there for 4 nights, we would have loved to have stayed longer, if our schedule had allowed. The stunning views and hiking right out the back door of the cabin itself was something I have never experienced before. What a delightful home away from home. Though the pictures are accurate, nothing can compare to being there in person! We hope to return!

    Cheryl2016-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is phenomenal - 360 degree views of park-worthy terrain, and the cabin's windows and large decks really take advantage of it. I've been hiking southern Utah for a decade, and this is one of the most beautiful locations I could imagine for a cabin. The cabin was clean, well-maintained and had a great floorplan. The kitchen was well-stocked and appliances were of high quality. The cabin is tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable. The views from the main bedroom are particularly spectacular. Salem and Laurie were wonderful hosts, and pointed us toward some hiking right by the cabin - a waterfall and petroglyphs. What a treat! We had a sandstone wonderland all to ourselves, and we can't wait to return. No matter how high your scenery standards, I promise this cabin won't disappoint!

    Holly2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cabin in picturesque sand stone and juniper trees. I stayed for three nights to hike but wish I would have booked it for longer. It's a one of a kind location and a beautiful cabin.

It is a perfect stopping over place before traveling on to Arches/Moab. The room was so clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a nice cafe in the nearby town of Torrey where we had dinner. Thanks we will be back!

  • Such a lovely, place that immediately felt like being part of the local and the environment of Capital Reef. The room had a large, east-facing window and a great view of the sunrise. Not a view of the iconic image of the red cliffs of Capital Reef but great views of the local, rugged cliffs and the valley farmland. For the price everyone in my party loved it.

    Linda2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place is actually a motel - I did not know motels were allowed on airbnb. It was an OK overnite place to stay while visiting Capitol Reef. Lovely, huge backyard for sitting and watching the sunset.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Cactus Hill Ranch. The room was modest but clean, comfortable, close to Capitol Reef National Park and a great value. We would return if we are in the area and highly recommend to others looking for a room in the area.

  • We enjoyed our stay here very much! It was the perfect place to stay on our road trip. Peaceful with a pretty view, comfy and clean room, and a short drive to the grocery store in the neighboring town.

  • Huge room with a view. Everything a hotel has but much more affordable. The service out there wasn't the best so we almost couldn't find it but just keep driving it's pretty far out there. Slept well. Definitely recommend it.

  • A standard motel setting yet it provides a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee machine as extra. The location is super as it only takes less than 30min to the Capitol Reef National Park. The room is clean, quiet, and comes with a parking spot right in front of our room. A very pleasant airbnb experience.

Our Log Home is rustic with all wood and/or rock interior. There is a queen size bed in the loft that can sleep 2 and a queen size bed in the downstairs bedroom. Home and bathroom are not wheelchair accessible. There are a few stairs to navigate coming in to the home and also up to the loft bedroom and down to the basement bedroom. Bathroom is small but functional with a step-in tub/shower. The open kitchen has an electric stove and oven, a toaster, and refrigerator with freezer section. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes needed to cook and eat and with spices, oatmeal and cold cereal for you to prepare if you choose. Coffee, tea and fruit, when in season, are available as well. There is a wood burning stove as well as an electric heater. Electric heater should be pulled away from wall when using. If using the wood burning stove remember to pull the flue out just a little to get it started and going well. Fire starting materials and wood will be available for your convenience. Please take all precautions when starting and using a fire. If you need advice, please ask. Our BnB Log Home is just across the street from a fringe wooded area, where deer often bed down at night. Our east window faces the woods and sometimes you can see deer coming and going to our orchard property or to other places in the neighborhood right from the dining window. The deer frequent all parts of the property, eating fruit from the orchard in season, alfalfa, and wild greens in the yard. The fruit orchard and the canopy of mature trees in Torrey bring in an abundance of birds for viewing.
The Log Home is in the valley of Torrey, between Boulder Mountain to the south and Thousand Lakes Mountain to the north. This open natural land so close to the home brings wildlife and an abundance of birds into the area and property. We have kept our yard free of pesticides and let it grow wilder than most do, to facilitate our yard being used by the local animals and birds for food, habitat, nesting material, etc. We have noticed that the birds, deer, ants and squirrels have all been eating from the 90 year old apricot trees just outside the back door. Accessible within 1.5-2 hours drive are parts of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, and the canyons of the San Rafael Swell.
  • Convenient, cozy place to stay in Torrey. Good location for visiting Capitol Reef National Park. Close to main street of small town of Torrey. Log cabin home is a peaceful, private retreat with comfortable bed, living space, kitchen and washer/dryer. Stocked with dishes, linens, natural soap and shampoo/conditioner, dish and laundry detergent, cereal, coffee/tea and condiments. There is a fire pit outdoors and a fireplace in the living room. Smalll porch and plenty of space in the yard. This is the owners' own home, there is also an apartment attached with separate living space and entrance, which is rented through airbnb. Joy and Bernie provided helpful suggestions on things to do in the area and were responsive and thorough in communicating about details. Everything handled well for this pleasant stay in a charming rustic log cabin home amidst the beautiful scenery of the Capitol Reef area.

Beautiful contemporary apartment w/private entrance located in Torrey. Spectacular views of Boulder Mt, Henry Mts, Capitol Reef NP. The joy of travel has always involved getting away from it all, but never has the very notion of escape seemed quite as liberating as it does today. I hope your time at our home, surrounded by the beauty of dramatic red rock and starry nights will inspire you to find a stillness, away from the busyness of our everyday lives. NO guns, ATVs, Drones or Parties.
This is a lovely apartment with a private bedroom with a queen size bed, a separate kitchenette, living/dining area and a bathroom. The kitchenette has an under counter refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster oven and a coffeemaker. There are basic kitchen utensils along with service for four. An outdoor space just outside the private entrance to the apartment is set with chairs and a table as well as a grill, a perfect setting for a meal after a day spent in the great outdoors. The joy of travel has always involved getting away from it all, but never has the very notion of escape seemed quite as liberating as it does today. I hope your time at our home, surrounded by the beauty of the pitch black starry skies and the dramatically formed red rocks will inspire you to find a stillness in the midst of the of busyness that we experience in our everyday lives.
There are a few nice restaurants in and around Torrey. The Chuck Wagon in Torrey offers has a fair selection of basic grocery needs. The nearest full size grocery store is in Loa about 20-25 min. away. If you plan to make your own meals I would suggest bringing your own food to cook. There is a sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and a grill for your use. There isn't a stove or freezer in the apartment.
  • Incredible location! The views are tremendous. It's a nice clean apartment, very close to Torrey. Lee greeted us upon arrival and was a very nice host, even left us a few beers in the fridge. We grilled outside both nights, which was fun. There was one issue with wifi during our stay, it went down the second night. But it was because some power line in the area was felled the night before, not their fault! Otherwise a terrific place to lay your head.

    Jonah2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience in the little apartment was great. The apartment was impeccably clean which is of the utmost importance to us. The home is clearly new and they did a good job picking nice appliances and furnishing the place. We originally picked this place because we wanted to be driving distance from the national parks like Bryce and Zion. It turns out we enjoyed the Capitol Reef National Parks best of all of those parks and wish we had decided to spend more nights in the apartment. The only small problem we had was that the thermostat was in the main house, so we had little control over the temperature. When we texted Lee she had someone come to the house within 30 minutes to turn up the heat, but then the heat was a bit too high for the rest of our stay. Lee is in the process of getting a remote thermostat control so hopefully this won't be an issue in the future. In all honesty though this was one of the absolute best stops on our road trip and we would not only recommend it to others, we will consider going back and renting the big house :) Lee paid attention to all the possible details and includes nice little touches like hiking maps and suggestions, extra tooth brushes, nice kitchen utensils, etc. to make the stay fabulous. The views are stunning and the stay is tranquil!

  • Not only is this place incredible to look at from the outside, it is comfortable and chic on the inside, too. The apartment is equipped with the necessities of home and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in (outside of my own). Prior to our stay, there was a water issue in Torrey. I was unsure of how this would effect our stay so I reached-out to Lee and she was quick to respond and even contacted local restaurants on our behalf to ensure there would not be an issue. I would highly recommend this desert oasis and will certainly be back!

  • This place was amazing. Clean and modern feel with amazing views waking up to the sunrise across red rock cliffs. Lee was great at communicating and after a long day in the field I got back after everything had closed and there was hot chocolate mix there in the kitchenette which I had been craving. Hoping to stay here again.

  • Lee did a great job with the written description on how to get there and also supported us in advance by answering questions when we couldn't find it on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps (too new). Best to use her directions listed on Airbnb rather than maps (at least near term). She also was great to provide code instructions in advance we needed to get into the property. She has an eye for detail and so all went smoothly and the space reflected that as well. The property itself is awesome with great views, quiet neighborhood, and a nice new space. We really liked Torrey (our first trip there) with a few good restaurants, easy access to Capitol Reef, and a nice trip to Escalante on Hwy 12 (Boulder on the way a particular favorite). We would highly recommend both the property as well as the location!

  • Had an amazing experience with this Airbnb. We fell completely in love with Heir Bob's place:) He was super-accommodating--had great breakfast items, plenty of coffee (and half and half!), helpful maps and books, cozy furnishings, helpful tips on where to eat, what to see in the park, where to get wine, great wifi...he answered all of my inquiries so promptly. And the apt was simply adorable. Just the right size for two! And the view was more than spectacular! And I got to see the Big Dipper out the big window, right on the horizon, all night long! Beautiful way to see the sun rise and set across the desert. Hated to leave. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet hideaway in the amazing Capitol Reef area.

  • Heir made a paradise on earth! What a great place to stay. A man with a good taste and a excellent feeling for details. The view was amazing! There was even a nice breakfast in the morning! We also got a very interesting excursion in his garden!

  • The apartment is very clean and cozy. The view to the Capitol Reef is amazing. Bob has all that you need for the breakfast. The bed was a little bit to short for us. Thank you Bob for a great stay.

  • Amazing. Like a second home. I will definitely be keeping in touch. A perfect place after a few days of hiking, camping, and spending time in the elements. An escape without escaping. Highly recommended!

  • Heir was greatly helpful and accommodating from the very start. We had everything we could have needed for a comfortable stay. The view of the red rocks in the backyard was beautiful and awe-inspiring. Wish we could have stayed an extra night. We will definitely plan to stay here again if we visit Torrey in the future.

  • Lovely location with views directly out to the red rock for sunrise and sunset. Comfortable bed (if a little small) and good shower. Bob was very helpful and friendly and provided lots of goodies (yogurts, bagels etc) in the room. Campfire out on the patio would have made the evening watching stars a little warmer but sadly we weren't intrepid enough to get it going.

  • This was my best all around airbnb experience to date. My wife and I spent the week at Heir Bob's place and couldn't have hoped for a better vacation. The location is perfect, very close to the national park and to local restaurants and amenities. The accommodations were comfortable, the surroundings absolutely beautiful, and Heir Bob is a very thoughtful and considerate host as well as an interesting guy to get to know. If you are considering a Utah vacation I highly recommend Heir Bob and Capitol Reef national park.

  • We stayed at the Cactus Hill Motel on our way through visiting Capitol Reef State Park. It's a lovely little motel with a nice outdoor spot. I didn't meet Linda, but she was very communicative online and her brother, who was the one that checked us in, was very nice. The motel is 15 minutes outside of a small town that had some cute restaurants and coffee spots. Views from the room were great, and the room itself had everything we needed and was extremely clean. The walls are pretty thin, but there are only 3 other rooms, and it doesn't seem like the kind of place to attract a loud bunch.

  • Linda welcomed us at the end of a long hot trip. She was warm and friendly; the room was spacious, clean, and quiet; and the breeze was amazing! The towns of Teasdale and Torrey were both charming and the scenery is gorgeous. Wish we could have stayed longer!
