“There are a range of bars and two bistro style restaurants. You can sit outside in the tropical themed resort like courtyards with water features, lounge seating or indoors by the open fire. There is also a gambling room if you like the pokie machines and a sports bar. Good food, good prices and friendly staff. There is also live music, trivia and theme nights.”

“If you’re headed towards Palm Beach, stop off at this Japanese import shop in Terrey Hills. It’s long been a favourite of mine for kimono fabrics, stone pots and temples, screens with silk borders, and gorgeous antique chests made of bamboo, cane, and wood. Anything here adds a touch of international intrigue to a room. They always have a great selection of beautiful Japanese screens—often featuring calligraphy or gilding and images of birds—which can be used as headboards for beds. Kimono fabrics from their collection can be sewn into covers or cushions to complete the look.”

Professional & Other Places
“A scenic 50-km ride, the Akuna Bay and West Head Loop starts at McCarrs Creek Road in Terrey Hills. Well-paved roads overlook the national park, with a nice descent along Coal and Candle Creek. The West Head lookout has spectacular views of the Central Coast and Palm Beach Headland, and—given the number of cyclists here—drivers are respectful. Extend the ride a further eight km to Cottage Point—remembering you’ll have to climb back out—and be rewarded with a beautiful dining spot at Cottage Point. Head to the Inn if you’ve packed a change of outfit, the Kiosk if you didn’t.”
