Places to stay in Texas
Book a couple of nights with us and experience glamping in the Texas hill country! With a hot tub, fire pit, outdoor shower, basic kitchen, queen bed, wifi, TV, small library of western movies, and 10 beautiful creekside acres, this trailer is a hit no matter what the season or the weather. Our retro Airstream has been featured in many Texas travel lists and magazine articles (Southern Living, Apt Therapy, Dallas Morning News, The Sun (UK), Outside Magazine and more). Come stay a spell...
Do you ever daydream about jumping in a travel trailer and heading west? Are you enamored with the vintage style of a bygone era? Do you enjoy camping, but secretly wish you had a real bed, wifi and a bathroom? If so, the Dixie Daisy is for you! This cute Airstream trailer has been completely renovated with a retro twist. It’s the perfect place to escape for a relaxing weekend surrounded by nature, yet equipped with the conveniences of home. Grill up a yummy dinner with your honey and dine al fresco on the large deck, take a morning stroll along the creek, turn on the string lights for some mood lighting, take a dip in the hot tub, enjoy your morning shower under the trees in the private, spacious outdoor shower (room for two!), and end your day relaxing by the fire with an ice cold beer. This is the life! The Dixie Daisy provides all the comforts of home in one cute, cozy package. The antique iron bedframe holds a queen mattress, the bathroom has a small interior shower and a real toilet, the kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and utensils, and alongside the deck is a charcoal grill and fire bowl for your night-time fire. The owners really go out of their way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as leaving fresh eggs in the fridge (as long as the chickens keep up) and local organic coffee. They also strive to make this property as green as possible by using environmentally friendly dish soap and laundry detergent, providing recycled paper products and full recycling, using low-wattage light bulbs, and more. This cozy retreat is nestled in an elm grove along the banks of Smith Creek on 10 beautiful acres shared with the owners. You’ll really feel like you’ve escaped to nature, yet the fabulous shopping and dining of downtown Wimberley are only 3 miles down the road. It’s the best of both worlds! So, what are you waiting for? The Dixie Daisy is the unique getaway you’ve been dreaming of. We are confident that it will exceed your expectations! Pet policy: Pets are allowed for a fee of $50 per pet, and we ask that you leave cash or check for the pet fee with the keys upon checkout. Pets must be declared to the owners in advance, preferably at the time of booking. We ask that if dogs are left unattended that they be crated and that they remain on leash when wandering the property if they might be inclined to chase a child, cat, or chicken or wander off. Thanks for understanding! Single night bookings: We have a two night minimum, but when there is a single night gap in the schedule we are happy to accept a single night booking for an additional $25. Just shoot us a message with your date and we'll go from there.
Wimberley is a lovely little town full of unique shops, swimming holes, and friendly folks. We think you'll love your visit here!
  • We had such a great time staying at Jennifer and Gregory’s! Such a fun and unique experience that we would recommend to anyone!

    Vanessa2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with thoughtful touches and in a great location. Peaceful property close to Wimberley.

    Andrea2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We can't say enough fabulous things about the Dixie Daisy- our only complaint is that we should have booked at least another night, if not two. The setting was idyllic and felt super secluded despite being so close to everything. From the little touches like farm fresh eggs from their "egg-centric" hens, to the gorgeous jewel of a hot tub, - we just couldn't get enough! We got to see a little snow, too (from the shelter of our heated bed). We will definitley be returning!

    Anna2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, loved everything about it!

    Edgar2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place has a very quaint atmosphere and the quite surrounding helps you to unwind and the hot tub was a plus.

    Mercedes2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The little Airstream trailer takes you back to a more simpler time. The decor is so cute. The details of everything were great and definitely a unique experience!

    Jennifer2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I expected our stay to be great but great would be an understatement! Greg and Jen are incredible hosts. They leave recommendations, fresh coffee and eggs, and make the space incredible comfy and home-y! The property is beautiful and my wife and I couldn’t have had a better weekend!

  • Excellent, I would recommend this place.

This log cabin sits on a beautiful piece of the Hill Country. Smith Creek meanders through the 10 acres that Jen and Gregory share with their guests, who rave about their scenic nature walks, relaxing hot tub soaks, or night time fireside chats.
Three Graces Cabin is a true retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet only minutes from the fabulous shopping and dining of downtown Wimberley. This romantic one bedroom cabin is nestled in an idyllic grove of oaks and cedar trees along the banks of Smith Creek. The cabin is situated on a private section of 10 gorgeous Hill Country acres that are shared with the owners. Take a stroll along the creek, watch the deer graze as you enjoy your morning coffee, strum your guitar beside the fire pit, view the stars from the deluxe hot tub, have a picnic in the tree house, get cozy with your honey alongside the old fashioned wood-burning stove, and feel the stress of your daily life melt away. In Greek mythology, the Three Graces are the Goddesses of Joy, Charm, and Beauty, three virtues that embody the spirit of Three Graces Cabin. Here you get the privacy and serenity of a country cabin with the amenities of modern life, including wifi. The cedar canopy bed and much of the furniture in Three Graces was designed and constructed by the owner, a professional woodworker. Every detail was selected to complement the rustic furnishings with a modern twist. At Three Graces the owners are environmentally conscious. They offer full recycling, use environmentally friendly dish soap and laundry detergent, provide recycled paper products, offer a reverse-osmosis filtration system to eliminate the need for bottled water, and landscape with native low-water plants. We are confident that Three Graces Cabin will exceed your expectations. Just read some of the comments from the previous guests. The owners really go out of their way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as leaving fresh eggs from their hens in the fridge (when the chickens can keep up) and local, organic coffee. You won’t want to leave Three Graces, but you can always come back for another visit! Note: We have a two night minimum policy, but when there is a single night gap in the schedule we are willing to accept single night bookings for an additional $25. Pet policy: Pets allowed at $50 per pet and we ask that you leave cash or check for the pet fee with the keys upon checkout. We ask that if dogs are left unattended at the cabin that they be crated and that they remain on leash while on our property if they might be inclined to chase a cat, chicken or child. Thanks!
Wimberley is a charming town with great little shops, tasty restaurants, some of the best natural swimming holes in the state and scenic wineries. Come stay a spell...

  • Great romantic cabin to spend weekend !

    Olga2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very clean cabin and a very nice hot tub with everything secluded and the hosts were nice enough to put eggs in the fridge fresh from they're farm. They also have a nice little creek running through the property.

    Nick2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome 👏

    Mehmet Ali2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was my perfect kind of getaway. Enough privacy to get away, but still close to local shopping and grocery store. The porch was so pleasant to sit and read in the rocking chairs. The hot tub at night is a must. Turn out all of the lights and look up to gaze at the stars. It was beautiful and had been a long time since I’d seen the stars that bright. Our Golden Retriever loved the stay as well. We took her to walk the trails at Blue Hole and look forward to swimming there in the summer. We had such a lovely trip here.

OK, so it is not a house built in a tree, but The Tree House does sit high in the air, nestled among towering oak and pine trees. Our Tree House cabin is the crowning achievement of our Cora’s Cabin complex. This one bedroom, one bath is great for you and your special someone to enjoy a night or two away from your crazy, busy life, but still able to connect to WiFi. Roast s’mores over your personal fire pit or throw steaks on the grill at the base of your cabin....Come on you know you want to..
Cora’s Cabins are 2 miles north of Tyler State Park, 20min from downtown Tyler, mid-way between Dallas and Shreveport on I-20. We are a mile from Tiger Creek Refuge, and 10 min from Miranda Lambert's hometown of Lindale. We are secluded, but we make sure you stay connected.
Your in the country 20 min from Tyler but 4 miles from I20
  • Great place!

    Harrison2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The tree house was absolutely amazing! Everything was so thoughtful - little chocolates on the bed, coffee pods, fire starters, toiletries. The location was great, the tiger sanctuary is just down the road and the caldwell zoo is 15 mins out. I loved how quiet and peaceful it was at night. We will definitely return!

    Annika2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Does not disappoint

    Marisa2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Southern hospitality, with a great touch of class

    Grant2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, friendly, and helpful.

    Colby2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We celebrated my husband 60’s birthday. We needed to just get away and unplugged and refresh. The tree house was exactly want we needed. Harlan was a great host and his dog Thang was a great tour guide of the property. The Tree house was very clean and cozy. The best part was sitting rocking on the porch listening to the wind going through the trees.

    Linda2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing place to stay. Friendly owners. There wasn’t anything left out or undone or I thought of from the wine to the welcome note to the space. It was absolutely perfect. Will definitely return to this space many times. It’s like a little piece of heaven in earth. Thank you guys for the amazing stay.

    Tiffany2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • My wife and I came to Fredricksburg to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. I can't say enough great things about our stay at Mary's place! If you're planning to stay in Fredricksburg, try your best to stay here. Very private, close to main street, 25 minutes from enchanted rock (an incredibly scenic drive), and an incredible morning view filled with deer. There are so many great places within 5 minutes. The German Schmear Cottage is tucked away on a quiet street in the Mountainview area. It is centrally located (HEB, Target, and Starbucks are right down the road) and only 10-15 minutes from downtown, the Silos, and Baylor. Once a detached garage, this 400 square foot space is now a cozy, modern living space and is on the property of the main German Schmear (fixer upper) house, which is also a vacation rental. See pictures for more detailed information about the tiny house.
This newly renovated tiny house offers a quaint living space, kitchen, full bathroom, large closet, and a lofted sleeping space. Refer to the pictures to see the staircase that leads to the loft, in which there is a queen mattress. The couch folds out into a queen size bed. The cozy kitchen provides a full refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, a coffee maker, coffee, a toaster, and an electric stove (no dishwasher). The full bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, cotton swabs, cotton pads, and a hair dryer. The cafe lights create the perfect ambiance for the outdoor living area.
The neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful. It is a great area to go on walks. To respect our kind neighbors, we just ask that you keep the noise down outside after 9:00pm.

Try out container home living in this unique tiny home! Sleeps 2 people in the custom Murphy® bed with a super-comfy Tuft & Needle™ queen size mattress. Kitchen and dining area features induction cooktop, fridge and custom knotty alder tabletop. Hang out on the spacious rooftop deck that lights up beautifully at night with the color-adjustable LED rail lights. *** In light of the current pandemic, we have upgraded our already stringent cleaning protocols. In addition to our standard top to bottom clean between every stay, all surfaces in the house, including door handles, light switches, counters and tabletops, pillows and mattresses and of course, the entire bathroom are disinfected with a CDC-approved disinfectant that completely kills all viruses. Our cleaning protocols go far beyond what you will find in most all traditional hotels and are the same as the top luxury 5-star hotels. We are taking the health and safety of you, our guests, as well as our cleaners and staff, very seriously in this time.*** This unique home started as a 20’ shipping container. We insulated and paneled the interior in pine shiplap. The outside is clad with cedar siding with spacing to allow the original container to still be seen. Entry is through the original container doors. We removed the steel panels from the doors and replaced them with picturesque full glass. The fun rooftop deck is surrounded by a custom cable railing system and lit with fully color-adjustable LED lights under the rail that gives the deck a beautiful glow at night. The deck is accessed by an alternating step stairway.

    Macey2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I’m not one for words, especially when I’m left speechless, thanks to an amazing experience such as the one we had staying here. We got in a little later than expected. Check in was smooth and easy. The first thing we noticed - the home was immaculate. Then we see a cute little personal note, INSTANTLY making us feel at home (as a matter of fact, everyday we were out and about, when we we’re done with our day, we’d catch each other saying “Lets go home”). We felt comfortable in no time. Again, everything in the home was immaculate. Fresh linens. Fresh towels. Clean kitchen. Spotless bathroom. The whole nine yards. Extremely comfortable. The place was clean, cozy, intimate, private, and perfect. We loved a it and can’t wait to be back. With just a short little drive to all the Magnolia attractions and other cool little spots, this is the place to stay to make the experience that much better. Whoever stays here WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Guys, thank you. Til next time :-)

  • This Airbnb is phenomenal! My husband and I chose it for a quick 24 hr getaway and we wish we would have booked it for longer! WOW! The Birdhouse is stunning, the location was peaceful and Glen Rose is adorable! I think our favorite part was standing out on the balcony looking at the Texas night sky and the millions of stars you could see for miles. It was exactly what we needed and such a great value for what you get! We WILL be back!

  • This is a fabulous place for quiet reflection and staying in. It is small and cozy! The view is fantastic and the amenities are so much better than I expected! If you want to explore, however, there is plenty to do in that regard! Go! You’ll be glad you did.

  • Pictures do not do it justice. Even with the main house being fairly close by, they give you the option of privacy if you so choose. Perfect little getaway & sweetest Pups ever!

Come experience this completely remolded shotgun house along the Trinity River. This Historic area of Dallas originally settled by Freed Slaves is 1.5 miles from Downtown. I designed this space with AirBnb travelers in mind as I am a frequent AirBnb guest. You have private access to your studio space. Queen size bed. Small kitchenette. High speed wifi. Smart TV. And a fantastic, spacious bathroom. The backyard deck is just outside your door. You have one the best downtown views in the city.
I provide Coffee roasted at local roaster/coffee shop that is about a mile away (Its a great spot to hang out and meet interesting locals :) look it up Full City Rooster.
This neighborhood is in transition. It is sandwiched by 2 of the hottest neighborhoods on town, Bishop Arts and the Cedars. It is about 1 mile in either direction to get to these trendy area and about 1.5 miles into downtown. You also easy access to Cowboys and Rangers stadiums and Six Flags.
  • Loved this place! Was the perfect place to end our trip to Dallas. Clean, cute and cozy.

  • Super cute Airbnb, it was clean and you get everything you need.

  • Great little place for a great price! Stefan is a great host and we felt very welcomed and taken care of! Really quiet location that's tucked out of the way. It seems a little sketchy at first but I wouldn't worry about the location. The place itself was clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable. The shower temperature was a little low and it was hard not to get water all over the bathroom, but it wasn't too big of an issue. Overall, it was a great experience!

    Grady2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay! Cute studio close to downtown. Easy check in, clean, cozy, and inexpensive!

    Julissa2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay close to downtown! (Cheap Uber ride too!) The host was very hospitable, he has a very nice tenant next door that came over to introduce herself, wished me a happy birthday and offered to help if we needed anything. We didn’t see much of her after that, and we appreciated the privacy with also knowing there was someone close by to help if we needed anything. Definitely recommend and would stay at this location again!

Walk to the Silos and Downtown from the Steps of the Shotgun House This distinctive house, popularized by appearing on Fixer Upper, stands just a block from the Silos and Waco’s vibrant downtown scene. The sunny space contains large windows and beautiful hardwood floors that lead from the front door, past the gourmet kitchen, to your cozy sleeping quarters. Conveniently located near great dining and wonderful shopping opportunities, allows you to take in all Waco has to offer.
This historic Waco house is in the heart of downtown, near Baylor University. The Magnolia Silos are down the street, as are countless restaurants.
  • Very very clean and awesome to see in person after seeing the story of how it was built on tv! it was very centrally located for Magnolia, Baylor and Downtown Waco. They are great hosts and quick to respond if you need anything.

At the tip top of the Texas hill country, The Nest offers spectacular views from its perch. As the latest addition to Skybox Cabins, The Nest is a hybrid cabin with features of both a treehouse and a bohemian bungalow. This truly customized getaway, is filed with wonders from the portal entry to its Texas cedar observatory. Once you arrive at this "Pinterest perfect" cabin, you'll never want to leave.
To access The Nest, you must follow the rock path through the portal gate and onto the front porch. The cedar harvested from our property surrounds over half the cabin and provides a decorative camouflage. From the cover of nearby cedar and hardwoods, you are guaranteed a concert from our local birds and maybe even a gobble from the wild turkeys. Deer, jack rabbits, horses and a couple of cows may also pay you a visit. The Nest is furnished with electricity, hot water and air conditioning/heating. A small refrigerator, coffee maker, induction cooktop and microwave can be found in the kitchenette. There is no TV or Internet so bring a book or maybe just good company! The following will also be provided with your stay: Bed linens and pillows (Queen size memory foam bed) Towels Shampoo/Conditioner Body wash/Soap Picnic grill (provide your own charcoal) Plates, glasses, silverware, some cooking utensils, pots and pans Water filtration system with drinking water on tap at the kitchen sink Some snacks and drinks
Our property is located among other large acreage properties in a rural area.
  • The nest is spectacular. It has everything you need and is quite magical. It’s quiet and peaceful and brings you back to nature. It’s close to fossil rim and dinosaur valley and downtown glen rose and so much more. I can’t wait until we can return.

    Angela2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!! We stayed at the Nest for our honeymoon and it was WONDERFUL! We felt so loved & welcomed the moment we stepped inside. It was such a lovely spot to spend our first week as husband & wife. The property was beautiful, thoughtful touches in the air bnb, phenomenal hospitality & Kristin is great!!

    Adriana2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay! Cannot wait to come back!

    Brittany2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Nest is like something out of a movie. Such a relaxing space with the privacy needed for a great getaway. All the amenities you need to tuck yourself away for the weekend or explore Glen Rose and the surrounding area with great local recommendations from Kristin and Yvan. Can't wait to come back to the Nest or stay in one of the other Skybox Cabins!

    Ryan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a stunning place and a wonderful host. Kristen was extremely responsive and helpful, available when needed, yet giving us privacy and quiet. The place is beautifully designed, with every amenity provided. We couldn’t wait to get back at the end of the day to enjoy it. Will definitely return.

    Farah2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts and magical accommodations! The animals we encountered while walking the property were an added bonus. Already planning our next stay!

    Natalie2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Better than expected and so close to home! We got a chance to disconnect from our busy life at home and to really enjoy each other and the outdoors :)

    Stephanie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't do this place justice! This is easily the best AirBnB I've ever stayed at and I can't wait to go back! The home is absolutely beautiful, but the property makes it one of a kind. Every detail of the place is so well thought out and makes me want to remodel my entire place! Kristin was so thoughtful the whole time and checked in with us the perfect amount! I felt completely safe throughout our trip and we were nice and cozy even though it was 29° one night! I would recommend this place to anyone and wish I could give it more than five stars!

Due to COVID19, we want to confirm our standard cleaning process for guests: - Kitchen and bathroom are cleaned with windex and clorox - Comforter is laundered between every stay (as are all linens/towels, of course) - Fabric-covered chair and throw pillows have been removed - All surfaces are wiped down (fridge, microwave, table, light switches, etc.) - Clorox wipes provided for extra peace of mind Rental highlights: - Complimentary bikes - EV charging for Tesla drivers - Minutes to Lady Bird Lake - 1 GB fiber Internet - Pets allowed ($25 fee)
The Kanga Tiny House comfortably sleeps two people, sharing a queen bed. If you are traveling with a third person, or simply need extra sleeping space, we have a twin-sized air mattress available for you to borrow, or a pac'n'play for a little one. (Please ask for this in your reservation request if you need it). Floor space is limited, so we may rearrange furniture to comfortably accommodate your group. Check-in time is 3pm or later. Access is through a keyless lock for which you'll be provided a code prior to approval, so late night check-ins are not a problem. Check-out time is 12pm. Dogs are permitted on a case-by-case basis for an additional per visit fee of $25, and approval must be obtained ahead of a booking being made. The fee will be added to the booking through a booking alteration/special offer. In cases of Instant Books, we'll submit a request for pet fee payment through the Airbnb system. Guests must keep their dogs supervised at all times when in the yard, leashed when outside the yard, and must pick up after them. The Kanga Tiny House is roughly 200 square feet, and features: - 1GB fiber Internet (through WiFi Airport Extreme) - We have a Roku TV with several free apps and a Netflix subscription. - USB Charger for your devices - Wireless Charging Pad from Ikea (your device must be wireless enabled) We keep the place well stocked with all of the basics, as well as extra towels and blankets. We recommend taking Uber/Lyft unless you feel like a 30 minute walk, - 3 blocks away from the Lady Bird Lake trailhead on Pleasant Valley, for walking/biking/running (by Longhorn Dam). If you enjoy exploring on foot, or alternative transit options like bikes and buses, this is a good spot for you. You'll be just one block away from Cesar Chavez St, a major thoroughfare that goes into downtown, where there's an eclectic mix of dining, drinking, retail, services, gas stations, and single family homes. We're only a few short blocks from the Lady Bird Lake trail and head over Longhorn Dam, which pops you out onto a hiking, biking, and running loop that is several miles long. The boardwalk over the lake provides great views of downtown. There are plenty of things in walking distance, and we recommend looking at our Guidebook for more details. Our favorites for food & groceries: - JuiceLand on E Cesar Chavez, a smoothie & juice spot, approx. 3 minutes away - Tacos Guerrero on Cesar Chavez & Pleasant Valley, fantastic breakfast tacos for only $2 a piece - La Barbecue on E Cesar Chavez (we recommend preordering, at least 5 days in advance, to save yourself a couple of hours in a long line for the best brisket in town). - Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, 1.5 blocks away, fantastic Texas & Japanese fusion food - Juniper, 1 block away, a small plates restaurant with great cocktails - Counter Culture on E Cesar Chavez, a vegan restaurant, 2 blocks away - Blue Owl Brewing, a sour-mashed beer micro brewery, 1 block away - Juniper, a classy Italian restaurant with great wine and outdoor seating, 1 block away - HEB on E 7th, a grocery store, approx. 10 minutes away - Hi Hat on E 6th, a gastropub, approx. 15 minutes away - Counter Cafe on E 6th, a breakfast & lunch diner, approx. 15 minutes away - Launderette on Holly St at St Martinez Jr St has one of the best burgers in town plus a tasty rotating dessert menu. There are many more options for dining and services. If you prefer to drive to any of these you'll get there in less than 5 minutes. We are avid travelers ourselves, and love staying with AirBnB hosts any chance we get. We want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and are completely open to frank feedback on how to improve your time in the Kanga Tiny House.
The guesthouse is in the gentrifying East Side neighborhood. It's a wonderful, artsy, quirky place in the heart of the East Side entertainment district. There are countless restauraunts, food trucks, bars, and even four breweries within walking distance. Lady Bird Lake and the hike and bike trail are just a couple blocks away. The Convention Center is minutes away and all of downtown is easily accessible by e-scooter, e-bike, and rideshare. We are just 10 minutes from the airport.
  • The Tiny House is very cozy & trendy. The bed was sooo comfortable making it hard to start my days :) Anna & Chad were very thoughtful and communicated well & quickly. It was easy to get in and out of the Tiny House. My fur babies also enjoyed staying there. Will definitely stay there again.

  • Such a cute little place. Hosts are wonderful, and they give you tons of privacy. As a private person, I really appreciated this. If you reach out, they respond quickly and can accommodate your needs. Cute little area in East Austin away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Quiet and heard birds chirping in the mornings. Peaceful place to get away.

  • Such a cute little place and Anna and Chad made the tiny home feel very cozy and put together ! Toiletries, towels, and snacks were provided which was super convenient! It rained while we were there and an umbrella was provided too, thank goodness because we forgot ours! Anna and Chad were readily available but gave us our privacy as well! The location was great and in a safe neighborhood as well! Definitely would stay here again :) Thank you Anna and Chad !

  • I am so happy to have found this jewel of a place to stay when I need it. The overall feeling was one of comfort, simplicity, cool character, and thoughtfulness - can't think of one thing that I needed - they thought of it all. Very private yet homey, especially since you can hear the 2 chickens for a few minutes in the mornings - I loved that. I met Chad and his 2 children and dogs, and had a great conversation about Air BnB. Everything was spotless, and instructions were clear. I look forward to returning!

Unwind on the deck and take in the beauty of the Texas Hill Country in this west Austin retreat. This guesthouse is surrounded by nature and wildlife with easy lake access and great hiking trails nearby. Enjoy the roll-up door to bring the outside in and extend the living room onto the deck. If you're looking for a relaxing 5-star experience, this is your place!
If you love the outdoors, you will love this place. We built it in an effort to bring the outdoors in. You can raise the glass "garage door" to have a beautiful view of nature and hear the wet weather creek running. You may even spot a deer or fox. It has a cozy king bed and we can also provide a luxury blow up mattress.
The home is in a very private neighborhood with lots between two and 10 acres. The area is secluded and private, yet only 12 miles to downtown, two miles to Lake Austin, 10 miles to Lake Travis, and less than 10 minutes from a range of restaurants.
  • Stayed for 9 days and loved every minute of it. The house was perfect. The roll up giant door is an incredible way to enjoy the beautiful and very private deck and surrounding property. This house offers a unique guest experience.

  • This place has it all! It is in the middle of the woods in a gorgeous neighborhood. It is a short drive from Emma Long park, which has beautiful scenery and excellent trails. The home literally has everything you could want and of high quality - the cookware was actually excellent Calphalon. The place was spotless. Can’t say enough good things about the home!

    Daniel2020-02-07T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful time at Jon-Marc and Gigi’s. The location is quiet and peaceful, and the cottage itself is out of this world. It was very easy for us to relax there, which is exactly what we needed for our getaway. Would definitely recommend to other travelers!

    Amber2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn’t have been happier with the space that Jon-Marc and Gigi provided. It was cute, comfortable, quiet, and the surrounding area was just lovely - a great neighborhood to take a walk in! We also loved how private it felt - even with the hosts living in the same property - the cottage (and driveway) was separate and the surrounding trees made us feel like we had the place to ourselves. All in all, a fantastic experience!

    Colin2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I booked this place for one reason: to carve out a little peace and quiet on the cusp of the new year. Jon-Marc & Gigi's home's not only met that need, it exceeded it. The photos speak well to the design of the space—which is really, really beautifully done—but not to how cozy it is, nor how remote it feels despite being an easy drive into Austin proper. My recommendation: book this property for at least a few nights. You cat at Fonda San Miguel your first night and then buy groceries to cook or grill on the second night. When you're not eating, you can be forgiven for otherwise staying in and enjoying the amenities while taking in the silence of the woods all around you. (Speaking of amenities, the mattress is wonderful, the heated toilet seat is life-changing, the kitchen and grill and Nespresso machine are greatly appreciated.) This was a seriously wonderful way to spend the last few days of 2019. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Matt2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this cottage made it possible for us to get away from the busy lifestyle of the city without having to be far away from civilization. This place exceeded my expectations and the hidden features are proof that Jon-Marc and Gigi are excellent hosts.

My cabin is a hidden gem in Urbandale, a neighborhood only 15 minutes from downtown that's filled with unique architecture, old trees, and multicultural flavor. Crafted from pine felled and hand-planed in Boone, NC, the cabin has a wonderful smell and unique aesthetic. It's like a woodcutter's home deep in the woods, yet sits safely in my verdant backyard. Covered parking is removed from the road and secure. Already booked or need more space? Check out my Airstream!
This microhouse is one-of-a-kind, crafted by a true artisan. Its decor was collected over years of careful selection. Strong A/C and heat emit from the same window unit. The definition of cozy! One of the best glamping spots in Texas, according to TravelPirates, one of the coolest Airbnbs in Dallas, according to the Dallas Observer, and the most wish-listed Airbnb in Dallas according to Dallas Business Journal.
White Rock Lake, The Dallas Arboretum, The Great Trinity Forest, Trinity Audubon Center, and Oak Cliff are also nearby.
  • I stayed just a night for my husband's birthday, and we'll definitely come back again!!! It's like a beautiful cabin I've been dreaming. My dog was so happy to stay too. Thank you Grady for being very nice to us.

  • We had a fantastic stay. The cabin was cozy and comfortable in a beautiful setting. We liked that it was a short drive to catch our flight at Dallas/Love Field airport.

    Kristin2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • It is a quiet get away right in the middle of the big city. Technically the Cabin is in the guys backyard but it's soo spacious you don't really notice it too much. The cabin feels very authentic, like something right out of the 1800's, with some modern touches.

    Clinton2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

Sleep like a dream in a custom bed with a super-comfy Tuft & Needle mattress. This unique home is crafted in pine shiplap, offset by a custom knotty alder table top. Illuminate the expansive rooftop deck with the color-adjustable LED rail lights.
This unique home started as a 20’ shipping container. We insulated and paneled the interior in pine shiplap. The outside is clad with cedar siding with spacing to allow the original container to still be seen. Entry is through the original container doors. We removed the steel panels from the doors and replaced them with picturesque full glass. The fun rooftop deck is surrounded by a custom cable railing system and lit with LED lights under the rail that gives the deck a beautiful glow at night. The deck is accessed by an alternating step stairway.
The rural setting is in a safe neighborhood just north of Waco. Shop and dine in the Homestead Cafe and Craft Village, only 3 minutes away. The airport and I-35 access are both close, with the many attractions of downtown Waco easily reachable.
  • Adorable place, exactly as advertised and in a cute location near cows...and so close to all things Magnolia and more! Check in and check out were so easy and great communication from the owners!! 10/10 would stay again for sure!!!

    Tracie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in this adorable tiny home was a great experience! We stayed in the smallest option with the murphy bed, and I was a little worried about the comfort level of the bed, but it was soooo comfortable. The entire home was decorated perfectly, down to every detail. Even the shower soap was hand crafted and locally made. The hosts were incredibly kind in their messages, and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. The home was a quick, easy drive down to Waco and the Silos. The Heritage Homestead right down the road was a pleasant surprise as well, and I highly recommend going to check that out! We spent a couple hours there. We had a phenomenal experience, and if we are ever back in this area, we will definitely try this out again.

    Laura2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great find! Super close to downtown Waco and the Silos. Very quaint! Tiny for sure but every inch of space was used appropriately. Happened to stay on a very chilly Texas night (32 degrees!) and the heating/cooling unit kept us nice and warm. Had a minor fluke with the shower which was resolved within 20 minutes from my first call to the owners. Very impressed with their quick and professional response. The gentleman that came over to solve the problem also was very professional and friendly! Definitely hope to stay here again :) don’t miss out on the opportunity to stay in this unique place!

    Cara2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome little getaway spot. A perfectly designed tiny home with everything you need to enjoy your stay and more! Very well layed out inside with lights, decor and furniture. The cows out front are very welcoming and a neat touch to the place as well.

    Brandon2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to stay! So impressed. We had just one night there but thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. It is beautifully decorated and everything was so well thought out. The upper deck was a great addition. The bed was very VERY comfortable! It was just a short drive from downtown Waco. We would definitely stay here again!

  • This tiny house was a great experience. It is great for one or two travelers. Joel decorated the place very well too! It had a very unique vibe to it that fit right into the Austin scene. It’s located about a 10 minute uber ride from downtown. I would definitely stay here again.

  • The pictures don't do this tiny house the justice it deserves. Much bigger in person. This place was perfect for my wife and I on Valentine's Day weekend. We'd definitely stay here again. Thanks Joel!

If you’ve ever wanted to try tiny living, this is the perfect place to feel at home and experiment with the lifestyle. The loft bedroom and the beauty of the tiny bathroom were our favorite parts.

  • Wonderful place and great host!

    Perfecto2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our best Airbnb experience to date! Not only is the place gorgeous, it is comfortable, cozy and convenient! Besides the little surprise touches, I've never seen such explicit instructions--even a diagram about how to open and close the little computer table! Communication was warm and quick. Two days of rain and cool temperatures didn't diminish the enjoyment. It was a little paradise. Thank you again and again!

  • The place is amazing. The views from the balcony are breathtaking. Nicole has thought of all the possible must haves and even the smallest necessities. She was quick to respond to any questions we had. We will definitely plan another stay here.

  • We had a wonderful time at Casita Cove. It was not only everything we expected, Nicole made our anniversary very memorable with thoughtful touches. She is no doubt a pro host. We will also visit again...

    Robbie2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great time and beautiful space!

    Sheresa2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is great. It’s the perfect retreat, with views over the lake from the private covered balcony. Nicole had prepared it thoughtfully. As for “things to do”, why would you want to leave the island with this peace and tranquillity? There are nice walking opportunities in the company of the deer on the peninsula, and on the island itself the gym was great. Didn’t try the tennis courts or the swimming pools but they’re there. Although Nicole left a list of possibilities, we concluded that our preferences for local shops and restaurants either didn’t exist, had limited opening hours or didn’t appeal so we did leave the island and went to Cedar Park about 20 miles away which has all the main outlets including a number of H-E-B supermarkets and an 85C Bakery café which we like. While out, we visited Georgetown, a really nice historic town with a lovely square and many eateries including a fantastic diner called the Monument Café. Lunch at the Dahlia café in Liberty Hill was sensational. We also very much enjoyed spending a half day on the Warbler vista trails in the Balcones National Wildlife Refuge which Nicole had recommended in her comprehensive guest guidebook.

  • Beautiful place to stay within walking distance of the lake. The trail to the lake is very clearly marked and is visible at night so you don’t have to worry about getting lost. We had 3 people stay which was about perfect for the size. Great hosts with good tips about things to do in the area.

  • We had such a great time at this perfect tiny home. It was everything we could have wanted for a relaxing weekend getaway. We spent the weekend exploring the town, hiking the trails, and trying out the local restaurants. When we got back from our exploring we relaxed in the hot tub and made s’mores by the fire outside. We would love to come back here soon! :)

  • Loved our stay! The space was perfect and Crystal was quick to respond to any questions we had.

  • Tiny but everything you need. It was a nice quiet retreat. It might be small, but it's got everything you'll need. Unfortunately it was pretty chilly and we so we didn't spend as much time outside as we normally would. But the doors to the little balcony had a great view and the sound of the rain on the roof in the evening was soothing. They're building another little place up the hill, and we're hopeful it'll show up too book in the future. Our hosts were friendly, out of the way but quickly available for any questions, and their taste is impeccable. The place was comfortable, uncluttered but stylish. We will return when there is sun and we can explore!

The fun rooftop deck is surrounded by a custom cable railing system and lit with LED lights under the rail that gives the deck a beautiful glow at night. The deck is accessed by an alternating step stairway.
Great, safe neighborhood in the country just north of Waco. 5 minutes from I-35 and 3 minutes from Homestead Cafe and Craft Village. Only 8 minute from the Waco airport.

  • From the get-go, Kenneth and Amanda were so pleasant and quick to respond to any of our questions and requests. The home itself was immaculate when we arrived and so cute! We were provided an easy to follow manual and QR codes all around the house so we really didn’t have too many questions for them while we were there. It was about a 10-15 minute drive to all the attractions and the area was nice and quiet. We definitely will come back and stay again!

  • It’s been a dream of mine to stay in a tiny house for forever! As well as visiting Magnolia- so this trip was a two for one! This house is INCREDIBLE. It’s so clean so cozy and tastefully decorated, once we checked in and went back out to adventure and I could only think about getting back here to relax! The hosts are top notch. This is THE best communication I have ever had and attention to detail from the hosts. Don’t wait-book this location now. You will not regret it!

Cozy backyard cabin with a minimal kitchen, maximum cool. There is one queen size bed in the loft , a fold out couch in the living room. And a cot in the shed. The yard is fenced off from the main house with its own entry gate on the side street. Small animals ok, no attack dogs, under 20 pounds.
At the entrance there is a good size deck with a table and two chairs and a chaise lounge. The great room is the main living space. The bathroom with a no curb shower is at the back off the living room. The mini kitchen is to the right of the living room. There is a small step down, so watch your step. The loft stairs are a bit steep , just to the right at entry . Tall people watch your head as you enter the loft.
Quickie Pickie is the de facto meetup spot. Great mochas! The Ironworks BBQ is a good substitute while Franklins BBQ while it is getting rebuilt. Justine’s is great food, as is Magnolia.
  • Great location, easy walk to downtown or anywhere on the east side. Free parking, nice and clean, and bikes available to use. I recommend Jake's place.

    Mike2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I really appreciate the kind and quick help when I had questions. The thoughtful touches - my favorite Yogi tea, simple breakfast items (cereal, milk, good coffee) were great additions. I really appreciate having a hair dryer and toiletries available. French press for coffee? Bonus points for the host!! I love the neighborhood and eclectic, diverse, artsy experience. I loved the easy access to information about local places to visit in the neighborhood. Directions were simple. Place is sparkling clean and the bed is super-comfy. Five stars for Jake, Janice and other hosts here. Highly recommend.

    Jackie2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic. My wife and i stayed here while exploring Austin for a few days and so glad we did. The house itself has anything you’d need to make your stay comfortable with plenty of outside space for lounging. The location is really ideal, with some of the East sides best restaurants, bars, and shops a short walk. We will def be staying here next time we’re in town

A remote, off-grid adobe dome, powered by solar power, and near Big Bend National Park.
Thanks to HGTV for taking an interest and for featuring the Dome on "Mighty Tiny Houses". I've had the fortune of hosting many incredible guests from around the world who have met the challenge of off grid living in the desert of Far West Texas, whether it be for one night, a week, or a month. Though the dome does offer one night rentals, I do urge you to stay at least 2 nights to really settle into off-grid life. It also makes the cleaning fee more justifiable to you. The dome makes a good base for daily trips to different sites, towns, and hikes around the Big Bend Region. Also, I'd like to mention, if it is not already implied, that as a host I subscribe to Airbnb's Community Commitment and nondiscrimination policy which states... " We believe that no matter who you are, where you are from, or where you travel, you should be able to belong in the Airbnb community. By joining this community, you commit to treat all fellow members of this community, regardless of race, religion, national origin, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age, with respect, and without judgment or bias." And now back to our regular scheduled program... The Off Grid Dome shelter is accepting rental guests to share the off-grid experience, and to also help fund this project and future projects . The dome is a very remote and unique space in the desert near Big Bend National Park. The dome rests in an isolated but easily accessible off-grid setting in one of the few remaining territories under a dark sky ordinance, which offers unmatched views of the night sky, and a completely unobstructed view of a horizon that delivers truly majestic sunrises and sunsets. Though the dome is isolated, the entrance to Big Bend National Park is just a 25 minute drive and the historic Terlingua Ghost town about the same. The dome is an earthen structure, with a cob (adobe) barrier to provide shelter from the desert elements such as heat, cold, winds, and rain. The small but functional dome kitchen provides a two burner propane stove and oven, as well as a refrigerator that is powered by solar power. In fact, all power to the dome comes directly from a modest solar energy system and will power phones, laptops, and lights, but not much more (no hair dryers for instance). The kitchen sink pumps water from a small rain collection cistern and thus I ask guests to be very strategic with water use. Guests are recommended to bring one's own drinking water, although backup bottled water is provided onsite as a backup at cost. The Dome bed sleeps two comfortably. Linens, pillows, and a blanket (and a duvet in colder months are provided for the main bed. The pallet couch does sleep a third person quite comfortably, but guests must bring their own linens or sleeping bag (and pillow) for a third guest. In hotter months, a fan is provided, and the nature of the thick adobe provides a buffer against the Summer temps (with limitations). The wrap around windows provides a good cross breeze and fresh air when needed. In cooler months, a small propane heater is provided for a little extra boost, as well as clean linens and a duvet cover. The dome and linens will not be cleaned during your stay. There is no flush toilet, and so you must be comfortable using a composting toilet that is in a separate, and private outhouse next to the dome. There is no shower on site, but I can give you recommendations for $2 coin showers in town. Or you can try an outdoor solar bag shower on the property. There is wifi on site. The property is very accessible by road, with only the last mile being on a gravel road in good condition. Read house rules to learn about amenities. SUMMERTIME DISCLAIMER (June through September): The Summer can get hot here in the desert and while the adobe dome gives a good buffer against the outside elements, there is no AC in the dome, just a fan. There are also perimeter windows to entice a night breeze. Also, bugs and other desert creatures tend to culminate in the Summer months. Don’t be surprised if you encounter a scorpion or black widow spider and don’t be frightened either as they are relatively harmless and non-threatening. I do have the dome on a somewhat forgiving 5 night out cancelation policy during off-peak periods and so if the 10 day forecast looks too scary for you, you can cancel without penalty. Many say that Summer is their favorite time of the year out here. But it all depends on one's heat tolerance. Looking forward to hearing from you and even more so, to hosting you out here in the magnificence of the Big Bend. Guest Access A private earth-built dome, parking, wifi, a kitchen, kitchen supplies, and a composting toilet. Looking forward to hearing from you and even more so, to hosting you out here in the magnificence of the Big Bend.
The only amenities that the dome is in walking distance to are the natural features of the Chihuahuan desert, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and one of the best locations in the world to see the unobstructed night sky. A large grocery store called "The Cottonwood" with everything from organics to vices is in Study Butte and is about 20 minutes away by car. They are open until 9 PM. The entrance to the National Park is about 25 minutes away, and the Chisos Mountains in the National Park takes about an hour. There are some great trails up there. If you like hot springs, there is a great one near Rio Grande Village in the National Park. It is a good way to rest the muscles after a good day hike. Give yourself an hour and a half to get back to the dome from the hot springs. Terlingua Ghost Town has a great restaurant called the Starlight Theatre. There is music there almost every night. The closest restaurant to the dome is called Tivos. It has great authentic Mexican food and I think is only open Thursday through Saturday nights. Service can take awhile because they make everything from scratch. You are welcome to try an outdoor solar shower at the dome, but your best bet are the showers up at the Terlingua Ranch Lodge (13 miles up the road from the dome), or the $2 coin showers in Study Butte at the Big Bend Motor Inn. The $2 showers are on your way to and from the National Park and there are multiple showers. The Terlingua Ranch Lodge has a great swimming pool that costs $5 per car, which includes a bath house with showers as well. Bring your own towel.
  • Loved our stay here! Will definitely check it out again sometime.

    Allie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great experience for our family. Unique , cozy, serene, and the night sky was breathtaking. We would love to come back some day.

  • Loved the experience !

    Nancy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Trevor’s place was great. Stunning views outside and relaxing and romantic inside. I would love to go back!

    Drew2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Trevor’s Dome is phenomenal! I’ve never felt so at home in a place that by most accounts should feel like the wilderness. It was an awe inspiring experience that will linger in my memories for a lifetime. The beauty out there can only be understood first hand. There are no words... Just go! The Domes living conditions are ample, you have everything that you need to be safe and take care of yourself minus food (obviously) so bring food. The Dome’s location is perfect not to far from the park, but just far enough from civilization for that true off-grid experience. The only thing you need to prepare yourself for is the toilet and shower situation but as long as you don’t mind driving there are places to shower within 15 minutes of the dome, and they’re not hard to find, but I actually enjoyed the feeling of air drying after a cold bag shower in the desert! If you have a little dog fight in you, and you can handle it, it’s actually super refreshing when you dry! (even though I couldn’t feel my feet afterwards haha.) Ultimately what it comes down to is The Dome is an incredible experience for anyone willing to put them selves out there a little bit, and it’s not by much, I promise, you get back so much more than you give out there.. It changes you for the better. This trip will re-balance your soul, and bring you back to center. It is the ultimate peace. So don’t think too much about it, just do it, it’s worth so it.

    Justin2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The room was immaculate, the directions to get there were perfect, the personal touch of communication was great as well. We had a seamless experience at the dome and cannot recommend it enough. The sky was beautiful, the room was warm in the colder month we attended in, the amenities were all very useful and it really felt like every need was accounted for! Just make sure if you're reading this and it sells you on going to respect the property and the environment you'll be visiting! It's too beautiful not to!

    Dakota2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cute unique little get away. Easy for my small small to get to on the off road. Not hard to find either. Dirt roads were safe for my tires. Go back the same way you came from when going to park. Google maps will take you about 1.5 m rougher way to the park. Saw Trevor's note about it later lol. The dome was warm and cozy with the heater. Cooked food that I brought. Just kept my cold items in an ice chest as the fridge is not as cold bc it is solar powered. I had an awesome stay! Felt safe and excluded, didnt see any snakes or spiders, didnt hear coyotes. Just a few months, nothing I cant handle (: would recommend to others.

    Justine2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Dome was truly an experience! We unfortunately didn’t get to spend too much time in the dome aside from sleeping, but it was wonderful when we were there! The view of the night sky will leave you in awe, while the coziness inside will make you want to stay forever. Will be back!

  • The perfect place to stay while in Waco! Clean and beautiful! My best friend and I stayed here while visiting Magnolia and it was perfect.

    Noel2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, close to Magnolia attractions. Great suggestions were made by Autumne in her book. Very cozy, great coffee selections and the pull out couch slept great. I would stay again!

  • Great value and place in Waco!

    Mike2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This home was clean and just the right size for the three of us. My family enjoyed the close parking and all the coffee options provided. It is located near the silo district of Waco and we were able to beat the rush at Magnolia bakery!

    Brittany2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Dutch Door in Waco was exactly what we were hoping for! It was the perfect spot for a long weekend of enjoying all things Magnolia. Myself and a friend stayed there. While there is not a true door separating the bedroom from the futon, we had plenty of space for the two of us. It was a great place to unwind at the end of a day of eating, exploring, and shopping. Having a keurig was a great bonus in the morning, as was having a fridge for a few leftovers and snacks. The bathroom was nice and clean. The neighborhood is a quick drive to magnolia table and to the silos. We loved spending lots of time at both. Our other local favorites were Fabled Bookstore, Revival Eatery, and Hecho in Waco. The pull out couch is a little hard, but totally fine for a few nights of sleep. The bedroom is super adorable!! Overall, we were very happy with our stay and it was perfect for a girls weekend away!

    Julie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Autumne was awesome! She gets back to you lightning quick and was flexible with us! We stayed at their guest house for a girls trip and it was so cozy and perfect! Exactly what we needed. The decor was fantastic also! Great touches! Would love to stay here again!

  • I lived here for 3 months for a school internship, and I believe I have been their longest staying guest. I loved every part of my stay and getting to know everyone and the area. The camper is cozy and cute and has everything you need. The porch is really nice to hang out on, and the hot tub is wonderful as well. Everyone was super helpful and nice, and if I ever needed anything, they always took care of me. I became friend's with their son and we would hang out often. I would always recommend the camper to anyone and get the wonderful experience that I had here. It was a truly special place to get to spend a few months at.

  • Donna's place was wonderful! Really one of the most well-appointed places we've stayed. So many thoughtful details, and notes around the place. The bed was excellent! It was also very quiet and dark at night (great for sleeping!), but your path in and out is very well lit! SO many little extras, I think if there were something someone may have forgotten, Donna had it covered! The area of town is very beautiful, and was very close to the entertainment we came to Houston for.

    Laura2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We travel frequently to Houston and this is our new favorite place. It is in a great location, stylishly furnished, spacious and sparkling. Donna is a great communicator and super host. We hope to find Donna's place available again for future trips!

  • This chic cottage is artfully decorated and is in such a great location— just a walk, scooter, or bike ride away to South Congress shops and restaurants. Our host, Chris, was super friendly and full of suggestions for things to see and places to go. He gave us a local’s perspective during an impromptu tour of the area. And what made the experience even better? His goat, Pumpkin, and two pups. :)

    Rachel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our six night stay at Chris’s place. Chris was an amazing host who responded quickly to our inquiries, gave us great local tips and even helped us secure a cheaper rate on our local rental car. He helped us get settled in with a tour of the neighborhood and fridge stocked with cold beverages. It was a great welcome to Austin. Chris’s place was well appointed with amazing touches and decoration throughout. He also had thoughtful touches like not only providing coffee and sugar, but cream as well so we didn't need to run to the store for basics. The front porch was great for relaxing at the end of the day, and it really did feel like our little Austin oasis. Bed, pillows, towels and blankets all comfy and lovely to use. The location can’t be beat. Walking distance to breweries, restaurants and shops, and we loved the breakfast taco foodtruck a block away. South Congress Avenue is only a few short blocks away, but the street location was quiet. Bonus was Pumpkin the goat. We would stay here again and highly recommend it as a place to stay.

  • Loved staying here! This was my first AirBnB, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Definitely recommend staying here!!

  • Chris’ place was perfect! Unfortunately I only had one day to chill in Austin and this place was ideal. Super cute decor. Easy entry. Perfect parking for my SUV right out front. Walked to get tacos at Torchy’s. Crazy cool Topo Chico fridge! Chris was very nice and personally welcomed me. Swapped stories about neighborhoods in Houston (my home). Slept like a king ~ very quiet at night. I can’t wait to be back - huge thanks Chris!

A locally well known modern small house featured in the Houston Architectural Guide, this house is a compact two story situated in a lush garden setting. It is located inside Loop 610, in a transitional neighborhood about a mile south of the University of Houston and within a few miles of Downtown, The Medical Center, and the Museum District. Nearest light rail stop is a 12 minute walk. YMCA, Library, and Grocery shopping all within a mile. The house is not available for parties.
This building is now about 20 years old, but is well known in the Houston architectural community as a little design gem, and has been widely published and featured on several HGTV shows.
This is a transitional neighborhood undergoing redevelopment with new large housing blocks, infill housing, and revamped basic shopping. The neighborhood affords easy and relatively quick access to main freeways Loop 610, I-45, and 288.
  • Really nice and spacious. Flexible host.

  • I HIGHLY recommend the place. Even though it's a tiny home, the place is very open and spacious; I never felt cramped at all. The style of the place was very cute and the outside is extremely beautiful. I was able to check in and out very smoothly and it's very peaceful. I will definitely stay at this place again <3

  • Anne's home is truly delightful. An experience not to be missed. Constructed largely from concrete glass and metal, it has a distinctly European feel and a sense of permanence that is often missing from typical wood-framed structures. The home is complete with all facilities required for any length of stay, including a firm bed, which is sadly rare in most homes.

    Kerith2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great value, stylish touches! Would stay here again.

    Jared2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Anne’s guest house could be considered a medium sized tiny house. Very modern and unique in design, but more spacious than what comes to mind when you think “tiny house”. It was an absolute pleasure. Very clean, extremely pleasant and very close to downtown Houston.

    Drew2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Anne’s place is awesome. Described perfectly but a lot more little surprises once you actually explore the space. The bed was comfy, space was generally clean and host was responsive. Would definitely book here again!

The Moonshiner Cabin is a perfectly curated, hand-built treasure. Let it transport you back in time to an era of cocktails and jazz. The owners have lovingly curated this cabin using The Prohibition Era and a bit of steampunk as inspiration and we guarantee there’s nothing else like it! Just a short jaunt to town, yet nestled among the oaks on 1.5 private acres, this cabin has everything you require of modern life, but the charm and romance of a different century.
Just outside of Austin, TX, nestled among the hills and streams of the Hill Country, lies the charming little village of Wimberley. Folks visit Wimberley to feel like they’ve traveled back to a bygone era where kids swing off ropes into creeks, everyone knows their neighbor, time slows down and summer nights under the stars last an eternity. At The Moonshiner Cabin we can help you embrace that nostalgic longing. This cabin was lovingly constructed, designed and curated by the owners, Jennifer and Gregory, who aimed to capture the essence of The Prohibition Era with a little twist of Steampunk. Gregory, a local craftsman, hand built nearly every inch of the cabin including much of the furniture and all the light fixtures. From the moment you exit your car you’ll feel like you’ve left the hustle and bustle of your modern day existence behind. Once you step inside you’ll enter an era defined by cocktails, claw-foot tubs, flapper dresses, jazz music, pot stills and flickering lanterns. Don’t get us wrong, we love the luxuries of modern life, which is why our cabin has wifi, cable tv, a hot tub, and an award-winning Casper mattress, but whenever possible we tucked the modern world just a little out of sight. Gregory even designed a hidden tv to drop down from the ceiling! So, watch a movie, check email and soak in the hot tub, or make a pot of coffee, write an old-fashioned letter and watch the deer graze from the front porch. Whatever suits your fancy, we guarantee this is a one-of-a kind vacation rental cabin, and it will treat you to a one-of-a-kind retreat. We hope to have you as our guests! Cabin details: -pets welcome for a fee of $50 each; please declare pets at the time of booking (Airbnb guests should be prepared to leave cash or check for the pet fee upon checkout) -1.5 private acres surrounded by nature -visible neighbors on one side of the property, but an attractive privacy fence separates the homes -just 1.5 miles from The Wimberley Square -all linens and towels provided as well as good coffee -hot tub, outdoor shower, cable TV, wifi, central air/heat, stocked kitchen, BBQ, fire pit, hammock -sleeps two only, not suitable for children
Wimberley is a lovely little town full of unique shops, swimming holes, and friendly folks. We think you'll love your visit here!
  • This little cabin was such a great stay! The owners thought of every single detail in the cabin and it makes you feel like you just time traveled for your vacation! The hot tub was so great for the weather we had (wet and freezing) and the outside shower was convenient for the rinse off before/after the hot tub. My girl’s favorite room was definitely the bathroom. It was beautiful, peaceful and every detail in that bathroom just made the room. That bathtub was just so elegant. Couldn’t help but draw a nice warm bubble bath.

    Dustin2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful cabin nestled in the woods provides privacy and a great outdoors feeling without being too far from the main town and shopping centers if needed. Great experience; will definitely come back!

    Amber2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is exactly as it appears in pictures - immaculate and full of fun surprises. Very close to town but still very quiet. Bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay at another one of Jennifer and Gregory's rentals in the future.

    Julie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was exactly as cute as pictured. We loved sitting on the front porch, slept very well in the comfy bed, and all of the thoughtful finishing touches made it a unique and memorable stay.

    Grace2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem. Set back off the road in the peace and quiet, we enjoyed waking up to deer grazing in the yard. Our dog loved roaming the property, and we were just a short drive into downtown Wimberley which offered more than we expected. Lots of great walking and hiking nearby, and only an hour from Austin, San Antonio, and some of the best Texas wineries. The hosts were quick to respond and fix a very minor tv issue, though we were too busy exploring to really bother with it anyway. We loved our stay here and hope to come back in the future.

    Kimberly2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Jennifer and Gregory’s space was very picturesque. I enjoyed the intentional details as well as the claw foot bath tub. Wimberley is such a cute, quaint town. Can’t wait to re-visit.

  • Unique, cozy and quirky place to get away

    Rachel And Drew2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer and Gregory’s cabin was perfect for our birthday and Christmas getaway. The cabin is tucked away in trees off a gravel road and gives you enough privacy to feel secluded without actually being away from town. Space is limited which is perfect for two people, but with that being said don’t over pack. I was able to cook a nice steak dinner with some sides in the kitchen and breakfast every morning and didn’t mind that there isn’t a microwave. Bring your own spices if you would like more than salt and pepper (we did fine with just that). The cabin was fairly quiet and we did get to enjoy a fire inside the cabin with some of the wood that was supplied. The hot tub was clean and the lights helped set the scene which made for relaxing nights outside. I didn’t get to use the outside shower but the tub worked great and my 6’2 husband fit in there with no problem. You can tell they put in a lot of thought into every detail inside the cabin. It was wonderful stay and I would recommend anyone looking at the cabin to book it!

  • This place is amazing. Ronda is a wealth of information about the area. We used her recommendations to make the most of our stay. We can’t wait to return & spend more time in the peaceful tranquillity of Tin Valley.

    Lisa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This stylish tin can supplies an amazing view of the stars at night as well as an amazing host who offers plenty to do during your stay. The views were great, the animals were adorable, the spot was sweet!

  • Adorable and unique place to stay off the beaten path. If quiet and solitude is your thing, stay here! The pet donkey welcomes you no matter when you arrive and when you wake up. The many friendly cats running and playing around the area is fun and entertaining too! The airstream itself is super cute, clean and comfy! Ronda has all you need for glamping! The claw foot tub, bidet, wooden divider for privacy, all kitchen essentials, outdoor firepit, a deck with table and chairs, plenty of plugs, WiFi, fresh ground delicious coffee, very comfortable beds (daybed and pullout), and even skylights to look at the billions of stars while you lie in bed! Our favorite part was the rock painting. Ronda provides the paint and you choose any rock on the grounds to literally leave your mark. Lots of fun and ultra creative! Ronda communicates better than anyone I’ve ever seen. Lightening fast responses to questions any time of day or night before and during your stay. She gives fabulous suggestions from where to eat to activities. This area has so much to do! Plan to stay a week to appreciate all it has to offer. Hike her hills, explore Big Bend on foot, by water or on horseback! She even has a marksman on staff so you can shoot! Our strong recommendations: Get and bring your passport. You’re too close to the border to not take in Mexico and their fine goods. Print out the directions to the camp and use them! You’ll really need them if traveling at night! Bring a lot of bottled water. You can use the water in the desert but you won’t want to drink it! Bring moisturizer. The camper has electric heat which keeps it nice and warm but tends to dry out the skin. Eat breakfast at the coffee shop in the Ghost Town. Along with the outstanding coffees and lattes, they have authentic, delicious Mexican food. Get the burritos! Bring a snack to feed Sampson, the donkey!

    Adrian2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun place to stay when visiting Big Bend! The space was so unique and fun! The stars were amazing! And it was so easy to get to and from Big Bend and Terlingua. The views from the front sitting area are enough to bring us back again.

    Erin2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a unique place that I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It's definitely off the beaten path and that's what you want for that area. Each lodging is so unique and has so much character. I wished we could have stayed a few more days, being photographers and all. Check it out if you happen to be in the Big Bend area.
