Our little corner of Thailand is unique. We are surrounded by hill tribes, elephants, a river and little outdoor shops. You can grab a beer with locals at a Thai BBQ stand or spend the day hiking to beautiful waterfalls. However you decide to spend your time here, this beautiful place has so much to offer!
• We loved our stay at Chai Lai. We fully support Alexa on her good work. All girls were very friendly and helpful :) Our hut though small was clean and cosy. Cafe offered different food options. If you want to support sustainable tourism we recommend you this place.

• Had a great time at the Chai Lai! Alexa and her staff are very helpful and attentive even with the smallest details. The Eco lodge overlooking the river is a must if you don't mind falling asleep to the sound of water or waking up to beautiful elephants walking past your window. The bungalow was also comfortable and there's enough space in between to allow you plenty of privacy. I felt safe all around despite this being a solo trip. The tour guides, mahouts, and taxi drivers all contribute to the pleasant experience as well. This is definitely the right choice if you're looking to get away from the hectic city life for a bit!

• Amazing!!! So worth it. We did the elephant, water fall, and bamboo rafting excursion and then stayed the night. It was even more amazing than I could’ve imagined.

• it's an amazing tour,and the baby elephant is so cute,thank u !

• I loved the place, the service, the people, the elephants (some free, some tied). We did the rafting trip. It was short but really nice. Grandma elephant was relentless asking for bananas. My room was spotless. It did not have an AC (my fault, I missed that somehow). The mosquito net full of holes and the mold/mildew in the bathroom gave me a bad first impression. Thankfully, those are easy to fix things. There was a fan and plenty of outlets for charging. Water pressure and shower temperatures were perfect. The odd shape of the room and bathroom makes it all so exotic. The gigantic male elephant across the way also helps. If you have toddlers you might consider passing this place. I saw one of the stray dogs almost bite a toddler. Nothing happened other than lots of tears. Another toddler followed another dog down the path towards the river. The parents realized and with the help of the amazing personnel got the kid before anything serious happened. If you like dogs, this will be your dream. They are mostly well behaved and will follow you everywhere with the smallest show of affection. I saw them itching and some don’t have collars. They smelled like dog and left that smell on the pillows on the tatami mats. Yes, they are allowed there also. The iced cocoa is delicious!

• Our experience at this place was awesome and unique! WE LOVED IT!! We did a full day tour with them and it was great, hiking in the forest getting to see the beautiful landscape, waterfalls... our guide girls was Shampoo and SHE IS THE BEST!!! She is funny, has a great English and knows a lot about the area, and the flora. So while hiking she would explain to you :), we learned a lot with her. And the elephants ... WOW!!! Our experience with them was AMAZING! I was in particular so looking forward to have the elephant experience in Thailand and I could not chose better, BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Totally recommended the place.

Alicia2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
• The jungle vibe here is amazing!!! You can truly walk up to the elephants. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. Great jungle bungalows that are unique and different from typical city trips.

Our clay-home is located in a small village in PHAYAO, a small province of the North of Thailand. You will enjoy staying with local people, clean food, fresh air and surrounded by nature. You would meet a great relaxation and pure serenity here.
the house was made by clay. there is an ancient knowledge to balance whatever season is, the inside is only comfy.
our community is a Thai-Lue tribe and also a safe village. we have Ka-La-Mae, Traditional home made Thai style coconut caramel.
• We loved our time at Bee's place - surrounded by the rural remote countryside of northern Thailand, yet with every comfort in our beautiful hut. I'm vegan, and Bee's family were happy to customise all food (fresh from their organic garden) without meat, seafood, eggs and dairy. To be honest, I've never eaten food so healthy that also tastes so great - and the diversity of dishes was much appreciated too. We loved cycling around the paddies, riding a bike through the countryside, waking up to the birds chirping, and not seeing another traveller during our time here! I only wish we spoke some Thai to be able to communicate with Bee's beautiful family :-) Her cousin Teck speaks English, which was very helpful! We stayed 3 nights and could've easily stayed longer; a blissful experience, and as authentic as it gets in Thailand!

Shivya2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
• Great, authentic Northern Thailand experience. Clay house design is very unique and spacious and dinner/breakfast was delish, all sourced from local ingredients.

Ivars2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
• First, what I love about this place is the warm hospitality of Bee and her family! Top class! It felt like visiting family. They are so warm, friendly and welcoming. My mum truly enjoyed the interaction with them - learning more about their garden farm and food. Superb homecooked meals too. This is a very special experience on its own. The clay house is exactly as the photos shown. Very special and cosy design. Location a bit out of the way. But no problem if you need transport, Bee can suggest the plan and driver. I’d say this is worth every dollar spent and with priceless memories to keep!

Alicia2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
• the place is so beautiful and tranquil, Bee and her family is so nice and helpful for everyone with everything. just stay there for a few days doing nothing is an indispensable experience for the life, it's a unforgettable stay for me, I wish I could back there one day in the future.

Hairong2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
• Extremely recommended if you want to learn the life of local people - Northern Thailand farmers. Very comfortable staying in rural surrounding.

• We are a family of four from Montreal. We stayed for 4 nights and loved our stay. Wonderful hosts , super food and unique experience. A real asset to Airbnb.

• Beautiful environment, lovely hosts, delicious food. It's about a 90-minute drive from downtown Chiang Rai, so quite rural. Great for people who really want to get out of the city, but doesn't necessarily have every creature comfort. Recommended for a wonderful, local experience.

Nathan2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
• We really enjoyed our time in this super unique property. The Clay House is lovely and the surrounding area is rural--quiet, relaxing, beautiful and tourist free. We rode bikes through the fields, helped cook wonderful Thai meals with our super friendly hosts and enjoyed some chill time. If you're looking to get off the beaten path, it's a great option for an absolutely unforgettable stay. Enthusiastically recommended!

CHIANG KHAM, Phayao, Thailand

Our bungalows are simple bamboo huts. Come and stay if you wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the cities and enjoy peaceful mountain scenery. You will learn about traditional lifestyles of local hill tribe people, farming, cooking and more!
Spicy Villa bungalows are set in the hillside of Northern Thailand, just a short drive from Chiang Mai (1.5 to 2 hours), in Baan Huay Pong, T. Mae Win, A. Mae Wang, Chiang Mai. Their location offers amazing mountain views, especially at sunrise while the morning mists in the valley are rising. (The address shown for this listing is for our offices in Chiang Mai, not for the bungalows.) The idea of our place is to stay in harmony with nature and spend time together as a family. We cook together, we eat together and share the experience. You can experience local traditions and meet local hill tribe people in neighbouring villages. All our staff is local as well. Spicy Villas are environmentally friendly and self-sustainable. Our energy is derived from solar panels and we cook on open fire, using wood. Spicy Villa Eco-Lodge is a place to appreciate simple living. You will find peace, serenity and authenticity in this non-touristic area. This is not the right place for those who seek luxury, but it is extremely rewarding to those who seek pristine experience. Our bungalows are handmade like traditional, hill tribe, jungle huts in the area. They are comfortable and clean. We have three family and six private bungalows available for our guests. Private bungalows are suitable for one or two guests while family bungalows are suitable for up to four guests. Private bungalows consist of one and family bungalows of two rooms. Each room has a comfortable queen-sized mattress. Each bungalow has a private bathroom with toilet and cold shower and a balcony with hammocks where you can chill out and enjoy the views.
There are a lot of activities you can do during your stay. Ask us and we will organize them for you. You can go on a humane elephant trek (bareback riding), hike to traditional hill tribe villages, trek in the jungle and visit waterfalls, hike over rice paddies and learn about traditional farming methods, you can also bamboo raft, river tube or canoe on the river. Activities are not included in the price of your accommodation. If you wish to do any or all of them during your stay, ask us and we will prepare a custom itinerary for your stay.
• Oversold and under-delivered. These accommodations* are worth $10 USD --- not $42 USD. We were pretty surprised upon arrival. First off, there were no sheets to cover the mattress which had stains. Even after asking the local staff for replacement bedding, we were given more stained blankets that smelled terrible. Second, the provided mosquito nets are a very cheap quality. Ours were badly ripped, so mosquitoes can and do enter. The nets are not large enough to cover the entire bed. Third, the bungalow floor is made of scrap wood - think large cracks and holes (we did get splinters). If you weigh more than 60 kg (130 lbs), it's best to walk around VERY carefully. Try not to move too much, or your shifting weight could cause the bed to fall through the thin floor. These bungalows are resting on stilts positioned against the side of a steep mountain. There are grazing buffalo below. Fourth, the bungalow bedroom doors are a foot above the ground, so stray cats will enter your sleeping space. They are persistent, and if you’re allergic, this can be very dangerous. There is no way to avoid the many spiders and grasshoppers from entering through the cracked floors. Be sure to zip up all of your belongings, and put them on top of the chair, so you won’t find surprise guests hitchhiked a ride when you arrive at your next destination. Fifth, there is a serious problem with hot water. Only after leaving did the host tell us that the heaters don't work correctly. There was no alert or warning before arrival. There was said to be hot water in the common bathroom, though this was icy cold. The host believes this is not something they will fix. There is also very low water pressure (think drip-drip). Just a 3-minute walk from the bungalows, there is a very powerful cascading waterfall in the mountains. It's a great shower in the mountains if you can handle the cold. Sixth, the host says the oversold prices are to pay fair wages to employees and go to community projects. If this is a socially-driven business, why aren't social accomplishments announced online about Samart’s bungalows (Spicy Villa) and ecotourism company (NextStep)? In closing, this host Samart appeared not to know about the current conditions of his own listings. We are curious if this is a repeated excuse, given the uncleanliness of the provided sleeping materials. We felt like the host was excusing himself from taking responsibility by blaming the local staff. You will not find any posted photos of the bathrooms or room floors. While the existing photos don’t try to make Spicy Villa look like a secluded eco-resort, the missing photos mean you don’t get the whole picture. Ask for photos. Other tips: Bring your own travel sheets, blankets, microfiber towels and water bottles. *Note: This review is for accommodations only. • What can we say about our spicy family... they were great! We started off our trip with an elephant trek and then handmade bamboo rafting. The next day we went to the karen village and school and got to see their way of life. After that a wonderful hike to the waterfall where we had a delicious lunch and sticky rice cooked in a bamboo shoot! I love to paint art at home and after being at spicy village I wanted to leave my mark! Samart was sure I got the chance so we were able to paint a tree on a new addition of the place, made me happy that something I painted would stay here. It was my birthday and samart was so wondeful to make us a birthday cake with honey straight from the jungle. Kwan was our personal guide and took such great care of us. His knowledge of it all was great and he made sure he shared with us. The food was amazing!!!!!! Family dinners and one night by romantic candlelight. There were puppies, ducklings and a little pig for us to play with. Everyone that was at spicy village was so great... an experience of a lifetime and the highlight of our trip. We were lucky to be apart of a great thing they are doing there. As far as the bungalow is concerned, if you don't like bugs or need air conditioning it is not for you... but ours was great! We were sure to be up before the sun everyday to catch it rise, we had a great view of the misty mountains in the morning. Overall if you don't book this trip, you are missing out!!!! Thank you spicy!!!!

• We loved out stay at Spicy Villa Bungalows! Samart was an amazing host, he picked us up from the airport, planned our elephant trek (crazy and amazing experience you have to try:), coordinated our amazing guide Rocky to bring us to a local hilltribe, went tubing down the river with us and made us feel very comfortable and welcomed! The food in the main bungalow was fantastic also and he has full bar that has a convenient self serve honor system. Couldn't have asked for a better host, thanks again for a great time!

• We stayed at the Spicy Villa for about a week. It was a unique experience, exactly what we had been looking for! Everything went well right from the arranged pick-up at the train station to the very last moment when were brought back to Chiang Mai. Samart and his team are doing a great job in making you feel at home in an extraordinary setting. The cabins have everything one would expect in a jungle environment, food was excellent as well as varied and plenty. All of the staff went the extra mile in order to make our stay the most memorable in Thailand. We have had the privilege of meeting with and living amongst wonderful local people, but also made good friends with some lovely guests. If you are looking for a unique place to spend some time to relax and are ready to give up on luxury, the Spicy Villa is the place to be! We would certainly go back any time!

• My parents, my wife and I stayed at Spicy Villas for 3 days in September 2012. We could say so much about Samart and his beautiful Spicy Villa Ecolodges. The bottom line is that we give them a highly enthusiastic recommendation. If you have any interest in delicious food, interesting conversation, or beautiful natural scenery, you should definitely visit the Spicy Villas. Samart (the Spicy Villas owner and operator) is a very intelligent, generous, and genuine man. Conversation with him is always free-flowing and educational about Thai culture, and his life story is inspiring. He drove us around each of the three days we spent at Spicy, never hesitating to act as a personal guide and chauffeur for each of the activities we wished to undertake (rafting and tubing, visiting villages and waterfalls, riding elephants). After we'd left, we realized we'd left a raincoat somewhere and he went out of his way to track it down and deliver it to us. What's more, he is an amazing cook. When he was a monk he cooked for thirty and his food was the best we've tasted in Thailand. As for the property, it is absolutely stunning. The photos on AirBnB are fully accurate. The view is breathtaking! The bamboo bungalows are rustic and simple--about what you'd expect in a mountainous jungly ecolodge. Each bed has a large bug net and the washrooms have cool showers and sit-down toilets--along with the odd snail and gecko. It rained each day we were at Spicy Villas but it didn't restrain us (or Samart) from anything we wanted to do. The mud added a bit more adventure and the sound of the rain on the bungalows' tin roofs was sublime. My family and I would love to visit Samart and Spicy Villas Ecolodge again. With luck, his organic farm / school / yoga / meditation centre will be complete by then and we'll be able to stay with him there--just a bit further up the mountain from the Spicy Villas. Thanks, Samart, for a wonderful experience!

• 10 stars! My wife and I went here to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary, and had our best travel experience in years, thanks to Samart. He's bubbling with energy and humor, and made us feel from the first moment that we were dropping in to visit a friend. He picked us up at the Chiang Mai train station, and drove us for nearly two hours to the Paradise he built in the mountains west of Chiang Mai, consisting of around 8 wood and bamboo huts surrounding a lush organic garden, which provided much of the spicy, tasty food he taught us to cook. His colleague Deng led us on a 4-day trek through the jungles, forests and waterfalls of the region, along the way running into his friend Boon who joined us for the remainder of the trek, and we stayed overnight in Boon's village. They taught us to identify and gather wild foods, which became the basis of many of our meals. We also had a chance to visit some of Samart's good works, including local schools he helped to establish for Karen villagers. Travel is not only about the place, but about the people. Here we found deep satisfaction in both. We were reluctant to depart Spicy Villa. Samart and all his staff and colleagues are wonderful, the accomodations are simple but comfortable, the grounds are gorgeous, and the food indescribably great. We hope to visit them again. In summary: a great choice not just for young backpackers, but for anyone of any age interested in an active, laugh-filled, unique travel experience.

• Our stay at Spicy Villa was amazing! Samart and his team were very hospitable. we enjoyed our hike with Sam through the mountain and riding the elephants bare back. it was a relaxing break before our busy journey. Thank you again :)

• We had a pleasant stay over there. Our guid Sam was very nice, I highly recommend him. The sightseeing programs were ok, but it would be better go to at the right reason. The bungalow was very basic, you need to be ready to experience the nature life with no signal. The food was delicious, I had many choice as a vegetarian. In all everything was good! We were so happy to make friends there. I love spicy villa!

Nestled in an exclusive Shan village on the outskirts of Pai, and surrounded by magnificent mountain views, Ban Nam Hoo Bungalows is an oasis of greenery with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Each of the unique bungalows offers a simple and comfortable
Bannamhoo Bungalows is situated in Bannamhoo (Shan) Village, only 3km from bustling Pai Town, yet far enough to have a charm of its own. The bungalows are nestled in lush gardens dotted with delightful salas (pavilions) where you can relax on cushions or in a hammock while enjoying a cool drink or home-cooked authentic Thai meal from our kitchen. Coffee connoisseurs will be pleased to wake up to a delicious brew in the morning. You'll feel at home in one of our beautifully maintained bungalows – available in different styles and sizes. We love to host; and pride ourselves on providing guests with a warm and relaxed atmosphere, delicious and healthy cuisine, and a place to meet other like-minded international travellers. Simple, clean and comfortable – our bungalows offer you the pure essence of Pai at a brilliant value. Guests can enjoy the spacious gardens and pavilions which are ideal for meeting other travellers or simply relaxing with books or tablets; free Wi-Fi from the latest high-speed fibre optic connection; delicious food and drinks menu including freshly brewed coffee; local information on sights, culture and customs of the area; Thai cooking lessons; choice of different types of bungalows. We live in an open-plan house onsite and are always available to assist guests with their needs, whether you want to order something off the menu, request sightseeing information or simply feel like chatting. We have a family-style atmosphere and are always in the gardens or kitchen, where you can feel at ease stop by and say hello. At the same time, the gardens are quiet and the rooms are positioned for privacy, so you can enjoy time alone if you would rather snuggle up with a good book on your veranda or get lost in your own thoughts. We're here to help – but we're never in your way! We love the peace and simplicity of our small village, where it's still possible to experience traditional Shan and Northern Thai culture. The Shan people (called Tai Yai in Thailand) are a Tai ethnic minority who primarily reside in Myanmar (Burma) but have also established themselves in Thailand, Laos and China. Along with the rich culture of our village, guests can also enjoy some of the area's most significant attractions nearby, such as Wat Nam Hoo (a temple housing a sacred Buddha image); Mor Paeng Waterfall; and the Yunnan Cultural Village. You'll always discover beautiful nature and friendly smiles where ever you go here. There are motorbike taxis in front of the Pai Bus Station; or you can hire a motorbike/scooter/bicycle at one of many shops in the centre of town. It's also possible (and safe) to walk. If this is your first visit to Pai, we recommend checking in before 6 pm as it may be more difficult to find your way in the dark.

• Room was clean. Host was a nice person. We enjoyed to have breakfast with the nice ambient. You can also see lots of pet around but they are kind to the guest.

• Bannamhoo bungalows was a perfect paradise outside the Pai centre. Noom and hosts were extremely accommodating, giving us a ride early into town when we were leaving and always greeted us with a smile and providing local knowledge of the area and recommendations. A motorbike is definitely helpful to get around the area but the property is beautiful enough to want to climb into the hammock and never leave.

• This place makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a secret sanctuary, filled with loving touches. From the inconsequential-yet-amusing animals on the property (even the kitties have knitted sweaters on), to the details around comfortable living (like outdoors clothes hangers being available for every bungalow as are the tea kettle and room broom), you can tell right away that the owners are so very thoughtful. The community space with little reading gazebos, hammocks, and a fire pit for colder nights will make any adventure travelers not ever want to leave.

• Very romantic and convenient cabin and resort. Totally clean. The hosts are beautifully kind and nice guys. Go there!

Bastian2014-12-06T00:00:00Z
• The forested bungalow is nice but a bit far from the centre. That's not a problem if you hired a bike. The place is quiet and good for relaxing purposes. Park is firendly and wrll versed in English. Highly recommended

• The landlord's home is very beautiful, a lot of cats and dogs, and they are very obedient, live in their home, like to live in a fairy tale of the forest. The landlord is very good, borrowed his plug, forgot to give him, want to pay him, he also said no, really sorry for him. The landlord's mother and aunt who is also super good, good love them. If I had the chance to go to Pai, I would have stayed at their home.

Shaowei2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
• I went to Pai with my mom. The bungalow was so nice and well maintaining! There are a few relaxing places between the bungalows, and you can spend time there with the dogs and cats. Never underestimate the distance from town, but a scooter or a taxi will help you a lot! At nights you can enjoy the stars and nature sounds and wakes up by listening birds' twitting. If you are choosing Pai to experience Thailand special, then here is the best choice! I have promised Mama Bangkok(Park's mom) that I will return next year to visit her! PS: Pai is so hot during daytime but freezing at nights. Be well prepared and enjoy!

• Bannamhoo Bungalows is location where can make me feel escape from everything. With greenery surrounding bungalow feel fresh air around and need not think about tv, shopping, work etc. Free WIFI around bungalows still allow me connected to people in my home country. Reading hut with cradle tied to pillar more than enough to lie down and swing like a baby till you sleep. Bungalows without aircond is enough to feel cold weather at night. If think to relax and simple during vacation, then Bannamhoo Bungalows is the right choice with reasonable price.

• We really enjoyed our stay at the Serene Bungalow elephant camp. It was indeed serene, and comfortable. We had some wonderful times there.

• Great place. It looked a little more luxurious on the website, but everyone was genuinely very nice and friendly, very pretty spot, the elephants are so cool. I would definitely stay here again.

• I am not sure where to begin because I have so many wonderful things to say about our experience at the Chai Lai Orchid. I will start at the beginning... Alexa was very helpful in arranging our ride from the airport to the Chai Lai Orchid. Upon arrival we were in awe of the beauty of the property. This was our last stop on our 2 week vacation in Thailand where we stayed at a variety of different hotels. Some were the big, western style hotels and the Chai Lai blew all of them away. The Chai Lai Orchid has so much character and so much to offer it's guests. We loved our little bungalow. Very simple, but really all you need. If you are visiting the Chai Lai you will be spending your days exploring and your nights sitting at the cafe chatting with fellow guests and the staff so your bungalow is just a peaceful retreat to rest your eyes. We couldn't love this place more and can't wait to return!

Taylor2014-12-23T00:00:00Z
• We loved it here. Just go. You'll love it too

Lauren2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
• Very 'jungly' getaway. Not for the urban-oriented. They have the basic amenities you need, interesting to look at the human-elephant interaction. But we didn't do any elephant rides or packages coz it is really pricey for us Malaysians. Food quality is average - you can get your Pad Thai and Fried Rice which is nice, but not that spectacular for the price range. Takes quite a while for the food to arrive as well. We waited on an average of 30 mins for a meal to arrive. Ambience was very quiet and peaceful since it's a sanctuary so a very nice place to do nothing and relax. Though, the relaxing is limited to a set of table benches and cafe tables/chairs or the bed back in your room. One big point is that the receptionist was extremely helpful. She helped us grab a motorbike for rent for a day, call the cab to Chiang Mai city for us, all very humbly and quickly. That was a really satisfying experience to have her around. I have to admit that I am comparing this place to commercial stays elsewhere that I've been to, so it may or may not be fair. But just sharing my thoughts.

• We had a nice stay at chai lai orchid ! The place is quiet, peaceful and tbe food amazing ! Everyone was really kind and helpful. We would definitly come again !

• An unparalleled experience. Will be hard to top this holiday. Looks like we have no choice but to come back here again.

• Incredible. Beautiful. Bungalows. Baby elephants. Great food and drinks. Friendly staff. Did I mention the elephants walking around the property? Anything I could say to get you to stay at Chai Lai, I would. This is hands down one of my favorite Air Bnbs ever. I can’t believe we found this gem! If you don’t do anything else in the gorgeous mountains surrounding Chiang Mai, stay here.

• Staying in Kowit's space is a true experience of being in Thailand's jungle. Kowit has created a beautiful, community orientated stay for travelers looking for an authentic experience of Thai culture and its natural wonders. Kowit arranges expeditions for travelers that are far from most tourists and pristine in experience.

• Great place to stay if you want to have a great time/play music! I felt at home right away with the ability to join into the beautiful music and had a great time just about every night. I liked swimming in the natural pool about a 20 minute walk. Its great if you want to socialize but also have the choice of being alone. The only thing is to be aware that dinner is not included. I thought it was, maybe I misread. But it is 140 baht every night. It was very delicious though. :-) thank you for a great stay.

Lorna2018-02-09T00:00:00Z
• Nice hippie cottages in wild. But the rats and wild ants inside cottage around the bed never let us sleep. Anyways I stayed only for the night.

Dinesh2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
• Kowit and Zach were great hosts. They made us feel very welcomed and helped us out wherever they could. They also have great friends! We would definitely return and can't wait to see how their new place turns out!

• If you’re looking for a welcoming place with a fabulous view, this is it. All the employees are great, treating you like family. There are adventuresome activities available. The bungalows are so cute, and you’ll get beautiful scenery just relaxing on your patio. I will note that toilets and showers are communal. Overall, I definitely recommend it!

• I arrived at this place alone and I departed with friends and memories that will be treasured forever. It was with a heavy heart that i need to leave this place to move to the beach side after 2 nights. I am still overwhelmed with this unforgettable and unique experience that this community, or should i say family, has given me. I will forever treasure those genuine smiles, generous acts; not to mention the surprise birthday cake, jamming every night and the good food and feel good drinking session.. Thai people are the most wonderful people I've met among all the places i visited. Ao Luek Paradise is absolutely magnificent and unique. every side of this place is picturesque. The view from my hut, the scenery and the places that the host took us were wonderful, everything is amazing. Thank you Kowit Thongmak and his team Zach, Pukpao Noonual, Kai , Sanphat Wangmueang and Yoke and the other solo travellers from different parts of the world that I've met. Thank you for giving me the best birthday in my 28 years of existence.

• This place is absolutely unbelievable, purely good vibes, beautiful scenery and amazing people. The hosts are very focused on ensuring that no moment of your stay is dull, always fun, exciting and something to do. Thanks to one of the hosts I visited an elephant sanctuary, an amazing swimmable lake, and rode a ATV (4x4) all in one day of my 3 days! Could not recommend anymore. The huts are cosy and provide mosquito nets to help prevent any bites. Although like the most of Thailand they are still to be expected. The food and entertainment was also amazing, where I myself got to join in with playing and orchestrated guest band. Thank you & I hope to see you again in the future.

Kurtis2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
• We had a great stay at Aoluek Paradise, can strongly recommend to stay here! The area is beautiful and a little bit in-land, away from the busiest tourist places. Next time we would probably rent bikes/vehicle inorder to get around to the multitude of activities and scenic spots. Kowit and his family are very hospitable and helped us with all our questions and transportation needs to the beach and airport.

We look forward to welcoming you to your home away from home at Bananas Bungalows resort - the gathering place of spectacular sunsets!
• What a great place! As someone said, it was like adult summer camp. Things to do if you wanted, or nothing and just relax. My bamboo bungalow was great, comfy bed, mosquito net, good bathroom. Community dinners every night were good food and good socializing with other guests. Other food was all good and reasonably priced. Staff were superb, and having all tbe animals around added to the experience. Be sure to swim at night with the photoplankton. Boat trip to the islands was fantastic. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Lois2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
• We stayed here for one night on our way to the islands. Olli arranged an airport pick up for us for the 40 minute journey to Bananas. We'd booked into one of the bamboo huts but we were luckily upgraded to a concrete based hut with a fan and good mosquito net. The huts are all arranged alongside a path looking out towards the sea but with a view through the thick mangroves. A long pathway takes you to the jetty and the view that is advertised.... Stunning! Olli is very helpful arranging transport, trips and giving advice. Great base for activities such as island hopping, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. The place also offers massage. If kayaking ensure you look back for landmarks. We thought we did but still got very lost. The tide goes out for at least a kilometre and you need to drag the kayak back in. Meals are served in a communal area with WiFi. Food is served all day and you write what you've had in a book to be collated and paid for on leaving. Evening meals are a communal event served altogether at 7pm. A great base for young people looking to do activities. If you don't intend to do any of these though there's not much else to do. When the tide comes in there is nowhere to walk along the shore. Recommended.

• This was the most wonderful and magical place that we stayed in Thailand. The Bananas is beautiful, warm, welcoming, relaxing, accommodating and is truly a hidden gem. Ollie and staff are very knowledgable about the area and are so very helpful. You can stay here and never leave and be so happy or you can go on exciting adventures every day! At the Bananas there is a full service kitchen that is inexpensive and Delicious! They will arrange day trips for you that are much cheaper than the tour companies. You can also rent bikes or scooters to get around the cities. And its all so easy as you pay for everything at the end (via (Hidden by Airbnb) or cash), so you have no worries your whole stay. You can also walk to multiple, beautiful and secluded secret beaches...Anyone from families, to singles to adventurous backpackers stay here and are all so friendly and laid back. This is a place to eat good food, see beautiful places and relax. We cant wait to come back!

• Ollie and his staff are very helpful, knowledgable and know exact what travelers need and want. We were very happy to have celebrate Christmas here. They even gave the guests a small gift on Christmas eve which was very thoughtful. The bungalows were perfect for a few days of chilling. Everything was clean and in good condition.

Guido2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
• Originally there should stayed only my friends. It happened, however, that I missed a plane, so I showed there unannounced in the middle of the night. Oliver was very friendly and warmly welcomed me :-) The bungalows are very cozy and tastefully decorated. The environment is also very nice and safe. The food was very tasty. We enjoyed our stay.

Bláža, Martina A Robert2014-02-21T00:00:00Z
• We really enjoyed our time here. its quite secluded which is what we wanted. Tranquil, as this area doesn’t have too many other tourists. However it is only about 30 minutes to get to Krabi town, so you get the best of both worlds. The activities on offer were really fun e.g. the kayaking trip was a brilliant way to explore the area. If you want to do a lot of beach swimming, might not be suitable as you can only swim when the tide comes in, and the rest of the time you have to walk about 1km to get to the water. There is lots of choice of food, evening is buffet (only 1 choice). If you really want to eat a lot of authentic Thai food it might not be the best place. There aren’t many cultural experiences available so if that’s what you are looking for it might not be ideal. The Thai massages there were great! Oliver and the other staff there were helpful and friendly.

• I picked this place for my first solo trip because of the amazing reviews it has, so I was expecting something great already, but the actual experience here blew all my expectations out of the water. It was absolutely amazing. Olli and his staff arrange all the things you want to do for you the night before, so there’s barely any planning involved (other than saying “yes i’d like to do this”). I went there fully intending to just chill at the Bananas but ended up meeting fellow travellers and going with them hiking, kayaking, riding a scooter for the first time, discovering nearby islands/giant rocks with beaches on them and so much more. The food was delicious, and the place is surprisingly clean (not as many bugs as i expected though of course there still were bugs) and the company is top notch. I was so nervous at the start of the trip but by the end, the place had already begun to feel like home. Thank you Olli, Andrew and Vanessa for everything. The Bananas really is more than just accommodation - it’s an experience. I’m definitely coming back someday!

Relaxing, friendly, away from the madding crowds! Perfect...eat, drink, relax, listen to nature surronding and just enjoy. Very reasonable price! Huts #001-006 are right at the beach front. Huts #007-012 are just behind and the Jungle is has an overview on the area. Come and join us!
Situated along the beachfront in Ao Nam Mao, Dawn of Happiness offers an on-site bar and restaurant serving local cuisine. Free WiFi access is available in public areas. Nestled among tropical gardens, the bungalows are equipped with either a fan or air conditioning. All bungalows have a mosquito net and a private bathroom with shower facilities, towels and free toiletries. At Dawn of Happiness, an array of activities can be enjoyed on-site such as horse riding, fishing and cycling. The property also has barbecue facilities, a tour desk and laundry services.
Located 300 meters from the main Ao Nam Mao area, it is a 5-minute drive to Ao Nang where various restaurants, nightlife and shopping can be found.
• Dawn of Happiness is a gorgeous place. It was incredibly serene and Atipong and his family were great hosts. Any questions I had about the area and how to get around were given with grace. I was there to mostly relax but being near Ao Nang was nice if you wanted to get into bars and clubs at night. The dinners at DoH were amazing. This place is a gem. Very clean, and relaxing. I would recommend to everyone!

Artina2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
• The air conditioning was cold and the beach was beautiful! There is a cool tiny beach bar that is private and relaxxxx. Met some very nice locals and had wonderful time learning poi from uncle wicky. We appreciated the community dinner where everyone ate together and how the bartended helped us save a little bird that fell from his nest. We only stayed one night (because we thought it was in Railay Beach and it's at 30 min boat ride instead) but this might be perfect for someone looking for a private and magical experience!

Kyla2016-03-24T00:00:00Z
• Dawn of Happiness was the perfect little beach getaway for me and my boyfriend. Good place to rest and eat a home cooked meal. It holds the true feeling of being in Thailand with it's simplicity and welcoming nature. It is away from all of the chaos from but close enough to reach by taxi or better yet, rent a scooter down the road! Be sure to buy bug spray/lotion with you as we got eaten alive. :)

Amanda2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
• Dawn of Happiness is just as described: a rustic place where you can escape the craziness. If your looking for a 5 star hotel this isn't the place for you but if your looking to meet some great people and to enjoy the quiet the this place will be just that. The meals were quite good as well. Met some really interesting folks and would like to give a big shout out to Karabi Earthson, Thailand's next big star. His ability to guzzle whiskey and serenade us with Beatles toons was very entertaining.

Melissa2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
• Dawn of Happiness was everything we expected. We went during the off season, so there wasn't too much happening but it was what we wanted. An organic and un-plugged experience. Of course there was wifi available, but to sit on the beach or in the hammocks and enjoy the view we couldn't have asked for anything more. Waking up to the waves was something I would love to do again there. It reminded us the movie the beach without the murderous cults. Speaking of, The Beach was super close. In a great place to find snorkelling, diving, and watch a fire show! We definitely plan to return and would love to stay in the same space!! Thanks for a wonderful time

Kayla2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
• A great place to stay if you want to relax on a beach in a very friendly environment. Hosts were very helpful before and during our stay there. They provide guests with breakfast and if you want you can join them for dinner or a drink:) The hut was spacious with big bathroom and great view.

Małgorzata2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
• The location was picturesque but a scooter was needed to get around. This would be a perfect place to get away if you are looking for a retreat. It was very quiet and there wasn't much interaction with the hosts. There isn't much in the area as far as amenities but having a scooter was great to get to Ao Nang, the biggest city around which has everything you need. The hut was comfortable and the A/C worked great.

Chris2016-05-07T00:00:00Z
• We had a great trip in Krabi ❤️. The space and location matched what the listing said. Very private and low key. We rented a motto bike so we could get back and forth from town. Everyone was really nice and very helpful! It was nice to come home from all the craziness to the quiet beach right outside our bungalow!

At the foot of the amazing Tonsai Limestone cliffs and only a short 5 minutes walk to the beach you can find our cosy Chill Out bungalows. Perfect for back packers wanting authentic back packing accommodation like it used to be
Nestled in the jungle, below the towering limestone cliffs, just 5 minutes from Tonsai beach you will find our Thai style, cosy bungalows. The Chill Out Bungalow is minimally furnished with essential items which include its own bathroom with refreshing cold water shower. Inside the bungalow you will have a bed, mosquito net and fan. We have also decked the bungalows with their own terrace so you can sit and relax and watch the world go by. You can submerse yourself in the tranquillity of the tropical jungle but also have peace of mind that should you need anything our reception area and bar is not far away. Tonsai and neighbouring Railay is famed for its rock climbing which has become increasingly popular in recent years and it is not hard to see why with the towering limestone cliffs. There are many reputable rock climbing shops on both Tonsai and Railay where you can hire equipment and receive tuition. If rock climbing isn’t your thing then there are still many things to see and do. Diving and snorkelling are very popular in the area and we are also a gate way to many islands, the closest being only half an hour away. If you prefer to stay closer to home then you can explore neighbouring Railay bay with its hidden beaches and lagoons. If you prefer just to relax, then both beaches offer relief from the outside world. We are situated 5 minutes from Tonsai beach and approximately 15 minute’s walk from Railay bay. Reaching us is very easy, take a long tail boat from Ao nang beach which is the main tourist centre over to TONSAI Beach. If you take a long tail boat to Railay bay you can still reach us but it requires about a 15 minute walk which is challenging and not recommended if you have a lot of luggage. But for the more adventurous you may enjoy the scenic views along the way. Krabi town can be reached from anywhere by plane, ferry or bus and from here you can make your onwards journey to us. Tonsai is not a big area so once you arrive at the pier you can ask many people where we are and they will point you in the right direction. We are not the only bungalows on Tonsai, so what makes us different from the rest you may ask? Well that’s simple! Love! All the buildings have been handcrafted by my husband an artist. All the art works you see have been done with care and attention and all done to make a warm friendly atmosphere that you will experience during your time with us! We are a small community like a family and we welcome anyone to embrace that with us.
There are some Restaurants, Bars, Mini markets, Internet Café, Tour Shops and Climbing Shops on Tonsai beach. Although it is not big here, I am sure you will find all you need.
• I felt welcomed with friendly staff and faces esecially Todd who recommended places to go and visit around the island. Every night there's a bon fire night with fire displays and Jam rocking tunes. Highly recommended and will be coming back in February next year. The bed and the moss net were really effective and clean

• Very nice place in a magical location. Bar opens at 6 pm with nice music, good vibes and cold beer. The bungalows are great and very roomy. I laughed so much with the monkeys down the road. Would repeat my stay. The bathrooms could use a little love.

• It was a very nice stay at Chilled out bungalow even we spent there just one day. Climbing, kayaking or trekking a bit to another side of Railey, Tonsai is just so irresistible! Definitely come back and stay again! Ken & Hana

• Chillout is on a beautiful setting at the end of the 'main road' in Tonsai. The bungalows are very, very basic (bring towels!) but quite spacious and the staff, specially Isabelle in reception, are really friendly and welcoming. The bar has a very lively atmosphere in the evening, music and pretty amazing fire dance performances.

• Nice bungalow in a beautiful bay! Nice people and a relaxed atmosphere, would recommend to go there!

Andreas2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
• I would not recommend staying at this hostel. Occasionally, the water wasn't working and the shut down of electricity wasn't convenient for us. Furthermore, the bungalows don't include any lockers and people have been robbed in the same week as when we stayed there. However, the staff is really lovely and warm and the location is perfect. It's a small beach and perfect for climbers.

Where you can feel at home, enjoy the local culture and home cooked Thai meals. I have a 2 bedroom cottage so you should expect to be able to have some privacy. There are blankets and pillows for you to use and a fan to keep you cool at night.
Experience staying in a bamboo hut in a local Thai area. Learn about thai culture, thai ways, the delicious food and have fun partying with Ao Luek locals.
Ao Luek is a about 40 Kms north of Krabi Town. It is a very beautiful town surrounded by limestone jungle covered mountains. There is a great national park in town with a natural spring coming from under the mountains, with many swimming ponds and small waterfalls. Nearby on one of the estuaries of Phangna Bay is a small village known as Bor Tor. There you can hire kayaks to paddle to caves hidden in the mountains, it is really amazing. Tree top adventure. tracking Elephant And Drive ATV. There is excellent food to be had in Ao Luek and it is not expensive at all. There are also a couple of really fun local pubs with live local bands playing music. The north market is very big and quite cheap, so if you need to buy more clothes or whatever, then that is the place to go. Buses to and from Phuket via Krabi, pass through Ao Luek all the time from early in the morning to late at night. A couple of days in Ao Luek will be a memorable experience for you, as you will experience an authentic Thai town and see and do somethings that most tourists have never heard of.
• I had verry nice Time at Wit Space and I felt welcome. I liked the landscape and there is a Lot to explore. I think i will visit Wit again.

• Great place to disconnect and meet great people in a super friendly environment. As people have already said, it is more an experience than anything else. Kowit and Zak are super hosts and the activities they provide are super fun!

• We had a lot fun staying with Wit. Island style vibes and atmosphere. His friend Zac gave us a nice tour of the some cool watering holes and kayaking. We had a great adventure going to a couple of the islands that were around and swimming during the sunset was very nice. Wit is an excellent host.

• This place is very charming. Quite like other reviews say, you get the opportunity to live as one of the natives. Kowit was very helpful and his friends were incredibly warm and welcoming! which made us feel like part of the family. Make sure you ask Dani to take you to his family's restaurant. DANI'S FAMILY MAKES THE BEST FOOD IN THAILAND. No exaggeration. Overall it was a pretty incredible experience. Although a word of advise if you are black, People in this part of Krabi are stare ALOT! If you wave and smile they do return the gesture. I definitely recommend staying here. It's an eye opening experience.

• What a beautiful place :) arriving here was like a scene from a movie, the bamboo huts are incredibly well built and offer a feeling of wild and adventure. The team are welcoming and full of adventure and spirit. I'm not a big night time or drinking person, so I took it easy and had some early nights, but if your looking to immerse yourself in a place of tunes, chill, laughter, stories and away from the typical tourist place then this is a memorable stay. I had the amazing opportunity to get out on some adventures. Zak is an incredible guide and a huge part of the spark to this place. Defiantely take the tome to connect with other guests and organize a trip. Thanks team for making my short stay a valuable one :) B

• Our stay in the bamboo hut was quite exotic and we enjoyed it. The location is in a quiet place so they have scooters to explore around. Due to the bad weather we weren't able to do much but Zach showed us a nice pound where we were able to bathe and have fun. Thank you for everything!

Geneviève2017-01-11T00:00:00Z
• Kowit is a great host and the place is amazing. Off the beaten path and easy enough to get to. The location offered access to areas and activities that are normally hard to easily access for visitors and we had a genuinely warm welcome from him and his friends. They are already missed! Great place to start or end a trip.

David2015-02-14T00:00:00Z
• A lovely stay, feels like staying in a treehouse at a friends house. Food in the evening was absolutely amazing so highly recommended! You feel like you’ve stepped into a community and welcomed in. We had an amazing time just enjoying the scenery as well as listening to the guys play their music. Kowit is a great host and very quick to help when needed.

• Really a special host !! thanks for your super hospitality , we really appreciate your availability for help us to organize our stay and our journey Your “ tree house” is really a wonderful place to stay , our compliments for the arrangements Thanks

Michele2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
• The tree House was so cool, it’s very nicely decorated and in a beautiful location. we really appreciate how the hosts went above and beyond to provide breakfast, give tips and help us get around. they were so accommodating and even drove us to the airport!

Kelly2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
• wonderful tree house, our kids had a happy original ecology experience here. The house owner Ouddy is a nice guy who provided us lots of practical suggestions. He drove us to Doi Suthep and Wood caving village as a local guide, what a warm and gentle man! Highly recommended!

Winnie2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
• A wonderful treehouse, nothing fanxy but great fun. The beds and bedding so comfortable and welcoming. The treehouse is on 2 floors and very spacious, our family loved it, over looking a lake in which you can fish if you wish. The owners though make the place really fantastic, they really go all out to make you happy and for ys that worked. Sat on the verandah enjoying cold drinks as the sunsets is lovely. Plenty of family friendly reastaurants close by Nics place amd triplets both having great playareas at them. Overall a really wonderful experience as long as you are not expecting 5* luxury then you shall get a 5* experience.

Andy2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
• Host is wonderful. Very gracious and accommodating. We checked in late and he made sure we got settled in and gave us other room option on the property when it rained on us and we couldn’t sleep in the tree house.

• The tree house we stayed is so lovely. And the best part about this place is the landlord. Ouddy is a super nice person. I would definitely come back to visit. He is very caring and helpful. This experience is amazing!definitely recommend for people who are looking for a quite and unique place to stay!

• This special nook was surprisingly secluded, despite being only a couple blocks from a main road. The treehouse was quaint and clean, but of course there are bugs (like a legit jungle experience!). The hosts were very accommodating and helpful! Recommend for a unique experience!

At the foot of the amazing Tonsai Limestone cliffs and only a short 5 minutes walk to the beach you can find our cosy Chill Out bungalows. Perfect for back packers wanting authentic back packing accommodation like it used to be.
There are some Restaurants, Bars, Mini markets, Internet Cafe, Tour Shops and Climbing Shops on Tonsai beach. Although it is not big here, I am sure you will find all you need.
• Lerrin made our stay really pleasant, welcoming, introducing us to the place and our priate bungalow. It was a please to stay in this atmosphere for few days, and their homemade "burger king" with the chicken burger = perfect ! ;) Bungalow is backpacker friendly : - No aircond or fan - No lectricity from 6AM to 6PM - Cold shower (but it's nice according to the weather over there !) - comfy bed (with anti-mosquito protection which is mandatory !)

Nils2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
• The place was just as we expected, the only thing that the host forgot to mention was that there is no flush in the toilet and you need to dump a bucket of water. The location is great and the views from the bungalows are amazing! I also like the style of these little huts. There are many places to eat in a close proximity. You can get coffee/breakfast quite early in the morning. The chill out bar is nice, because you can lie down and there is always a slack line set up, however the people who work there urge you to buy drinks all the time in a very annoying manner. It didn't feel nice to be in that bar. The sheet on the bed looked dirty and there was no sheet to use as a cover, but a blanket instead. I don't understand why you need a blanket in 35 degree heat. Also that blanket felt like it hasn't been washed in a while. Other than that our stay was great, there are a lot of things to do in tonsai. It's an amazing place!

Olga2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
• Host was very friendly, everybody was, I cannot complain about this. But it is a pity about that beautiful place to have garbage scattered everywhere on the beach and water full of rocks.

Pompy2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
• My friend and I absolutely loved our stay! It was so much fun and very friendly and relaxed. It's not a four star luxury resort... It's so much more than that! If you're looking for a place to meet some wonderful people and have a fantastic time while gaining a unique experience, then this is it. This is the sort of place that just hugs you and invites you in. We wanted very much to stay longer. Thanks so much for one of the highlights of our trip around Southeast Asia! I expect I'll be back someday.

Wendy2015-01-31T00:00:00Z
• We are so in love with this place, nice people, nice accommodation, perfect location!

Lisa2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
• Probably the best part is the hang out vibe. It was hampered by the unusual rain during my trip but was otherwise great.

Vish2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
• Amazing experience to stay in the bungalows, highly recommend if you want a couple days away from everything to just enjoy Thailand! The beach is beautiful and the whole area doesn't feel touristy unlike a lot of beaches. The peanut butter banana pancakes for breakfast were incredible!

Teagan2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
• Chill out is exactly as advertised. Great atmosphere, clean and comfortable. The staff were super friendly and helpful and we had one of our best nights just hanging with the staff at the bar. Two things I wasn't aware of (probably because I didn't look), no hot water and no flush toilets. These are small details which we probably only noticed because of getting sick around the time we stayed at chill out. Also bring mosquito spray! We met Lerrin on our way out and she was very sweet. Excellent value for what you're paying and would definitely stay again.

Built in 2014, Coffee and Resort is a distinct addition to Koh Phayam (Ranong) and a smart choice for travelers. Situated only 1.0 Km from the pier and 1.0 Km from the city center, you are well located to enjoy the town's attractions and activities.
We would like to invite you to visit our shady tranquil resort with prIvacy atmosphere for your happy and memorable holidays.
unique cottage with beautiful surrounding, Sipping coffee under the big trees.
• Our stay at coffee and resort was awesome! The bungalow was small but looked really nice and was quite comfortable. Also the terrace of our bungalow was a peaceful place to spend some time and relax. We also spend every morning and a few evenings under the cashewnuttree which provides a great athmosphere even if you need some time to get used to the bright lighters which are decorated at the tree. The food was tasty and the drinks (anan's shakes and ice teas) were incredible! Our host anan was really funny and we were sad to leave him. We would like to come back!!

Hannah & Benedikt2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
• The host canceled this reservation 20 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

Sarah2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
• Cute place to stay! The hosts were great, very helpful when it cames to small issues like spider size and travelling back to the dock for our boat. Would definitely go back!

• We stayed at Coffee and Resort on Kho Phayam for 4 days and we like the place a lot. The island is amazing. People are great. We had wonderful hosts, good coffee and food, wonderful sounds during the day and at night by the surrounding woods. To reach it and get to the beach easily as well as for exploring the island I would recommend renting a motorcycle (which you can do at Coffee and Resort) or a bike. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Kristin2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
• We stayed for three nights during the low season and we would not stay again-- or at least not book through Airbnb outside of high season. It was startlingly poor value to stay here during this time (about 850baht $35CAD) and we felt very unhappy with having booked this accomodationahead of time. The best part was that the proprietor of the establishment, based off the island (Champaron), allowed us to alter the booking so we could shorten our stay from the originally booked five nights. Thank you for this! However, we loved the island and we ended up stayed in s better value and more comfortable place for another week elsewhere on the island. In the rain there is no shared or private covered areas in the "resort" so it makes it kind of difficult to stay just inside the furniture free bungalow with only some bugs and mice for company. No furniture or hammock on the uncovered porch of the bungalow. The family employed and staying there to host were very sweet, attentive and kind. They did a good job of being hosts. They presented as sad when we left early, and I doubt they had an understanding of how much guests are being overcharged. He worried if we had not been happy with them and we just explained that our plans changed but that they did a good job. Good coffee. Although for food we found better value elsewhere. Thankfully we could rent motorcycle so we could enjoy the beach and other eateries. You basically need a motorcycle if you stay here. Is summation: This is budget quality with luxury prices. We have stayed in many inexpensive, sweet, quaint and rustic bungalows during our travels abroad and at home tent camping and adventure is one of our chosen ways to spend our summers. This means we are no strangers to the elements or the company of small creatures and bugs. We choose to travel in low season because we enjoy the quiet and don't mind the weather variations. However for the comparative cost of this place, the bugs and poor accommodation were not okay. Perhaps in the high season or if the cost were lowered by at least half in the low season, this could be a okay place.

Michelle2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
• A peaceful and friendly place. The bungalows are lovely. We enjoyed to stay at Coffe and Resort.

Evelyn2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
• This place was so nice, even though it's not next to the beach it's a great central location and a beautiful setting. When we arrived they took our bags and gave us glasses of orange juice. The bungalows were just the right size and the coffee and everything else on the menu is absolutely delicious! The staff was so kind and helpful - they'll even do your laundry free of charge! Don't forget your mosquito repellent, they aren't out in the day just mornings and evenings. And if you're a light sleeper maybe bring some earplugs or headphones, there was a touke lizard residing under our bungalow who howled all through the night. Despite some mild sleep deprivation with the noisy lizard neighbor, we had an exceptional stay here and hope to come back again!

Samantha2017-02-21T00:00:00Z
• Our whole experience here was carefree. Super clean, well kept and just as seen in the photos. This is the perfect spot if you are into exploring the whole island as its pretty much in the centre of everything while, at the same time, being quiet and out of the way. Staff are all really nice and fun and the owners are really thoughtful. The place really comes alive in the afternoon when everyone on the island with a nose for good coffee congrigates and lounges. Life under the cashew tree is pretty great!

• This place is unique and absolutely amazing. I've travelled a lot, and never come across anywhere quite like Ao Luek Paradise. The view from your hut, the whole scenery, the places these guys take you to, the hospitality and the way they run the whole place will give you a truly unforgettable experience. Apart from my closest friend's homes, I've never been offered food and drinks so generously, with no bill at the end! I've read before about thai hospitality, but what I experienced here was way more! It can be called a few things: a hippie paradise, a real thai experience, a little heaven for being free and relaxed etc. These things being said, I'll say it's definitely not for everyone. If you are not easy going and treasure true freedom in simple living conditions, go somewhere else. Thank you Zac,Kowit and Yok, I do hope we see each-other again and I will welcome you in my house anytime you want to visit London or Romania, while Rob waits for you on his boat in Birmingham.

• KOWIT! You are the BEST! Thank you for welcoming us to your wonderful home. It was a blast sharing those couple of nights with my loved ones and yours. Thank you time and time again for having us as your guests and being a great host. You definitely put the cherry on top on our trip through Thailand. ขอขอบคุณ เพื่อน

• Kowit picked us up from the airport for 800 Bhat. We stayed in one of his outdoor huts for 2 nights. There is a full set program (at a cost) waiting for you once you arrive and Kowit's counterpart Zach takes you through it (it includes zip-linining, boating between islands, and kayaking). You'd do all these things anyways when you're in Krabi, but by being in a remote location as this you sort of have to do it via Wit and Zach, which isn't necessarily bad, though limiting., which unnerves a western. Westerners like options. Everything went well and we were very happy with our visit and Wit even let us borrow his motorbike at no extra cost.

Eli2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
• Sooooo magical and peaceful place~Wit and Zac prepared everything you can imagine ~thank you for so much unforgettable and amazing memories ,definitely will come again ❤️

Jing2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
• Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is fantastic! I came as a solo traveller and left with new friends and family. The huts are beautifully made with everything you'd need, and they offer incredible experiences for a fraction of what you'd pay somewhere else or through an agency (seriously, do the cave trek and kayaking, and more if you have time!) There is a great community feel with music sessions after a delicious dinner where everyone hangs around or joins in and Kowit's friends stop by and turn it into a super performance - you'll see what I mean when the violin and flute come out! - and if that's not your cup of tea, there are games to play or just a beautiful backdrop with mountains and jungle to admire and get lost in. If you're looking for somewhere to just rest your head and leave, this isn't for you. But if you want a one of a kind experience that you'll cherish forever and to meet amazing people, stop reading this and book now! Will definitely be back soon!

We are a low budget destination stay for runners, hikers, swimmers and cave explorers or anyone just wishing to just hang out, work on their laptops or relax and do nothing. We are located 30 kilometers outside Chiang Mai city, on the outskirts of Ob Khan National Park. We are 8k from the Care for Dogs dog rescue center and house many of the guests who volunteer there..
Hello and welcome to Boo's Adventurer's Paradise. Please read everything in the descriptions below, so there are no misunderstandings. We are located 30 kilometers outside Chiang mai city, in a small village next to Ob Khan National Park and have 3 beautiful bamboo huts for rent. The huts can accommodate 2 people on a twin size bed and comes with a mosquito net, lamp, fan, electrical outlet, outside sitting area and a place for your clothes.
I am located in a small village with all the sites, smells and sounds you would expect from a Thai village, Including monkeys, roosters, dogs, lizards, chickens, birds, insects and chanting monks. Sorry to disappoint a few of you, but there are no night clubs, karaoke shops, go-go bars or lady boy shows in the village. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from the city of Chiang Mai to my place (Excluding rush hour). We are close to the Chiang Mai Grand Canyon, National Park and Baan Tawai Handicraft Village.
• If you're the type to experience the hustle and bustle of old city and be immersed in the nightlife, then the location is too far for you. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind that has no lights on the local roads leading to the location, then you will like the set up the host has. The cleanliness of some of the washed dishes is also questionable. However, the host is very welcoming and provided a free airport pickup and drop off during my short stay there. She also assisted me by buying local food and renting a motorbike.

• Boo’s bamboo hut haven is really quite lovely. Boo and Scott make a considerable effort to create a comfortable environment, and they’re always available. The huts are quite cozy. I’d imagine they’re hot in the summer, but they were perfect in the winter. The only minor issue is how far outside Chiangmai center they’re located. It’s great to have the secluded nature at the end of the day, but can get pricey taking Uber back and forth. Definitely orient yourself with the location during the daytime. Most drivers don’t even know the location; so you will need to know, especially at night. Overall, really great experience. I look forward to staying again!

Ashley2018-01-09T00:00:00Z
• This place is the bees knees. Scott and Boo are great hosts - delicious home cooked meals, chats and beers around the bonfire... all-time laid back vibes if you're looking for some downtime in the country. The huts and facilities/common areas are well maintained, clean, and you have quite a bit of privacy. Super convenient to have scooters you can rent right on the property - you definitely need to be able to ride a scooter out here - It's real country living, so scooting around from spot to spot is ideal. Loved ripping over to OB Khan national park for a swim in the river - its clean, quiet, and only frequented by locals. Highly recommend this spot for anyone that wants to get away for some countryside downtime... complete with real live rooster alarm clock :)

mina2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
• Boo and Scott are fantastic and very nice hosts! They picked us up right at our previous hotel in Chiang Mai city center and were very flexible regarding the pick up time. Boo offers dinner and breakfast at low cost and she is a great cooker! Best Thai food so far. The hut and the place are wonderful if you want to explore the nature near Chiang Mai city. We will definitely come back next time we are in Thailand!

• After deciding to do something a little different this time, being apprehensive of what to expect at Phanpaporn, we were delighted to find this very sweet place out side Chiang Mai. We had just come from Bangkok and wanted to escape the hustle and bustle and this was a great find. Boo and Scott were very helpful with lifts and advice about where to eat locally. They had bicycles and mopeds for hire, honestly with out one or the other it would be quite hard to get around, you can walk to the shop and to the bar but anything else you need wheels. The shop closest is stocked with mostly drinks and snacks. Nothing extensive if you prefer to cook at Phanpaporn you’ll need to ride to the bigger food store. Also if you prefer wine, I could only find a fizzy wine in places near by and it wasn’t the best! If I had stayed longer I would have for sure got my own stock. I’m gluten intolerant so can’t drink beer, which there is plenty of around. We visited the elephant sanctuary which was brilliant, and explored on a moped to the surrounding areas, there’s a shooting range (quite expensive) panoramic cafe and bar -highly recommend and just 5 minutes away from Phanpaporn we found a family owned bar on the main road side, had a very fun time here, they were accommodating and friendly. We used (Hidden by Airbnb) translate to communicate as there English was quite limited. The accommodation itself is clean, the lovely flower decorations are a nice added touch. There is a communal area to have breakfast or a few drinks. Which is stocked with cooking equipment, fridge, sink. The hut was very cosy, cool at night so don’t worry about no air con, there is a fan but you don’t necessarily need it. Space is limited inside the hut but we made do on the varanda with our bags and it works out fine. The mosquito net is a really great touch to the bed! If you enjoy camping this is for you! The 3 dogs are friendly, they come and say hello then they will just chill in the sun, they are no bother. Very cute. I only wish we could have stayed longer and had a fire and some drinks with Scott and Boo, next time!

• This place is ideal for some R&R time, away from the towns and cities, quiet, good wifi, hammocks and a great place to read a book and relax. We most enjoyed the community vibe of this place, with breakfast and dinner being served in the common room it gave us a great chance to meet and bond with the other guests staying at the time. Sitting around the campfire at night was always a great way to end the day. Dinner is always varied and amazing, (150 baht pp) our hosts also made a big effort to accommodate our meat-free diet. It was consistently the best food we had in Thailand. There also a really cool cafe nearby (20 mins walk) where you could easily spend hours reading and relaxing. This place is not ideal if you want to explore the area as taxis are hard to come by and although Boo and Scott are happy to drop you somewhere if they are going that way, you really need your own transport to truley explore. If relaxation is on your mind, head on over, you won't want to leave! Thank you for an amazing week, we came for a couple of days and stayed a whole week!

• The stay with Bpoo was the best! Communication was fantastic. She picked us up in Chiang Mai. The stay with her was sooo good. She is the best host. I have been in Thailand many times, but never experienced such lovely hospitality. She took us out for daytrips to national parks and to local markets. Her cooking was exceptional and she shared her recipes with us. The area is rural, with farang hardly seen. This means that when walking in the area, people want to talk and give you lifts. Everybody stayed longer then intended. I recommend Phanpaporn highly to anyone! And i will be back in a few months to spend some more time at her place.

• Peaceful and quiet place stay in Pai countryside,10-20 driving or around 40 min walk to centre of town. Cute cat and kind dog. Thanks for the breakfast offer to me~ The owner are kind and always help you.

• The bungalows were exactly what we wanted! In the communal areas and in front of each bungalow were hammocks to relax in. Park made excellent and cheap breakfast on request, and both park and noom were extremely helpful in dropping us into town and dispensing local advice. They were great hosts.

• This is a wonderful place to enjoy and explore Pai. The bungalows are beautiful--really thoughtfully decorated, very comfortable bed, lovely outdoor shower/bathroom, and a mosquito net but we didn't need it. The breakfast is incredible, as is all the cooking--we chose to eat dinner there twice and it's a great value. One of our favorite parts is all the seating areas they have set up with comfortable hammocks and pillows, we spent hours lounging and reading. As Park mentions, it is a few kilometers from town so it's best if you have a moped or take a taxi. Park graciously let us use his bikes which was great, but it is a bit of a strenuous bike ride back uphill from town. I absolutely recommend staying here, it was the perfect Pai experience.

• The Bannamhoo Bungalows was an awesome experience with a great location just close enough to most of the tourist locations and the town of Pai. Definitely rent a motorbike to travel, and both Park and Noam were fantastic and kind hosts who will show you around. It was a real pleasure staying at Bannamhoo Bungalows and recommend it for any travelers to Pai!

• I loved staying at Bannamhoo!! I ended up staying longer than I intended. The bungalow was cute and charming. There is an abundance of areas to relax and read a book or snooze, including your own personal hammock :) The location is great to relax and unwind and its not too far out of the town centre. Park and Noom are very friendly and helpful.

• The bungalow is beautiful and in peace. Park and Noom are very friendly and helpful, Park taught me how to ride a motorbike because that is the most convenient way for traveling in Pai.Unfortunately, he got injured, I'm so sorry for that. What else, after that, Noom will drive me to the town and back once necessary, I'll definitely live there once I come back to Pai!

• The bungalows were a very peaceful place to stay. You need to rent scooters which were delivered and picked up at the bnb. I enjoyed the rescue cats popping in for a visit....nice dogs as well.....the breakfasts we ordered were tasty and the coffee excellent..THANKYOU Park and Noom....The walking street in town is a great place to try different dishes for dinner.....

• The most AMAZING residence I stayed in Thailand! Park is friendly and welcoming, before I arrived, he gave me detailed info about how to get there and some useful advice. The courtyard is so lovely and beautiful which makes me wanna stay for a month. The house we live is super clean and tidy with a cute bath room. Though the house is a little far from town, if you rent s motorbike that'd be no problem.(it's the first time I ride a motorbike) If you want to visit Pai, Park's place will be a great choice.

A mix of luxury and rustic. Casual spot in the mountains next to rice fields, but close to town and Pai's attractions too. We try to keep it fun in the day, and quiet at night.
Set amidst rice fields, a true Thai style bungalow guesthouse located in the middle of paddy fields under the northern mountains in Pai, Thailand - a friendly and relaxing place where you can leave your cares behind. Guesthouse Features: - Tranquil, relaxed, hilltop setting - Fresh cafe - Western and Thai food - Private bathrooms with gas hot water and excellent water pressure - Free high-speed wireless internet access - Casual and friendly atmosphere - Affordable quality - Most bungalows have king-size premium quality beds, all have ensuite bathroom and a beautiful relaxing balcony - Peace and quiet just fifteen minutes walk from town center. About Pai, Thailand Pai is a small town, nestled in a lush valley in Northern Thailand. A gentle breeze blows often, cool and refreshing, as one finds only in the Northern Thai region. Foreigners and Thais co-exist here in a harmonious melange of artists, musicians, city-dwellers on holiday, nature enthusiasts, and adventurous backpackers. Most people extend their stay when possible, and many return to this special place. This has led to an increase in tourist numbers, and an improved infrastructure to accommodate more people. Despite some progress, Pai is still a beautiful and charming place, where you can find relaxation and peace.
It's awesome to live here! Most guests sleep soundly, sometimes awakening to the sounds of our ducks. You will be treated to a beautiful view of the mountains and rice fields when you roll out of bed. You can then lounge on your balcony, or walk over to our reception cafe for a cup of strong coffee or breakfast.
• IT is amazing!! The room and the surroundings are so beautiful!!! It is even not very far from the city center. I really recommend it.

2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
• Ming and Jake have an amazing place that's within really easy reach of town center of Pai. They are super friendly and Ming can really cook! The best part of their place is that despite the setting, mosquito was not a problem at all and we had really good sleeps under the mosquito net. Too bad our stay was capped by our limited time in Thailand but we would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay at Pai!

Isaac2013-02-12T00:00:00Z
• Jake was great in picking us up at the bus station after the most twisting and curvy mountain road trip I have ever taken- in a mini van from Chang Mai. The locals advertise the trip on T shirts "over 1000 curves". But once you get here the laid back vibe of the town takes you in and Jakes place, being just over the river bridge, is a quieter place to relax and just be. Oh, the gentle quacking of the ducks will tell you its morning, but unlike roosters there is none of that middle of the night raucous noise. We stayed in a private cabin, all natural materials, nice hot shower a few steps down and a pretty standard hard Thai type mattress. They offer food also and it is generally quite good- usually Ming doing the cooking. Specially liked the duck eggs when they were available. The views ARE great; stars quite brite too; and in November when we stayed the nights were cool and the mornings were foggy. Nice comforter to snuggle under. A half a kilometer and you are in town so a motorbike is only something you would really need while touring the local sights- hot springs-waterfalls- villages- you get the idea. It appears to be a continuing work in progress and I hope to visit again soon! Kyle, host of Circa 1886 Mansion homestay, Wash. DC USA

• This was a beautiful location and was perfect for us while staying in Pai. We liked the feeling of community and friendliness of the hosts and other guests. The room was simple, but clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We would stay here again!

• Heaven on earth. If I ever had a mid-life crisis, this is where I will be. My friend and I originally came for 2 days and I ended up bailing on the rest of our plans so I could stay for a week. Pai is incredible as it is, but Ming and Jake offer an oasis away from the main touristy stuff. Even though you feel transformed in the peaceful rice fields surrounded by mountains, you're still less than a 10 minute walk into town. The lodging is fantastic, clean, and affordable. Ming and Jake are easy going and friendly, and their food is fantastic. Ming makes incredible western and thai dishes and Jake is a fabulous baker. If the amount of fried noodles in thailand won't get me, Jake's homemade bread, pastries, and cookies will!

Sandy2012-12-20T00:00:00Z
• We loved staying with Jake and Ming. Here food is delicious and they help you with everything. We wanted to do yoga and we were lucky that there were yoga classes starting the week we were there. It was amazing with the best view. They have a really nice son and we want to say hi to him because we didn't saw him wen we said good bye. We definately recommend this place.

L2015-07-15T00:00:00Z
• Ming and Jake were so nice and make us feel very welcome! The house was amazing with a very good bed and shower. The view was also really nice. We are sure that we will come back here!

Lisa2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
• Ming was so friendly and welcoming! Oh… and a great cook. This is a fun little compound of several bungalows in the beautiful Pai valley. We were there in the dry season but would so love to return when the rice paddies are flooded. You'll want some sort of transportation (motorbike) while staying here to access all that the town of Pai has to offer.

• A little difficult to find GPS & local taxi drivers couldn't get me there, but apart from that Kumi's place was charming. Lovely hosts couldn't of been more helpful, amazing food. Bedroom was clean & basic perfect to stay for a couple of nights

Jenna2017-02-04T00:00:00Z
• Kumi’s place is great and very friendly ! They’re very nice people and the location is good to visit Bangkok. They speak english well so it’s good to speak and know about getting around.

Lucas2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
• Chumy’s house is well located, very close to the center (10-15 minutes walking from Khao San Road) and to a boat station. Chumy wasn’t there when we arrived but her staff welcomed us nicely. It was a charming experience with locals, much better than to stay in an hotel where you can only meet tourists. There is no hot water but even if there were we wouldn’t have used it (it is very refreshing after a day in the hot air of the city to take a cold shower). We recommend the place !

Céline2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
• Perfect location and marvellous hospitality!!! You feel like at home. The restaurant downstairs serves amazing food!

Marta2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
• Amazing guesthouse 10min from Khao San road, 1min from nearest 7eleven. This is a budget offer so not for people who look for luxurious aparments, but once you're fine with slightly cooler water (it's actually perfect for Bangkokian temperature!) or non-AC room, you'll love this place and its host! Big bonus is the restaurant downstaris, the best curry and fruit we tried in Thailand so far! I fully recommend this!

Tomasz2017-12-01T00:00:00Z
• Thank to Kumi for these 2 days. It was a really good time in this guest house! Kumi is a really good host!

• We had a great time staying at Kumi’s. The is the sweetest, the food is delicious and the place is located perfectly. The place itself is quite basic but for that price more than enough. We would stay here again any time.

With a limited capacity of 19 guests, Bananas Bungalows is the ideal place to relax with a book on the shady bungalow porch, laze in a hammock or deck chair on the pier, or be treated to superb Thai cuisine including fresh seafood, delicious curries and refreshing fruit shakes all lovingly prepared in our restaurant by Bananas Bungalows wonderful local chef Tscha Dam. We look forward to welcoming you to your home away from home at Bananas Bungalows resort - the gathering place of spectacular sunsets!
• While we were at Bananas the weather decided rain would be better than sunshine, just bad luck. Bananas is located in the mangroves with a jetty going out to water or sand, depending on the tides. When the tide is out you can walk to the water and discover starfish and little crabs by the thousands, very interesting. we also went swimming at night with the phytoplankton, that was an amazing experience! There are kayaks to rent with wich you can paddle for hours visiting little uninhabited islands or a secret beach or two, great fun even if it rains. Bananas is fairly isolated and a back to nature kind of place, we were in a bamboo hut It’s a great place to get to know people because everyone hangs out and eats in a general area together. The Thai style evening meals were also all together and delicious. Missing Thailand already!

• Olly is a great host. Bananas is a fantastic place to stay for a chilled break. The pictures definitely do it justice. Highly recommended.

Ed2015-11-27T00:00:00Z
• Everything was amazing, Olli and the whole team was super helpful and nice. The camp area is one of the most peaceful places I've ever visited, perfect for relaxing. The bungalows are clean and surprisingly comfy :) They've got a well-organized, great system offering a lot programs during the day. And the little animal colony at Bananas is just the best thing in the whole world <3 Thank you guys!

• Bananas is where it's at. You can be social, or alone and there's no pressure and no worries. A perfect getaway from it all! Oliver and Andrew will help you with anything you need, and the day trips they offer help the local community and keep you away from the hectic masses. I love bananas !

• I truly can’t say enough positive things about our stay here. Communication was outstanding and we had a taxi waiting for us at the airport. The second we got out of the taxi we were overwhelmed with the beauty of Bananas Bungalows— the natural forest and the pier going out to the water was so scenic and relaxing. Everything you need— 3 meals a day, coffee, wine, bug repellent, etc— is all available and you simply write down what you take and (Email hidden by Airbnb) munal dinners are served every night and guests are there from all over the world. We met so many great people and had amazing conversations. It was nice being away from the party/backpacker scene and somewhere relaxing and beautiful. We rented a motorbike and were able to get to all of the main beaches and tourist attractions within 20-30 minutes, by trust me you won’t even want to leave Bananas Bungalows! Ollie will also help you arrange all of your tours and taxis during your stay there, making it very simple for you. We can’t wait to come back. If you are unsure of where to stay, don’t wait another moment. Book Bananas, you won’t regret it.

Tiana2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
• If you decide not to stay here you're making a huge mistake. This place is exactly as it is described, a backpackers oasis off of the beaten path. If you're high maintenance leave that all at home! Very laid back atmosphere with delicious family style dinner each night. We found it refreshing not having to open our wallets the entire time as an honesty log book is used. The staff is exceptionally helpful and you won't ever run out of things to do here. Not to mention it is a perfect spot for glamping!! Make sure to give Elvis the cat a pat on the head for me!

Emily2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
• absolutely awesome experience staying at the Bananas. Oliver and the guys are extremely helpful in arranging all the things that we needed for the trip and the dinner is definitely something that I will miss. Had lots of fun talking to others staying on the compound and if you enjoy small chats over dinner, the communal dining experience is not to be missed. the scenery from the island trip is really stunning and i had so much fun exploring the area and looking for the secret beach. can't wait to be back to Bananas again. Thanks Oliver and his gang for the lovely experience :)

• I am so happy I found the Bananas! Oli & team made me feel super welcome, the place is beautiful and quiet away from it all, but still convenient. I wish I had had more time there, magical sunsets, amazing sounds from water and the birds and swimming at midnight with the fluorescent plankton was incredible. I met awesome individuals and the communal dining is a great experience. The bungalow where I stayed was beautifully rustic, had all the essentials and it was very peaceful. Cannot recommend this place enough!

• It took our taxi driver nearly an hour to find the location. Then we had to wander down a dark dirt track at night. The man at reception seemed to have no idea who we were and wasn't expecting guests. He then showed us our room, which was crawling with cockroaches and spiders. Now going into this I was aware it wasn't going to be luxury and would be very much the basics. But I expected it to be at least clean and roach free. Evidently not. WiFi only available in communal area with 3 dogs, none in rooms. We had 2 nights booked but left after 20 mins and found a nice cheap, clean hotel 10 mins down the road. I feel like this is quite expensively priced for what it is. I would have put everything else aside and stayed if it wasn't for the cockroaches. We told them there were insects in the room and he said he would fix it but we went in again and still loads of roaches.

• I had a great time. It's near Ao Nam Mao pier (about a 10-15 minute walk), which gets you access to Railay and Ao Nang. They can also call you a cab. Just don't expect a hotel style lodging. Expect a rustic experience. You'll see bugs in your room and hear bugs outside. You're in a bungalow with a thatched roof in the jungle. It's not the Ritz. But you can have AC and or a fan (I had both) and there is plenty of libations and other things (420) to enjoy. The guests come from all over and are fun to get to know. It's a very chill, Rasta vibe. The staff are all locals and friendly. Other nice touches include breakfast that is included (you cook it yourself though), on-site massage therapists that are talented and professional (licensed), and lots of outdoor seating and hammocks. Manage your expectations and come with the right mindset, and you'll love. If you come with mismatched expectations, you won't.

• This place is awesome. Perfect and quick communication all the time. Check in was no problem. The Bungalow was very clean and is very spacious including a amazing sea view. The view is amazing. The location is at a very quiet beach. Great feelings, no stress at all. Backpacker Hotspot. We highly and strong recommend this place. This is the place to be. We definitely would stay here again. • Such a fun beach getaway! The hut we stayed at is described as on the beach front, but only one or two of the huts actually have a view of the water. The other beach front houses are in a semicircle so you're pretty close to the other huts. It's still a great stay since there's plenty of hammocks and lounging areas to sit and gaze out into the ocean and you can hear the ocean from the hut. I wouldn't really recommend swimming too much in the water though. There's quite a few shells and rocks and the water isn't as clear as other areas. I still went in though and the water is warm, but really salty. The hut was pretty basic with no frills. You're not there to sit in your hut anyways. I would say be careful you check the mosquito net. Didn't realize there were holes in ours so I got a lot of bites the first night. Just tie off the rips if there are any. The other guests staying there are super nice. You can opt to do the dinner buffet for 120 baht where Jango makes the food himself and everyone eats and chats like a family dinner. Would stay here again!

• The Ressort is really nice and one can see that is build with a lot of love. The huts are nice and with a very nice view to the beach. we had everything in the hut we needed. It is quite simple, but in our mind this is written in the description exactly correct. We were a bit unlucky because we had a massive rain ... and then the water came threw the ground in our bathroom and it smelled terrible ....That was the only thing we did not like. I think if there was nice weather the Ressort is perfect for a Relaxing time. We could come again !

• When we booked this Air BnB we wanted something unique and off the beaten path that took advantage of what Thailand had to offer. A hut by the beach is exactly that. Set on a secluded bit of beach near a long tail boat launching point, the Dawn of Happiness is a relaxing low-key and low-tech way to vacation. The hut we rented had A/C which we mostly used to cut the extremes and remove humidity and rudimentary hot water for the shower. Otherwise it is 100% "hut by the beach" and affected by traditional plumbing issues (paper in the bin) and, in our case, an unusual power cut for maintenance one day. That said, there are plenty of hammocks, benches, the opportunity for a beach side massage, and even cats and dogs to pet or walk with. Swimming is literally less than 10 meters from the front door and if you need some excitement a local bus (jeepney) or taxi can take you to other beaches, piers or tourist and shopping areas. This was a perfect middle of our trip to recover from the tourist site heavy bustle of Bangkok before heading onward by ferry to Phuket via Phi Phi.

• Krabi is a great town for beaches and this location dawn of happiness was so cute. Hammocks and wooden bridges to walk over in the sand, wonderful staff, the buffet dinner was so delicious , our bungalow was cute and the mosquito net was helpful to keep mosquitos awAy even though there weren't really any bugs besides one or two random ants , except outside near water watch for mosquito bites! The buffet was so good and spicy which we loved! You can buy beers and cold bottled water from the front desk also at any time. In the morning we walked down the road about 5/10 walk to Jasmine rice and also can walk along the beach to the pier to catch a boat to railay beach. The bungalows were built well because it was raining and pouring and we stayed warm and cozy. There are cute kittens running around too and they are so friendly. Next door is a beach club where we enjoyed appetizers and drinks. Your literally a few feet from the shore of the ocean and we went swimming and enjoyed the view.

• Dawn of happiness is a good choice if you are looking to get away in a secluded stretch of beach. The staff are friendly and helpful with any questions you have. The only down sign are pest. There are major gaps in the door frames and there was also a large crack in our wall. Various bugs and mosquitoes find their way through these gaps into your room. The beds are equipped with mosquito nets. Other than that one issue, I found the place to be accurate in its description.

Javier2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
• Honestly, this place wasn't for us in the long run. And we aren't people looking for a 5 star hotel experience; we're long-term backpackers. But note that there aren't any pictures of the inside of the bungalows which is a giveaway in any airbnb listing. The first bungalow (#12) we had was really dreary with the lighting and cleanliness; we slept on two twin beds that had zero cushion which meant we were literally sleeping on the springs. We were told these beds were very good by Thai standards, which is fine, but that's not who you're hosting. I don't think you can realistically expect visitors to adapt to something like that, especially if the beds cause or exacerbate back problems. The hosts were fortunately open to changing our bungalow, and we stayed in a nicer one that was cleaner, had better lighting and more comfortable beds (#9). The staff was hit or miss in terms of being welcoming; it seemed you had to be there for a while for them to warm up to you. The atmosphere was very chill - mostly too chill as to where you had to search for someone to help you. Originally we had booked for 7 days, and only stayed 4 or 5 because we just wanted to move on. I think 3-5 days is probably the ideal range for staying here. We do appreciate that the hosts were flexible with our lodging. The highlight was how easy it was to meet other guests who were very cool people, and we hung out with them everyday. While this place is cheap and in a good location, I think we'd find a different place to stay if we came back to the area, but I see reasons why it works for other people.

Alyssa2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
• Dear traveller, please don't be fooled by good reviews on this place as it is a trap. Only people with low hygiene standards would love it to bits. Please note there is no photo of bungalow interior, I would not make mistake booking it if I have seen the interior photos first! It's damp and dark inside, bathroom looks unsafe to enter barefoot, water pressure is low, sheets not clean, there were half inch cracks in the walls, no proper furniture and there was a bee hive(!) inside the wall as a bonus. I could hear bees crawling all night right above my pillow. I believe this all could have been sorted by the host, but he gone missing after check in and never replied. Site personnel were ok with fixing AC when I asked, but did not seem to be trained to be too helpful. Bottom line: this place is barely acceptable only if you need some cheap place to sleep close to a beach and you are fine with very basic comfort level. I am another type of traveller, I did not like it at all.

• What a beautiful location! Hosts were some of the nicest people we had the pleasure of meeting. Very helpful! We traveled with our 5 month old baby and they couldn’t get enough of playing and making her smile. Beautiful beach bar! Cooked fresh food on the fire Huts were very basic so if you are happy with a few bugs and basic shower for a pit stop to enjoy the area then it’s perfect. Well known and easy to find. Thank you so much!

• We arrived in Thailand on our first visit and thankfully had booked to stay at dawn of happiness, the place is fabulous! Surrounded by nature , on the beach and the friendliest hosts ever. The huts are clean and beds comfy, mozzie nets are provided also. Mr Munnis cooking is amazing and makes the experience feel homely ( also give his cocktails a go ) We booked again to end our trip here we enjoyed it so much. If you’ve any sense you’ll ignore the bad reviews It’s clearly not a 4 star resort but why bother going to Thailand if not for the experience of the culture and people. 5 stars from me!

Steph2018-02-03T00:00:00Z
• My husband and I saved Krabi and the beaches of Thailand for the last bit of our honeymoon and I'm so glad that we stayed at Dawn of Happiness! We woke up 50 steps from the beach each morning and a 5 minute walk to Ao nam Mao Pier. All of the people at Dawn of Happiness were so lovely and kind to us. The breakfast was a great way to plan the day - very simple, coffee, fruit, bread and eggs - but precisely what we needed to get us going til the next stop. The accommodations are basic because the location cannot be beat. If you are comfortable with an outdoorsy place (geckos, toads, etc) in a beautiful location at a GREAT price, this is your place. We lazed around in the hammocks near the beach, kayaked around, floated in the warm ocean, and took boats to visit other islands when we wanted to see more. It was easy to grab a 7 island boat tour and a longboat to Railay. We also rented a scooter and went out to emerald pool and the hot springs. We are so grateful to our kind hosts at Dawn of Happiness and would LOVE to come back again :)

• As it is mentioned in the description the place is not a 5 star plus resort, but it is definitley worth staying there. The area is wonderful and the beach is amazing with just a few people around. My sister and I enjoyed the tranquility and that the area was not overcroweded. You have everything you need. Although I have to say that it is no place for people who are no big fans of nature. You will for sure encounter some geckos and insects, but somehow it makes the place charming. The dinner is very good. It is buffet-like authentic thai food and they will also prepare vegetarian dishes, if you ask for it and there is always enough food for everyone. I would definitely recommend this place.

• Thanks so much for the great time! We loved the tours! We went in small Groups of max. 5 People and saw nature far away from all the tourists. The tours are the best thing we did during our trip in Thailand! Kowit and Zac are amazing people we became friends with. People around the world come here and have an amazing time together. Dinner together is so much fun. We will come back soon! try to come back soon and are excited to see your new place! Take care and say Hi to Zac. We miss you guys Kathrin & Omid :)

• i spent two day at kowit's place in september (offseason). i found there a silent place far away from the touristic places - exactly what i was looking for! there are a few bungalows, a kitchen and a bar where the local people use to meet in the evening to enjoy some beer and play some music on their instruments. if you want to explore ao luk and the beautiful islands you can book at kowit's place some tours of hiking, kayaking or a tour with a boat. kowit and his staff was always very friendly and attentively. all in all i can say i had two very interessting days, they were very authentic and peaceful, and i can really recomment to go there!

• It was safe and homely. I had a really good time as a solo female traveller. Many thanks to yoke, kowit and kowit's friends. Will definitely go back! Thank you!

• This place is perfect if you're looking for an experience off of the resorts and away from tourists and crowds. It's important to note that this kind of accommodation will not be for everyone. You must be comfortable taking showers in open-air stalls and you won't have a bathroom (or any running water) in your hut. I really enjoyed meeting other guests from all over the world and all of us coming together at night around the fire. I really enjoyed our kayaking trip to the caves, and Zachary was a phenomenal guide, taking us to remote places that are not usually a part of the "tour". Check out was easy and Kowit was very flexible and generous with regards to transportation to and from his place. I traveled as a single female travel and felt safe 100% of the time.

'The Hut' has 6 rooms, all with bathrooms. We are located just 50 meters from Klong Nin Beach. All rooms have basic facilities, including fan, clean bedding and towels. Two rooms feature hot water shower. We offer cheap, tasty food, great espresso.
We are one of the cheapest, friendliest places in Klong Nin beach. Come and visit us soon for a great vacation.
Klong Nin boasts one of the most beautiful beaches you will see anywhere. The beach is mostly empty but still provides a bunch of tasty restaurants. Off-shore you can find great scuba and snorkeling. Local markets offer great food at incredibly cheap prices.... Ko Lanta is surrounded by marine parks and tropical forests with an amazing array of flora and fauna including monkeys, bats, giant squirrels to name a few.
• My Husband and I stayed at the Hut for 7 nights. It was our first visit to Koh Lanta and our stay at the Hut couldn't have been more perfect. Louise and Eek truly are superb hosts and they provide excellent service. They are so friendly and welcoming. Our simply bamboo hut was immaculately clean and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant/bar has a great atmosphere and is a good place to chill, enjoy the delicious food and/or enjoy meeting other guests. We throughly enjoyed our stay here.

Janine2014-12-22T00:00:00Z
• Louise is a great host and The Hut is a great spot to stay. It was nice to have my own space with a hammock after a few weeks of staying with friends and in hostels. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for others. Thanks Louise ;)

Erin2016-01-20T00:00:00Z
• We had a cosy little hut complete with mosquito net and a very comfy hammock at the porch. A few minutes from the beach and immersed in tranquility. Louise is a fantastic host, she took the initiative to help us book our connection to the airport, got us a scooter (and lent us her own helmet) and was always available. When a little frog was jumping around in our hut, she was quick to chase it out for us. We had a wonderful two days there.

• We stayed at "The Hut" for 3 days and we wanted to stay longer. The atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful. The area was very beautiful. The room was basic but had everything we needed. The bungalows all had their own pirate porch with a hammock which was great and relaxing in the evening! The food was lovely very tasty. Louise and all the staff at the hut were helpful and always greeted was with smiles! There was so many animals it was great, we had little kitty visits each evening and the dogs in the morning. I would definitely stay here again!

Joanne2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
• We really enjoyed staying in the Hut! The bungalows are plain, but cosy and clean. It's such a perfect location near the beach and restaurants.

Anna2016-01-04T00:00:00Z
• Fantastic! The garden around the huts is planted with many tropical plants for a cozy relaxed atmosphere. The clean huts are very basic, with sheets, pillows, a blanket, a mosquito net, towels, and a simple bathroom. It rained hard one day and the thatched roof kept our rooms totally dry. The beach is a 2 minute walk across the street - we fell asleep each night listening to the waves. Louise is very friendly, and was quick to fix small problems that arose. The Hut is not fancy, just a simple, relaxing, quiet place to stay - absolutely perfect for us. We stayed 10 nights and hated to leave. The hammock outside each hut was a nice touch. The kids loved the little dog and cats, and the friendly waiter. We all loved the food. In 11 days, we tried many other restaurants along the beach, but ended up eating at least 2 meals a day at the Hut - the food was better than all of the beach restaurants combined. I highly recommend The Hut.

Robin2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
• The Hut is a great budget pick for the area! Close to yummy food served right on the sand, great massages, and easy to hail a Tuk-Tuk to get anywhere on the island. Our hosts were very available and we loved all the kitties!! Rustic and secluded. Try their northern noodles, so yummy!!!

Danny2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
• We arrived in the rain at 8pm after travelling for 10 hours. Louise showed us straight to our hut with no fuss at all, no paperwork or anything like that. The hut is pretty basic but a lovely relaxing space and great value for money, we enjoyed staying there so much! The location is on the quieter side of Koh Lanta, which is what we wanted, and there are lovely restaurants and beaches very close, nothing is far on a scooter anyway (you can rent them from right outside the huts for a decent price). There were also cute, friendly cats wondering around outside the huts, which was ideal for because I was missing my cats at home! We ended up extending our stay by about 4 nights and got another hut when my sister arrived. A massive thank you to Louise, your hospitality was much appreciated! Will definitely be back when we visit Koh Lanta again in the future.

Situated on the idyllic Tonsai Bay, nestled in the jungle, just a 5 minute walk from Tonsai beach you will find our Bungalows. Ideal for backpackers or people looking for a simple life our cosy bungalows will have all you need.
Nestled in the jungle just 5 minutes from Tonsai beach you will find our Thai style, cosy bungalows. The Family bungalow sleeps up to 3 people and is minimally furnished with essential items and includes its own bathroom with refreshing cold water shower.
• Tonsai was one of our favourite places in Thailand and Chillout Bungalows was the perfect place to stay. Basic, yes.. And Bugs, yes... But that's to be expected when staying in the jungle? Really fun and friendly bar with live music, would definitely go back again! X

• Make sure you check in early or the boats won't drop you Ton Sai beach. Tide is low you have to walk. Not for people with suitcases more for people who are backpacking.

• The definition of roughing it. The staff was great, and made up for the overall lack of attention to cleanliness and safety of the property. More attention to upkeep and maintenance is needed for this property.

• Chill out is a perfect place to stay. We were there already for the second time and will choose the same place if we'll still come back to Tonsai. Thank you for your hospitality! -Anna, Kaisa & Samuel

• Lerrin was really great about accommodating us on such late notice. The customer service at Chill out was good, everyone was really nice. However, this type of place wasn't for us. It was very minimal- much like camping in a cabin, and the village of tonsai is a bit trashy, which takes away from the beauty of the peninsula. You can get a lot more for your money at railay beach just across the bay.

Leigha2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
• Chill out was exactly as described, and the most delicious coffee. Tonsai is a gem!

Alicia2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
• LOVED this place! The staff and entire Chill Out family is so welcoming and fun. You are surrounded by nature and on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Little slice of rasta-reggae heaven. Delicious food, great live music and the best fire show you'll probably ever see. I am already excited for the next trip. Definitely staying here again.

Striking a balance between rustic and luxurious, Ing Doi is only ten minutes walk from town, but it feels a world away from the cares of the city. Mountain views, rice fields, ducks. A casual spot, helpful information is given with a smile, and you will be well cared for here.
Set amidst rice fields, a true Thai style bungalow guesthouse located in the middle of paddy fields under the northern mountains in Pai, Thailand - a friendly and relaxing place where you can leave your cares behind. Our location is ideal for those who want to experience nature and rest, but still be pretty close to town. In addition to our restaurant, other good food is only a few minutes away on foot. Ing Doi is a good starting out point for: >Mae Yen Waterfall hiking trail(~0.5km) >Walking Street/Night Market(~1km) >Thapai Hotsprings >Pai Canyon >Elephant Camps Guesthouse Features: - Tranquil, relaxed, hilltop setting - Fresh cafe - Western and Thai food - Private bathrooms with gas hot water and excellent water pressure - Free high-speed wireless internet access - Casual and friendly atmosphere - Affordable quality - Most bungalows have queen-sized premium quality beds, all have ensuite bathroom and a beautiful relaxing balcony - Peace and quiet just fifteen minutes walk from town center. Despite some progress, Pai is still a beautiful and charming place, where you can find relaxation quiet.
It's awesome to be here! Sleep well, and wake up to beautiful views. Lounge on the private balcony, and walk to our cafe for a cup of strong joe or breakfast.
• We had a great time here, and enjoyed our room and hosts very much. I planted a cactus with their son, and had a very relaxing and cool experience here. The rice paddies are a nice authentic touch to the stay, as you won't get a ton of Thai authenticity during your stay in Pai. Be warned - there are a lot of bugs here, and you will definitely encounter them. I don't know if this is something you'll be able to avoid anywhere in Pai, so just be prepared.

• Like many others we booked for 4 days and stayed for 10, and it was hard to leave, because this is such a wonderful place to stay. Pai is quite touristy, which was a bit of a turn off when we first got off the bus, but staying at Ingdoi with Ming and Jake is so relaxing with such excellent food that you can quite happily avoid town, although town grew on us more with time. The area outside of the centre is really nice and there is plenty to do if you want to such as trekking, tubing, swimming, hot springs or just mountain views, although its really nice to just hang out and talk with Ming & Jake as they are so lovely. Doing a cookig course with their friend Muk is a must though (we went twice!), and perhaps the only reason to eat anywhere else. Jake makes excellent breads including fantastic focaccia (better than some we have tasted in Italy) and a mean bruscetta, and Ming is a massive player on the curries and other Thai food, and then there are the shakes, the list goes on. I hope we will make it back to stay again.

• This place was awesome! So unique and a lot better than staying in town where it gets noisy or crowded. Loved the surrounding and the mountains too. The room itself was awesome with a nice fan and sweet hammock!

• Very lovely and quiet Place!

• Lovely bungalow in the rice paddies in lovely Pai. What a gorgeous place away from the reality of the world.

• Staying at Jake and Mink's bungalow was the biggest surprise and definitely a huge huge joy in my trip! And actually, I could say it's the best experience I had on the way! The simple yet really cozy space, the tranquil and picturesque surroundings and the hospitality and friendly ambiance that everyone creates made everything just warm and comfortable in its own way. Jake was such a nice and genuine host, not only did we have many pleasant small talks, but I also enjoyed the time I spent with his families and other guests there. He's also always ready to offer help yet without any pretense or excuses. The only regret that I had is that my holiday was not long enough! But if I ever visit Pai again, Jake and Mink's bungalow will definitely be my top choice! Jake, really miss you guys and everything in Pai! Thank you so very much!!!

• A nice location to be there. The laugh of Mink can you hear the whole day. She cooked very goed from 8.00 am till 8.00 pm. Only the nights are very cold so if you like to stay there in Janary take a warm swaeter and coat with you. Mink and Jake thanks for all.

• We stayed with Ming and Jake after some of our family members had stayed with them and highly recommended their accommodation. We regret nothing. We spent three nights in one of their cute, comforting bungalows; enjoying the peace and quiet at night and the beautiful views during the day. Lovely hosts, with a wonderful location.

At the foot of the amazing Tonsai Limestone cliffs and only a short 5 minutes walk to the beach you can find our cosy Chill Out bungalows. Perfect for back packers wanting authentic back packing accommodation like it used to be My place is close to great views and art and culture. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the neighborhood, and the kitchen. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and big groups.
There are some Restaurants, Bars, Mini markets, Internet Cafe, Tour Shops and Climbing Shops on Tonsai beach. Although it is not big here, I am sure you will find all you need.
• Chill Out Bungalows are fun and v v v chilled

• Expect to be in the woods. But nonetheless, an authentic bungalow experience.

Christian2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
• A good place to stay close to nature. Not far from the beach and with good restaurants around.

Eduardo2017-12-16T00:00:00Z
• First of all, this 'beach' bungalow was not on the beach but rather a 10 or so minute walk away in a Jungley area - the location is good in some ways but this name is misleading. The first bungalow we were given was dank and dirty - the light didn't work and the shower was covered in mildew, cold and smelt like sewage, the toilet brown with filth and unflushable. There were very large gaps in the wooden floors through which you could see the 'jungle' floor, resulting in huge insect infestations. We requested to move to another cabin and the host didn't say a single word but reluctantly obliged by giving us a key to the cabin next door. The place must've been 1/10th occupied at best so we didn't feel this was an outrageous request on our part (particularly given the state of the first cabin) but he made us feel completely unwelcome by how he dealt with us. The second cabin was marginally better but still unsanitary. The basicness of the cabin was not a problem, and the experience would have been much more enjoyable should the staff have made us feel more welcome. The host was rude from the start and only worsened throughout our stay despite us trying to make the most of the situation, so we won't be returning or recommending. This type of experience shouldn't put all types of traveller off but please do be prepared! Also no point booking through airbnb as it was double the price - you're much better off having a look round when you get there and decide for yourself if you are up for staying here.

• This place is fantastic!!! Do your research about getting to and from location!! It was a peaceful and amazing stay. Super good vibes!!! The love that went into buimding this place is evident in all of the small things like the mural paintings on bathroom wall and otger lottle touches. The mosqjito nets they provide are inpenetrable and already totally set up for you!! There is also an amazing Thai restaurant next to the juice stop about 5 mins away. Walking to Railay was a breeze!!! I really loved my.time here:) thank you so much!!!

Angela2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
• A great place to enjoy the magic of Tonsai beach. Right in the middle of the island and a short walk to Railay if you choose. Close to the night life but the bungalows were far enough away from the bar that you couldn't hear the music if you were heading to bed early. The bungalows were quite hot in the evening without any AC and a barely functional fan, but if you have a couple drinks you won't mind ;)

Britney2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
• Chillout Bungalow is the perfect place for a budget trip to Tonsai - a great location for rock climbing and close to amazing neighboring beaches. It’s certainly not the ideal location for everyone. It has a “campy” feel to it and is by no means luxurious. But if you’re okay with the bare essentials and roughing it a bit, the friendly staff will ensure you have a pleasant stay!

Matthew2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
• Awesome place and even better staff! The guys working behind the bar took such good care of us and even provided me aid when I twisted my ankle after falling from heat exhaustion! (Totally my fault, I didn't drink enough water that day!) The atmosphere and vibe is great. It is a bit like camping with no electricity during the day but nothing the adventurous type couldn't handle. I would most definitely recommend this place to all my friends traveling and in fact already have!

Please read and consider again. AoLuek Paradise has simple bamboo wood and Sliver cottages. All the basic facilities necessary for living are provided. We aim for all guests to learn to live in harmony with nature. We look forward to creating relationships with our guests from all over the world. Learning from them and sharing our culture food music smiles and laughing as well. please know that you are the new member of our family. Aoluek Paradise is a unique experience, like no other. It is not your typical tourist hotel, it is truly an adventurous experience. Aoleuk Paradise is attractive to those with an adventurous spirit, and an interest in a rustic yet authentically Thai lifestyle experience. And it is right in the middle of Aoluek village. Aoluek paradise is the perfect place for long-time travellers who seek cultural exchanges with other spiritual and culturally minded people. Life travellers who have an interest in art and music, those who are environmentally conscious and enjoy communing with nature find themselves at home in Aoluek Paradise. Over the last few years we have enjoyed the company of so many life travellers from all points of the globe. We are truly thankful for everyone's participation in our Paradise and we have learnt many lessons along the way. So it is fair that we share with you some of the feedback from our guests. The good and the not so good. We are the first to acknowledge that Aoluek Paradise is NOT for everyone, so please consider the following before making a booking; we understand if your journey does not include us. Our guests have given us a thumbs up for; - Our service is more like being part of the family. There are no waiters and service attendants. - We do tours off into the wild and often unexplored areas with nature and curiosity as our guide. No comforts here. - We can cater to your special food needs, either from our kitchen or from many of the local restaurants. - We offer a free shuttle service from the local Aoluek bus stop. And can assist with your onward travel arrangements. - Nature is all around you, in all it's wonderful creepy crawly beauty right on your door step sometimes inside your room too. The rooms are always clean and I think some of the bugs like that too. Did you know that a spider can make a new web in under 1 hour? But no worries its no dangerrous spider in thailand. - Every night is a music experience. It's a party! It is a commune of local musicians and our musically talented guests and our staff and everyone is encouraged to join the experience. Play, Sing, Drum, Clap and Stomp your way to a new level. Sometimes to very late into the night. - Our Paradise has also become shelter for some of our less fortunate 4-legged friends. We have a few kittens, which are super cute and cuddly. You can also meet our friendly Hoki dog, when we are in the garden with her. All the furry friends have been vaccinated and do behave themselves most of the time. - Aoluek Paradise is an authentically Thai lifestyle experience with all it's cultural habits and percularities, surrounded in a beautiful natural environment. And of course some of our guests have given us a thumbs down for; - There are no waiters or service attendants. The service is more like being in a family. There are no 24 hour attendants. - The tours were into wild and unexplored areas, no comforts only a small snack and a water bottle. - The free shuttle service is only from the bus stop in Aoluek and I had to wait for them to pick me up. - Aoluek Paradise is definitely a part of local nature, the room was clean but there was sometime a bug somewhere. I don't like mosquitos and even spiders are no dangerrous but still creepy. Too much nature for me. - There are cats and dogs living on the property and visiting Aoluek Paradises daily. Don´t book Aoluek Paradises, if you have an allergy or if you don't want to be close to the animals. - Every night, there is music and singing and games with lots of local people. Most nights are noisy until midnight. We at Aoluek Paradise are proud of what we have achieved but we do fully understand that we cannot be everything to everyone. But we do work hard at Aoluek Paradise to make it the nature friendly environment that it is. You are welcome to come and experience an adventure in Paradise if you dare. If not we are ok to refund your money back 100%. So if you still confirm to come. From Krabi airport you have 3 choices to come here. 1. A taxi will cost about (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ht. • It's a nice place if you want to stay close to nature, away from city life. Experience in here will last for some time, nice to have. Like the water body flowing from the nearby mountains, dense Palm plantation and lush canopy, fresh air, calmness, wind sound, pets - lots of friendly cats, dogs, bamboo huts and it's smell.. all bring a lasting experience. Come prepared with mosquito repellents, and some snacks. Need to plan well about your own transportation once you arrive here, you'll get help from host for short trips to near by town/village. The closest city is Krabi, a 60 minute drive from Ao Luek. Use your sign language to communicate with locals, they are very friendly, it's fun. Zac's local trip to river kayaking through mangrove trees, caves is one of good experience. Thanks Zac.

• Really chill place to relax for a few days. Kowit and his crew are super friendly and helpful. Great place to enjoy life as a local.

Jill2018-10-24T00:00:00Z
• Kowit's Bungalows are simply the best. I strongly recommend you to visit here, this is absolutely a welcome respites from the party, exciting nights in Thai. I stayed here only for 3 nights and I wish I could stay longer. You can be surrounded by nature. Of course, living in nature doesn't mean the fancy-luxury hotel night, but simply, you can be simple. And could feel the best breeze of the city and smile of local people. It was bit hard for me for the first time because of the hot weather tho, but, I could be used to it. Also, there is a nice guide name "JACK", he will help you to find a hidden caves, restaurant nearby and many tour excursions.... Besides, apart from the silent and peaceful nature and neighborhood, you can join the small local music party every night and hang out with other bungalow's friends. :) Even if it was under construction, I really enjoyed the trip! :) See you next time, thanks.

• We loved our stay here!! The place was absolutely beautiful, and our host Adda was wonderful and very helpful. She rented us a scooter for a good price and arranged transport to Krabi when we left. It unfortunately rained during most of our stay, but the bungalow stayed nice and dry. It is definitely out in nature as described, so the scooter was necessary to get around. You will also hear many nature sounds at night, including what sounded like giant frogs! All in all this was a fantastic deal, highly recommended for those who like rustic, no frills accommodation in a beautiful setting.

• I had my own bungalow, with private bath, in the middle of the jungle. It was the rustic experience I was looking for. Great value. The host family that runs it are exceptionally kind people, very accommodating and helpful. It’s a bit far from town but they have motorbikes you can rent. They also serve very good, fair priced meals. Anything you could need, just ask and they will do their best to make it happen!

• Dawn of Happiness was a beautiful place to stay with very nice staff. We had a great time. The water pressure in the shower is very low and doesn't get hot so it helps to shower during the day when it is hot outside. There are many bugs but you are staying in the forest on the beach.

Katie2017-03-21T00:00:00Z

• Stay was o.k. - as described! Pro: free breakfast, Dinner 120 Baht was every time delicious, Hosts are very nice and book you every tour for you Contra: dirty sheets, whole resort has some years Behinderung, can't co swimming in the sea (cause of ebb and flow) All in all resort is very lovely, can't expect a hotel.

• Dawn of Happiness was the highlight of our Thailand adventure. We stayed here for 5 days in hut 5, and absolutely loved the place. Friendly animals to interact with. Amazing food homemade every night - worth every penny. The beaches were beautiful and the water clear to swim in. Krabi and Ao Nang are very accessible. Atipong was a great host! Only would say that the linens had a bit of a damp smell to them, but otherwise no complaints! We are already planning on when we can return to this slice of paradise

Marilise2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
• This place was so relaxed and off the beaten path. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights over Christmas and could not have asked for more chill vibes. Extremely quiet, clean beach, rustic bamboo huts, and very friendly service. If you want to getaway from it all, I highly recommend this place. Not far from Ao Nam Mao pier (10min walk or 2min scoot) where you can hop on a longtail boat for 100 baht to Railay beach and more. Since it's kind of out of the way from popular spots, they offer to make dinner every night with the guests, home cooked by the owner, and they looked delicious. Only like 120 baht per person. (Wayyy cheaper than some shmoozy restaurant farther away.) We didn't end up having the dinner there, but I wish we would have. Chill posi-vibes

• This place was not as it was described, or rather details were missing from the listing. PROS: Very secluded island, relaxing for people who want to get away from the touristy areas, nice beach when it was there, the host was great and friendly and quick to respond, good nature watching, theres toucans that come in the morning and lots of cats and hermit crabs! CONS: -it was a 1.5-2 hour commute by taxi from the airport, the listing here says 40 mins. -there is nothing to do after 5 pm here, the island is secluded and the ocean tide has receded -we did not get the beach front as described because the water receded and was only there from 11 am to 5pm, but that is the same time you are trying to catch the ferry into town, so we did not even get to swim in front of our bungalow the entire time. I know you can’t really control this, but if you come expecting ocean in front of your place, forget about it. -the amenities are more outdated, doors had trouble closing, soap dispenser kept breaking, the Wi-Fi did not reach our cabin, cold showers. -strict ferry times for transport and they never ran on time

• An exotic island resort with some real jungle behind it. This is a rural escapade, so expect a bit of dirt. Peaceful, getting on the island is rather fun, and the local cats are sweet. On the other hand , they have pinworms. Consider yourself warned. If you are a cat lover, this is your chance to be a hero.

Our homestay is located in Sukhothai City, near bus station to go to Sukhothai Historical park. Just cross the street you can find market which open day & night.

• Very convenient. Nearby some 7-11 and restraunts, good taste. Only 5km to historical park. I like this little house. Nattinee's sister has given a lot of suggestion to me. Thanks!

• Nattinee was very generous with her time and a very good communicator. Her effort to show us a positive experience in Thailand will not be forgotten. Strongly suggest staying with Nattinee!

• I loved loved loved staying in the cute hut. Great service, super friendly, and great about giving information on what to do and how to find the place. Air conditioning works great. Near the Saturday night market and close to all amenities in new Sukhothai. It can be loud in the morning around 7 or 8am. I am up early anyways so I didn't mind. It is a definite place to stay when you travel to Sukhothai.

• I had a very nice stay at Nattinee's place. The room and bathroom were clean. The room was perfect conditioned with a very confortable bed, aircon and a fridge. It also has a TV,however I didn't use it. Nattinee is very friendly and always willing to help and give you some advise.

• I had a very nice stay at KTT Homestay. I can HIGHLY recommend stay here!!! As many previous guests have pointed out, there is much warmth and care provided at KTT. I did not expect to be accepted into a Thai family so warmly. It was one of the highlights to my trip to Sukhothai. The location is a 1 to 2 minute walk from the main road in the Sukhothai new city. It is in a perfect location for catching a bus to the Sukhothai Historical Park or taking a private car to the historical parks at Sri Satchanalai and Kamphaeng Phet. The homestay is managed by Nattinee's younger sister named Pang. She does a fantastic job to make one feel welcome. She will cook many great tasting Thai style dishes for breakfast and dinner and she will go out of her way to make sure your stay is a nice one. I stayed in one of the bungalows. The bed, linens and duvet cover were much nicer than I expected. It is immediately obvious that the host wants the guest to have a nice sleep. The bungalow itself was perfect! It was clean, it had fast wifi, it came with a refrigerator stocked with water and it is equipped with a small desk. I could not ask for more. The bungalow was simple but was perfect for my stay. Very good value for the money. Communication with Nattinee was very good. I am glad I chose the KTT Homestay and would easily stay again when I come to Sukhothai.

• We didn’t interact with Natinee in personal but her sister helped us with everything. It was nice that we could rent a scooter easily at the airbnb. Location was great. We could reach the old town in 20 minutes by scooter and the ramkhamhaeng national park in approx. 40 min. Good restaurants were close by so you could walk. Unfortunately our mosquito net was too small for the bed and we got some bug bites. Nevertheless we would recommend staying in Nattinees apartment:)

• Our stay at Nattinee's place was great! The location is amazing, you're just a short bus ride to the old city and a 2 minute walk to the new one. The bus station for Chiang Mai and Bangkok is also a 10 minute away with a tuk tuk. Nattinee's was great at providing us with clear directions as soon as we made the booking and also informed us that her sister Pang would be there to look after us. She offered us some of her pork and veggie soup which was delicious!! Perfect choice for any kind of traveller. Also hurry there now if you can because they have 4 adorable kittens :) :)
