“Wonderful airy and open space with a vintage industrial vibe and stunning food. Hard to get a table here on Saturday mornings and there is usually a queue , but so worth the wait. Good selection of counter food as well as menu items, which will be beautifully presented at your table with garnish and relishes. Probably the best selection of current magazines and newspapers to read while you enjoy your perfect Flat White ”

Place to eat
“Always busy, this bistro and diner with bar is located in one of the oldest 19th Century hotels in Thames. There is a traditional wooden interior featuring vintage photos of the building and street outside, also art from local school students. Karl, the owner, is very friendly and passionate about what he does. There is a fairly large menu, and a Happy Hour every Friday evening between 5-6pm with half price drinks and complimentary snacks.”

Point of Interest
“GBD is one of the popular places in town t meet for a casual drink, lunch, after work drinks, dining. It is a bar/restaurant in a 150 yr old original Thames hotel building at the North end of Pollen Street. Proprietor Karl and his staff will be sure to provide you with service, good food and drinks. Tuesday night is quiz night - anyone can join in at a table. Once monthly they have a wine tasting session. Wooden tables chairs and floor mean that it can sometimes be a little noisy but that's part of the atmosphere and fun. Bookings recommended. Check out the menu on-line.”

Restaurant
“Gastronomics is a well established dinner and lunch restaurant and relocated with a new decor at the south end of Pollen Street. (Take no notice of the poor and dated Trip Advisor and Zomato reviews from several years ago!!) The Chef owner Kishan is a very accomplished and highly awarded chef who delivers very tasty and well presented food. Desserts are artworks on a plate! Very good for all occasions. Beverley & Tony”
