“ If you haven't read chef and owner Kwame Onwuachi's memoir "Notes From a Young Black Chef," the artful Afro-Caribbean dishes at two-year-old Kith/Kin will walk you through his life story. The much-lauded chef, who just claimed the James Beard Foundation 2019 Rising Star Chef title, cites influences that span from Nigeria to Trinidad to the Bronx. Here, that translates to succulent braised oxtail, buttery plates of shrimp and rice, tamarind-accented Jamaican jerk chicken, and monkfish with West African staples like fufu and melon seeds. Even waffle fries get a sprinkling of Ethiopian berbere salt. ”

“There is a gourmet market inside Officina called Mercato. Pre-made pasta, deli meat, breads and fine Italian wines etc. Think Dean & DeLuca. ”

“Last summer, I probably ate Dolcezza four times a week, and I have absolutely zero regrets. Many of their flavors change seasonally, so you'll always have a fresh new gelato to try.”

“If you have seen Chef's Table: Episode 1, you may have seen chef and mastermind Christina Tosi. Head over to Milk Bar at the Wharf (also located in Logan Circle), for some of Christina's drool worthy icecream and desserts. Our favorites cereal milk icecream and her famous compost cookie. But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything you pick!”
