“THE place to get a panoramic view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, but if and only if there are no towering cruise ships blocking the view. You don’t have to patronise the cafe to enjoy the view. The food here is okay and reasonably priced. ”

“Scones and tea like nanna used to make. Tucked in a heritage-listed building in Sydney’s historical Rocks area is our hidden gem; The Tea Cosy. We serve delicious scones - baked fresh on premises all day. Relax with a cup of aromatic tea, and tame your appetite with something heartier.”

“Housed on the ground floor of the former Cadbury Chocolate factory, the space is divided in two; the cafe and a bar and function space. Two takeaway-windows open onto Gloucester Street and offer white, black, filter, cold drip and magic styles (a Melbourne-style double ristretto topped with milk in a small, 150-mililitre cup).”

“Newest food hall in the area. Actually really great variety of food on offer - everything from Egyptian, Vietnamese, Sushi, Thai, a Creperie, & even Zumbo's macaroons (not my thing, but hey. they look great). ”

“Located on Hickson Bay wharf just down from Millers Point, this cafe looks out onto Sydney Harbour. The owner is an Italian cycle enthusiast and so it is a hot spot for cyclists doing a city route so be prepared for some jovial conversations and a lot of bicycle shorts! Great location and great breakfast food and coffee. All their egg dishes are on the money! ”

“A secret getaway - at the end of a touristy arcade - spilling out into Kendall and Mill Laneways in the historic Rocks. The Fine Food Store is a magnet for food lovers visiting the area. It’s a go-to spot for salad-heavy lunches and many tasty little gourmet treats. Think hot sauces, chutneys, chocolates, teas and sweets; pick up tea craft teas. All day breakfast is a real winner - lots of healthy menu options.”

“Dutch Smuggler is hidden in an architectural feature down some stairs and behind an office block. It small-batch roasts his own A-grade beans with Sovereign Coffee Roasters, and mixes things up with cold-brew-coffee mocktails such as the C&T with tonic, and the Roots in Coffee with ginger beer and lemon.”
