  • Communication was great between host and our group. She was sure to provide us with anything we asked for, which is appreciated. We had a wonderful time on the private island.

    Scott2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • She was very informative and responded very quick. The area around was very quiet and nice, they have little beach like area where you could bring your own chair and relax. It was overall good experience

  • My friends and I had a great time on the island. While it definitely was some extra work rowing the boat back and forth to get the supplies over, it was well worth it. Such a unique and fun experience!

    Olivia2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I loved the island and cabin! It really is beautiful. There were a few cans and bottles around but over all it is a gorgeous place to just relax. Dot gave very clear directions on how to get to the island and unlock the cabin, which was well furnished with flashlights, other lights, and blankets.

  • Dorothy's private island is incredible. It's exactly what it's described here, no water no electricity but we had a lot of fun paddling the boat. There's camp fire. It's also very nice to have the whole little island to us.

    Sisi2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Dorothy's cabin. Perfect for a one night stay and has a beautiful view! However, it seemed as though the house hadn't been cleaned in a while and was quite dirty and the lawn furniture was scattered and broken. Make sure you bring lots of flashlights!!

    Chaffee2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This little island is really awesome! The fact that you are the only house on this island is incredible. From the boat ride over to the overall feel of the outdoors, really wonderful time. Adults and kids in our group loved the island experience. This lake is really family friendly and a gem. Minimal bugs but watch out for the beetles by the campfire at night. :) Keep in mind, the house is really rustic! Someone in our group slept outside and said it was wonderful. Would definitely recommend this unique experience.

  • Listing was accurate. Parking across the street from lot with enough room for 5 cars. After rowing very short distance, Island was what we anticipated. Some of it was run down, but it was perfect for what we were looking for. The inside of the house is mainly 3 bedrooms and a kitchen. There is a woodturning stove but we opted to use the gas grill instead. There are multiple outdoor grills around the island but the largest gas grill did not seem to be working. Outside there are many beach chairs, long sitting tables and picnic tables. The outhouse was not an issue at all. Must flush with buckets of water from island but worked well for our large group.

Welcome to Putnam, Connecticut! Putnam has been named multiple times as One of the Best Kept Secret's of New England. Putnam combines the experience of taking a step back in time, beauty, peace and the comforts of everyday living. Once a prosperous Mill Town known for manufacturing this "quaint New England town" is nestled on the banks of the Quinebaug River. The town was named in honor of local Revolutionary War hero General Israel Putnam, voted "one of the best 15 towns to visit in New England" by Boston Magazine and a recipient of the Traveller's Choice Award by Trip Advisor. Here is a recent article: onlyinyourstate.com/connecticut/putnam-ct Due to its proximity to the Quinebaug River, Putnam was on the cutting edge of industry; one of the first cotton mills was built here in 1806. With the advent of the railroad in 1840, textiles flourished and Putnam became a major industrial force, including providing clothing and other goods to Civil War troops. In August of 1955, Putnam was devastated when two hurricanes - Connie & Diane - hit the region within a week of each other. The Quinebaug River overflowed, wiping out homes, businesses, mills, and the railroad beds. Putnam became crowned the 'Antiques Capital of the East' in recent years and hosts a multitude of Antique Shops and boutiques. In recent years, the town has been re-inventing itself once again with an 'Arts & Al Fresco' motif. The downtown is now home to an exciting assortment of restaurants, bars, cafes, art galleries, boutiques, theaters, and more. There are wooded walks, places to go bouldering, 4 golf courses, both public and private (Harrisville, Woodstock, Thompson, and East Thompson), frisbee golf, some of the best antiquing New England has to offer, fishing (both lake and stream), swimming (lake), wine tasting, award-winning dining, dancing and live music, and so much more all within 5 minutes drive. • We stayed here for 4 night. The house was very clean and tidy, and have everything we needed. Michelle and Dan were very helpful with questions we had.

    Simon2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Dan & Michelle for hosting us at your clean and quiet home. Loved having Dan show up as we arrived, even though it was after 9pm, to give us a tour of the house, gave us some local tips and upcoming events. We shared with Dan that we wanted to go to Boston and a handwritten, beautifully detailed letter with instructions for travel and what to see and eat was on our car windshield the next morn! Very very thoughtful and added to our awesome stay! Thank you!

    Perla2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Dan took care of us as guests, providing everything we needed for a great stay. The cottage is private and has an expansive backyard right on the river. Perfect destination to get away and relax for a few days.

    Joseph2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Dan were top-notch hosts. The cottage itself is cozy, well-furnished, clean, and comfortable, and quiet, and Dan & Michelle were both there upon our arrival to make sure we had everything we needed. They even brought over some toys for our toddler to play with during our stay (he loved the pirate ship!) and suggested blueberry picking at a nearby farm, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. They gave us our space during our stay, but were always reachable by phone when we had questions. And both the town and nearby areas (including the parks and hiking trails) are scenic and lovely. We'll definitely return.

    Matt2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, quiet setting.

    sean 2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Michelle & Dans house. The house is a charming 2 bedroom house. It was perfect for myself and 2 adult sons while in town for a family wedding. Tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home. Lovely view of the autumn foliage in back. House is at the end of a quiet street. We definitely felt at home. Dan greeted us with a warm welcome despite our late arrival. He showed us around the house and gave us some tips on restaurants in the area. I'd highly recommend this place. They do not have wifi which was ok since we were in town for a family wedding and didn't need it.

My place is close to Worcester love my place because of the Lake, the sunsets, the backyard to play badminton or croquet, the kayaking, the canoeing, the paddle boating, SWIMMING, having a camp fire or going to the city! Your cabin OF 650sq. ft. Is next to my home and steps to our beach. WiFii, one tv with ROKU.
The yard is enclosed by trees. You will share outside areas with myself, my small dog and friends that visit us. The sunsets are always something to see across the lake.
Our road is a dirt road. It is quiet and rustic.
  • The cabin was wonderful- peaceful and relaxing. We were visiting for the Brimfield Flea Market and the charming, fun furnishings were perfect to put us in the mood for treasure hunting. The space was comfortable and had all necessary amenities and conveniences available. The lake was beautiful as well! Plan to return if life allows it!

  • This little vintage retreat is just the type of place that makes you relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Webster. We loved that it was a simple rustic cottage but had everything to make our family of six comfortable. The fresh cut flowers throughout were such a lovely touch and the beds were very comfortable. We Kayaked out to the marshes each morning. What a peaceful location!

    Lisa2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful, very quite. Karin is absolutely amazing and makes sure you feel at home. 10/10 will stay again.

  • Catherine's place was a perfect fit for our needs. The room was large and very comfortable. The king size bed was wonderful! She had everything one would use short term, refrigerator, micro, dishes, AC, walk in shower and all the toiletries needed for one's stay. Very reasonable price. We are coming back to the Webster area next year and plan on staying with Catherine again. Thanks, Carol Z.

  • I highly recommend this Air bnb. The host is very accommodating and friendly. It feels like you have your own hotel room and is actually better than some hotels I've stayed at. The bed is huge, comfortable, and has any kind of pillow you want. The carpet is soft and welcoming, towels the softest you'll ever feel, and the room has anything you could need: soap, shampoo, silverware, microwave, cups, plates, menus for local delivery, ceiling fan, etc; the list goes on.

    Steve2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • The room was lovely and exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, convenient, and in a great location. The bed is very comfortable, with plenty of pillows and soft sheets. The bathroom is spotless with very soft towels. It is better than many hotel rooms that cost twice as much.

    Trenley2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and excellent stay with nearby restaurants and scenic places around the house. Couldn't get chance to interact with Catherine but its worth a stay. Looks like a renovated house but it has everything you need. Bit sensitive with few things inside but its ok.

Grace Note Farm is close to family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the ambiance, the location, the views, and the people. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Overnight and breakfast means lunch and dinner are off the farm as food is not permitted in the rooms. Home cooked meals are available by special arrangement.
There are many colonial antiques and reproductions that give the visual experience of farm life in that time. The pace is slower, farm life and nature is all around. Conversation is enjoyed by all. Small children have many first experiences to help them grow and understand how to approach and enjoy animals. There are many educational activities for ages 3-8+.
  • Virginia has a beautiful property - the farm, land, house, antiques, and especially the animals (dog, kittens, donkey, pony, horses, chickens, and a bunny) made for an incredibly relaxing and refreshing environment. Each part of the property has a story with rich history dating back to colonial times. If we were to stay again, I would come for the farm experience. However, this property is not a great fit for larger groups that may want to hang out or have alcohol after dinner. There are a number of reasonable but specific rules due to the constraints and requirements of running and living on a farm - pay close attention to the listing: no outside food is allowed due to the animals, 5 minute showers because Virginia has her own water supply, and quiet time at 10pm is strictly enforced. This is a unique AirBNB property. Unlike some AirBNB's where it's just a place to crash/hang-out, this is a truly different experience. The feel is like living on the farm with Virginia - Come for the farm, the animals, and a quiet colonial New England experience.

    Nick2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Grace Note Farm is an absolute beauty, and it is clear from the moment you enter that Virginia has poured her heart and soul in to making and maintaining a stunning, historically sensitive, yet comfortable and modern farmhouse. My dog and I enjoyed the extensive trails out back, interactions with the many great animals on the property, and of course Virginia's wonderful cooking. Just 30 min away from Providence, Grace Note is perfect for a quiet, retreat-like experience that is above and beyond your average B&B.

    Brynn2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, historic property with comfortable accommodations. If you love animals, the quiet life, and are an 'early to bed, early to rise' person this is the place for you. Virginia is very knowledgeable about the history of the property and it was very interesting to learn about it. We didn't have time to explore but I'm confident it would have been a very interesting and pleasant experience. Breakfast was good and plentiful. We stayed here for a local family wedding and while Virginia allowed the groom and groomsmen to get dressed on site as a favor I would have preferred paying more for a better space. I did pay for an extra person to have an extra room which gave us to separate bedrooms and a separate living space, all connected. It would have been wonderful if the wedding party were allowed to use this space for the 45 minutes it was needed as we were paying for it and we were only using it for under an hour. We were the only guests that night. Be sure to ask about what room you are getting and if others will be sharing space, other than common areas. Price is person, not room and shower time has a 5 minute time limit. I've stayed at several B&B's in my life and my experience here wasn't my favorite, especially for our needs (getting ready before the wedding, sleeping after the wedding and leaving right after breakfast, no showers). We checked in at the time listed in the details (3 pm) but were asked to leave by 10 am because other guests were arriving at Noon (stated check out time was 11 am). We were also asked to strip the bed, something I have never done at other B&Bs. Not a big deal but unexpected.

    Diane2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Gracenote farm. The accommodations are super cozy and the food is delicious, the atmosphere extremely chill. The stables are close to the main house so you really feel a part of the farm. Virginia is a lovely host and wealth of information on the area. There are fantastic trail runs and safe bike trails for teens and adults and kids have ball with the animals on the farm. Abigail the dog and the kittens are irresistible - our puppy did not want to leave. Virginia was ultra flexible with our dog, our kids and us. We will definitely be back. We should also add that her home is beautifully curated and restored. Thank you!

  • I booked this place for my parents´ visit from Germany. I was looking for something quiet and memorable and found more than I could have ever asked for. Grace Note Farm is a stunningly beautiful oasis of peaceful quiet and historic charm. The 287-year-old property does not only resemble an authentic image of its history, it also offers a warm and welcoming place to travelers from all over the world. My parents were absolutely enchanted by the charm of this well-kept and loved property. Virginia’s elegant taste in décor and interior design makes her house a feast for the eyes. When she gave us a tour of the house and property, it became even more apparent how much time, dedication, and love she invests to decorate and design everything authentically to offer an atmosphere which lets you travel back in time while still offering modern amenities and comforts. Virginia was an excellent hostess to my parents. Every morning, when I picked them up after breakfast they were gushing about the home-made food and my father really appreciated that he was offered coffee even well before breakfast time. On a more personal note, I experienced Virginia as a very warm and welcoming person, who deeply cares about her home and the guests she invites into it. She always made time to talk with me about her home and her life at the farm, even when it was obvious how much work she had ahead of her, she would always have a friendly word before she went about her day. Being aware of the difficulty that saying goodbye to family can pose, she even invited me to breakfast on the day of my parents’ departure. I am truly pleased by what I found when I booked this vacation for my parents and can confidently recommend this place to everyone who has an appreciation for a historic, welcoming, and peaceful accommodation.

  • Great stay, beautiful location

    Maura2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful rural environment. Had a tour and wonderful chat with Virginia about our mutual sewing interest. Having read the other reviews and having stayed at other historic and rustic places, I would advise that if you are more comfortable in a place with staff to cater to your every need immediately, or just like a more modern place with an ensuite bath this may not be the place for you. This is a historic home that is also a working farm. While guests are valued the needs of the horses may temporarily come first. Adjust!!

There are many restaurants and stores just a short drive away. Popular attractions nearby are Roseland Cottage, Old Sturbridge Village, Taylor Brook Winery, Bradley Playhouse, Thompson Motorsports Park, golf and hiking. This is our home. Our kids moved away and we now we have extra space to offer travelers in an area with limited hotel availability. Our space is best suited for short stays of 5 nights or less.
Neighborhood of single family homes on large lots. Side street with a fair amount of traffic during the day, but quiet at night. Just a short drive to dozens of restaurants along with grocery, Wal-Mart, pharmacy, gas, and banking. Woodstock is a rural agricultural town with dairy farms, orchard, vineyard, lakes, and forests.

  • Susan rules! Bring her flowers and showers of thank you gifts because that’s how awesome she was during our stay. The reviews don’t lie. Also, they have taken great measures to remove the cigarette smoke that lingers around. There are multiple air purifiers. I was in town for a bike race and hate cigarette smoke. She goes above and beyond expectations! 10/10 can’t wait to stay again!

  • Driving up to this house it seemed so small, but once inside you realize that is truly not the case! The house was so spacious and very nicely decorated! Tons of seating for eating! Was rainy while we were there and we still had a wonderful time! Will likely be going back next year for a whole week!! Loved it and you will too!

    Melissa2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a great week!

    Terie2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, clean and comfortable. Lake is beautiful. Cottage had everything we needed. Perfect spot for a relaxing vacation.

    Monique2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house has the most beautiful view of the sunset every night, and a nice outside area to relax by the lake. Inside is very cute and perfectly clean. The house is on a very secluded and private street, but the grocery store/town center is just a few minutes away.

    Curtis2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Lake house for 3 weeks was wonderful! We began to feel as if the house were our own. It was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The back yard was great with table, plenty of chairs, and some shade when needed to bring out the board games. The pier was perfect for fishing from and the floating dock was great to swim out to and relax. The water was very clean and clear. The only issue we had was a shower that wasn't running very hot; called our host, Mark, and he was there the following day to check it out and said the plumber will be there the next day. The shower runs hot now! So, for a family of 7 adults and one 11 month old, this house suited our needs. Kitchen and grill were adequate that we didn't go out to eat until the very last night. I would definitely recommend this house for a lake vacation.

  • We had a lovely stay here and enjoyed the opportunity to go kayaking and even a spot of chilly October swimming! Wonderful views and a great location. The house was clean, warm and comfortable and also very peaceful. The interior feels a bit dated but that was part of the charm really.

    Michael2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful and as shown in the pictures listed. Easy to get into and the lake was beautiful. Would recommend this place to anyone it was great!

  • We had an amazing time at Severin's lovely lakeside home. The house was very clean, and everything he described in his listing is accurate. The location on the lake is absolutely perfect. We stayed on a very hot weekend, and the breeze off the lake made the area so much cooler. It was really perfect. Severin's place has the feeling of being secluded in nature, making it a great setting for a getaway, however, there are also amenities like grocery stores and restaurants only minutes away. Great place to stay, would recommend to anyone. The entire experience working with Severin was seamless.

    Elizabeth2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place!

    Joshua2013-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely discovery, what a great weekend! The pictures probably don't do this place justice, it is an ideal and gorgeous setting and perfect vacation home with everything we could want! It is easy to get to, stores aren't far if you need something, the house is super cozy, there are water toys and a little canoe for the lake, bbq, and lovely outdoor furniture to relax on. Hope we can come back again!

    Brita2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house is incredibly cozy and comfortable! Our party of 5 stayed for 2 nights and wished we could stay for much much longer. The drive from Providence was incredibly easy and peaceful. The lake was a spectacular sight, especially at dusk when the sun is setting. Would definitely recommend staying at this house! Severin was very responsive, answering all of my questions clearly and timely. I will definitely plan on staying here again in the future!

  • New and Clean place. Very comfortable. All necessities provided, including wireless internet. Great host. Very helpful and cordial. Beautiful yard next to lake. Would definitely rent again.

    Linh2012-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • A great lake cottage feel. Convenient to groceries and major artery for travel north and south. This is a very pretty part of the world. Setting of cottage is quiet with lovely view of lake. Lake is busy on the weekend with a lot of boats, but it doesn't affect the experience at the property. During the week you feel like you have the lake pretty much to yourself. Kitchen is well equipped for an Airbnb

My place is close to Woodstock Academy and Woodstock fair. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the kitchen, and views. You'll enjoy your 100% privacy. My place is good for couples and families (with kids). The entire second floor with 3 bedrooms and a private full bath for rent. Each additional guest can have her/his own bedroom.
My family live on the main level of this house. The second floor has 3 bedrooms available for rent - one with 2 twin beds which can be used as a king bed, one with a queen bed, and the 3rd one with a full-sized bed. This floor also includes a full bathroom with two sinks and a bathtub.
  • Was as expected. The bedroom my husband and I stayed in smelled strongly but we got used to it. Overall a fine stay. Jane was a very attentive host.

    Carolin2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Jane were very friendly and hospitable. They served me tea upon arrival. The location is very convenient to both Woodstock and Putnam. The bedroom was comfortable but there is no private entrance. You are basically staying on the second floor of the house which is not "separate " from the rest of the house.

This light and bright sunny home is nestled in the pines on a quiet dead end road. It's the perfect spot to relax and unwind, go swimming, kayaking, fishing or just sit on the dock and relax. There is an outdoor shady patio area over-looking the lake with tables/chairs, a gas grill for BBQs and a gas firepit to make s'mores. Open Kitchen/dining/living room with lots of room to spread out and there is usually a nice breeze flowing through the house.
The house sits up high and faces west so you get amazing sunset views. There are about 25 steps leading down to the waterfront dock area. There is a sitting area at the waterfront with 6 chairs. The waterfront has a mostly sandy bottom with a very gradual drop off. May through October there is a 15 foot dock on the property to fish off of or to relax on and your welcome to use our two person sit -on-top kayak or 4 person paddle boat. There is a large driveway that can fit up to 4 cars.
Quiet, dead end road filled with a mix of permanent and summer homes. Good for a leisurely walk or bike ride. Great location if your going to a concert at Indian Ranch- you can walk to it and avoid the parking/crowds. Just a few minutes to Douglas State forest for great nature trails. Webster lake has a marina on it that rents boats, jetskis and paddle boards in the summer months.
  • Beautiful house, great location, amazing views. The perfect time away; I wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was just right--great communication from host; immaculate and well-decorated house; all the details we needed about expectations; convenient to everything. Highly recommended.

  • Enjoyed the lake house. It was the perfect location for our Cousin's Gathering of 6 adults. The house was nestled in the pines in a quiet residential area - located close to groceries, restaurants, gas stations, attractions and major highways. The house was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Loved the décor and openness of the first floor. We enjoyed our stay.

Welcome to the Sunset Hill Inn! The Lincoln room is one of a small group of available rentals in this lovely historic Tavern and Inn. The room is bright and spacious with beautiful views of the town commons and historic homes. This room has long been a favorite of visitors to the area and has only recently been renovated to accommodate visitors again. An orchard, library, and small family cafe and ice cream stand are all just a short stroll away.
This room has long been a favorite with the friends and family and now for the first time in years it is available for nightly guests. One of the largest rooms available at the inn, it is capable of facilitating a cot or air mattress upon request. With second story views of the town commons and its great trees, it is a gem of a room in a gem of a town!
This neighborhood is a peach! Sitting atop the town commons the inn is the perfect place to enjoy this terrific inn and charming town. A short walk to the local stand and orchard as well as historical sites and the Woodstock Academy. This is a great location for visits to the wealth of fine schools in the area, such as, Pomfret Academy, Marianapolis, Rectory School, and WA.
  • Our stay at Sunset Hill was absolutely wonderful! The rooms were perfectly charming, roomy, and clean with wonderful views of the park and the lovely fall foliage. The entire inn is so authentic--it was exactly what we were looking for! As my ancestors were originally from the area, I was so excited to have found a country inn with so much 17th and 18th century period detail lovingly cared for. Jacob was a wonderful host, communicating in a timely manner, meeting us at the door and sharing stories and information about the area. His tips on dining out and local music led to a fantastic night out, which only added to the whole experience! Jacob is a warm host who is knowledgeable about the area and committed to its historic preservation. This was a truly an amazing find right in the center of the beautiful historic town of Woodstock! I only wish we could have stayed longer but I will definitely return and will definitely stay again at Sunset Hill!

  • Michael is a very gracious and welcoming host. He treated us like family. He went above and beyond to prepare for our stay (he even bought animal crackers for our toddler, just as a thought!) and cooked amazing meals for us any time we were home. He had incredible breakfasts and coffee ready every morning, and we enjoyed long talks on the porch and trading YouTube videos of a capella artists at dinner. His Steinway is out of this world, and he was happy to play for us and do duets while we sipped whisky and talked about travels. The house is very special and decorated with taste and fun, beautiful, personal relics. Everything was very clean, and Mike really wants to make sure his guests are comfortable and happy. This is not a transactional arrangement only :) he was responsive by phone and text and we never had an issue coordinating. He also has a beautiful and special arboretum behind his house. Being from NYC, it was like an oasis. I'd stay with Mike again in a heartbeat. He was an angel of a host and very sincere.

    Stephen2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is so great to stay mike's house ! And very close Woodstock academy school! And there have a very good apple barn around and fruits is so fresh ! Mike is a very kind and very romantic person which I saw a lot Paris pix at everywhere! And also have a lot good wine ! Stay safe and happy , also learn a lot from his lifestyle! Definitely we will back to stay here !

  • My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Michael's house. He was an exemplary host. During our entire stay, Michael generously shared his love of food and music with us. On several occasions, he played the piano for us. In fact, one evening when we came back to the house, we were greeted by the beautiful sounds of his piano and singing. Due in great part to Michael's hospitality, it was a weekend full of fond memories, laughter, beautiful music, honest conversation, and fantastic food. The house and the grounds are also beautiful. The historic house is full of character. It was clean and comfortable. There is a quiet and secluded arboretum directly behind the house. The surrounding houses and farms are expansive and charming. It is a short drive from Boston.

Awesome lake front cabin. Rental includes access to dock the use of on-site row boat, and 3 kayaks. This is a full house that has central A/C, heat and full bath with shower. The property is waterfront on spectacular 325 acre Echo lake with some of the best large mouth fishing in the area. Crystal clear water for swimming. The fall foliage views are amazing especially from a kayak. Come relax we are easy to deal with just NO PARTIES, NO PETS and NO FIREWORKS these rules are strictly enforced
  • My friends and I had an awesome long weekend at Mike's place. Check-in and check-out was very smooth and communication with Mike was easy. The cabin was exactly as described and as pictured. The cabin is definitely cozy, but we already expected that based on the listing. The cabin was very clean and has an amazing backyard with grill, picnic table, chairs, and most importantly a dock opening into the lake, and comes with three kayaks, and a couple little boats that were available for us to use, which definitely made our weekend. Would definitely go back for another weekend by the lake!

    Ruben2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's cozy cabin was a wonderful retreat for my family and I after a long trail race in the area. We were lucky to get a sunny day where we spent a few hours lounging and reading (and napping) by the lake. We did not go out on the kayaks/boat, but being by the lake was more than enough to recharge all of our batteries. It had just enough space for the 4 of us - sleeping arrangements worked best with 3 in the bedroom (2 on large bed, 1 on bunkbed) and 1 on the living room futon. Very comfortable beds. I brought all of the ingredients, but there was more than enough equipment in the stocked kitchen to make a batch of pumpkin pancakes in the morning. A simple and comfortable stay that made for a fantastic weekend. Thanks Michael.

    Steph2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mike was so helpful! The location is wonderful and the neighbors were fantastic also, We can not wait to return. This is truly a bang for your buck a must stay!!

  • Our stay was great. The place is small but we knew that going in. Plenty of room for our family of 5. We were comfortable in the cabin for everything from breakfast to relaxing before bed. The lake was lovely & the host was gracious enough to allow access of his paddle boats/fishing rods. Neighbors were friendly. Restaurant options weren't too far for when we didn't feel like cooking, Chester's was our favorite. No complaints. This was our first Airbnb experience and it was a home run! Thanks Michael for sharing your lovely cabin with our family!

    Christine2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Having grown up on EchoLake, it brought back so many fun memories. The cabin is cozy and the yard on the water is the best!!!

  • Michael was a great host! He was so easy to get ahold of and was very caring. He always made sure we were doing good and if we needed anything! The cabin was perfect! We highly recommend staying with Michael. We stayed with him throughout the month of October and would definitely stay with him again!!!

  • Perfect cottage on the lake. Everything was clean and readily available. Weather was poor for my visit but Michael had spare heaters for me. Would 100% visit again.

  • Michael is an amazing host. He responded almost immediately to any question I had. The cabin is small and cozy, my husband and I stayed with our daughters ages 10 and 15, we all loved it. The house is VERY well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom. The decor is super cute. The kayaks, paddle boat, and canoe were a welcomed surprise. A great stay at a great price....

  • Listing exactly as described. My husband and I had a one night get away here and it was perfect. The hosts recommended dinner at Bella's in the town of Putnam, less than 10 minutes away. It was fabulous. After dinner we went to a show at Foxwoods. It was very convenient to get there and back. Overall great stay and we'd definitely be back in the warmer weather to enjoy the beautiful outdoor area.

  • I truly hated driving away from such a peaceful, relaxing cabin. Perfect for a quiet week/weekend away with your significant other. Breathtaking sunsets. Amazing sunrises. A romantic, getaway yet all the fixings for a great weekend. Close to civilization, but you would never know it from the sounds of the birds as they slowly wake you. LOVED everything about this cabin. A must see to believe. SO WORTH IT! Lynne and Joe

    Lynne2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • John and Amy provided everything needed to have a great time on the beautiful lake. There's 4 kayaks, a row boat and a canoe. They had more than enough fishing equipment and a few games to play. The space was small but it was perfect for my girlfriend and I. It would also accommodate a few kids or another couple of that you don't mind sleeping in the same room with because the futon is in the same room as the bed. The windows cover nearly 360 degrees around the property so the light and views are great. Great coffee and tea selection for the Keurig they have there. The patio is great, with a propane fireplace near the grill. It rained for about 20 min during our stay but we stayed dry while grilling because it is all covered. If you prefer a natural fire, they have a fire pit on the beach with a few chairs surrounding it. The sun sets across from the property which made for a beautiful backdrop to our evening. Thanks again John and Amy! We will be back for sure!

    Jim2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The lake front cottage was absolutely amazing! It is exactly as described and even better than pictured. It was the perfect romantic getaway, but it would be also perfect for family or friend gatherings. With so many things provided it was hard to get to them all. We were able to use the bikes, row boat, gas fire pit, wood burning fire pit, fully stocked kitchen and of course the home itself, but there are also 4 kayaks, a canoe, endless fishing equipment, horse shoe pit, outdoor cooking and bbq, and I am sure more that I am forgetting. Even if these things weren't included the cottage would be amazing. I absolutely recommend this place and I will hopefully be returning!

This is a one bedroom post and beam apartment, on the second floor of one of our post & beam barns, in scenic East Woodstock, CT. Surrounded by open space, farmland and drumlins, it's ideal for artists, business travelers, parents and antiquers.
This was already an in-law apartment when we purchased the property. So, we decided to furnish it and list it with Airbnb for short term rentals.
There are plenty of antique shops in the area, as well as, hiking trails, canoeing, biking, swimming, golfing and Plein Air painting. Enjoy the local wineries and dine out at some of the finest restaurants in the area. If you are visiting in May, then make sure to visit the Brimfield Antique Show in Brimfield, MA, a short distance from Woodstock. And, of-course, the famous Woodstock Fair on Labor Day weekend every year. Ideal for families visiting for student graduations at Woodstock Academy, Pomfret School, and the Rectory School, in Pomfret, and the Hyde School in So. Woodstock.
  • The apartment has plenty of space. It is very nice having a full kitchen.

  • Mona's farmhouse apartment was just what I needed. A lot of space and very comfortable. They live on a cozy country road and were very hospitable. I would highly recommend this space!

  • Mona's apartment was a perfect stay. It was spacious and cozy at the same time with charming rustic appeal and all the comforts of home. We only stayed one night to visit the Brimfield flea market (a lovely scenic half hour drive away) but the whole property inside and out made me wish I could stay longer. It was cool enough in the evening to sleep with the windows open and hear nothing but crickets. We didn't explore too much of Woodstock but what we did was quiet and picturesque, which only added to the appeal of our stay. This apartment is a great place to get away and relax!

Our sweet cottage is a serene haven, located on pristine Ponagansett reservoir, 30 minutes from Providence. Come for swimming and fishing. Relax on the deck, play on our little beach. Breathe in the clean air and witness nature all around you.
Our cabin faces west, so you'll be able to enjoy spectacular sunsets while sitting on the deck.
Ours is a quiet, residential neighborhood. There are a couple of nice restaurants within 5 miles. Mexican - (Mexicali) Steak and seafood - (Tavern on Main) Classic Italian - (Corner Bistro - has a really nice bar)
  • The cabin was the perfect place to unplug, relax, and get back in touch with simpler rhythms. The lake is beautiful, with great swimming and kayaking, and we were visited daily by a great heron. Tom is a very attentive host without being intrusive. Because he lives nearby, whatever we needed something, we only had to call. If we lived closer, we definitely would rent this cabin again.

  • We loved our stay!

    Emily2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Tom 's cabin and its location. The welcome was warmer than warm and included all sorts of fabulous goodies! Great eggs, bread and wine so good we went next day to the winery and bought some more. Really appreciated freedom to use the kayaks too. Wished we could have stayed longer.

  • Wifi was powerful enough to watch Netflix with no buffering (bring your own computer - there is no tv). ------ Cell phone signal was good. ------ Coffee maker was a french press. ------ no microwave ----- Princess-wife was happy with this weekend home. ----- walk-in presentation was beautiful. ----- lake front actually has a section of sand ----- plenty of outside chairs ------ large fire pit needs Tom's approval (assume local, temporary bans during dry seasons).

    Mike2016-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location & perfect hosts

    Sandra 2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a peaceful get-away, a cozy cabin in a serene setting for a wonderful restbit return after a long, weary trip.

    Rebecca2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Tom's cabin was the best airbnb experience I have had. Tom was so kind, generous and helpful. He had baked bread, wine, fresh eggs, and a bowl of cherry tomatoes and peppers waiting for us upon arrival. The cabin was spotless. He even gave my mom a kayak lesson. I had originally intended on staying at the cabin by myself to reflect and relax however, I will be re-scheduling my me-time at Tom's cabin.

Our family cottage has all of the amenities to make your stay at the lake one to always remember. Beach, dock, boats, hammocks and two picnic tables to pass the day away. Three bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen, bathroom and screened all seasons porch to relax in between.
Our family cottage has provided us years of joy. And we've been investing the money we make right back into the cottage to improve our personal and guest experience every year. While not the prettiest place on the lake, it is after all a classic cottage, the inside is very comfortable and set up to entertain and provide many amenities of home. There are three bedrooms: - First bedroom has a king bed - Second bedroom a full size bed - Third bedroom contains a bunk bed (2 twin mattresses) and an extra twin mattress/box spring bed in the room. There is also a very plush futon in the main cottage area and a large sectional couch on the all season (fully enclosed) porch. We offer clean sheets, comforters, and pillow cases for the beds as well as clean beach and shower towels . Use of full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, stove/oven and gas grill are included. Pots, pans, plates, glasses and utensils are also included. Hot and cold water kitchen sink. Bathroom has a toilet, shower/tub and sink. Large trash and recycling totes available outside for proper garbage disposal. There is NO Laundry (washer & dryer) on premises.
There are 5 cottages that surround ours with plenty of private parking. Designated beach area and private dock are yours to enjoy. All of the amenities of suburbia are one exit south off Exit 41 (Old Exit 93) on Interstate 395. Supermarkets, Lowe's, Target, Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Liquor/Beer/Wine Store, Fast Food, Coffee/Donuts Shops, Restaurants, Bank, Gas, Laundromat, and whatever else on Earth that you need.
  • Perfect ! Lovely setting, very clean, bedding comfortable. Our host Tom always responded to any questions before our arrival and was available for any questions throughout our stay. We spent all our days at the Thompson Speedway and was not able to enjoy the swimming or boating on the lake. The kitchen was well stocked . We expect to return next year as soon as we have race dates. We had a small outside campfire both nights and sat outside and talked about the days events. Wonderful experience.

  • Our host, Tom, was outstanding. He provided all the details and made our entire transaction easy and seamless. We loved staying at his lake house. The area was pristine and quite. The house was clean. Beds were comfortable. It has everything we needed plus. And having access to his dock, boats, hammocks was a real bonus. We will definitely be back.

  • The host is as welcoming and friendly and helpful and accommodating as could be imagined. The lake is a hidden gem, and the cottage is perfect for my family and me. We love the spot and hope to return for many years to come. Thank you, Tom and Family.

  • This was our 2nd time staying at Cozy Cottage. We were attending the Vintage Car races and had little time to boat or fish. We love the peaceful lake and the location. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The new grill was a plus as was the new porch landing. Hope to return next year same time.

  • A quaint cottage, crystal clear lake, and great hosts, made for a wonderful family vacation! Tom and Becky were great hosts. They are friendly and very accommodating. They were as close as the phone for questions or help of any kind. At first sight, the cottage is open and inviting, and very comfortable looking, like home. The kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare, and serve meals. Tom and Becky made sure the kitchen was well stocked. It was great...and a big help when I spilled ice tea, and had forgotten the paper towels! No worry...they were there! The living room offers a comfy couch for watching TV, or a movie. We didn't spend much time in front of the TV...we enjoyed what "Mother Nature" offered:)....the beautiful lake! We cooked on the propane grill... burgers and hotdogs, steak and even lobster, and enjoyed our meals, on the picnic table in the spacious yard. Our favorite room was the enclosed sun-porch! Surrounded by lots of windows, basking in the sunlight and lake breezes. A great room to catch a nap during an afternoon rain. There were spacious couches for my family to stretch out, at the end of the day, to just relax and enjoy the time we had to spend together. Our #1 favorite spot..Hands Down...was the lake front and dock!!! The water is crystal cle(URL HIDDEN) refreshing and such fun. You can swim as far as your arms and legs will carry you. Tom and Becky thought of everything for a family to enjoy the lake. We had access to kayaks, boats....even swim vests for the kids! There is another picnic table down by the waterfront for lunch, or when the kids need a rest from their swimming. Its a perfect place for coloring books, reading, or a game of cards. And then there were the hammocks. A favorite with both adults and kids! We are already planning for time at the lake, again, next year. Thanks to Tom and Becky for opening their cottage for others, like my family, to have a vacation, at a location that was convenient for us, and affordable. I would happily recommend the "Cozy Cottage" to others to enjoy.

Your own private space on scenic Pulpit Rock Rd. in historic Woodstock, CT (one mile from town center) near quality dining in Putnam, Pomfret School, and the Rectory School, in Pomfret, and the Hyde School in So. Woodstock. Private entrance.
We built our home about 18 years ago with a separate apartment for Jamie's parents. When they passed away the apartment was occupied by one of our sons for several year. After being vacant for one year we decided to offer it for short-term rentals through AirBnb. The apartment is handicapped accessible and has its own fully equipped kitchen. Our B&B is fully licensed by the Northeast District Department of Health and the Town of Woodstock, CT.
Woodstock, Connecticut is considered part of the "Quiet Corner” of Connecticut. It is known for its history and rural landscapes. Woodstock has more operating dairy farms than any other town in Connecticut. But there are many types of farms, craft shops, antique shops, and restaurants intermingled with light industry. The scenery is spectacular, and the residents are friendly. Woodstock is about one hour from both Hartford, CT, and Providence, RI. Downtown Boston is one and a half hours away.
  • We have stayed here several times now...and it remains our very favorite Airbnb home away from home. The home is surrounded by the fauna and flora of changing seasons. The guest quarters are warm, welcoming, and perfectly appointed. Martha and Jamie are the kindest of hosts, and are well-equipped with information about the area, and great things to do. Martha's Welcome Muffins are incredible too! Would highly recommend a stay here in Woodstock.

  • Jamie and Martha are the most lovely and welcoming hosts. The accommodation was exactly as described and set in beautiful grounds. The food and drinks Jamie and Martha provided us with was a very thoughtful touch and much appreciated! This corner of Connecticut is very peaceful and picturesque, and Jamie and Martha gave great local recommendations. We would highly recommend this accommodation, and thank Jamie and Martha for their hospitality :)

  • Jamie and Martha really made us fell at home. Their apartment is absolutely beautiful!! It is a somewhat of a bed & breakfast, nice hotel and a place we would like to live in. The place is really clean and really cozy, and it exceeded our expectations. We had a great time hanging out and cooking in the well equipped kitchen. The house is close to town but fairly secluded. Jamie and Martha are amazing, welcoming and warm people. It was great talking to them when we arrived and before we left, we wish we could have gotten to know them better and stayed for a few more days. We would definitely recommend staying with them and would come back if we could!

  • Jamie and Martha were wonderful hosts. Their place is beautiful, spacious, and quiet. They were very communicative, and were able to accommodate our needs re: late arrival. Martha met us as we arrived and even left us some delicious bran muffins on the counter for breakfast! Our only regret is that we didn't get to talk to them more. We would absolutely stay with them again, no question.

We know the area well and wanted a place to stay with our children and grandchildren as we visited family. • This place is a real gem. There's something about the modern build, the charming alpaca next door, and the 1st and 2nd floor decks that really make this place remarkable. Jeff is a great host and checked in with us every morning to make sure we were doing ok.

  • Was visiting for a nearby wedding and was fortunate enough to find this space. It was really fun staying on an alpaca farm. The space was very well maintained and I really enjoyed the stay. Jeff, the owner, was very responsive and made the trip that much better. I would highly recommend this space to anyone needing a place to stay in the area. Great for solo traveler or a couple looking for an beautiful and unique barn style home.

The place is just beautiful inside and out side. The woodwork inside the cottage is drop dead beautiful! The black rooster just loved following me around and the Alpacas are fun to watch. The entire place is wonderful!!!

  • About the property: The farm is beautiful and peaceful. There are rolling hills in the distance. The house connected to the barn is cozy and inviting. The living area is on the ground level while the bedroom is on the upstairs loft. There is a deck which overlooks the alpacas and the garden. This deck was perfect for watching the sunset and then stargazing at night. The house was comfortable and clean, with great decor. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch while watching the alpacas graze. About the host: Jeff was very attentive and friendly. He left us a personal note and a bottle of wine in the fridge. He recommended local dining and answered all our questions with detail and excitement. We highly recommend this property and Jeff if you're looking for a scenic, peaceful getaway with a host who genuinely cares about your experience. We would gladly return! About the area: We had plenty to do nearby--restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts at The Vanilla Bean Cafe, which Jeff recommended, visited Taylor Brooke Winery, where we did a tasting and walked the grounds, visited Black Pond Brewery for unique craft beers, bought comicbooks at Wonderland Comics, went antiquing, and ordered delivery from Pizza 101. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming!

  • We stayed three nights at the Barn Suite at Southwood Alpacas while in Woodstock for a class reunion. The apartment is absolutely beautiful with a soaring ceiling on the ground floor which has a living room, kitchenette, and bathroom. The large bedroom in the loft upstairs has sliding doors to a deck where we enjoyed watching the alpacas in the evening. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The apartment had everything we needed, including super fast wifi. The setting is beautiful, very quiet and peaceful, yet close to the center of Woodstock and Putnam. Jeff is a great host; checked in with us frequently to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend staying here, it's way more comfortable and interesting than staying in a hotel!

    Kathleen2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing place to stay! It is literally away from all the chaos of the world. The setting is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The alpacas came out of the barn during the cooler hours of the evening and I enjoyed watching them from the deck. Jeff was a great host and communicated with me every day by email or text just to check in. The apartment was clean, private, and quiet. I loved the whole experience! thank you Jeff!

This Entire Island is Private and Available For Rent. Bring your own boat or borrow ours!! We have a complimentary row boat to get to and from the island, as well as Pontoon Boat Rentals, Kayak Rentals, and Paddle Board Rentals available to our guests. The Island is a step up from camping and is perfect for the outdoors type.
Thank you for your interest in renting our island paradise, we hope you enjoy our island as much as we do. Summers in New England are painfully short and for most, vacation time is substantially shorter. Dodd Island’s beauty and solitude provides a magnificent backdrop to the perfect island vacation. The island is approximately 7 acres with foot paths throughout. The water here is always calm which makes it a great place to bring your boat or rent one from us. The water is beautifully warm and clear for snorkeling and swimming. You can see turtles and huge large mouth bass as well as sunfish, pickerel and perch. Whitins Reservoir is a warm shallow lake with water depths around the island at about 20feet maximum. The reservoir is about 210 acres in area and is one of the clearest, cleanest lakes in all of Taxachusetts. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom as well as fish almost anywhere you look. The under water visibility is 20 to 40 feet which is unheard of in all but a few lakes which makes it great for snorkeling and diving. The land across from the island is part of the state forest system and it is made up of thousands of acres, all of which have hiking trails, brooks, ponds, meadows, etc. In fact, there are very few houses on the lake at all, due to most of the shoreline (3/4) is state forest. Summer time water temperatures are in the mid 80's. Jet skis and power boats are permitted but you must use common sense and obey boating laws. The beauty of this lake is that there is NO PUBLIC ACCESS because the lake is privately owned by all the people who live on the lake and because there are so few homes on the lake, the boat traffic is almost non existent. In essence, most of the time you pretty much have the lake to yourself. Try and find that anywhere else! You rent the entire 7 acre island with two cottages on it. The main cottage has a glassed in porch with a queen futon, a central sitting dining, kitchen area with another futon. There is a low loft area above for kids. The bathroom is small with a shower and sink. There is no flush toilet. We did not want to pollute the lake by putting in a septic system so we resurrected the old double seater outhouse. The second cottage is a sleeping cabin with a large front deck right at the waters edge. It has a queen bed. Towels and linens are not provided. There is a TV and blue ray player in the main cottage. The kitchen is complete with stove, microwave, fridge, blender, toaster, pots and pans and grill. There is full electricity and hot and cold running water. There is an indoor shower and an outdoor shower. However all the water is pumped in from the lake and is not recommended for drinking. There is an old fashioned pitcher pump well in the front yard for potable water or you can bring your own bottled water. VERY IMPORTANT ... if you are using a power boat you must always travel in a counter clockwise direction around the island. The island rental comes with a 12 foot aluminum rowboat to get you over to the island which is about 400 feet from the mainland. We highly recommend that you consider renting one of the pontoon boats to ferry you and your gear to and from the island. NOTE: WE HAVE BEEN RENTING DODD ISLAND SINCE 1984 AND IT ALWAYS FILLS RAPIDLY. MANY WEEKS ARE ALREADY TAKEN BY PAST VACATIONERS. SOME HAVE BEEN RENTING EVERY SUMMER FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS NOW. TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT, ACT QUICKLY IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN STAYING WITH US THIS SUMMER.

Enjoy relaxing on one of three decks/porches, watching fireflies, taking a dip in the pond in the middle of open fields and stone walls.
Our house is located in the middle of a 46 acre farmstead dating back to the mid-late 1700's. Stone walls, pond, apple orchard, outbuildings, chickens and woodland trails. New England at its finest. Beautifully updated, second floor, large bedroom with standard size double bed, sitting area and deck. Shared first floor bathroom with our family. Shower stall, no tub. Outdoor shower and pond swimming in warm seasons. We have 2 indoor cats and two (mostly outdoor) very friendly dogs. Please note-we have fans but no air conditioning. Unless we are in the middle of a heat wave it tends to cool off quite nicely at night. Wonderful area for biking. hiking, x-country skiing. Take the time to relax here, hike or spend the day exploring exceptional antiques shops and land trust properties that are 15 minutes away. Only 40 minutes to Providence, 60 minutes to Newport, 80 minutes to Boston. Free wifi, coffee, tea and breakfast. We have fresh veggies to share in the summer and fall. If we are home we will cook breakfast for you, if not there will be things you can prepare yourselves. This is a rural area and the closest public transportation is 5 miles away.
The peace and quiet, nature, ponds, hiking trails, antique shops, proximity to providence.......
  • What an amazing place! Very welcoming people with a great sense of humor. Paula and Pete are an adventurous couple and a lot of fun. We found them great to talk with and also good at giving us space to just be there and explore. Home made breakfast direct from the farm. No frills in the best way (one bathroom, but a widows walk on the roof with endless stars...). Thanks for a wonderful stay!

    Zach2014-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a truly wonderful experience. Everything was a delight, from the land itself, to the chickens, fresh homegrown foods and maple syrup, to the hammock and OUTDOOR SHOWER; the fireflies and stargazing, and especially our warm, funny, and truly genuine and delightful hosts, Pete and Paula, and their awesome dogs and cat. We felt comfortable and welcomed right away. The house is very well kept and has a very interesting history, the grounds are full of treasures, the food was insanely good, and there was so much to do. Pete and Paula were very giving of their time and told us about what ended up being a fantastic bike ride and a lot of great antiquing. We enjoyed being there so much that we stayed an extra night, and plan to come again in the Fall (zipline on the pond!) and Winter (Cross-Country skiing!).

    Sam2014-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Pete and Paula are wonderful hosts! The property is even better than pictured, the room is *very* quiet - you wouldn't even know you are sharing a house with them! Complete with night lights and flashlights, conveniently placed nightstands, and even a closet to hang your city clothes. The bathroom is clean and bright and has a great view of birds and the country. Nice and warm though it was cold outside at night (they had the wood stove fired up), easy to find, and close enough to Providence to go exploring without a long drive back. Plus, although they do have pets, they keep a really clean house and the pets are friendly without being obnoxious. Be sure to check out the roof top balcony (not recommended for the intoxicated or acrophobic) as well as the ancient stone walls that run though the property, a good part of which is forested. Honestly, if we hadn't had some city plans and a trip to the beach in mind, we would have been happy to hang out there the whole weekend. Lastly, I can't rave enough about Paula and Pete. They are friendly, cultured, down to earth, and really welcoming and warm human beings. Very knowledgeable about the area, and willing to go the extra mile to help make your trip memorable. Really, I want to go back to the area again just so I can stay with them again!

  • The experience at Paula and Pete's was excellent. They live in a great location with a long and secluded driveway. We were greeted by their 2 dogs, and there were chickens etc.. It really felt like you were stepping back into a place/property that hadn't changed in a long time. The room is very nice upstairs and there is a lot of natural light in their home. We arrived in spring/mud season, but hope to come back in the summer or fall to explore the property a bit more. They also made a great breakfast. Furthermore, my girlfriend left her coat there and Paula offered to mail it back. It was a great experience (for my first Air bnb experience) and I definitely plan to come back. Thanks again Paula and Pete! -James B (Boston MA).

  • Paula and Pete were amazing hosts. We stayed with them to get a night away and let our puppies run around (we don't have much outdoor space at home), and their property and home were beautiful. My husband and I, as well as our puppies, had an amazing time. Pete and Paula even made us breakfast in the morning as well as popcorn in the evening! Wonderful people, wonderful conversation, and wonderful location for a retreat away from home.

  • We had a very enjoyable stay at Paula and Pete's. Beautiful house, in lovely surroundings - fantastic views from the deck on the roof. And best of all, Paula and Pete's warm hospitality and lovely food - excellent breakfast and evening meal. We really enjoyed our stay. We had a lot of traffic coming out of Boston on a Friday afternoon so arrived later than intended. As it was dark, we found it a bit difficult to find, as every track covered in fall leaves looked the same, but Paula's helpful directions got us there without a problem. Ali

  • This is a very pleasant place to stay. Paula and Pete were so friendly and easy going. The house is small and delightful- we felt like we were staying with friends. The weather was warm- so we enjoyed keeping the bedroom deck door open... of course with the screen door shut. The bed was comfortable It was uplifting to be surrounded by nature. In the morning there was steel cut oatmeal, homemade granola and an offer of fresh eggs from their chickens!

  • We had a WONDERFUL time at Paula and Pete's. Our first night there we ended up just chatting with them for hours—very interesting folks! They were very friendly and helpful; they even let us borrow their bikes! This place is the perfect getaway city-dwellers; plenty of hiking trails and very pet-friendly. We would absolutely stay here again!

  • What a great place!

  • Christine's home is beautiful, clean, and comfortable and was a perfect location for a get together with old college friends. The surrounding towns have great shops and restaurants and we spent a wonderful evening at the Golden Lamb Buttery. Christine also connected us to the ladies at Salon One, a short walk from the house, and several of us took advantage of the outstanding facials, massages and manicures they offered. There is a walking trail right behind the house, but we spent most of our time hanging out in the large chef's kitchen, or on one of the two decks that wrap around the house. We brought a couple of airbeds which we used to fit our group of 13 a bit more comfortably, but there are plenty of bathrooms and the towels and sheets were clean and inviting. The 4 pm check-in was a bit inconvenient for the friends who flew in from out of town (and though we asked about an earlier checkin, due to cleaning it was not possible), but in fairness, the listing was clear about the timing. Overall, we had an outstanding weekend together at Christine's and the house served as a perfect place to stay.

  • Christine is so kind and welcoming, and the Auberge at Feather Hill could not be lovelier. We stayed at the Auberge for our inaugural writers' retreat, and the house was perfect for our group. There are lots of spaces for people to curl up on their own, for small groups to meet throughout the day, and for our entire group to gather in the evenings. The bedrooms are all lovely, spacious, and beautifully decorated. And the kitchen is large, comfortable, and well-equipped. The Auberge is a terrific spot for group retreats, family gatherings, or corporate getaways. Christine was an absolute pleasure to work with, always so thoughtful and easy to communicate with. What a positive experience! We could not be happier.

  • Feather Hill was a wonderful place to stay with family, everyone had their own room and bathroom and the outside deck was a great place to gather. The property is beautiful. We truly enjoyed our visit.

  • The house was lovely!

    Sarah2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a bit off the beaten path. Great access to a running trail (~50 miles of wide, flat trail directly behind the house), but a bit more effort to get to restaurants and stores. The house is well equipped and comfortable and very clean. The private bathrooms for each bedroom make it an excellent fit for a company retreat.

    Steve2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our 4-day stay at the Auberge. The house, more like a bed and breakfast setup, was very clean and well organized. It had all the essentials a party would need for a stay. There is a hiking trail right behind the house and the house is 10-15 mins away from Walmart and restaurants. The internet could be a bit slow if there are a lot of people in the house. It didn't bother us too much as our party enjoyed our time together.

  • Great stay for the weekend! Plenty of room with comfortable bedrooms and tons of space. The house was very clean and beautiful!
