  • Debbie's cottage is just beautiful! It is the perfect size for a cosy getaway for 2 and is equipped with everything you might need on your stay, even a hair dryer! Debbie has thought of everything and her little decorative touches were very appreciated. The location is very handy to Stanthorpe town, many wineries and Girraween National Park. We would love to stay again! Thank you so much Debbie :)

  • Debbie was an outstanding host. Upon arrival we found she had left us Tim tams, fresh fruit and flowers. Such a beautiful touch! The cottage itself is so lovely. Absolutely perfect for a getaway. We will definitely be recommending to friends and returning!

Thank you fo making our stay in Stanthorpe so memorable! I recommend this cottage to anyone and we will definitely be back.

  • Perfect location in Stanthorpe. Right on the edge of town, still close to the centre but it feels like you're amongst the vineyards. The view from the back balcony is secluded and perfect for sunsets. Great furnishings and comfy bed. Couldn't recommend this place more!

  • We had a wonderful weekend stay at the cottage. Debbie has such an attention to detail, from the fire roaring when we arrived to the breakfast tray set out with an array of fruit, yoghurt, juice etc, tea & coffee. The cottage is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. We could have stayed longer! Looking forward to staying again!

  • Our stay at Silky Oak Cottage was delightful. The cottage was very clean and private with all the amenities we needed provided. Very comfortable bed and a wonderful outside sitting area where we could relax over a glass of wine. Girroween National Park is very close and we enjoyed coming back to the cottage to relax after a full day hiking. Thank you Debbie

Greetings to all enquiring guests we have a lovely 3 bedroom house. We have a big sunroom for early morning sunrise with a lovely sofa and the kitchen table to injoy all meals. We are only a 2 minute drive from Donnelly castle where there are lots of liqueurs and wines. Also 2 minutes down the road is the Stanthorpe cheese factory where it's is produced on site from the farm to the plate.
1x double bed for guests. With sheets and blankets supplied with towels and soap
  • Avoid this hole like the plague. I have stayed in many AIRBNB's around the world but ashamed to call this host an Australian. It’s overpriced and host still tells you to bring your own blankets as they only supply one. Bedroom is not heated so the temperature outside -3oC is the same inside the bedroom so you won't get any sleep because you spend whole night shivering. Host writes that a bit of milk is okay but anything else must be charged for so we were too scared to have a hot cup of tea/coffee to warm us up. Host profile picture doesn't match host so it confused us on arrival. We have no problem if host matches photo. Normally AIRBNB hosts go out of there way make sure the room is adequately warmed for travelers but this person is exceptional. Oh, I didn't know this but once you agree to stay in someone's home, regardless of how bad it is, forget taking photos as evidence as they will reject you claim and your money is gone. Instead leave immediately and call AIRBNB help centre and get a witness statement at police station as proof that you were homeless. When the temperature was at its minimum (2am) staying in this hole was purgatory as we could not keep ourselves warm and we had no other place to go. Place is under renovation so host will show you where they have ripped up all carpets so that cold air comes up through floor boards because they haven't yet gap-filled. If someone wants to host guests they must look after their comfort, if not don't do it. Wise saying: Treat others how THEY would like to be treated.

In the heart of the Southern Downs on the Granite Belt and only 11 Km north of Stanthorpe lies 'The Summit'. Enjoy the country life in a serene and peaceful setting - this is your home base to enjoy some of the best the area has to offer.
Valleyview is a small working farm in NSW on the Qld/NSW border. We run a small herd of cattle and sheep and grow small crops. As this is a farm, dogs and other animals will be about. There are other houses on the property, you may see or hear people when you are coming and going. Your accommodation includes a large family room, separate spacious bedroom and a shower room. The bedroom with queen bed sleeps 2 adults and a convertible sofa bed sleeps 2. Prices vary depending on the number of people staying. The unit is at ground level with one small step. There is a carport attached and doubles as a covered outdoor area. A microwave, fridge, toaster and electric kettle are also provided for your convenience. A light breakfast is included in the pricing. Laundry facilities (shared) available on request Cot available on request.
The Summit is an area of wineries, cafes and boutique shops. The 'Big Apple' and the popular 'Suttons' apple orchard cafe are only 1km away. Castle Glen brewery and the Cheese factory, antique and bric-a-brac shops and plenty of cellar doors will keep you busy. Further you will find many other products like chillies, jams, olives. Take a twenty minute drive and you can get a picture at Wallangarra on the Queensland/New South Wales border or if it is market day, buy some products.
  • Great venue, amazing hosts, thought of everything esp. fire on rainy night was fantastic. Bit of drive to vineyards (which can’t be fixed of course). Otherwise great value and lots of space.

Converted Secluded Space - set amongst the gum trees. Warm wood heater, comfy lounges, high speed wifi, playstation 3, games, DVD player. Easy access. Well behaved pets and children welcome! It is normally available late June through to September. Other times - please contact us.
Gumnut Cottage is a converted space offering a private, peaceful retreat for couples, groups of friends, as an artistic retreat for an intimate group or for families. The kitchen has an electric oven, griller with a ceramic cooktop stove. There is a microwave, a refrigerator and a stand up freezer outside. There is a variety of cookware and utensils provided so guests have everything they need to prepare and cook meals . Basic kitchen utensils, cutlery, plates etc, toaster, juicer, blender, coffee machine are here. The converted cottage space has very high ceilings, freshly painted and is tiled throughout to give a spacious feeling. The dining table inside seats six, but can be extended to seat 8. There is a sunny outside settee for smokers and garden settings out under the trees for a more peaceful escape. We have a small firepit outside the patio area surrounded by rough sawn logs to sit round the warm coals and toast marshmallows after a busy day at the wineries or bushwalking. Please note, that sufficient firepit wood will be supplied for an ambient, marshmallows toasting fire to chat round for one evening. Should you want to cook over it or have a larger fire or a fire every night of your stay, extra wood will need to be purchased or brought. Our local IGA has wood for this purpose. The "Base Pricing" is for two people (adults or children) accommodated in the King Sized room - Grevillea. The other rooms will be closed off, unless extra people are booked in. In your message to us, please specify which bedding configuration is required - Warratah Room ( 2 bunk beds beds which are suitable for adults to sleep in ) and / or Banksia Room ( Double Bed). Total bedding configuration is strictly for 8 people ( adults or children) and extra bedding or beds is, unfortunately, not possible. Our bunk beds, though comply with Australian Standards, come with the advice that children under 10 should not be allowed to sleep in the top bunk beds. There is no charge for well behaved pets who bring their own bedding. We have four Angus cows, four chickens and three geese on the property. Though they won't be in a space directly accessible to the cottage, those with sensitivities and allergies may need to know this. Please also note that our cottage welcomes pets inside and though cleaned thoroughly after each guest leaves, those with sensitivities and allergies to pets may need to take this into account before booking. Guests are welcome to hand feed the cows and chickens at feeding times. Please pre-arrange this for your visit. Gumnut Cottage is easily located as we are just off the highway and although the traffic can be heard during the daytime, our buffer of trees and native shrubs buffers the noise and during the evening, there is very little traffic on the roads. We welcome well behaved pets both inside and outside the cottage. However, please note that there is livestock in adjoining paddocks, so pets must be on a lead or tied up at all times and must not be allowed to wander. Pets must not be allowed to sit or sleep on lounges, chairs or beds. Parents are reminded that there are large dams close by and although separated by barbed wire fences, they are urged to ensure they supervise children at all times. Guests are asked to take into account that the cottage is located in the countryside and as such, our animal visitors will, from time to time, leave their unique calling cards on the patio, and though these are cleaned up regularly, that guests may encounter these 'gifts' on their shoes. Also, though regularly spiderwebs are taken down from walls and ceilings and these arachnid families are lovingly encouraged to live elsewhere, our spiders are extremely resilient, hardworking and diligent and like to show their appreciation of co-habiting with guests. They particularly love to hang out on the patio. Eviction notices don't seem to be quite cutting it with them at the moment.
This is a peaceful family rural neighbourhood close to the thriving town of Stanthorpe (19km) Lots of local cultural activities at wineries, pubs, national parks, art gallery and library with a great range of restaurants and cafes. For something different, why not take the steam rain to Wallangarra ( runs once a month) or hire a bicycle from the Tourist Board in Stanthorpe and enjoy the scenic country lanes.
  • My girlfriends and I stayed at gumnut cottage for a weekend away with a wine tour. Our stay was perfect the scenery is picturesque and peaceful the cottage was immaculate with dressing gowns and marshmallows. Everything you could need. Annie and Michael were extremely helpful and communicative leading up to our stay. Would highly recommend nothing beats sitting around a fire having some drinks with your mates. Thanks for an incredible stay guys, would love to come back day! Would absolutely Recommend.

    Hannah2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Annie let us know about everything very quickly (organisation, what to do around town) and she was very flexible about the check-in and check-out times. Very simple house but sufficient to spend a few nights away from the city with a group of friends. Also, the fireplace/wood stove was pretty cool and we didn't get cold at all!

    Valentina2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage. Close to all the attractions we wanted to visit. Private and quiet. Loved it.

    Richard2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Annie was wonderful and provided a lot of useful communication ahead of time. We arrived to a nice, warm cottage with the fire already crackling. The renovated shed was comfortable and spacious with all the necessary ammenities. Extra bonus was the large outdoor fire pit that has recently been added! The bedding was good but if you like your super comfy pillows like some of our group do, maybe bring yours from home. We are normally campers but had a baby with us so wanted something more comfortable and suitable for an infant. Gumnut suited our needs perfectly. Unfortunately, one of our crew lost a diamond from their ring. We are unsure if it was even at the cottage but Annie bent over backwards looking for it and kept us informed, which was just an example of her kindness and helpful hosting.

    Amanda2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Host was very friendly and accommodating, and was extremely helpful in getting us out of a bind. For this I cannot fault them. The accommodation was of an acceptable standard, however the cleanliness of the space was not. Example: floors were dirty, sheets were yellowed and smelt stale (even taking into account the use of bore water), cobwebs and dust covered most surfaces. The "welcome pack" of beverages (tea, coffee, hot chocolate) was massively out of date, and the utensils and appliances were not of a standard of cleanliness that we felt was hygienic. There was mould in a tea cup, a used razor and loofah in the bathroom, and bugs crawling out of the toaster, amongst other things. If the cleanliness was improved, would be happy to stay again.

    Simone2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Gumnut cottage is not a cottage. The house shown in some photos is Annie's house but you stay.in the shed. Oven doesn't work, BBQ was filthy and the linen did not smell fresh. We had to leave because the toilet was blocked and overflowing. Asked for our booking fee back we were charged but it was declined. Very disappointed and would not recomnend

    Christin2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • lovely spot to unplug for a while and lovely people who hosted us :)

    Peter2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Annie was very helpful with information prior to our stay, which was really appreciated. Unfortunately there is a 3 minute timer on the shower which I unfortunately found out whilst trying to wash my hair. I understand water conservation is important but that is just way too little and there are no signs in the bathroom warning of the limit which I would expect (rather than having to read through the entire house manual). Also, be warned that the bathroom is merely partitioned (albeit with a proper wall) with a very large gap at the top allowing the sound of any bathroom activities to travel very well across the tiled accomodation. If you're going with a group I would feel very awkward. The batteries were missing from the dvd remote and there were also no fire starters left in the indoor fire container. Not huge things but at all added up. We had an okay stay, but will go elsewhere next time.

  • We had a great time staying at Bob's property. It was everything it said it was. It's the perfect house for a large group of people; so many activities to keep you and / or kids busy. If anything, the photos don't really do it justice - our expectations were exceeded when we arrived. If we find our self in Stanthorpe again with a large group, we'd definitely consider staying again. Thanks again, Bob, for letting us stay.

    Caitlin2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Bob kept in contact, giving us early access to the house. Beautiful large house - we were 5 couples & there was plenty of room. Great location - quiet & peaceful. A fire pit would be awesome in the fron paddock as the weather was perfect..

  • Eaglehawk is a beautiful old farmhouse full of lovely homely touches. Clean and comfortable. Quiet and tranquil with great bush views and sounds. Gilly and Bill are very helpful and friendly hosts. Really enjoyed our stay.

    Dirk2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a real, Aussie farmhouse experience, then this is the place for you. It is secluded, surrounded by paddocks with sheep, goats and kangaroos. The farmhouse provides quintessential rustic comfort. No central heating, but two beautifully efficient fireplaces and plenty of firewood (handy to know how to build a fire); and comfortable beds with plenty of warm bedding (we went in the middle of winter). Be aware that this is an off-the-grid property that relies on solar power and tank water, so if you are expecting 5-star luxury you will be disappointed. But if you are looking for comfort, peace, quiet, and a lovely Australian bush setting, then you will find it all here. You will need to be confident about driving on gravel roads (well maintained) to get to your destination, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Gilly's place.

  • We stayed for two nights over the Apple & Grape festival. We really enjoyed our stay! This is the first time we have used air b'n'b & the host has been home, previously we have stayed in the whole house/apartment. It was great to get some local knowledge for the festival. It was also a good experience to spend some time wandering around their animals, it's always a novelty to be able to pet cows! The house is only 5kms from Stanthorpe which makes it super convenient for getting into town. The only problem we had & admittedly it was something we hadn't even thought about, was getting a cab from Stanthorpe back to Applethorpe after the festival had ended! It proved very challenging!

    Liz2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Carmen and Nathan are. Wet friendly. The location is not hard to fine even in dark. There are 5 friendly pets indoor and a few more outdoor for the animal lovers. The property is scenic too.

  • Very comfortable stay!

    Bronwyn2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Here is a very good farm and animals experience. Nathan and Carmen is very nice, talkative and helpful.

    Ivy2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Carmen and Nathan have a beautiful property which has added bonuses of a variety of very friendly animals. They are in the process of building a disc golf course on the grounds which will make a very interesting additional feature to the visitor's stay. Carmen and Nathan were very friendly and welcoming and were anxious to help in any way to make my stay pleasant.

    Linda2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carmen and Nathan were great hosts. We sat by the fire with the dogs and two cats and talked all evening long. It was delightful. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

Folkestone House is a classic heritage-style Queensland home mixing in the old and the new to provide the perfect atmosphere to unwind. It can comfortably accommodate up to six people, and is ideal for anyone looking for a family getaway destination, or somewhere to spend the weekend with friends. The house sits on the beautiful Quart Pot Creek, and is only 150 metres from the town centre of Stanthorpe. Folkestone House also sees itself at the heart of the thriving Granite Belt wine country.
  • The house far exceeded our expectations. Size, inclusions, location and value for money were all fantastic. The styling of the house was exceptional and made our group feel welcomed and as if we were in a luxury hotel! An incredible stay all-round! Thank you Tracy!

  • We have stayed in a few Airbnbs around the world and Folkestone House would have to rate as one of the best! It is a beautiful house in a very central location, very warm, stylish and comfortable. Checkin and out could not have been easier. We had a wonderful weekend checking out the local wineries. Could not recommend it more highly and hope to return sometime soon!

  • Sue & John's villa is one of the best accommodations we have stayed! The place was spotless, nicely decorated and provides everything you need. Very warm and cosy with the fireplace even we had a rainy weather. Sue and John warmly welcomed us on arrival and thoughtfully prepared us a light meal (which you will need after a long journey of travelling). They are always very attentive to the guests's needs. Could not recommend highly enough! Will definitely be back again!

  • The house, property and facilities are exactly as the photos shows. Well presented, clean and tidy with everything you need for a wonderful weekend. To walk on the property around the dam and to the summer house is a treat as well as the experience of going into an old historical shearing shed. We particularly loved sitting on the verandah with our wine and cheese for the local winery and cheese factory cooking up a storm on the BBQ. Beautiful relaxing environment. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Stanthorpe

  • We had a great weekend in Stanthorpe and very much enjoyed staying at Mallow Cottage. Helen was a great host and delivered us a pack of lamb for the BBQ on our first night, which was delicious. We'd definitely stay here again as there was plenty of room for all 5 of us. My kids loved being able to explore the farm, chop wood & toast marshmallows!! The tea & coffee provided (especially the coffee machine) was an added bonus!thanks

  • Perfect is all I can say about apple blossom cottage and Robert the host. Spotless, uncluttered and spacious with everything you need. The bed is so comfortable, electric blanket and fire on arrival! Kindling, logs and fire starters to ensure a body stay on a chilly couple of nights. Walk to town and restaurants, super markets and everything you could possibly need. A very memorable experience and a must stay in Stanthorpe, cheers, Jan

    Jan2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The best thing is the wood burning stove, it will stay alight all night and it is ready to go in the morning. Robert supplied lots of firewood. Nice back deck to take in the afternoon sun. We had a great pizza from cafe in town the Robert recommended. Second night we ate at Annas which is a 1 min walk, fantastic. We also enjoyed our morning walks along the creek thru Stanthorpe.

Lynrose Place comfortably accommodates up to 6 people and makes for an ideal destination for your family, or a getaway with your friends. Regardless of the reason, Lynrose Place is the perfect destination, where you can unwind with a glass of wine by the fireplace, or the outdoor fire pit, with kindling and wood supplied. Enough undercover parking for 3 vehicles. Lynrose Place is in close proximity to all the convenience of the township of Stanthorpe.
The gardens surrounding Lynrose Place were established over 35 years ago. Winding paths of stone walkways have been established to lead you around the many azaleas and bulbs which prolifically flower in springtime. Stop to smell the roses in summer. Autumn is highlighted with red and golden tones as the leaves begin to fall. Even in winter, an enchanted garden appears bringing little surprises – who knows - maybe a touch of snow! The gardens are an ideal location for wedding photos or any other special occasion. Sit a while on a garden seat to soak up nature in all its glory.
Lynrose Place is situated at the end of a no-through road, making it a very quiet place to stay.
  • This house and it's gardens have been so well cared for. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay, we'd love to return with the whole family and for longer next time. Kitchen is well equipped and the decor is stunning.

  • Lynrose Place is ideally located in a quiet part of town just outside of Stanthorpe. The gardens are beautiful and the entire home is very cozy. We were only three, but the home could have easily fit 6 people within the three bedrooms.

  • When travelling to Stanthorpe this is a wonderful option. We used this a central hub for 3 couples. Each couple enjoyed their own space, comfortable beds and the beautiful views of the Gardens. I could not highly recommend Lynrose place enough to any type of traveller.

  • Our weekend away at Lynrose Place was wonderful. The house was perfectly clean, the rooms spacious, the fireplace was fantastic on the cold winter nights and the gardens lovely to enjoy during the day. It is located on a quiet street at the end of a no through road just two minutes from the town centre. I would highly recommend Lynrose Place to anyone visiting Stanthorpe. Whether you are having a family weekend away or a weekend with friends it is the perfect place to appreciate the beautiful country air.

  • The property, while off the beaten track, was very easy to find and welcoming. The small workers cottage featured two bedrooms, a renovated bathroom and functional kitchen. The beds were comfortable and linen clean. The wood burning fireplace was a feature. We stayed during a really cold period so while some of the windows were drafty, the cottage was quite cosy. The bathroom was not heated, but the water was hot. The house is clean, warm and authentically basic with everything you would need. The cottage is far enough away from the homestead to be private, but must admit the lack of locking doors was foreign to a city dweller. The view from the front porch is a treat. Overall this is a short drive (2 hours) from Brisbane and worth the trip. Would recommend any stay for a couple, or small family. Gilly and her family are lovely.

    Kim2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Surpassed all expectations we throughly recommend visiting this hidden treasure. Thank you both Bill & Gilly for making us welcome.

    Lezley2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyable rural stay. Cottage is clean and comfortable, fire warms the house on a chilly night. Kids loved meeting Rusty the friendly dog and played their first game of monopoly.

    Julianne2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is exactly as you'd expect a farm cottage to be. It is an older house, in good original condition, with a modern bathroom addition. Everything was functional and comfortable. The daytime temperature was great, but it is very cold at night, but the warm quilts and the open fire helped to make it very cosy. We had a really nice stay here for a few nights. For a lovely genuine farm experience, this is a great spot. Gilly was very helpful with recommendations for local places to visit. It is about a half hour drive from Stanthorpe, but we found more than enough to do around Dalveen, with the wineries, apple factory and the maze to visit, and only drove into Stanthorpe on our first day.

    Joanne2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our host made us feel very welcome and the cottage was absolutely gorgeous! The bathroom would have to have one of the best views in the world looking out over the unique Australian country side. We would love to go back in the middle of winter as that would be a completely different experience. I highly recommend Sorrento if you want to get away from the busyness of a city and other larger towns.

    Annalisa2015-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Gillys cottage. It was cosy, clean and had a warm fire all stoked up and ready for us when we got there. We had a chat to Gilly and found out some interesting facts about the area and we were free to venture off through the day to come back at night. Thanks very much. We hope to be back one day again x

    Simone2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay at Sorento. Great property and great host.

    Denis2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely - we wished we had more time. The cottage is really cute, in a beautiful location - well off the beaten track without being so far that it's difficult to get there. Wood fires at night, waking up to birds and a view of gum trees, fields, farm animals and kangaroos. Comfortable beds, pretty, sunny modern bathroom, old-style but actually very cute kitchen - the other reviews said it was basic but it had everything we needed - cute porch out the front with views. The main house is walking distance but the cottage is quite separate and private. Gilly was very kind and welcoming. Great place to explore the granite belt from - we had limited time but, travelling with our two children, we loved the apple farm (very close by) and giraween national park - they were the highlights apart from the cottage itself. We hope to visit again.

    Justin2017-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage - Debbie has provided lots of welcoming touches like a breakfast tray with fruit and cereal, scented candles, electric blankets and spotless cleanliness. We had a lovely weekend and the pot-bellied stove kept us toasty warm. Debbie even dropped off a corkscrew for us when we made the mistake of buying a bottle of wine with a cork!

Quite country Cottage in a cute rural town on the Granite Belt!
  • Very comfortable cottage, close to shops and restaurants in town and close to the park too. We stayed as a family of five, three young children, and had a great weekend. Thanks Maree!

  • A perfect place to relax and wind down. Beautiful fireplace and cottage filled with character. Awesome location close to town with a great restaurant just across the road - Mcgregor Terrace Food Project. Maree was also super helpful!

    Emily2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cottage in a very convenient, though quiet, location. Maree was very accommodating and checking into the property was very easy. The cottage is spotless, with a lovely cosy feel. Highly recommended.

    James2015-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a delightfully appointed, true to period early 19th century home. It was warm (courtesy of multiple heating options) and it provided everything neccessary to make our stay very pleasant.

    Frank2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • All appeared as described however the house had built up to oven temperature heat (must have been 50 degrees celsius plus) and had not been ventilated in preparation for our arrival. Locals advised that this heat wave was unusual (34 degrees ambient when we arrived) but the heat build up rendered property unliveable and caused us to find an alternative motel. Host was unsympathetic (despite public holiday $$$ rates) and fan provided was ineffectual. Be warned - do not book this house in summer!!!

    Michael2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Dillion Cotrage was a comfortable stay for our adult family of 4. The cottage is convenient to downtown. Annas restaurant & the Food Project were both almost on the doorstep.

    Maria2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Dillon's Cottage has a wonderful historic character, with plenty of family photos and beautiful heritage features. However we found this traditional Queenslander cottage a bit cool during a chilly week in Stanthorpe, with very little insulation, limited firewood supplies and a small hot water system. The gas fired heater in the kitchen was our saviour.

    Craig2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in the middle of town and walking distance to everything. Had everything you needed for a good night - fireplace, elects blankets on all beds and heaters. Fully equipped kitchen, laundry. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you

Modern comfort in the heart of Queensland's premier wine region, The Buckle is a spacious, self-contained studio retreat offering a clean, uncluttered, delightful mix of old and new. Constructed in brick and tile and recently refurbished, with full insulation and under floor heating in winter, The Buckle is an ideal getaway all year round. Whilst overlooking protected bushland, The Buckle is encircled within classic country gardens, a wisteria and rose-covered arbor and treed lawns.
Located only 6 minutes to drive to Stanthorpe's High Street, our 40-acre block is certainly not the biggest on our road! Our property is frequented by a huge variety of native wildlife- from tiny finches to enormous kangaroos (who bound effortlessly over fences), noisy cockatoos to reclusive echidnas and is also home to spectacular native and majestic exotic and deciduous trees and shrubs. The tranquility is usually only broken by our free ranging and persistently stupid chickens... Please do remember we experience all four seasons in Stanthorpe and Autumn and Winter can be both spectacular and bare in the gardens!
  • My wife and I stayed at Karen's place for two nights and we had an absolutely amazing time. They are great hosts who are happy to be as involved or removed as you want. We were greeted with a very friendly reception by Karen who clearly cares deeply about the Buckle and her guests. I would certainly recommend staying at the buckle if you get the opportunity. Karen also recommended some tour operators in the area who do wine tastings and that was very much appreciated as we went on a twilight vineyard tour and were not disappointed. Thanks guys!

    James2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Peacefully quiet, located conveniently within a short distance to town, wineries and some fantastic local producers. Karens hospitality and local knowledge is wonderful. We were lucky enough to tour the grounds and collect some eggs from her friendly chickens. Can’t wait to come back! Thanks again

  • Karen was a very caring attentive hostess. We had s great stay at the cottage which is in a beautiful setting private and well equipped, roomy with a great natural outlook. Would happily return here.

  • We really enjoyed staying at The Buckle just for one night. Karen and her daughter, Laura were very friendly and great hostess. The apartment was well appointed, modern and clean. We loved the under floor heating which made us feel warm at night. We also loved the breakfast Karen prepared for us. It was delicious. We would stay there for longer time. Would highly recommend The Buckle for my friends and visitors.

  • Beautifully presented self contained cottage. Lovely quiet spot.

    Georgina2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at The Buckle for one night and had wished that we stayed for longer. We thoroughly enjoyed the quietness and outlook of the bungalow. There were chickens roaming around and we also spotted a couple of wallabies. The bungalow is in perfect condition and everything is newly renovated. Karen and Laura both welcomed us upon arrival, they even prepared a breakfast platter in the fridge for my husband and I to cook for ourselves the next morning. The platter included bacon, eggs, avocado, tomato, toast, cheese, butter, jams, orange juice, water & milk. They also provided us with a couple sneaky chocolates. The best part was reading my book on the outside day bed. Thanks Karen and Laura!

A well appointed comfortable and fully self contained home awaits you located within walking distance of the Town Centre, Parks and Restaurants. You will love the outdoor space at Bonaways being located on a large private town block set in off the Street. There is plenty of outdoor space for the kids to play. A nice warm place for a family getaway.
Bonaways is such a unique property. We are set on just over 2 acres of land on the main Street of Town so we are within distance of the Town Centre, Restaurants and Parks. The house is set in off the Road. There is plenty of outdoor space especially for kids to run around and play outdoor games or ride bikes. I am sure they will enjoy climbing the natural rocks located at Bonaways. You can enjoy a relaxing time sitting with family and friends on the verandah whilst admiring the open space Bonaways has to offer.
  • Our group of 6 adults and 7 kids had a fabulous stay at Bonaways. Kids had a ball running around the huge yard. Plenty of room and the fire kept us cosy and warm. Thanks for everything, Alfina.

    Rebecca2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here. Thanks alfina!

    Emma2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very enjoyable stay at Alfina's. The house is close to the centre of town, is very spacious and well equipped. The grounds also have beautiful granite boulders throughout.

  • Peaceful setting. Lots of room inside and out. Ideal for families or a group of adults. Very clean. It had everything we needed. Verandahs great for relaxing and watching the birds. Sitting round the fire on a chilly night is wonderful too. The Quart Pot Creek parklands, info centre, shops, cafes and supermarkets are close by. The Stanthorpe district is a great area to visit. We highly recommend it and Bonaways.

  • Great place to stay in Stanthorpe as a group. We were there for a funeral , but it was awesome to be able to have the family all stay in the one house and made things much easier. The BBQ and fire were fantastic and really made the place seem like a home away from home.

    Martin2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for our family get-together. Clean, comfortable and kid-friendly. Helpful, friendly host. We will definitely be back!

    Lisa2017-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bonaways was the perfect location for 4 of my friends and I to get away to Stanthorpe for a 3 night stay. It had the amount of bedrooms we were looking for and was very comfortable and homey. The beds and pillows were great, and the linen and towels were high quality. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. It was very well located for our day trips out to the wineries and other tourist spots. Alfina was a great host and was very accommodating when I requested some pedestal fans. Communications were prompt and informative. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bonaways for a group or family (great large yard to run around in).

  • Great location and plenty of space, even had a garage where we could park our car. The house is off the road and it was lovely and quiet.

Carrig Cottage is a charming older style house in the township of Stanthorpe. The Cottage is cosy and accommodates six people comfortably. Within walking distance (15-20minutes) to the High St, local cafes and restaurants and the parkland along the Quart Pot Creek, Carrig Cottage is a great place from which to explore Stanthorpe. Further afield are National Parks, many wineries, a growing number of cottage industries and events and festivals hosted on the Granite Belt.
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Bernadette's place, from the welcome and introduction by her sister Siobhan, who showed us around. The cottage is comfortably furnished and decorated to feel like home. It was cold and wet on arrival but inside was toasty with the fire burning and Bernadette had left generous provisions and fresh flowers. The next 2 days were glorious with clear blue skies, and coffee and tasty local bread (thanks Bernadette!) were savoured on the front patio enjoying the bird songs and autumn leaves. Carrig Cottage is a must stay in Stanthorpe, and I can't wait to return!

    Lyn2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is really comfortable, with attractive decor and plenty of space. It was nice to have a log fire waiting on a crisp Autumn evening, as well as fresh bread and milk. there were nice toiletry supplies as well. A very nice place to stay.

    Chris2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and tasteful cottage. Kitchen had everything for meal preparation.

    Karen2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Bernadette for a wonderful stay! Bernadette's cottage was wonderfully appointed with all of the required amenities, as well as special touches of fresh flowers, eggs from her chooks, a well stocked pantry, bathroom supplies and fireplace. I surprised my mum for her 60th with a trip to S'thorpe and tickets to the Johnny Cash Festival. Bernadette's place is located really centrally to the town, and was perfect for the three generations of my family to stay together, very comfortably, in the one house.

    Elizabeth2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house was spacious but cosy. It had everything we needed and more. Loved the log fire. Bernadette was a gracious host who welcomed us with fresh local bread and eggs from her own chickens. We felt very much at home and would stay again if in the area.

    Teresa2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I went out to Stanthorpe for a long weekend and are so glad we found Carrig Cottage. Bernadette was a lovely host, and her place was amazing. The little touches like the fresh loaf of sour dough, fresh eggs, a bottle of milk, and the little soaps in the bathroom just made this stay even more special for us. The kitchen has the essentials like salt, pepper, and oil so you don't need to bring or buy your own. The place has such character and is so quaint. We sat out on a balcony with our cheese and wine and enjoyed the breeze. The neighbourhood is very quiet. Unfortunately it didn't get cold enough for us to be able to have a fire - but we will definitely be back so hopefully we can then. I would definitely stay here again, such a beautiful little place.

    Nicole2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Without a doubt, one of the best AirBnBs I have stayed at. Comfortable, clean, close to bars and restaurants...Bernadette and her sister, Siobhan were so hospitable....sourdough bread, fire alight and flowers on arrival. Thanks Bernadette.

    Angela2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here over the weekend with my partner and another couple. We were greeted by Bernadette upon arrival who was incredibly welcoming and had the fire going. The property was well presented and offered plenty of charm. Everything that we could have possibly needed was thought of and provided. It goes without saying that our favourite room to hang out was by the fire. A short walk into town also was great. We would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone wanting a fantastic stay in Stanthorpe.

We are sorrounded by forest, eucaliptus trees and pines. We are also very dedicated to grow our own food so there is always a meal ready with locally grown organic vegies.
  • It is so...interesting to stay in a caravan for two nights. The dog is so...lovely which makes me plan to get one. You will feel you are welcomed for her looking and she is chasing you to play with her all the time, which is very funny. The lady, Mat, who is looking after the place is very nice, friendly and helpful. I really appreciate it that she taught me how to make a fire and gave me a map before I drove to a national park.
