  • An excellent place to stay for a quiet relaxing weekend when we were in the area. Everything is so clean, comfortable and cosy. The bathroom and toilet are downstairs while the rest of the space is upstairs, but a light up torch is provided for the night time. Excellent communication with Abi, and getting in was easy with the key safe.

  • A lovely and cosy cottage with the lounge/kitchen and bedroom upstairs. A beautiful large orchard garden with seating and barbecue. The kitchen offers all you need and to greet us Mandi left a welcome basket with goodies. Thank you so much Mandi. Access is easy via a key safe and parking is perfect just in front of the cottage. The bed is very comfy and so is the sofa in the lounge. We love the cottage and can recommend it highly.

I loved looking at all of the quirky items which were placed all around the cabin, they were a nice touch. The patio area is lovely too, I enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the evening and making pizza to cook in the pizza oven. If you want to get away from the stresses of every day life then this is the place to stay.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. A beautiful secluded spot to relax and a lovely cabin. The host was very helpful and easy to contact throughout our stay. There was information about places to eat which helped us find a lovely restaurant called the Farmers Boy Inn which had amazing pies. We would love to visit again!

  • Haven on the Hill is a fantastic getaway for people wanting a peaceful relaxing time. Andrew and Vicky were attentive to our needs and went above and beyond providing games for us to play. 9 lives the chicken was a fantastic wake up call. We will definitely be staying again!! There are lots of natural beauty spots locally to see but the view from the cabin takes some beating.

    Matthew2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely rustic getaway! The cabin was very comfortable and the views were beautiful. The pizza oven was fantastic for dinner and the Red Lion a short walk away was great for a drink. The Leaf cafe nearby has lovely food for breakfast/lunch too!

  • Our stay at Percy's Gypsy Wagon was, somehow, even better than we had expected. Despite the small size of the caravan, it was extremely well stocked, with lots of kitchenware and plenty of blankets (and a wood stove!). Andy and Vicky were kind, helpful, and attentive hosts, and Percy, Max, and the chicken were all delightful! I would highly recommend a stay here.

    Abigail2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The wagon is truly fantastic! Perfect location and the hosts are great. They went the extra mile to make my stay special - nothing was too much.

    Leanne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous cosy little spot! Exactly as described in the listing. Would recommend walking to the forest bakehouse for lunch!

    Xannie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning, peacefully, tranquil, surreal, chilled, nostalgic I mean their would be so many ways to describe this place all of them good, thank you for allowing us to stay, it was brilliant.

    Stuart2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely unique place to stay to unwind and spend some time away . Communication with the hosts was great and thanks for recommending the farmers boy for dinner! X

    Stephanie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect cosy and unusual escape from modern life!

    Sue2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I enjoyed the most splendid three nights at the wagon (we gathered form the reviews that one night only would not suffice). It was great to settle in and get comfortable in the space. We loved how it felt only a few degrees off from camping; it was rustic but cozy and we made do in the small but cleverly-set up space. The adjacent outhouse was adorable and we loved the quirky decor. Andy and Vicky were the best hosts with whom I've ever had the pleasure of staying in my years of using Airbnb; they were present and helpful, offering great tips, taking our dishes to wash, and keeping our water jugs filled. Defiantly plan to book with them again and would highly recommend to others. One thing I will say is that the wagon may be a bit tight for taller guests; the bed, which spans the width of the wagon, fit my friend and me but we're on the shorter side; not sure my husband would have been quite as comfortable, so something to consider when deciding to book.

    Heather2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely night away in Percys wagon. The wagon itself is beautifully decorated, and outside all lit up at night it looks magical! Loved the animals, my partner was very sad to have to say goodbye to Percy the donkey!

  • Great modern town house only 10 minute walk from the train station. Good host communication. Would definitely stay there again.

    David2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Neat, clean and comfortable stay. Although I missed the hosts due to my timings, everything was clearly explained before I arrived. I stayed here on a business trip. Parking is on street- it may be difficult to find parking after hours and this was the only difficulty I had. Andy and Sue were responsive to my needs, and thoughtful touches like a hot water bottle and tea/ coffee in the room was appreciated. Bed is cosy and duvet if soft and comfortable. There is a shared bathroom, but it’s clean and in good working condition. Breakfast is laid out on the table in the kitchen. The pet lives in the kitchen, but he is a very friendly dog. All in all a very good stay and I will stay here again when in Gloucester.

    Reshma2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • So good, I stayed again! Lovely place close to town. Convenient for a couple of pubs and restaurants. House is spotless but also v cosy. I would highly recommend.

Hideaway Shepherd Hut is situated on top of an old cider orchard in the heart of the Gloucestershire country side with views of The Malverns and May Hill. The beautiful Forest of Dean is also a twenty minute drive away. The location is completely private, ideal for visitors looking for a place to relax, unwind and enjoy a cosy, romantic break.
The Shepherd hut is well appointed with all the luxuries including a comfy king size bed and a state of the art bathroom with its unique double sized power shower, complete with radio. There is plenty of hot water, fluffy towels, soaps, shampoo and body cream along with fresh linen and a hairdryer for your use. The Hideaway Shepherd Hut is warm and toasty in the winter months being fitted with both a radiator and a wood burner. The wood burner is seriously effective and easy to use adding to an already romantic feel. If you fancy cooking on top or in the oven of the wood burner, have a go!!! This works very efficiently. The Wood and kindling are included. A microwave is also on hand for your convenience. The fridge will have your fresh milk waiting, along with complimentary tea and coffee. There is a flat screen TV, with plenty of channels to choose from. A docking station is available that you can plug your devices into and also plenty of electrical sockets. Attached to the Shepherd hut is a huge veranda, where you can sit and enjoy the breath taking views and idyllic surroundings. There is plenty of wildlife to watch, foxes, rabbits, monk jack deer and a variety of birds with a well-stocked bird table right outside the window. Our horses, from time to time like to make themselves known which are friendly but not intrusive. For the summer months there is a BBQ and fire pit with lots of comfortable outdoor seating. Fresh meat and produce can be provided from the local farm shop at an extra cost prior to arrival. For your use is a lockable shed where you can store your mountain bikes etc. Space can be provided for a tent, but we do require advance notice.
The Hideaway Hut is situated at the top of an old cider orchard on the edge of Highnam Woods, parts of the RSPB Nature reserve, with footpaths and bridleways from the door to explore. The historical city of Gloucester is 5 miles away, famous for the beautiful Cathedral which was used for the Harry Potter Movies, the historical docks are perfect for a wander along the river with plenty of restaurants to choose from. There are also plenty of country pubs in the area to choose from, many of them along the river Severn. The market town of Newent is 6 miles away where you can get all your supplies, including local produce. All within 30 mins drive you can be in the beautiful Cotswolds, picturesque forest of dean or up in the Malvern Hills, plenty to explore. The nearest train station is at Gloucester.
  • Gorgeous surroundings, and extremely cozy and comfortable hut. Gillie was quick to respond to any queries and offer help, but the amenities are such that I was able to cook and clean etc. without any hassle. I don't drive but found it easy to get to and from Gloucester via bus, which stops at the top of the road about 10 mins walk away. Can't overstate how great it is for walking. Already planning my next stay

    Robert2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Super hosts Gillie & Libby. Beautiful location and superb accomodation. Extremely cosy and quiet. Exactly what we wanted. Highly likely we will return again in the future (as have others, according to the numerous delighted & returning customers in the guest book).

    Steve2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a find- although we don’t live too far away the total peace and quiet was amazing- a real hide away! We received a very warm welcome from Libby. Breakfast was delivered right on the pre arranged time, a real treat! 100% would recommend a stay here...

    Nina2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gillie was fantastic host with great local knowledge. The Hideaway Hut is a tranquil, cosy place. Beautiful area, lots of wildlife and perfect for long walks in the countryside. Highly recommend

  • Spent 2 relaxing days working and resting at the hideaway hut. Clean, peaceful, comfortable and secluded. Perfect

    John2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect for escaping from the world - secluded with stunning views and surrounded by wildlife. The shepherds hut itself is incredible - the attention to detail is evident throughout. Gillie is a fabulous host, very friendly and on hand if you need anything but not imposing. We had a very special weekend here and will definitely be back! I dare you to not fall in love with this place! Thank you so much Gillie x

    Chelle2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t say enough good things about this little find... seriously stunning and private location. The hut is well equipped - we even made muscles and frites on/in the wood burner as there is an stove/oven like space. It was fun doing tea “bear grylls style” as Robbie called it upon check in. The kettle, toaster and microwave were helpful too of course. Beautiful fire. We felt really cosy and warm the whole time - although tip ;) bring your slippers for the wooden and tiled flooring. We enjoyed lovely walks at May Hill close by and also just behind the hut itself so you can have a car free break! A real treat to rest and relax. Reading or watching a movie. Lovely touches throughout - Gillie and Robbie are delightful hosts! We’re looking for dates for our next visit :)

    Jasmine2019-12-01T00:00:00Z

  • Heather's place is very cozy to stay in. Unfortunately me and my boyfriend came very late in the evening and we went straight to bed so we didn't have an opportunity to have a chat with Heather. She kindly left a key for us in the key box and wrote all information we needed to know. The bed was very comfortable. There was a sweet cat Lana. We saw Heather in the morning before we left. It was shame we didn't have time for longer chat with her. Highly recommended! :)

Tibberton Cottage is a newly refurbished two bedroom holiday let set in its own private orchard garden. The cottage offers guests the best of both: it is located in peaceful countryside in the Forest of Dean, but benefits from the cathedral City of Gloucester being just 10 minutes drive away. The cottage has spacious king & twin bedrooms, a comfortable sitting room with glorious views, a well equipped kitchen & a private orchard garden, making it ideally suited for couples & families alike.
The spacious two bedroom cottage is a 19th Century former barn and bakery which we have recently refurbished to an excellent standard for first opening in 2018. Attached as an annex to our family home, but entirely self-contained & private, the cottage is arranged to enable you to make the most of the glorious Gloucestershire countryside views: the sunsets are particularly special! Inside The ground floor has an entrance hallway and a generously sized and well equipped kitchen featuring a dishwasher, electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge (with freezer compartment and extra freezer space available in the bike store), along with a dining table and four chairs. As keen cooks ourselves, we have equipped the kitchen as we would our own home so you should find whatever you need for your stay. The sitting room is located in the centre of the first floor so you can enjoy watching hares in the fields or buzzards circling. There is a sofa and two armchairs, a 37" HD-TV, a well stocked bookcase and selection of board games, jigsaws and toys for all ages to enjoy. There is also information about local activities, attractions and walking routes that can help you make the most of your stay. The main bedroom has dual-aspect countryside views and is furnished with a king-size double bed. The twin room, at the other end of the cottage, has two full sized single beds and views out across the fields. Both rooms have luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, are spacious and have plenty of space for storing and hanging clothes. A travel cot can be provided for either room. The shower room has a large shower with continuous hot water, toilet and basin. Egyptian cotton towels are provided for use during your stay. Please let us know if you would like to borrow a baby bath. The cottage has free WiFi internet access. The cottage is family friendly; stairgates, a high chair, cupboard catches and plastic cutlery and crockery are available as standard in the cottage. On request, we can also provide a travel cot and baby bath. Outside Outside, guests have exclusive use of the orchard garden, with deck chairs and a dining table and four chairs. A barbecue and a selection of garden games are also provided: ideal for relaxing on a summer's evening. For walking/cycling enthusiasts who wish to take advantage of the excellent location, guests also have access to a separate drying room, shared with the owners, complete with washing machine, tumble dryer, hanging space and boot rack. We also offer secure bike storage. There is a parking space immediately adjacent to the cottage, and further free parking on the shared driveway is available. Additional freezer space is also available in the bike store. No pets are allowed at the property (assistance dogs are welcome). All areas, indoor and out, are strictly no smoking. *Discounts are applied for bookings of 7 or more nights!* Accessibility We have written a comprehensive Accessibility Guide that we can share on request. Unfortunately, as both bedrooms, and toilet and washing facilities are on the first floor, the cottage may not be suitable for all guests with limited mobility. However, we endeavour to make all our guests feel welcome, so please do get in touch to discuss any particular requirements or questions you may have. Guests should be aware that, since this is a converted 19th Century building, some of the doorways are only 1.8m (~6 feet) high.
The countryside cottage is located in Tibberton, a small peaceful village in the Forest of Dean that sits mid-way between the pretty market town of Newent and the cathedral City of Gloucester. Outdoor Activities Perfect for walkers and cyclists, the cottage sits in open countryside; there is a myriad of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes right on the doorstep. A cycling route popular with cycling clubs directly passes the property, and The Wysis Way and Three Choirs Way pass just a few hundred metres from the cottage door. Additionally, the cottage offers an ideal base from which to explore the local area as it is centrally located between the Forest of Dean, Cotswolds, Malvern Hills and Wye Valley, all are known for their stunning views, wildlife and range of outdoor activity options and are within 15 miles of the cottage. Shopping & Dining Out The City of Gloucester, only 10 mins drive away, with its newly redeveloped historic docks offers a range of cafes, bars and restaurants and outlet shopping in the Gloucester Quays. The regency spa town of Cheltenham, renowned for its shopping, theatre and festivals, is just a 20 minute drive. Tewkesbury, Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye can all be reached within a 30 minute drive. The area benefits from a wide selection of good country pubs, cafes and restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a pub lunch stop on a country walk, a cafe with toddler play space, or special evening dining experience, we would be delighted to make recommendations to guests. Guest Recommendations We maintain a visitor file in the cottage full of local activity information, route ideas and recommendations from previous guests. Please do get in touch if we can help in any way.

  • Lovely two bed cottage, beautifully clean, nice flow to the accommodation and stunning views of the countryside all around. Katie was always quick to respond to all communication and super helpful on local knowledge for good places to eat out.

  • This is one of the best Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in, with a lovely host. Clean, spacious and well designed annexe so you feel ‘on holiday’ happily. Several touches of apple juice/milk etc were very welcome when we arrived at 8pm on Friday. A list of brilliant walks and a real get away from it. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all.

    Liz2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tibberton Cottage is brilliantly located to access lots of different parts of the region. Katie is an excellent host who has furnished her place to a really high standard and has included lots of thoughtful touches. For example, including a Chromecast with the TV meant we could stream Netflix to watch films. We stayed with our one year old, and Katie went to great lengths to make our stay easy and relaxing - providing a high chair, cot, stair gates, toys, kids cutlery, Tupperware etc which was massively helpful and saved us bringing all those things. Access to the utility room for washing, welcome basket, parking space, BBQ, deckchairs in the garden are just some of the other amenities we really appreciated. We’d highly recommend Tibberton Cottage and will definitely be returning ourselves.

  • This is such a thoughtfully decorated cottage in a really picturesque location. There is absolutely nothing to criticize - it’s worth every one of the five stars. Really comfy beds, personal touches, lovely shared garden and stunning views into the surrounding fields. Spotlessly clean throughout, and the owners are on hand if you need them.

  • Our stay at Gail’s was excellent! The space felt very homely and made for a wonderful base to explore Gloucester and the Cotswolds from. The dogs were wonderful and the hot tub was exactly what we needed after a long drive from London. We took a rental car that was a little bigger than we expected and this was a bit tricky on the driveway. We managed fine but if you are not a confident driver this might trip you up. Other than that, all you need to know is that you will love your stay here! Book now :)

  • Beautiful location in the countryside, yet close to the lovely town of Newant. We stayed here to be close to Hartpury college, but would love to return in Summer to enjoy the cottage and it's surrounds in better weather. Elaine was an excellent host and even had croissants and jam available for us, after I had mentioned my partner was writing an exam early the following morning. The room itself is lovely and well appointed, with everything you need for a short, relaxing stay. Will hopefully be back soon!

    Alex2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

Highly recommended.

  • This farmhouse B&B really exceeded my expectations! It’s super. Directions given are excellent, and check-in instructions are super clear and photos help you find everything. Really appreciated the private entrance to the room I stayed in, saving interrupting anyone in the house if you don’t want to or it’s late. The rooms are thoughtfully & comfortably furnished, the shower is lovely and hot, fresh milk is provided in the room with tea, coffee, hot choc etc and the little jar of shortbread was a delightful addition. Breakfast is included and delicious - my eggs on sourdough were cooked to perfection, great coffee & OJ but Camilla will make you anything you fancy. Lovely farmhouse relaxed feel. If you have dogs, it’s really relaxed dog friendly environment with big open fields on the doorstep to walk in! Frank & Camilla are absolutely lovely, considerate hosts who are really friendly without being too involved, really happy for your dogs to be welcome anywhere and also do Horse Carriage rides with Cream Tea - which I’d love to try when the good old British weather finally dries out. Great hosts, great value, great location, great experience! Thanks both - hope to see you again soon x

  • A beautiful house full of character, cosiness and English country charm. The views from the nearby hill are delightful and Tilly was the most naturally attentive host. Louis the dog is a steady fellow and Hector and Hamish, the ponies did a great job of lugging us around the local countryside despite us having filled up on a hearty breakfast featuring some of the best poached eggs and granary bread I've had forever. Highly recommended.

Converted coachhouse with ancient cruck beams and a cosy woodburner. In a country village near Ross on Wye. Very restful, ideal for a couple. Open plan with mezzanine bedroom and shower room, and an extra loo downstairs. Good views. Great pub nearby. Located up May Hill where there are extensive walking opportunities - seven counties visible from the top. On edge of Forest of Dean with excellent walking/cycling routes, and canoeing on the River Wye just 20 mins away. Cheltenham races 40 mins.
Coachhouse, with woodburner (logs included), is situated in old orchard with its own private terrace.
Cliffords Mesne is the home of the International Birds of Prey centre which has daily shows in the summer months and well worth a visit. It is pretty quiet round here and only 12 minutes drive to Ross on Wye and the River Wye where you can canoe in the summer months. We are located about half way up May Hill which has great walks through woodland and extensive views from the top. Also great views of the Welsh hills from the garden.
  • Beautiful place! The hosts are very welcoming, friendly and informative. They were very thoughtful leaving milk, tea, coffee and bread for us on arrival which was much appreciated after a long drive. The cottage its self is in the hosts beautiful garden, for which I was a bit apprehensive that we would be over looked or monitored but I did not need to worry. The cottage felt cosy and isolate, just what's needed for a much needed break for me and my partner. The cottage has a lovely wood burner and enough logs to last the long weekend with more on request. It has a small selfstanding microwave/oven/grill and 2 hob rings but we still managed to cook a large chicken and roast with it. The bed was comfortable and shower was powerful. There were more blankets and towels in the wardrobe which was a bonus for someone with long hair! Over all we cannot fault this place. Lovely warm and cosy cottage over looking lovely countryside with brilliant hosts. Thank you so very much. Sam and Dave

  • We would highly recommend this lovely place. We had a wonderful time in the peaceful country side that surrounds the cottage, exploring the Malvern Hills, Cheltenham and the local pubs! The cottage is lovely, warm and cosy with the wood burner and central heating and a lovely big bed. We had the best weekend.

  • This is a great place to chill out for a few days and recharge your batteries. Lovely cottage feel with a modern twist. Friendly hosts and beautiful country surroundings. I highly recommend this place.

  • Perfect base for exploring the local scenic areas. The cottage itself was great, everything you could need, and it was actually lovely not to have WiFi. Everything was spotlessly clean, and very well appointed, and the bed was so comfortable, I didn’t want to get out of it! Which was just as well, as we had some very heavy rain for the first few days, so we got the log burner going, and spent a lovely couple of days relaxing and reading. John and Marjanne were lovely hosts, and I would recommend the cottage as a lovely place to spend a few days.

    Roger2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • I must say that this place was much bigger than we expected. It has fantastic views, was clean inside and out. As well as it be central to what we needed we were given plenty of local knowledge to help us along. I would highly recommend it and this will be my first option if I find myself back this way. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Thank you both for a fantastic stay and we hope to visit again soon.

    Blane2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely hosts who give you helpful tips about the area and also give you your privacy. Very pretty and clean cottage with all mod cons and traditional fire which is so romantic. Incredibly beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Particularly appealing for people who will appreciate the friendly dogs!

    Claire2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Seeing the pictures we had great expectations about the place, but it exceeded them all. It's an idyllic little house in the countryside, just perfect in every way. If you are seeking for peace and beauty don't miss it. Thank you Marjanne and John, you are the best hosts.

There is a lock on the door for privacy and security. We don't always iron the linen, to help reduce our carbon footprint. So we hope you won't mind a few creases and crinkles. But you can be sure that the linen is always fresh and clean. Towels are provided. • Excellent hosts in Clive and Kaeren. Really warm and helpful. Very cute and cosy cabin - could have better water pressure in the shower but plenty of warm water and cooking pots etc. They also added really lovely holiday touches to the cabin which was super sweet. Highly recommend staying here for a quiet couples retreat or a single wanting to relax.

Communication was great, the cabin was clean tidy and warm and the setting was perfect, had cute little birdies bunnies and squirrels all around in the garden, making it a peaceful and relaxing stay. We met Clive who was so wonderfully friendly, gave us tips on the area and was really hospitable. Will absolutely keep this one on the list for many returns! Thank you :)

Spacious, clean cottage and lovely touch to find a welcome cake. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property and great hosts.

  • Don’t hesitate in your decision on where to stay when in Gloucestershire. This little piece of heaven is run by the most beautiful people who care about your stay and will go above and beyond to make your visit with them the most enjoyable time. From the little gestures of providing a fresh carrot cake to go with the provided tea/coffee as well as fresh flowers on the table to providing a cooler bag and ice packs for our packed lunch to explore the Cotswolds, Clive and Kaeren were fantastic. We really enjoyed our chats with our hosts as they were genuinely interested in making sure we were enjoying ourselves and they would go above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met! I can assure you that they will look after you too! Book this venue, now, before it’s gone, you won’t regret it. Marcel and Rose

  • Amazingly clean and comfortable hut, it had everything you needed in a compact, cosy, space. Adding the llama trekking and afternoon tea was a great addition to the stay. Lisa was warm and welcoming, as were the llamas! All the additional touches such as the hamper and the lit fire on arrival were most appreciated. Will be back soon!

  • Great location and the accommodation is a lovely little space. Made all the more special with the lovely touches Lisa and Steve added to it. The hot tub is amazing and this place has it all for a few days away exploring.

  • Lisa, Steve, Angel, Stardust and his llama friends hosted us with touching warmth, generosity and care unlike anything I've experienced in my many Airbnb stays. We were both running on empty when we staggered up to Stardust's invitingly-lit stargazing hut and we've returned rested, reconnected and feeling blessed. The thoughtfulness, effort and expense invested in the Hut and throughout the farm radiates and put our stay in a league of its own. Particular highlights included: - Lisa's flexibility re. our arrival time after a late & delayed flight - The warmth and kindness of Lisa, Steve and family - The wood-fired hot tub, to which words don't do justice :) - A delightfully delicious and generous welcome hamper - The quality & comfort of the hut (we felt like we were the first guests to have stayed there!), esp. the stargazing skylight, unfathomably comfortable mattress & - Exceptionally responsive and helpful communication - The morning views and nighttime quiet - Walking the River Wye at Symonds Yat - Nepalese / Gurkha dinner at the Roadmaker Inn The only improvement that comes to mind would be provision of a cafetiere, though I can understand it might be a hassle given they can be easy to break. And the establishment of a twinned site nearer to us! We hope to return soon and I'll be recommending the hut to any friends who need a deeply relaxing break or are feeling lack of llamas in their lives :) Our wholehearted thanks to you Lisa, Steve, Angel, Stardust.

  • Having been to a fair amount of Air BnBs, I can confidently say that this was by far my best experience. The accommodation exceeded my expectations - luxury in a cosy hut that left us wanting for nothing, and mesmerised us to sleep stargazing through the rooftop window. In addition, the thoughtful touches of a pizza oven and Scandinavian bath tub outside made for even more humourous and romantic memories. The icing on the cake has to be Lisa, Steve and their family. We were met with such welcoming and friendly hospitality, and not to mention the hamper on arrival, including home baked cakes, farm laid eggs and a bottle of prosecco to top it off! We also booked their llama experience on one of our days, which took us on a tour of the farm, learning about these majestic and beautiful creatures, before taking one of our choice on a walk across fields and through some woods. It was then topped off with afternoon tea which, you guessed it, was delicious. If you're after a couple of days away from the hustle and bustle of city life or want something romantic, I couldn't recommend them more.

  • Beautiful place to stay and great hosts. Lovely thoughtful hamper on arrival. Pizza oven and hot tub really add to the experience. Llama walking experience was fantastic getting to meet all the llamas individually prior to the walk and you can see the llamas and pigs easily from the hut. Will definitely be back. Thank you Lisa and Steve

  • This was a fantastic long weekend away. We absolutely loved this Sheperd’s hut. The thoughtful touches, stargazing and llamas were wonderful. We have already recommended it to others and hope to return ourselves in a warmer season. Thank you Lisa and Steve.

  • We had a wonderful time in Lisa's Shepherd's Hut. Inside was cosy and comfortable - and comes with a surprisingly large table for a small space, which was good for board games! The wood burning stove kept us very toasty in December, and lying under the stars in bed felt very special. The view outside was lovely, rolling fields, but still felt private and secluded. And we really enjoyed meeting the pigs and llamas! Lisa was a great host and answered any questions we had quickly and helpfully. Thank you!

  • An amazing room. This was the first time using Airbnb and was very surprised how professional it is. Had a great room and was thoroughly surprised. When back in town I'll be giving Jo a ring as a first choice stay.

  • I'll definitely stay there again if I travel around this area.

  • Jo is a super host...because she is super at hosting. We felt more like friends than guests. The house had a lovely feel to it, with some original features eg old doors. The room was lovely and roomy and Jo had put water as well as tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was lovely with fresh raspberries for my granola. A fridge was made available to us. The bathroom is shared, and the shower is handheld over the bath ( a super roll top bath), but not a problem. I walked to the cathedral in a little over 10 mins and the town is 5 mins further and so very close. Its also on a good bus route should you want to go to Cheltenham or further afield.

    Richard2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding value for money! This was a perfect base for us to explore the much wider area and had everything we could need for a few days stay. The lovely llamas greeting us upon arrival was a highlight. The bed was very comfortable and my son says the sofa bed was too. Had a meal at the pub at the end of the road too and were very impressed. Only real issue we had was the iron but no ironing board and trying to work the heating after a particularly cold and wet English summer day but that may well have been down to user error! Would very happily stay here again.

  • This is a wonderful little place to stay. We had not stayed in the area before but found many lovely places to visit and so many beautiful views. The cottage was so very clean and comfortable with the added touches of tea, coffee and milk. On the table was a vase of sunflowers which was such a lovely gesture. We really would like to visit again and would recommend the cottage, a 5 star cottage.

  • An enjoyable couple of days in this little place catching up with family from the Midlands. Couldn't have asked for anything more, perfect for a couple of days in the country. Highly recommended.

  • It was good.

  • Great location for Hartpury College. Small, clean and secluded cottage with a garden which will be perfect to use in summer. Plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils should you want to cook and only a short walk from a nice pub if you don’t. Bed was comfortable and heating was very efficient. Will be regularly coming up to visit our daughter at uni. If Fairfields Cottage is available we will definitely book it!

  • Fairfield Cottage is a lovely cottage in a quiet rural setting. I used it as a base for Hartpury College where I was competing and the location for that was excellent. It was a 4-5 minute drive to Hartpury College and a five minute walk from a lovely pub with good food. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, well furnished, spacious, warm and comfortable. For those staying in the summer there was a nice little patio and garden with table, chairs and a BBQ available. The house was well stocked with all the essentials tea, coffee, milk, sugar, kitchen roll, loo roll, soaps and shampoos and fresh flowers on the table. I had a very comfortable stay and would definitely return next time I am competing that way. Andy was a friendly and helpful host who replied quickly to messages and popped in to check everything was ok.
