What a Stunning home! Wonderful host! Incredible time! Exquisite Views! My family and I were celebrating a 50th birthday and wanted to find a place that would sleep 19 people comfortably. After having looked everywhere we came across Liz's beautiful home. From the word go, Liz was amazing in the way she handled our booking and answered our questions. The house is absolutely stunning and we did not have one complaint to make! Not only is the home tastefully decorated, but it is spacious and still maintains a cosy and warm environment. There is not an amenity that the house is missing- it was a home away from home and yet a holiday! The surrounding area of Flimwell and Hastings has so much to do- saying that, we could have spent a whole day walking around Liz's stunning garden and property itself. What a magical and special holiday and home. The home is unique in that it caters for people of all ages. Having stayed in many homes before, I have yet to meet a host like Liz who is genuinely a wonderful and kind person who really just wants to make your holiday the best it could be. The house was easy to find, easy to stay in and hard to leave. We received a personal welcome from John, (owners father), who went through the very informative house manual. The house was exactly as described - it was clean, modern, luxurious but was also extremely homely. There were 20 in our party - from 7 months to 87 years - and everyone had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Facilities in Merryweathers were great - a fabulous sound system, great TV, Wifi and enough DVDs for a very rainy weekend! The quality of the bedrooms, bedding and bathroom facilities were excellent. The kitchen was idiot proof, with state of the art white goods and every utensil required - it was home from home. Car parking was ample - at one point there were eight cars parked outside. Our only regret was that because of the time of year and the weather, we were unable to enjoy the fantastic garden and surrounding area. We look forward to returning during better weather. The owner, Liz couldn't have been more helpful and I would recommend a stay at Merryweathers.

Went to Merryweathers to celebrate my 50th. There were 15 of use and the house was perfect. We used the in house chef on the Friday and he is a lovely guy producing excellent food. We stayed in on the Saturday and had a party and the layout of the house was great for this. We were lucky with the weather so sat on the balcony overlooking the gardens for breakfast. All in all an excellent weekend in a great house. I highly recommend Merryweathers and Liz was an excellent host making the organisation of the weekend so much easier as responds to emails quickly and can't do enough to help.

Merryweathers is a fantastic venue for a family gathering of all ages. We were 19 at one point varying in age from 2 months to 70 years and everyone thought the place was wonderful which takes some doing. We were very lucky with the weather so could make the most of the outside space which is just as good as the pictures suggest. I thoroughly recommend this property and would definitely consider revisiting it if the appropriate occasion arises in the future.

From the moment we first met Liz and booked Merryweathers we knew that we had chosen the perfect place to hold a large party for our respective families from the UK and New Zealand. The house is absolutely fantastic. We had 17 people staying in there but because of its size and layout we all felt like we had plenty of room to ourselves. The kitchen and living room are perfect for those times when you want everyone to come together. The house has everything one needs whilst on holiday and we couldn’t fault it in the slightest. There is also an incredible garden and a spacious lawn which we took full advantage of during our stay. Then of course there is Liz; she is an incredible host who most certainly deserves her status of ‘Super Host’ She went out of her way to make our week at the house a truly memorable experience. She is so accommodating, willing to help and above all else a lovely, lovely person. We also had the pleasure of meeting her equally lovely family who also made us feel very welcome. In addition we used Merry Cuisine to cater for our event; providing us with an outstanding food and service, we would most certainly recommend them. Beautiful house and grounds which proved to be the perfect setting for hosting our small and intimate wedding reception in the garden. We hired a marquee and Liz was fantastic the whole way through, helping with any questions or queries we had and was open and honest throughout. Our guests who stayed in the house loved it and we have had nothing but amazing reviews. the photos we have of our stay are truest stunning.

Travelling In East Sussex and want a taste of the countryside? Flimwell hits the buttons. Plenty of pubs, restaurants, farm shops and delicatessens and an arboretum with an awesome cycle track close by. That is not even to get started on mine host who will bestow classic South African hospitality in the bucolic English countryside. Warm summer evenings around Shaun's barbecue facilities prove that life's classic moments are simple in their requirements, great company, good food and calming countryside surroundings. Not too sure if the neighbours agree given hilarity around the fireside.

We had a lovely 2 nights in Shaun's house. Shaun was there to welcome us on our arrival. He was there by text if we needed anything & we pretty much had the house to ourselves. The house was exceptionally clean, the bed was very comfortable & the shower was nice & powerful. We would definitely recommend this house.

Clean cottage accommodation in a rural setting. Shaun was an excellent host, always available. The friendly local pub, a five minute drive, in the village Shaun recommended was a most pleasant surprise, rubbing shoulders with heart surgeons and tree 'surgeons'. The Sheep Fold was the perfect escape for my partner and I. It's just over an hour outside London yet you feel 100 miles away. The shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We felt like we were in our own world tucked away in the woodland surrounded by wildlife. Catherine and her husband Andrew were wonderful hosts and were very welcoming. We hope to return soon for another detox from city life!

If you're looking for seclusion in nature with a hut that feels like a tiny home this is it! We couldn't believe how beautiful the woods were - and they were right on our door step. How marvellous it felt to have them all to ourselves. We had a mix of sunny and hot and rainy and cold weather for our stay but we enjoyed both equally as the hut is equipped for both. We recommend bringing all the food supplies, books, games etc that you need for your stay to make the most of the seclusion and the space. There's no need to go anywhere. It's the perfect place to just be. Catherine and her family are so warm and welcoming but left us to it after showing us the space. Our only wish was to have stayed longer.

Great place to get away as a couple, we've only encountered people when going to the shops. The space is plentiful, very clean, everything is geared for comfort. The cabin is like a miniature studio, with a great view of the woods straight out of the door. In addition, there is a fire pit (firewood provided) just outside where we've been cooking every day, although there is a hob and an oven, if you prefer. We've had a fantastic time, highly recommended!

The Shepherds Hut is a wonderfully equipped little home, it's like a little hotel. From the hot shower to the extremely well equipped kitchen it really is very well furnished. Great for exploring the local Kent countryside!

We loved our stay at Catherine's Shepherds Hut. It was calm, quiet & relaxing. We loved cooking outdoors on the fire-pit and exploring the surrounding woods! Mostly we loved sitting and reading in the peace of the countryside. The shepherds hut itself is comfortable with everything you could need for a luxurious weekend away in the country. The deer and woodpeckers were pretty awesome too!

This a really superb place, amazing location for nature lovers, or when you looking for a nice quiet relaxing weekend. The hut is so comfy for two person, and Catherine add few extra things in (scrabble, poker dice, BBQ tool set, etc. ) to have a lot to try during your stay. There is fully fitted kitchen, and bathroom, the fold out bed is actually really comfortable too. The hut is recycling, energy saver and organic friendly. We do not meet to much with are host, but to be honest we wanted to get away from people for a few days, so it was really good, and I am sure they could help us with anything when we ask for. I am definitely going to miss the rabbits running around the fields.

Sheep Fold provided everything we wanted, and more, and Catherine was a lovely host. She met us outside her home and her daughter helped us with our bags down through the field to the hut. Catherine had warned us to wear wellies or sensible shoes, which I would echo as the ground was a little uneven with some thistles. The hut was beautiful, completely private and secluded. Everything you could need is provided, and very high quality. Be careful not to take too much, as storage is understandably limited. We had had a lovely time watching the wildlife, including deer who wandered out of the woods. Of an evening we toasted marshmallows over the fire pit using using the using the generous wood pile provided. Perfect.

Very clean and well appointed with a great bed (one of the most comfortable we have ever had) and a good shower etc etc. Monica was a great host and very responsive. We had a fantastic bike ride around Bewl Water. This apartment is in a beautiful part of the world.

Monica was a lovely host making us feel very welcome and fixing any issues that arose. The property is a very cosy and well-equipped cottage with everything we could have wanted. There are some great walks very close by and the countryside is really beautiful around this area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Garden Cottage.

We had a fantastic stay at Monica's cottage. The cottage had everything we needed, with both a comfy bedroom and sofa bed and the world's best giant blanket. The kitchen was very well-equipped, a good shower, and everything is clean and tidy. There is also a good selection of DVDs and board games for a winter night in. The views are brilliant and there's a great pub about a 3 minute walk away. Overall - it was just what we were looking for, to spend NYE inside with a couple of friends completely relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay at Jon's - the lodge we stayed in was newly renovated, beautifully decorated and had everything you'd need. Neither of the bedrooms are very big, but that doesn't matter when the living space is so big and it was perfect for 2 couples and a couple of young children. There are also beautiful gardens and a farm to explore; our children really liked seeing the sheep and pony. The communication with Jon beforehand was great and he was very accommodating with us arriving late due to the time of our flight. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a lovely two night stay with Jon and Nina who were both very welcoming to us. They have done a great job restoring their property and incorporating some wondering period features. The location was perfect for us to visit nearby attractions including Chapel Down Winery, Camber Sands & Rye and various other nearby farm shops. Jon advised in advance on several nearby pubs which he recommended for dinner and also local walks. With a few tweaks this will be true luxury. The single beds are not standard singles and are extremely narrow, making for a disrupted night sleep. Small things like low ply toilet roll and not being allowed glass, so having to drink from plastic wine glasses and no wifi meant that this didn't really hit the "luxury" price point we thought this was being marketed at. I would suggest bringing your 4x4 if you have one because the road to the property is a track and not evenly level, otherwise go very slowly if you have a small city car like us! We loved the extra touches of croissants in the morning and Ren bath products, but felt that these were ancillary to these other things.

What a enchanting woodland setting! A beautiful oak barn in the quietest woodland I've ever been in, with deer and birdsong all around. The barn is beautiful, and Faye was there to welcome us. With chickens in the garden and views through the trees, it was a heavenly relaxing place to spend a weekend, thank you.

Faye and Simon were brilliant, great communication before we arrived and very very helpful. Simon was an absolute star and dropped us off at a wedding we were attending, helped us with taxi's, made us some great breakfast the next morning and dropped us off at the train station - 5* service which I was not expecting but was very grateful for!

Faye was extremely accommodating. She picked us up from the train station which was only a few minutes in the car from her house which was really helpful as we were in a rush to get to a wedding. We booked a cab to collect us from Fayes and they found the drive way easier than we had expected in such a rural environment. The next day Faye's partner very kindly offered to cook us breakfast and drive us back to the station. Excellent Hosts!

I had a great stay here over New Year's eve with my wife and son. Faye and Simon were very warm and welcoming. The location is really nice - the barn itself is well away from any public road, so it's very quiet and private. It's also very close to lots of beautiful and interesting places. Highly recommend this place!

Sadly we didn't get to meet Faye but Simon was very accommodating and friendly. He's very easy going and helped us feel at home, as well as giving us some great advise about local amenities. It was fantastic having some top notch eggs for breakfast laid by their very own hens. Collin the karate kicking cockerel was also very entertaining. This is a great country stop off with plenty of wildlife to look out for ( we saw deer leaping across the path on arrival). Would recommend!

Faye and Simon were great hosts! We never met Faye face to face but really quick response when I texted her. We were 2 young couples staying and we all really enjoyed our stay. The house really is set in an enchanted forest with wildlife surrounding you (chickens and ducks in the garden!). We weren't expecting breakfast which was also a bonus! The blackberry curd, delicious bread and fresh eggs were a lot more than we could have asked for. The rooms were very clean and nice, really comfy beds and nicely decorated. The house is well located if you want to explore the coast or just go for nice walks in the country side. The closest train station is 40mins walk so if you don't have a car you may feel a bit stuck. Absolutely lovely stay and would love to come back!

Maria is a lovely lady, and is thoughtful. We took our 21 months old daughter with us and Maria had gone out and provided some fruit shoots in the fridge for her. The hut is bigger than the photos and has ample space. Log fire was nice in the evenings, we got to watch the horses train one morning. Perfect retreat to relax. We're be looking to Stay again.

Great place and Maria is an amazing host. The place is next to a small horse training centre, far enough not to be noisy and close enough to enjoy seeing the horses running. Such a unique experience! The hut is as a size of small apartment and the kitchen has some basic appliances for cooking. It is very nicely decorated and very relaxing after a long hiking day. Louise's beautiful house sit atop a hill, overlooking meadows and forests, truly a breathtaking sight. Indeed there is lots to do in the area, beautiful cycle rides and castles visits. We very much enjoyed Louise's hospitality, the amazing breakfast, her tips to visit her countryside.... we cant wait to come back!

We had a wonderful time at the Pheasant Roost. Stayed with my husband, 16 month old daughter, and my parents (who stayed in the open plan lounge section). Sarah had put together the two singles to create a giant double, which was really thoughtful. And there were loads of toys and books for Wren to play with. Ticehurst is such a beautiful village with great pubs, and we spent lots of time outside cycling around Bewl water. Would highly recommend Kings Johns Nursery for coffee, cake, brilliant views, flowers and chickens. The stay would have been perfect but did lose just one star because of a couple minor things, such as the flat not having a kitchen sink (meaning washing up in a bowl or in the bathroom) and also we had a power cut which lasted some hours (although Sarah was kind enough to bring us plenty of lamps and candles).

A really pretty, comfortable place to stay within beautiful grounds. We had such a nice time and our 2 year old loved it.

We had a wonderful stay in the spacious and well-equipped house. Enjoyed the silence (zero traffic sounds, only the birds and the wind in the trees), and the walks in the beautiful environment, with great views. And cooking was a real pleasure in the fully-equipped kitchen.

Great place to stay and explore Sussex. Very quiet and secluded if you want a few days away to relax. Local towns have some nice pubs to visit and a good local walk too. Caroline was a great host, giving us a warm welcome when we arrived.

The Barn is a little house with enough space and comfort to stay for a long while. Caroline is a warm person who knows how to receive her guests in a way they feel welcome. The house is situated in a rural area but in the village nearby you can find a little supermarket and a few pub's where you can have a good meal. We will certainly return when we are in the neighbourhood.

We had a wonderful stay at Battenhurst Barn. It was in a nice peaceful location, with good walking on footpaths that start right from the door. Stacks of space for two of us, and ideal facilities with spacious living area/lounge and well equipped kitchen. The only downside was not staying for longer!

A delightful location in a converted barn in rural England. It was just what we were looking for in a spot close to visit Sissinghurst castle and gardens (about 30 mins by car) Caroline was a delightful host and provided everything we needed. In a relaxed and beautiful spot. Highly recommended.

Garry and Jennifer's place located near Stonegate was great spot for us to rest during our cycling trip. The house is very clean and well appointed. Everything advertised will exceed your expectations especially the comfortable bed and beautiful breakfast. More importantly, the hosts are very kind and accommodating. I came to Kent for my friend's beautiful wedding and staying at Gary and Jenny's was as if I was invited to stay with the couple's family. They made me feel very welcome in their lovely cottage and I enjoyed getting to know them over a cup of tea in their tranquil garden. The neighbourhood is very quiet apart from the odd horse going by and I felt very relaxed and 'at home'. My room was lovely, spacious and I slept very comfortable in my bed. There is also a great book selection in the room. Gary and Jenny go the extra mile as hosts and are very knowledgeable about the area and I could have gone to many places if I didn't have plans already. Gary does a mean fry-up, too - that is if you're not a cereal type of person although there was plenty of choice alongside delicious home grown strawberries! I highly recommend staying with them if you want to visit Kent for a while and need somewhere warm and welcoming to stay.

Jenny and Garry made us feel very welcome in their delightful little cottage. We were able to sit outside on their swinging seat when we first arrived and enjoy the pretty garden whilst getting to know them. The accommodation was as described with a very comfy king sized bed, luxurious towels and plenty of hot water. We had a pleasant stroll to the quiet little village during the evening. Our breakfast requests were well catered for and we enjoyed sitting in the attractive conservatory to eat. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone seeking a tranquil setting and friendly hosts.

Garry made me feel very welcome on arrival and throughout my stay. The description of the property was very accurate and the neighbourhood was delightful and very quiet. The room was very comfortable and everything was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was delicious, including cereal, full English breakfast and toast and home-made strawberry jam. And the cafetiere of coffee hit the spot. I would have no hesitation in giving Garry a 100% recommendation, and if I'm ever in the area again I won't be looking for another place to stay - delightful.

We had a lovely stay with Gary and his wife - the cottage is very pretty and our room was very comfortable. They made us feel very welcome and we had delicious tea and cake when we arrived and then breakfast the following day. The cottage is well located for visiting gardens such as Perch Hill and Sissinghurst.

Garry and Jenny are great hosts – welcoming me with tea and homemade cake! Their home is full of character and in a quiet location but not far from the A21. The bedroom was compact but very comfortable and a good night’s sleep was followed by a delicious cooked breakfast in the morning. I would definitely recommend staying with Garry and Jenny.

This is a fantastic location for groups of family and friends getting together. Be warned you don't have the whole property to yourselves however, there are a number of people around in parts of the house and one who lives in the attic. They even smoked in the house which could be smelled throughout most of the property. Beds and couches are dirty and uncomfortable but there are plenty of plates, knives, forks etc for large groups. Lovely grounds although the pool is not heated and was dirty. Overall a stunning place to stay but the inside lets the grand exterior down sadly.

This is a really special place to stay! The bedroom and bathroom are beautiful and really comfortable. The walks at the back of the b&b are fantastic as is the choice of local pubs. At the same time, our hosts made sure we had plenty of peace and privacy to rest from our travels. The accommodation itself is elegant, comfortable, and fascinating--each tasteful element of its design seems to have a story behind it! Though the bedroom is typically set up as a double, the addition of a second double bed made the space perfect for the three of us. We especially enjoyed the breakfast table overlooking a lovely garden through wisteria vines, the stove-style heater, the colorful ceramic sink and giant tiled bathtub, and the heavenly rain shower head. Highly recommended!

We spent 2 nights at the beautiful Old Court House and it was an absolute treat. The house and garden are exactly as shown in the pictures and Julie is the most wonderful host and cook (breakfasts are included and amazing).
