Parks & nature in Tooele County

Park
“Antelope Island is an area of 42 square miles in the Great Salt Lake that can be driven to via a 7.2 mile causeway. Buffalo Point and White Rock Bay are 2 of the more scenic areas where the mountains and hills overlook the water and beaches. Hiking and biking are popular activities as well as viewing the resident bison and all the birding your heart could desire. Want to feel weightless? The Great Salt Lake has a higher concentrate of salt than the ocean, which allows you to float in it. Bridger Bay is the best place for this. If you go for a swim, there are freshwater showers available for rinsing off. Kayaks are available to rent at the marina during the summer.”

“The Great Salt Lake is the largest, salty inland lake in the USA. If you are adventurous you can float on the water without sinking. Take your sunscreen.”
