Local amenities include doctors, chemist. Asda is about 15 mins walk. There is also amusement parks and local fun fairs which is always well attended.
  • House is lovely and comfortable. It was clean and well equipped. The area around was tad bit run down. But good location to explore the area further out.

  • My family and I had a great stay at Barbara's place. The house is comfortable and located at a family-friendly holiday town and we saw many caravan parks in the area. This was a convenient location for us to get to Conwy and continue our drive down the A470.

    Ummu2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying at the house, very spacious and clean and good communication from Barbara throughout our stay.

  • Great stay, very homely and comfortable. Very clean and tidy. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is going for a while or even a quick getaway as it's not far from the main places such as Llandudno and snowdonia. The host Barbara was very polite and showed great communication in getting everything sorted. Thank u

    Usman2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house had lots of space which was great for us and the location was perfect, close to the fun family fair rides and places to eat. What was also great was the bus stops being so close, so it was a quick and easy ride into Rhyl for the day.

    Phillip2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, great location, and an even better host. I think the wifi could do with an upgrade especially since it seems reception is not the greatest in the area, we weren't able to stream videos or do much else. Not a super big deal since we were out most of the time. The bathroom aesthetically is good but needs a bit of work for it all to be great. With those two exceptions, the house was honestly perhaps the best place I have stayed in with Airbnb and Barbara honestly was the sweetest.

    Modinat2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent host, with a great property, with great links to the majority of places. Communication and organisation from Barbara was excellent, we had no problems at all. A great standard of cleanliness. No complaints at all, hope to be back soon .

    Paul2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • It is a good location, convenient for a family with kids. Barbara was very helpful and the house was well organised. We had good time and will visit again.

  • Great communication. Jane was on hand to greet us and had lots of helpful advice. The house was spacious and had everything we needed. Good location to visit surrounding areas.

  • Jane is an amazing host. She is super friendly, with great communication skills. Her hospitality was perfect. The house has everything you need with local amenities (Asda). Jane even left us some morning breakfast which was a thoughtful touch. 5 of us comfortably spent the weekend without any issues. The powerful shower is like something you would find in a high end hotel. The garden is very spacious. The conservatory is amazing to relax in whilst reading. The kitchen is has everything you need to cook and is modern. We would defiantly visit again it's an absolute bargain at the price Jane has offered it for.

  • Lovely place to stay.

    Amber2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable accommodation with everything you might need, including some essentials kindly provided for arrival together with breakfast cereals! Very helpful host to let you in and show you round after arrival. Nice to know we could text the owner too in case of anything arising or that we wanted help with, and information requested before our stay was responded to promptly and helpfully to.

  • Property was clean and well equipped.

    nick2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jane was brilliant. Her place is described very well in her listing. It was very clean, very spacious and "light" in terms of a lot of natural light. Everything was furnished very well, and we felt it was very clean and presentable. She is a very nice host, even leaving us some eggs, a fresh loaf of bread, butter, mixed cereals, for us to have for snacks or breakfast. Even had chocolate coated biscuits, and of course coffee and tea. Had an excellent time, and am already thinking of a second visit soon!

    Shaun2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything perfect. Jane was a lovely host and the house was very clean and confortable. We would repeat if we come back to north Wales.

    Javier2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jane’s home is in a very good location to explore north wales and surrounding area. Jane is very friendly and welcoming host. The house is very clean and has everything you need for a short or longer stay. Jane’s home comes fully equipped with good quality furnishings and modern appliances and the fully functional kitchen is great as you have the flexibility to eat in or out. She provided us a lot of things for breakfast (eggs, bread, milk, butter and tea, coffee) in the fridge on our arrival, was a lovely touch. We had a great time and I highly recommend this place.

A great size kitchen big bathroom and comfy beds it was just a shame it as too warm to need the fire on as that looked fab too .lovely enclosed garden ideal for kids or dogs. Would recommend

  • Thank you for a great week in your place. The caravan was like new and very comfortable for us and our 2 boys. We were very happy with the location so close to the sea but just far enough from the more busy sites up the road, so we had peace and quiet, but were just a walk away from entertainment and places to take the kids. Would highly reccommend and even come stay again.

  • We spent 10 days in this accommodation. It is very clean and well kept and is in a quiet area. The neighborhood itself is nothing fancy but the front window of the cottage looks out onto a beautiful pasture. It has a full kitchen and a clothes washer which was helpful to us. We really enjoyed the faux wood stove which made the front room cozy in the evenings. Chris, the housekeeper is delightful and helpful.

Everything was very efficient on entry to and exit from the accommodation - fast communications and local contact was always on hand if anything extra was required.

  • Good sized two bed, off any major roads so nice and peaceful. Lovely view out the front over fields. Not much to do in the immediate vicinity, but we knew that so it wasn't a problem to us. As other reviewers have said the house is traditional with no fancy decor or gadgets. Ideal if you want to get away from it all! It is in a cul-de-sac on a small estate and took us a few minutes to figure out where it was. The instructions provided were really good though, it was just us. The housekeeper was really helpful on arrival and lives around the corner if there were any issues, which there weren't. The interior was really clean and everything you needed was was provided.

  • Tomasz was extremely welcoming, he talked us through every detail. It was great to have our own space to park our car, and then it was a couple minutes walk to the beach - perfect. Lovely hot shower and everything worked as it should. It was our first time in a caravan and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for self catering accomodation in the area.

    Mikel2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Good place but i think it shouldnt be for 8 people as it can get over crouded.. but apart from that it was great

    Asma2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tomasz is a very good host. He communicates very effectively. The place is small as one would expect in a caravan but has all the necessary items. The place was alright for 4 adults and 2 kids but may have been difficult for 8 adults. The caravan is placed at a nice location at the holiday park and one can easily walk up to the beach. Location is ideal to explore Snowdonia and nearby attractions. The ASDA superstore is quite near and a lot of food options available nearby. The pool at the holiday park was good but can get really busy on a peak day so getting in early is recommended as we had to wait for an hour to get in.

    Pankaj2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sole use of Tomasz' very comfortable mobile home. At the edge of the caravan park and right next to the sea, (couldn't actually see the sea from the park as you have to walk up the steps over the sea defenses.) The caravan was lovely and clean. The park was clean too, and peaceful. We didn't use any of the park facilities (swimming pool, disco, chip shop etc) so can't comment on them. Tomasz was very helpful before our visit and very quickly sorted out a mix-up over park registration when we arrived.

    Caroline2016-06-07T00:00:00Z

  • Tomasz was available on phone and was very helpful providing all the details required to make our stay comfortable. It's a rocky or stony beach just behind the caravan and no direct view from the caravan, however it is a short walk to the beach and my kids loved it. Caravan was clean and my kids enjoyed their time especially the use of the swimming pool. Thanks Tomasz for the beautiful accommodation.

    Solomon2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really great caravan. Fantastic shower in caravan excellent size and very warm. Large Asda just down the road 5 minutes in car which is really handy. The swimming pool was small and you get one hour. The photo makes it look as though you get a sea view from your caravan but you don't. Beach is right on your doorstep .We used it as a base and went exploring which was what we wanted.

    Ron2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great host with excellent communications and information provided. The house is amazing with great facilities (large well equipped kitchen, good bathrooms, wifi, large garden with loads for the kids and plenty of toys in the kids bedrooms too). This really is a home away from home. Friendly and helpful neighbours in a great location a short walk from the beach and local amenities but in a quiet street away from passing traffic. There is a small playpark just round the corner too. I would have no hesitation in staying here again or in recommending it to others. Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely family home.

  • Very nice stay everything we needed for a holiday . The only pain waS reversing off the drive due to the red car across the road never moving but managed it .

  • Christian's house is a proper Airbnb - a real family home, lent to us for a week. It's in a fab location, really quiet but with great access to the A55 - the main road across the top of North Wales. It's clean, spacious, really well-equipped and perfect as a holiday home, or as a proper home from home. It's just a 10-minute walk to the beach and there's a great fish and chip shop just down the road as well as all the usual cafes and shops a short drive away in Abergele. Pretty much perfect.

    Saranne2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic house this is, it's bigger than on the photos, has everything you could need and more. We had a lovely time here and the house is in a great location to visit all the surrounding area. My kids were thrilled to discover an Xbox in one of the bedrooms. I would highly recommend this property and hope to be returning again soon.

  • This is the second time we have taken this house and it is amazing. Fantastic family home, everything immaculate and brilliant facilities... Great for kids and perfect location.

Ideally located on a most beautiful part of the North Wales coast and on the doorstep of Snowdonia National Park. Just 2.5 mins to award winning beach, 2.5 mins to the popular seaside resort of Towyn, 4 mins to Rhyl and 6 mins to Bodelwyddan and the A55. There is a train station and a local bus route close by. Locally there is a good choice or bars/restaurants, a large supermarket and of course a fish and chip shop. You will always feel relaxed and comfortable during your stay here.
This is an easy going home and visitors are most welcome. Whether you are staying here for business or pleasure you will feel very relaxed and comfortable here. Some guests stay here to use it as a great base. You can then enjoy and explore our wonderful surroundings and with Snowdonia National Park on our doorstep there is always lots to do. Maybe you are here for the castles, we have plenty.......2 less than 10 minutes from here. Spending time on our award winning beach is always a favourite too, whether it be for an evening walk to watch the sunset or a full day with a picnic. Conwy is a quaint little fishing town nearby. It boasts one of the more popular castles to visit along with Britains smallest house, which is always good for a photo. Tyr Prince racecourse is about 5 minutes from here, they hold regular evening meetings and training sessions throughout the year but also have a market and carboot sale a couple of times a week for most of the year. For the thrill seekers maybe you would like to kite-surf at a local kite-surf club or maybe you would be daring enough to try out Europe's longest and fastest zipwire. These are just a couple ideas of many to tantalise you. There is something here for everyone, the young, the old and the old who think they are young.
  • We stayed two nights with Sue, which was way to short as it is a beautiful area with lots to see and do! The room is nice and clean and provided everything we needed. Moreover sue is a great host, who made sure we had everything to feel at home and provided us with lots of information for our one day trip and where to go in the area. If we come back to Wales we will stay there again

    Maike2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Once we arrived and settled in we had a little look around and it was very beautiful and clean. Everything was there that was in the description, our host was very lovely and considerate , offering helpful info & general kind personality. We also got to meet little madon her dog. Whom was very sweet well behaved and didn't bother you unless you wanted his attention. Oh and the bed is very comfortable it's like sinking softness. Enjoyed our stay, would recommend to anyone. Thank you Susan! Xo

    Coley2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was ever so friendly, so was her dog. The place is lovely and i swear i could smell the sea air in the house. The bed was so comfortable i didn't want to leave. Susan went above and beyond to help me and give advice for my onwards journey

    Emilie2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay. Susan and her utterly lovely dog Madadh made me feel totally relaxed in their home. Plenty of nice little touches around the room, and it's obvious that Sue can view things from a traveller's perspective, understanding what is needed. Above all, the bed was extremely super-comfortable. Sue was full of knowledge about the area and full of tips of places to visit. I would highly recommend a stay here.

    Andrew2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay at Sue's! We booked at the last minute, Sue responded immediately, answered all our questions, and was really flexible about our arrival time. Sue's house is lovely and she is a super laid-back host - it was great to feel able to use her kitchen to prepare our breakfast and lunch before setting off to climb Snowdon. She is very knowledgeable about the local area, friendly and approachable. The bedroom is great, cosy and comfortable, nice to have a bathroom right next door. Thanks for a fab stay!

    Laura2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • I would like to say big thanks to Susan! The place was amazing in all aspects. The communication even prior to arrival was very clear and helpful and once we were there Susan made everything to help on site and around the area. Susan gave us all sorts of tips and advice for the hikes around Snowdonia. And even more - when we were there, we always felt welcome - with nice and informal chats with coffee and tea, discussing all the things! From best places for breakfast to recommendations how to conquer Snowdon! The location is a definite winner for those who want to see a lot of Snowdonia. I believe it gives a really good start for any direction from there and we used it immensely. The house and the room we exactly as per description however none of the pictures show how welcoming the place is: with all the nice little touches, funky accessories and fresh crisp linens. There is also a little bonus - super friendly doggie full of enerdy and cuddles for those who want! I want to say again a big thanks to Susan for bringing this extra feel to our stay - we actually felt like home. I believe this makes her really great host. I would definitely stay at this place again and will certainly recommend it to anyone!

    Elena2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Susan is a perfect host. Our bedroom and bathroom were were spotlessly clean, as was the rest of her house. Highly recommended as a base for exploring North Wales.

My place is close to the train station and the beach. Not far from the A55. Glan Clwyd is 5 minutes in the car. You’ll love my place because of the location. It is ideally located as a base to exploring the whole of North Wales. Snowdon and Anglesey can be reached within an hour. Llandudno is about 15 minutes in the car. You can be in Betws-y-Coed in 45 mins. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
This is a double room at the back of the house. You will share the house with other Airbnb guests.
The house is in a residential area with mainly families.

There's plenty of storage space and chance to meet a variety of people. Please discuss with us, the details for long term arrangements. The accommodation is very convenient for Rhyl and the North Wales coast. It's within a few minutes walk to the main bus and train stations.

The 2nd flight of stairs is quite steep. A workspace is available in this room. If you come by car, for a few days, please ask for your free parking permit on arrival. This accommodation is really close to the centre of town but it is very quiet. The town centre, beach and promenade, cinema, skate board park and mini golf, are all within a 5 minute walk. The Seaquarium, bowling and the theatre are within 10 to 15 minutes walk and there is also a Leisure Centre in Rhyl. There are plenty of restaurants and bargain shopping opportunities to choose from.

  • Diana and Geoffrey were very personable and welcoming. We enjoyed having tea with them and listening to their experiences of climbing the mountains around Snowdon. We had just ridden the train to the top of the mountain that day and coincidentally so had Diana to meet up with Geoffrey who had walked up. The room looked just as depicted in the photos, the neighborhood was nice, near to town and beach and easy to find.

  • Yes, It was a very good experience. We have really enjoyed the stay at her place. However, the washroom was downstairs and my room was on the next floor. Because of our age, it became an issue. We got a bit tired after going up and down a couple of times. Overall, it was a very good experience. I recommend everyone to stay here. It is really safe, secure and pleasant experience all around. Really worth it.

  • Had s lovely stay with Diana and Geoff. Felt very welcome from the get go and they had very kindly cooked me dinner which was a great sight after a 9.5 hour journey. The room I stayed in was very comfy and their shower was very nice indeed (always good in my book). They were very nice to chat with and if I'm ever in Rhyl again I'll certainly be staying with them again. Thanks for everything guys.

  • Pavani and Phani are awesome people and their daughter is a sweetheart. I stayed at their place for two nights along with my girlfriend and we had a fantastic time. Pavani took the time to cook us Indian traditional pastry and i must say it was delicious. Every morning we were invited for breakfast but because we were on tight schedule couldn't attend. Her house is big and very clean, positioned in a very good area, close to the city center and the seaside. I totally recommend her place for a great time.

    Calin2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a pleasant stay at Pavani's house. The house was so neat and clean and very close to public transport.Pavani made us lovely Indian breakfast. Their little one Andhu and my daughter sasmi had great time playing together.

The room was very nice, warm and the bed was very comfortable. Within perfect walking distance from the seafront and just around the corner from the train station.

  • Pavani and Indra are absolutely AMAZING hosts!! We arrived to there home as strangers and left feeling like we have been lifelong friends! Their hospitality is more than we could have imagined. Their house is wonderful and literally a 2 minute walk from the train and bus station. Its a good area to be based in to then venture out and see the rest of wonderful north Wales. We so wish we could have stayed longer! We would highly recommend their place to anyone wanting a special experience in North Wales!

    Brandon & Vivo2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • I recently stayed at Pavni and Phani's house in a work related trip. Their house is a 2 minute walk to the trains station, and bus station. It is right in town close to a high street and restaurants. Even though I hardly needed a restaurant as they cooked meals for me. When I came home after work, they would always invite me for a meal. Amazing family ❤️ The house is very clean and highly maintained so. My room was private and even though they were in the house with me I hardly heard them. They have a little girl who is 3 yrs old and very well behaved. I would highly recommend staying in this house and I hope to see this family one day.

Beautiful view of Gwrych Castle, 15-20 mins walk to the sea, 20 mins drive to Snowdonia National Park and close to public transport networks. This is a designated Airbnb room with ample storage space and a comfortable double bed. It is up 2 sets of steepish stairs so be warned. Bathroom shared with guests in other Airbnb room, and we use the shower too Dogs and children welcome but neither to be left unsupervised at any time :)
The room is on the top floor of our lovely three floor red brick Victorian terraced house. From the room there are clear views of Gwrych Castle and also just to the right one can just see the sea. Though be warned the stairs are steep as the ceilings are high. We also rent another room on this floor which has a small double bed and a single bed and can be found on https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/15441095?guests=1&s=fcT_NZ5J The bathroom is on that floor. We do use the shower most mornings but otherwise it is just for guests. The beach is just 15-20 mins walk away, the castle a similar distance. Abergele&Pensarn station is just 15 mins walk and the A55 is only 3 mins drive. If it works around our schedule then we are happy to pick up from the station. Otherwise it is easy to find. For those coming by car there is safe on-street parking in Eldon Drive which is directly opposite the house
We are in an ideal location for exploring both the North Wales coast and Snowdonia as well as being a good place to take a rest before rushing to the ferry to travel to Ireland. We are close to Surf Snowdonia and other attractions. We have also just made friends with a local riding stables which twice a week have rides along the beach at a very reasonable rate. Abergele itself is a quirky place, a mix of Victorian seaside down at Pensarn, only 15 minutes walk away, and small town of Abergele itself. It is like going back in time. The pace is slower, people friendly and always time to chat. There is no cafe culture in Abergele but it is warm friendly and safe.
  • I had a lovely stay with Diane. The room is cosy and comfortable with a big window with a view of a castle in one direction and a small glimpse of the sea in another. Diane is extremely hospitable and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate recommending her place to anyone.

  • Diane and Ian are a very welcoming couple who hosted us for 2 nights. The room is larger than the pictures shows. The property has some interesting views, well presented and clean. The property is within easy access to the train station and beach. We parked on the road in front of the property with no problems. We were made to feel so welcome and enjoyed chats with both, they had many books and leaflets for the local area. They even told us about a local farm in which we could purchase some local produce. We would recommend staying with them and we may be back again to continue to explore the local area.

A double bedroom in a three bedroom house close to Rhyl town centre and all local amenities. Situated approximately 5 / 10 min walk into town centre and seafront so excellent location if you fancy exploring.
Recently redecorated double bedroom with double bedroom, the room is bright and airy and overlooks the rear garden. I would describe the house and the room as modern but still very homely.
We live in a quiet cul de sac on the edge of Rhyl town centre close to local amenities, attractions and excellent transport links. Easy access by car to the a55 wherever you wanting to travel, snowdonia for walking or Chester for shopping it's all easily accessed from here.

  • James (and Andrew) made me feel very welcome in their lovely home. The room was lovely and comfortable and warm, and their home itself is also gorgeous, spotless and welcoming. Location wise this is great and is a really short walk into town. Its also close to the theatre which was where I was performing at the time. James was a perfect host and went out of his way to be helpful and accommodating around my late night schedule. He picked me up from the theatre late at night so I didn't have to struggle with my bags, and dropped me off at the train station too. He also offered to cook me food on a few late night occasions - such a lovely man. Both James and Andy were also hugely accommodating of my little dog, and we even went out for a walk together with their own gorgeous dog Harry.

Our place is near a 13th century church and castle, the River Clwyd, the Clwydian Hills, the beaches of Rhyl and Prestatyn, and the North Wales Expressway (A55). The peaceful, historic village has several small local shops, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. The modern, ground floor annex is private, with its own front door, hall, bedroom with 2 single beds, and bathroom with a shower. It is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers.
Across the patio from the main house, our space is a modern, self contained, ground floor annex with its own entrance. It includes a hall (with a cupboard containing a hanging rail and chest of drawers for you to use), a bedroom (with 2 single beds, desks, a chair, a kettle, a small fridge, crockery and cutlery, a TV/DVD player and a selection of DVDs) and a bathroom (with a shower, sink and toilet).
Our house is an end of terraced cottage, which was built around 1850, with an annex, which was added in 2007. It is in the peaceful, historic village of Rhuddlan, close to the 13th century church and castle, the River Clwyd and a nature reserve. The North Wales Path passes very close by. The A55 North Wales Expressway, the beaches of Rhyl and Prestatyn, the Clwydian Hills (an area of outstanding natural beauty), Offa's Dyke footpath and the Wales Coast Path are a 10 minute drive away. The towns of Conwy and Llandudno can be reached in 30 minutes, and Betws y Coed and Snowdonia can be reached in about an hour, with Snowdon itself under an hour and a half away. Rhuddlan has several pubs (some of which serve food), Chinese and Indian restaurants, a few good cafes (great for breakfast or lunch) and a variety of takeaways, including a fish and chip shop. Shops include a Spar, small Co-op (at the petrol station) and a gift shop. There is a Sainsbury's supermarket nearby. We hope your trip is for a more enjoyable reason, but if you or a relative are visiting the area for treatment at Glan Clwyd Hospital, we are just a 5 minute drive or bus ride away.
  • Louisa and John were great hosts - and interesting people. We enjoyed chatting with them, and with the lovely Millie (cat). Accommodation was comfortable and private, and Rhuddlan a lovely village. Would recommend without hesitation.

  • Louisa and John were perfect hosts, lovely open and friendly. The description of the place was spot on, warm and welcoming. The neighbourhood was quite. The room was clean and fresh with tea and coffee making facilities, lots of information in the booklet about the surrounding area. I will certainly be going back .

  • Louisa and John are great hosts. Their annex was perfectly clean and comfortable and they provide some thoughtful touches to make your stay relaxing. There are good public transport links close by; plenty of eating out options and facilities provided in the accommodation if you want to bring your own food in. Towels also provided. I am going to have to return to continue reading their great selection of outdoor activity and exercise books, very inspiring!

Pen-y-Bryn (top of the hill in Welsh) Cottage is about a mile above the village of St. George. Bursting with character, it's log burner, exposed beams, shuttered windows and enclosed garden make it the perfect country retreat.
Surrounded by open fields and woodland and accessed up a private driveway, this two-bedroomed cottage really is your ideal getaway destination. Sleeping four people in one superking bed and one twin room, it boasts two bathrooms and an extra loo ("Ty Bach" or "the small house" in Welsh) in one of the outbuildings. The well-equipped kitchen looks out across pasture fields and has a dishwasher, built-in oven and hobs and a fridge, as well as all the essentials like a toaster, kettle and food processor to make sure that you can make the most of your visit. There is also a door into the enclosed courtyard, perfect for breakfast around the cafe-style painted table (weather permitting, of course!). The sitting room looks out onto the enclosed garden and has everything that you would expect - 48" flatscreen digital television, DVD player (there is a selection of DVDs from childrens TV box-sets through to classic movies for you to use), log burner (we'll even provide the logs) and board games. If the walking, hiking, cycling and beautiful beaches of North Wales don't tempt you away, you can happily spend your entire stay ensconced in the deep, comfortable sofa and armchairs here. The dining room seats six (perfect if you have friends nearby to invite for supper) around the refurbished pine table. With a sideboard, candles, placemats and napkins, it is just what is needed for either a cosy family supper or a lavish dinner to cap off your holiday. Outside, the garden is equipped with a large decking area complete with a table seating six. Entirely enclosed, you can let your dogs and children run riot without worry. A BBQ is also available for when the wonderful Welsh sunshine makes al fresco lunches a must. The outbuldings contain a washing machine, hooks for wet coats and hats, space to lock your bikes away, a log store and "Ty Bach" (see above).
The nearest village is St. George, about a mile away down a steep hill. A car is a must as the nearest shop is in Abergele or Bodelwyddan, both about three miles from the cottage. St. George has the award-winning Kinmel Arms as its local pub and is ideal for a quiet pint after a walk or a stunning three-course dinner. Otherwise, your neighbours are the flora and fauna - Pen-y-Bryn really is the secluded cottage it says on the tin. Snowdonia National Park is about 15 miles away and the glorious beaches of Pensarn, Kinmel Bay and Rhyl are a stone's throw at just five miles from the cottage.
  • What can i say?! But amazing and one of the best places i have stayed! Cottage is very secluded which we loved and was so lovely making a cup of tea watching the baby lambs and sheep outside the kitchen window! Katherine as a host is superb, communication was fantastic and so where the directions! Thanks! All the little touches you left in the cottage from eggs, milk and bottle of prosecco to the dressing gowns was really nice of you and appreciated so much!! If you are viewing this cottage and want somewhere peaceful and beautiful then you have to visit, trust me!! Thanks again Katherine and looking forward to rebookingd again! John and sharon x

  • This cottage is an absolute gem - impressively and impeccable renovated so that you feel the historical magic with all the modern comforts. The setting and garden is just gorgeous and it was an amazing escape and so conveniently located for exploring North Wales and further afield. Katherine has taken every step to make guests feel taken care of - enjoying the prosecco in the garden was the piece de resistance for us especially after a day of travel with small children. Arranging the stay and access with Katherine was effortless. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would merely build in more time to soak up the beauty of the house and environs.

    Margaret 2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Hi Katherine, thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house. Loved the surroundings. Gardens a great-uncle trap. Just wished we had booked for longer! Ross

  • Lovely get- a-way and less than 10 mins drive to the village with pubs, restaurants and take aways. Fantastic clean and exceptionally well equipped cottage. Can't recommend highly enough!

  • What an absolutely beautiful house and location. Katherine is so considerate with her little touches. We had amazing eggs this morning from her hens. The house had everything you could need. I felt privileged to stay in this amazing house.

  • A beautiful home surrounded by rolling hills. A great place for a retreat or a starting point for your visit to Wales. They say North Wales is Gods best kept secret, well this is your little slice of heaven right here. Thank you Katherine for your kindness and helpfulness in making our trip such a great one.

    Sue2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Katherine's cottage. It was really clean and had lovely welcoming touches like fresh eggs and bubbles in the fridge. Katherine is very prompt with communication and helpful. The house is spacious and inviting with super comfortable beds and immaculate white sheets. There is a lovely walled garden- ideal for us with small people running around. It was in a secluded spot but close to shops if needed and about 40mins to Snowdonia. We highly recommend!

    Lucian2017-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage, beautiful location and a perfect break. Our whole family fell in love with this cottage and spent the whole time pretending it was ours. Everything we could need and want was provided. Including eggs from Katherines hens, milk and even a bottle of fizz upon arrival for my birthday. Fantastic value for money and the cottage was so clean, it felt like it had never been lived in before. We will 100% be returning and we're already thinking of future dates we can attend. Perfect!

Mountain Lodge is situated on a hill top high above the historic Gwrych Castle, a 19th century Gothic folly in Abergele, North Wales. It is a truly unique setting surrounded by woodland and with panoramic views of the Carneddau mountain range in the Snowdonia National Park.
We have two shepherds huts (the bedrooms) with an adjacent Stable and Barn for your daytime accommodation. The shepherds hut with a door on the side sleeps 4 with a bunk bed at one end and a double bed at the other. The ‘pointed’ roof hut has a double bed and sleeps 2. Both have woodburning stoves and electrics (lights and sockets). The renovated Stable is right next to the shepherds huts and has all the facilities that you will need during your stay and is for your exclusive use. It has a heated shower room with toilet, washbasin, wood burning stove with a large top plate which you can use for cooking or heating food, large sofa, kitchen area with fridge, kettle, cutlery, utensils etc. The fridge is stocked with fresh milk, water, butter and locally produced yoghurts. A door leads from the Stable into a Barn which has an open area for you to sit and enjoy the views. The huts are available for booking all year round.
Mountain Lodge is blessed with an abundance of nature and wildlife, during the daytime you will see buzzards strolling the skies and at dusk you may see bats flying around in search of insects. A lake in the adjacent field is home to wild duck and geese and you will often hear the birds ‘chattering’ during the night. With wonderful walks in Snowdonia and great beaches in Anglesey, we are conveniently located to explore the rich scenery and heritage of North Wales. For keen cyclists there are excellent off road and road trails including the coastal cycle path which is about 2 miles away. Whatever you would like to do we can help you to make the most of your stay with us at Mountain Lodge.
  • We had an amazing stay, Penny was a wonderful host and her attention to detail is amazing. We will definitely book again! We enjoyed a lovely family walk from the shepherds huts to the old fort. Breakfast was a treat and the views are exquisite! Thank you

  • Penny was the perfect host. Such a colourful character and extremely helpful, bringing us a cooked breakfast daily and providing advice on local restaurants or things to do. The huts were absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed, from locally sourced produce and fresh Welsh cakes to board games, art materials, books and more. Penny and her husband were on hand at any time but by no means overbearing. We absolutely adored this truly beautiful spot!

    Natalie2017-03-12T00:00:00Z

  • This is a truly memorable and wonderful place to stay. A beautiful setting and and no sounds apart from the bird and animal life on the hillside. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and so welcoming. Penny is the perfect friendly and helpful hostess and I felt that nothing would be too much for her, to help make our stay as wonderful as possible. I will definitely be back.

    Angela2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you could want in a perfect location to have space and relaxing times in the countryside. Penny made us so welcome - we arrived during stormy weather and the wood burner was already lit ...nice and toasty and ready to enjoy some Welsh Tea Cakes which were also waiting for us. We had a wonderful stay, enjoying cosy time next to the wood burner ... or views across the hills with sheep wandering in the field ... or exploring the local countryside....or heading to Snowdonia ...and more besides Facilities are perfect - Penny has high standards and everything you need is at hand. Including a tasty breakfast to start the day!! We could happily have stayed for the week and will certainly be back. If you're looking for a cosy retreat then I highly recommend you book.

  • This was an absolutely brilliant place to stay. The hosts were very thoughtful, leaving milk etc so we could have a cup of tea after a long journey. The suite itself is very private, quiet, and the hosts have thought of everything you would need for a great stay. The hot tub is amazing, didn't even need to wait for it to warm up, which was perfect after a long day climbing snowdon. The hosts leave some brochures and leaflets for things to do around the area, and it's only an hours drive to snowdonia national park. The place was clean and includes all the amenities like towels and robes etc, they really have thought of everything. The suite is in a small town, close to local shops and resturants, and our hosts even recommended some restaurants to us, which were great! Can't wait to come back and explore some more.

There is a Tesco superstore for all your needs in Abergele town. For basic necessities there is a shop a 10 minute walk away (1 min drive)
  • Dawn is a lovely woman and it was such a pleasure to meet her. She went the extra mile and kitted the caravan out with absolutely anything you'd need. Fresh milk, eggs, bread, butter, cheese, biscuits- we couldn't believe our luck. This trip was for work, so we only spent the evenings in the caravan. There was no TV the first night however Dawn sorted this as quickly as she could, and the next day after work there was a television. Dawn is a truly remarkable lady who went to a lot of trouble just to make sure her guests had an enjoyable experience. I would definitely stop again if i find myself in the area. Nice comfy beds and nice comfy chairs were a nice addition.

  • A lovely host with a great place to stay! Above and beyond what we were expecting which was just a brilliant surprise. Ideal for dogs and families. Very easy to find and great views too!

    Mike2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our bank holiday weekend was spent at Dawn's caravan. The location was ideal for what we were looking for- within easy reach by car to local walks and beaches. Coastal evening walks from Penrhyn to Llandulas beach were a highlight. The caravan was clean and adequately equipped with what you'd need to cater for yourselves. We chose to grab pub lunch whilst out and about and opted for the local Indian restaurant one night in abergele which was delicious! Conwy is a lovely town fairly close by (approx 20-25 mins) as is rhos-on-sea and Llandudno. The nearest town is Abergele which has convenience stores, takeaways, a few restaurants and several pubs. We preferred to stay in the van most evenings to drink because the local town is definitely a drive away. The property itself is literally next door to the owners cottage although we saw no sign of her the entire trip so you do feel as though the field is yours. Surrounding fields are securely fenced off which was ideal for our dog. Overall our stay was okay and the weather certainly delivered!!!

    Hannah 2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We all really enjoyed our holiday and the caravan was fantastic really homely and good to get back to after a long day, the kids really liked it, we squeezed them both into the single room with one on the fold out bed and they were very cozy and happy. Lovely views a good location for everything beaches castles and mountains . We would stay again without hesitation.

    Simon2017-08-25T00:00:00Z

  • This glamping was a very nice experience. It is very affordable, the pods are in good shape and warm. There is plenty enough space for two people but not more. There was coffee, tea and milk as well as all the needed necessity. The surroundings are relaxing and quite. The only downside is the location, a bit too far from the city so a car is definitely required.

  • Unfortunately we didn't have an opportunity to meet Michael but we had great communication with him and enjoyed staying in his pod on a farm. Pod is really well equipped - we had everything we needed! It was warm, comfortable and we loved waking up in the morning and seeing animals! we would definitely reccomend this place to others

    Petra2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous place! Views are absolutely incredible-worth the price of the stay alone! Michael is a very kind and helpful host. The pod we stayed in was the double bed and it was cozy, well equipped (incfridge kettle toaster and hob) and nicely furnished. Great shower and toilet facilities. Being a ten minute drive to tescos is really handy too. Visitors should carry on up the road after sat nav says you've arrived and you'll see a sign saying farm pods. • This is a beautiful spot in the Welsh hills and you are surrounded by friendly farm animals. Great views across the estuary and very quiet. I had a lovely welcome from Bryn who showed me round and brought a pint of milk to get me started. This is a basic but comfortable pod with shared shower and bathroom facilities with the pod next door. Towels provided, which was a nice touch. Thanks to Bryn and Michael, I hope to return again.

  • A great affordable and perfect place to stay. We are a family of 4 and stayed for 1 night. The pod was very clean including the bedding. The shower block was also lovely. Some lovely little touches mean we will definitely be back. Beautiful location. Owners very friendly and communicative but unobtrusive. All in all as close to perfect as you could get.

  • We have just had a lovely overnight stay in the pod. It was immaculate as were the toilet/shower facilities. The kids loved being out in the fresh air, and were amazed by how friendly the animals were. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and it was a lovely night away, just to get away from it all. Looking forward to returning in the near future

  • We were Michaels first guests, booked the pod for one night and enjoyed our stay a lot. The pod of Michael is very cosy, our little boy loved to sleep in this 'little wooden home". The view is amazing and you are surrounded by sheeps. Its clean and complete! We would come here again.
