Holiday Rentals in Toxey

Just booked in Toxey

My 1896 circa house is a short drive to the Riley Center, a fully-restored 1889 grand opera house that recently hosted Wynton Marsalis, Vince Gill, Tony Bennett, Melissa Etheridge, Peter Frampton and others, and to restaurants, museums, historic churches and daily passenger trains running from New Orleans to Atlanta to New York. You’ll love my house's 13' ceilings, beveled glass, parquet floors, vintage mantels, and historic neighborhood easily accessible to Interstates 20 and 59.
  • I was able to meet up with Jim prior to arriving. He gave me a brief history of his family home, that added to the charm. We had a lovely stay and we would highly recommend it to others. The house has a lot of yesteryear character. We got to eat at the oldest restaurant in MS not far from the house. Jim recommended it and the food was amazing.

  • Amazing home. Beautiful place with so much more space and freedom. The house has a beautiful history as well. We enjoyed our stay and our communication with Jim!

  • Jim's home was old-world elegant and perfect for us road-weary travelers on the way to NOLA. He was also incredibly accommodating as we were short-notice guests. Highly recommend his place, wherever your destination lies.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Jim's lovely home. He was so kind as to give us a tour of the house and recommend restaurants nearby. We will definitely stay at the Halford House again the next time we travel!

  • We loved the house. The home and furniture are very beautiful. The neighborhood is very quiet and neighbors are nice.

  • Kim's place is great. Historic old house. Close to the best place to eat in town. Very comfortable bed! I would stay there again.

  • This 1896 Victorian home is fortunate to have all of the original tile on the fireplaces and beautiful hardwood parquet flooring. Under renovation and STILL the beauty is shining through. What a treasure to own his parent's old home and an old boarding house in town!! - the old doorbells remain next to the front door! The space to sleep is large and open, comfortable, and perfect!!! We all slept so good. The whole house is GRAND! Although Jim was out of town, he was easy to reach and answered any texts right away! I only wish he were in town for the whole tour! - maybe next time as I plan to stay again!

We are located in the country ,yet minutes away from great food and shopping. .
We are located on 200 Acres. Our home is located close to Summer's Place, but the home is very private.

  • Kay was the best host you could have. She helped with directions on the way and even had a welcome basket for us! The house is out of the city and perfect to relax and get away from all the noise. If you enjoy the quiet and crisp country air then this is definitely the place for you. We hated to leave so early to head back home. Would definitely stay there again!

  • Our family loved staying at this delightful farmhouse! Kay was so attentive to every detail and really helpful with directions and local recommendations for dinner. The basket of goodies and breakfast foods were greatly appreciated. We definitely want to return here when we come back to Alabama!

  • Kay was so warm and welcoming! She had a snack basket on the counter, along with eggs and butter in the refrigerator. She also brought over some delicious muffins! Fresh flowers on the table were an added touch. The place was so clean and decorated adorably. She is an excellent communicator and has a servant heart! We felt like family. She even accommodated two last minute guests by bringing more eggs and muffins. The porch swing, the views, and her two playful dogs just added to our relaxation. We even saw some deer! Would highly recommend Summer's Place! Many blessings, Kay!

  • Such a cool little place! Peaceful, clean, modern but still had it's original and historic touches all throughout. Beds are comfy, hostess was exceptional and the home is very cozy! Wish it were mine!

  • Summers Place is a beautiful place to stay. We loved the character of the historical building. Kay was a charming and welcoming host and I would recommend staying here if you are passing by this way.

  • Kay's place was just lovely! There was plenty of room for my sister and our 3 kids to spread out. We loved the front porch and the kids loved all the outdoor space to play. It was so much better than a hotel. Next time, we're in town, we will be staying at Kay's place.

    Christy2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful home and great customer service. Will be staying here again soon!

My 1896 house, in addition to the short-term suite that is described with my listing on Airbnb, includes an extended stay studio unit, with 13-foot ceilings, a private kitchenette and bathroom. It is close to downtown, restaurants, theatres, and our medical centers.
  • Jim's house is great - a historical home with neat features. The space itself is newly updated, clean, and comfortable for an extended stay. I was here on a three month assignment at the local hospital, and it was perfect! The washer/dryer is especially convenient, and the house is on a fully fenced/gated lot. Jim is responsive and helpful, available for any questions I had. For anyone needing housing in Meridian, I would recommend this home as an alternative to an extended stay hotel.

  • Jim’s place was a very pleasant stay! He gave us a tour of the whole home upon check in, the house is absolutely beautiful! He was very helpful with anything we needed and really made us feel welcomed. My wife and I stayed for about a month. The surrounding neighborhood is a little rough but we felt safe with the fenced in yard and the friendly neighbors with dogs next door. The place was well worth the money!

We enjoyed Kay's so much that this was our second trip. We live 3 hours away, but drove over for a much needed getaway. And we saw To Kill a Mockingbird in Monroeville while we were there. So peace…
