Places to stay in Trelill

Places to stay in Trelill
Escape to the beautiful wilderness of the North Cornish coast, close to Port Isaac & Polzeath. Stay in a handcrafted shepherd's hut with curved ash beams & Salamander wood burner on a converted railway line. Relax in your own private hot tub with only the local cows for company. Or explore the nearby woods, go swimming, fishing & boating on the magical freshwater lake. A perfect break for couples or a solo traveller wanting to unwind. For updates check "Free Range Escapes" on social media
The shepherd's hut is based at Cornish Tipi Holidays/Weddings also known as Tregildrans Quarry and this is our beautiful second hut at this unique site. Both huts have their own individual character, the biggest difference is that Bluebell hut has its own wood fired couples hot tub - perfect for relaxing in style in the great outdoors. The site has a woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old quarry. The hut is at the top of a secret 20 acres clothed in ferns and bluebells, oak and meadowsweet. Undisturbed by modern agrochemicals and herbicides the natural ecosystem has flourished, providing a thriving habitat for flowers and butterflies, birds and mammals. It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat. The Shepherd's Hut itself is situated in a recently reclaimed part of the site on the old railway line which was taken out in the 60's, reclaimed by nature until now! Guests will have full access to the whole site & all its faculties. 20 acres of woodland to explore and a freshwater lake to swim, boat and fish in. As well as your own secluded garden space complete with an open fire and garden furniture & couples wood fired hot tub. The shepherds hut has its own private compositing loo and wooden shower shed (made partly from pallets) both outside. You are of course allowed full access to any of the other loo/shower blocks on site. There is also electricity!! Solar powered lights & USB sockets make it easy to charge items or read a book after the sun goes down. However please be aware that there are not any standard plug sockets in the hut. The aim is to have created a space which makes you feel like you are out in nature & the elements but with more comfort than basic camping.
At Free Range Escapes you are a five minute drive from some of the prettiest villages and most spectacular coastline in Cornwall. You can buy fresh mackerel, scallops and crab in the fish cellars at Port Isaac within 10 minutes of leaving your Shepherd's Hut, go sea kayaking under soaring cliffs at Port Quin or take a surfing class on Polzeath’s trend setting shoreline. We have some phenomenal walking right on our doorstep; the Cornwall Coastal Footpath, the Saints’ Way, but unfortunately a car is still usually needed to get you there. 15 minutes up the coast brings you to Tintagel Castle and the ancient village of Boscastle, and the same distance inland lets you walk the rugged solitude of Bodmin Moor. We have a variety of good shops, pubs and restaurants in the area including the now nationally famous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow – book a return with the late water taxi across the moonlit estuary from Rock for a special evening out. You can go on fishing trips, bird watching walks, sea safaris, sailing and windsurfing courses, learn to ride, golf, play tennis, see a touring theatre production, work in watercolours, take a master class in seafood cookery, explore Cornish history, attend a music or literary festival, or just go cycling together on the beaufiful Camel Trail nearby. If you’re prepared to go a little further afield try a day trip by tiny plane to the glorious Isles of Scilly off Land’s End, or a trip to the Minack Theatre set outside on the cliffs high above Porthcurno, or closer by visit the massive biodomes of the ever popular Eden Project.
  • Gosel’s shepherd hut is beautiful! Its surrounded by woodland and is so cosy inside with a little log burner and all the amenities you may need. The hot tub is incredible, we enjoyed a night drinking wine and watching the stars! Gosel is a fab host, she welcomed us late on Friday night and helped us with our luggage. She had also lit the log burner and prepared the hot tub for our arrival. Highly recommend :)

  • Amazing glamping trip was first concerned about the toilet but it was such a cool concept and didn’t bother me at all. Beautiful surroundings and a gorgeous little cabin nice and secluded also a short trip to lovely local towns. The cabin itself was perfect and really warm considering it was very very cold and windy outside. Great stay, hope to go back in the summer. 😊😊

The Lodge is well insulated to modern standards with double glazing and a wood burner, making it a very cosy off grid bolthole in the most extremes of winter weather. Situated yards away from the River Camel nestled in Cotton Wood SSI.
The Lodge sleeps 2 - 3 adults max or two adults and 2 children up to the age of 11. Sleeping arrangements are on two levels- a ground floor level and an upper bunk level. Ground Floor can sleep 2 people, either adult or children. You have the option of two single beds which can be configured to one large double if preferred. The Upper Bunk is 4′ x 6′ in size and is able to sleep 2 children or one adult. The pitched ceiling serves as a cozy den so we do suggest this is perfect for up to two children between the ages of 6 -11 years. Access is via a ladder. Please see the Lodge pictures. Prices vary dependent on time of year. See full details on (Website hidden by Airbnb)
The nearest shop is a mile away with greater shopping and entertainment options 3 miles away along the Camel Trail in the old market town of Wadebridge. Cotton Wood is quite unique and therefore is not to everyone's taste. If you like nature, fishing, mountain biking, getting away from the crowds, or just being still for a while, Cotton Wood Lodge Hideaway could well be perfect for you! Camel Valley wines is across the valley and the Eden project is only 10miles away. • Beautiful spot and always a restorative escape!

    Jenny2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely lodge in a beautiful location. The wood is peaceful and private, and you're surrounded by nature. The lodge is cosy and comfortable, and the woodburner heats the room very effectively. We had a lovely time getting away from it all, wandering around the woods and along the river then back to snuggle up in front of the fire. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, and we'll be back again before too long!

    Ian & Rosie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Simon's place! The cabin is beautifully located right next to a stream with lots of nice walks nearby. The wood burning stove keeps the place nice and warm and you have all the basic utensils you could need for a short stay. The location is gorgeous and the stars are just beautiful on clear night. We can't wait to come and stay here again!

  • Our stay was wonderful! We really enjoyed the hot tub, Gosel helped us out with local tips, had amazing communication and was very understanding with regards to uncertainties around the pandemic. It was a great stay away

    Adam2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay in the Shepherds hut, everything was great from comms with Gosel to the actual stay. Loved the hot tub and how cosy the hut was even in horrendous weather. Highly recommend this stay!

    Richard2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great little private space for us to get away. Loved boating on the lake, and sitting in the hot tub in gale force winds! Thanks to Gosel for all the local tips too. See you again!

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Magnificent, magical, marvellous... All the M's. Words can't describe how much my husband and I loved our time away in Elderflower. Gosel, the hut, the land, the lake, the location; it all exceeded our expectations. We will most certainly be back - as soon as humanly possible. You must stay here!

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay on Valentine’s weekend. The location is perfect, with plenty of things to do around the area. We didn’t have a chance to use the lake due to the weather, however, the hot tub was an excellent addition. The home was cosy, warm and clean. We will definitely be visiting again.

    Owen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at the Shepherd’s hut! Excellent location and friendly host! Would highly recommend!

    Jamie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Gosel for being such a great host. The Elderflower hut at Free Range Escapes was idyllic and had everything we could possibly need for our New Years break. The hot tub was a great extra, which was lovely at night under the stars. The private lake with rowing boats and canoes was so much fun. The local area had great fishing villages to go and explore during the day, and then to come back to a log burner and a comfy bed was the perfect end to a perfect stay. We will definitely be back to stay again. Thanks Gosel!

Set in 3.5 acres of paradise on the edge of Bodmin moor. A crystal clear stream meanders through woods with two waterfalls, a beautiful lake and bridges. Our own pine forest and Decked bbq and hot tub area. Millpool Lodge has entrance lobby, a lounge, two bedrooms, kitchen, two toilets, shower and outside seating. Close to Eden project, Polzeath, Rock, Fowey, Cardinham Woods, Camel Bike Trail, Siblyback and Colliford Lakes Lanhydrock House, and the open moorland walks with abundent wild life .
A truly magical garden. Full of wildlife, squirrels, rabbits and goldfinches and even herons and ducks flock to the lake and stream. Two bridges and waterfalls provide calming back ground sound. You will not want to leave this little piece of paradise. There is decked bbq and hot tub area with night lighting ideal for socialising and enjoying the great views. A picnic area through the pine woods creates an ideal day time area for play and keeping fit . In the more formal part of the garden there is a fountain and night time lighting, with plenty of places to sit and enjoy an evening by the stream and lake. We like to encourage the wildlife, so we leave areas of the meadow, woods and lake free for the wild flowers to grow and encourage some of our rarer wildlife in to the garden. The Lodge has two bedrooms one double bedroom and one small bedroom with a sturdy bunk bed with comfortable mattresses. Ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. We also have a travel cot available. There is a footpath leading to Cardinham woods, and direct access to the moors. We are close also to Lanhydrock House, Colliford Lake, Siblyback Watersports Park, and Eden project and St Breward (Poldark Country). Easy access to both the south and north coast. Lovely Fowey being our nearest south coast venue, and Polzeath, Rock and Padstow on the north coast. Particular mention should be made of the excellent cycle trails from Bodmin to Padstow via Wadebridge, and also the cycle track from Bodmin up to the Moors. Cardinham and Lanhydrock woods also have amazing national cycle tails - Ideal for a family bike trip and highly recommended. We also offer a range of watersports activities. A day out on our 7.5 Jeanneau power boat visiting all the coves and beautiful waters of the Fal estuary. Wakeboarding and waterskiing, coastal kayak tour to get close to nature and visit some of our quiet and inaccessible coves. We can also advise on a complete list of activities as we are ideally placed to enjoy both north and south coast. We are right on the edge of an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The moors are exceptionally quiet and beautiful at any time of year. For getting in touch with nature and beautiful landscape it cannot be beaten. Moorland cattle and ponies mingle with Stags and Roedeer making an idyllic country scene. We are central to all areas in Cornwall being half a mile from the arterial A30. So an ideal spot for exploring wonderful Cornwall. We are always happy to offer advice to make the most of your holidays. The gardens are magnificent at any time of year, and you will find great tranquility and beauty in this wonderful garden.
We are close to the Eden Project and just 12 miles from either the north or south Cornish coast. On the edge of Bodmin Moor which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Close to Lanhydrock, Eden Project, Siblyback Lake, Colliford Lake, Camel Trail, Cardinham Wood Walking and Bike Trails, Fowey and Rock and Polzeath. There are many wonderful walks and places of historic interest to visit. We are also just half a mile from the main artery A30 which means you have easy access to the whole of Cornwall. We will leave a guide of recommended places to visit. But always check out the Conrwall Tourist Board site it has loads of information.

Stay in this hand-crafted Shepherd's hut that is hidden away in Primrose Cottage's beautiful garden. The Shepherd's hut has a toasty wood-burner, comfortable double bed and is self-contained with your own cooking facilities, ensuite bijou bathroom- complete with a shower.
This hut was made using reclaimed materials by myself and my good friend Mike. Since making this hut we have started a business together making shepherd huts called Pumphrey and Weston. In the hut there is a kitchen with single hob, wood burning stove, shower, toilet and basin. The double bee is a comfy memory foam mattress.
St Mabyn is a picturesque Cornish village, with a great pub, shop and church. It is located near to Polzeath, Tintagel, Rock, Port Issac and Padstow. The Eden Project is about a 30 minute drive.
  • This is a beautiful place to stay. Small and cosy - a perfect spot for something a little different. Great hosts and location. Highly recommend staying here!

    William2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We only had one night in the Shepherds hut but wish we could have had more! Ginny was superb at giving directions and communicating before and after our stay. The hut was so cosy especially with the log burner roaring and the wind howling outside, dreamy! The pub up the road is very welcoming too and great pub food, all dog friendly.

    Tina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is very cosy and the fairy lights along with the wood burner give it an extra magical and warm touch 😉 for those stormy days! Ginny communicated with us daily and was very thoughtful! Thank you

    Cátia2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and cosy stay with excellent facilities. Stayed here for the night before a Christening but hope to return to make use of the log burner and explore the area in better weather. Cannot ask for better hosts, excellent communication, thoughtful personal touches and helpful local tips. Really appreciated the recommendation of the local pub, great menu, atmosphere and most importantly dog friendly.

    Daisy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy retreat with everything you need for a few nights away. The hut held up really well even with storm Clara howling around. We lit the fire, toasted some crumpets and opened a bottle or two of red. Location was perfect as we have family nearby and will definitely return soon

    Angela2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A very cosy shepherds hut, close to the centre of St Mabyn, a lovely historic and characterful village not far from Wadebridge. Local pub is an easy walk away. Our Springer spaniel loved it too, and had good walks in the fields behind the church, and long runs along the Camel Trail. The hut was set up well, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom well appointed. Loved the lights inside, enjoyed the chocolate biscuits and liqueur chose left out for us when we arrived. We had everything we needed and even managed breakfast outside using the patio table & chairs, despite it being early January! Very good value.

    Anne2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most fantastic stay! The bed was so comfy, we had a lie in for the first time in years! We didn’t want to get up. I was also surprised at how private the hut was, usually they’re placed in someone’s back garden overlooked by the main house but we felt completely private . The pub and shops are all within walking distance and the village is so idyllic. The personal touches left by Ginny and Des were lovely, so much thought had gone into our stay. Would definitely recommend and we will be back next summer!

    Jasmine2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Primrose, it's a lovely little space oozing with quirkiness and character. With everything you need in it's own little place, the shepherds hut is so well thought out, with a comfortable bed and its cosy and romantic too. We lit the log burner too which was just wonderful. Ginny is a fantastic host and she made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend, a great location to explore beautiful Cornwall too.

  • Wow!! What a super house. Was perfect for our group. Iain was really friendly and made everything very easy for us.

    Jenny2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This house is stunning, the pictures on here are lovely but they cannot do it justice with the amazing modern and spacious rooms. We had all 3 rentals and they were all 5 star. There was 15 of us in total and we all said how amazing the house is and no one wanted to leave. So much room no one was on top of each other. We were there for my partners 40th and I brought a cake but forgot the candles! I didn’t need to worry though as there were brand new candles in the drawer (saved the day, can’t have a birthday cake without a wish). The house had everything you could need and more. It was spotlessly clean throughout. It had the latest music system and great underfloor heating. Which in February we needed lol. Iain was very friendly and informative and it was great how we could access it earlier. Rachael was very quick to reply to my questions and an excellent host. The location is stunning it is rural with lovely views over fields. We had some food in Wadebridge and then got taxis’s back to the house. It was a very a short journey. Polzeath is also only a short drive which has a stunning beach. The book of the journey to build the house was fascinating and it truly is a Grand Design. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and hopefully will return in the future.

  • Would highly recommend Rachael’s place for large groups. The house is incredible, so much space and the perfect location. Iain was always on hand and was so accommodating. Would definitely book here again :) thank you for having us.

  • We had a fantastic time staying at Tresweden. The house was perfect for what we were looking for, very clean and good facilities. Great location, as it easy to get to Wadebridge, Padstow and Polzeath. Fab hosts too, they couldn’t have made it easier for us. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a lovely place to stay in Cornwall.

A warm welcome from us (and our dog Woody) await you in our cosy old terraced house, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Wadebridge. Slate floors, beamed ceilings, quaint rooms and a pretty garden, your own shower room, along with a comfy bed/s and good wifi. There's plenty of shared space downstairs - a garden room, sitting room, dining room, and large kitchen you are welcome to use.
Kim & Guy invite you to come and stay in their lovely old terraced house in Wadebridge, in beautiful Cornwall. The house is Grade 2 listed and has lots of interesting history. The oldest rooms date from when it was a small detached farmhouse - 1770 we're told. It was then 'added on to' on either side to become part of a terrace (1800's). The kitchen ( and your bedroom above it) are the 'modern extension', built in 1901! We have a lovely beamed first floor double bedroom available, with two windows overlooking the garden. It's slightly separate from the other bedrooms in the house. We try to make it really comfortable, & have included the things that we appreciate ourselves when we go away. This includes things like a bedside table and lamp each side of the bed (most important!). Just outside the bedroom is a little private area with various teas, coffee, biscuits etc are provided - feel free to help yourself. There's also a little fridge for your sole use. Since the photo was taken we have upgraded the bed to a comfortable 5' King size, that can be split into two 2' 6" singles - just let us know on booking how you would like them made up. We've also added a table and chairs so you have somewhere to sit. There's a good internet signal in the bedroom, and an Amazon Echo Dot. If there are 3 of you travelling together, we can make up an extra bed on a floor mattress for an extra £20 per night. The shower room is almost en suite, next to the bedroom and again a bit separate from the rest of upstairs. It's 'sole use' while you're with us, and we provide towels on request. We also have a nice downstairs sitting room for your use, (with a TV/DVD), and a dining room off the kitchen with ceiling beams and a slate flagged floor. You are welcome to use our kitchen/diner. We know how expensive it can get when you're on holiday & have to eat out all the time. We only ask that you eat meals downstairs rather than in the bedroom. We're happy to lend wine glasses etc to take upstairs. You are welcome to use the garden. It's nice to sit out in the evening when the weather's warm. We also have a secure lockable shed in the garden if you bring bikes etc with you. We also have a studio in the garden where I make glass beads - these are for sale, or can be handmade to order while you're here. Or even better - learn to make your own 'flameworked' beads (£45 for a taster session of approx 3 hours) - and have something special to take with you when you leave! PARKING: Parking is on the road at the end of the terrace, or just up the road or round the corner. Just to note that particularly in high season, the road outside gets busier with visitor parking as we are so close to town. The road gets MUCH quieter after 6.00pm, so that is an ideal time to arrive. Having said that, we (and guests) have always been able to park within one or two minutes walk of the house. You can always pull in to the lane right in front of the house to drop off luggage, you just can't park there. If parking is a worry for you we're always happy to move our own cars for you to park. As an absolute last resort (we've never had to), there's a pay and display car park at the bottom of the road.
Wadebridge is fabulously located, just 6 miles from the stunning North Cornwall coast. It's a small, pretty market town, with a pedestrianised shopping street full of independent shops - lots of little gift shops, pubs, deli's and restaurants. From our house it's just 5 minutes walk down the hill into town, so no worries about drinking and driving if you head out in the evening. In the town itself, there's plenty of places to eat and drink. This includes several traditional Cornish pubs, Indian restaurants, Chinese take aways, tapas bars, pizzerias, and plenty of small independent cafes and restaurants. We're happy to give you recommendations! Wadebridge has a lovely park, and the River Camel runs right through the middle of town. Alongside the river, the Camel Trail runs all the way to Padstow, 6 miles away to the west, and Bodmin to the East. This is a traffic free trail specifically for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It's a beautiful place to stroll as it overlooks the river and then Estuary, so it's popular with bird watchers and photographers too. There's plenty of bike hire places in town. Wadebridge also has a sports centre, and a twin screen independent cinema too, so there's lots to do in the evenings. If you walk up the road rather than down, you're in open countryside within 5 minutes, with plenty of public footpaths & quiet county lanes to explore. Within a short drive (8 miles) is the pretty fishing port of Port Isaac (of Doc Martin/Fishermen's Friends fame). The historic villages of Tintagel & Boscastle are just a few miles further up the road. The surfing beach of Polzeath, & the gorgeous beaches of Rock & Daymer Bay are 7 miles away. Padstow (7 miles) is a really pretty harbour town. It's home to Rick Stein and is well known for its fabulous range of restaurants. Again, you can safely cycle there from the house, and from there walk to a number of beautiful beaches. Many of the beaches face west so you can get amazing sunsets over the sea. Newquay, with good surfing beaches & nightlife, is 15 miles away. The Eden project approx 20 miles. We can tell you about lots of little hidden gems as well! Being fairly centrally situated in Cornwall, nowhere is very far away. A tour of Poldark Country down the A30 is easily do-able in a day. Obviously Cornwall is really popular in the summer, but personally we love it in the spring and autumn, when it's still mild, a lot quieter, and still as beautiful. And don't forget the wild winter waves....
  • Amazing place, very friendly hosts. Thank you Kim, we had a wonderful time!

    Petr2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kim is a very thoughtful host who went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable and homely as possible. It was lovely to meet you all (Woody the dog is an absolute dream!) - thank you so much for having us.

    Jerusha2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's place is a really serious find. What a welcome from all the family! They were kindness personified. My sister and I are thinking of staying again next year and taking some glass beading lessons. The twin beds were really comfortable and there is plenty of space and good lights for reading. The arm chairs are really comfortable too. I came across varieties of teas I didn't know about. The way Kim has arranged breakfast meant although we used her charming kitchen we didn't feel we were imposing on her private space. Thanks for a great stay.

    Sue2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a super experience. I've stayed in many Airbnbs before but this was the first time I'd shared spare in the owner's property. Myself and my daughter felt really relaxed and comfortable to be in Kim and Guy's home. They are thoughtful and friendly hosts and we made use of the kitchen and a sitting room as well as our own separate space. Woody 's attentions made it all the more special (with lots of encouragement from us). We were very happy with all the facilities. Especially good was the 'extra' little room between the bedroom and shower room, with drinks facilities and a little chest fridge and just more space for our stuff. The breakfasts were lovely too, always with fresh fruit. The location is a positive too - very close to shops and eateries, with nice walks and a view nearby. I would heartily recommend...

    Allison2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in this cozy homely air b&b. The hosts were great and were kind enough to lend us their bodyboards while we were there. There was plenty of options for breakfast and the house was in a perfect location, just a short walk from wadebridge town. All in had a fantastic stay.

    Daniel2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely big room with a very cosy bed. Bathroom very close by. Do make sure you see Kim’s road directions on how to find her place as it can be a little tricky. Parking is only on road and could be scarce.

    Karen2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Guy were so incredibly hospitable. Their home is beautiful and inviting. Super comfy bed - exactly what we needed as a luxury during our week of camping down the Cornish coast! Good breakfast options. And Woody the dog was such a nice guy!!! It felt like we were staying at a friends house. We’re very grateful to have met such nice hosts... thank you Kim, Guy and Woody!

    Lucky2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Superb greeting, lovely accommodation full of character. Woody is a darling and was no trouble at all. Bed is very comfortable and the allocated coffee area outside the bedroom is a nice touch. Do think about taking a class with Kim to do some glass bead making. I did and I'm hooked. We will be going back asap.

Lamellen Lodge is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! The St Tudy Inn (formerly the Cornish Arms) will welcome you in for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or both!Wadebridge was originally a market town. It has an amazing 15th century bridge with 17 arches over the River Camel, which is definitely worth a visit. It is said the bridge was built on wool as this was how the wealthy landowners in the area made their money. From the day the bridge was built the town became known as Wadebridge. The Royal Cornwall Show ground at Wadebridge hosts the county show every June, come rain or shine, opened each year by a member of the Royal Family. Cornish Farmers have had to diversify in recent years and so has the show, but they have kept their traditional roots with steam engines being shown next to the shiny new high-tech tractors. It's not every day you get to see formation JCB digger dancing in the main ring. Both Wadebridge and nearby Camelford are centrally located in order to explore the nearby hills and moors. Wadebridge is the perfect base, being the half way point, from which to discover the Camel Trail, a walk and cycle track following the old railway route from Bodmin to Padstow. There is wonderful scenery and plenty of wildlife, including fantastic sightings of wading birds to see on this serene trail and bikes can be hired from Bodmin, Wadebridge or Padstow. From Padstow you could take a boat trip across the Camel Estuary to Rock, and lounge on the beautiful beach that stretches all the way around to Daymer Bay. The National Lobster Hatchery neighbours Rick Steins empire in Padstow. The National Trust have three properties nearby, Lanhydrock House, Trerice and Carnewas and the dramatic cliffs and beach at Bedruthan Steps. Or if you fancy something different try a tour around the Camel Valley Vineyard, Cornish Wine has been growing in stature around the world and their sparkling wines are truly stunning, having picked up lots of international awards, go for a tasting you will not be disappointed!Bodmin Moor is a couple of miles away to the East and is dominated by large granite tors which tower over sweeping expanses of moorland. Bodmin Moor has engendered fear and awe throughout history and hence provided inspiration for writers, poets and sculptors. Standing stones, burial chambers, clapper bridges cottages and farms across the moor give a hint of the 4000 years of human development ever since Bronze Age farmers first arrived.Port Isaac is about 4 miles to the North West and this has recently been the base of filming for "Doc Martin" with Martin Clunes, there are a good selection of cafes shops and pubs. Further up the coast there are all of the golden beaches and coves between Polzeath and Tintagel with some of the best surf in Europe.Bodmin lies a few miles to South West and has a large selection of supermarkets, shops and restaurants.

Kovva Cabin is a small but perfectly formed hideaway for two in the Cornish countryside. Situated on the edge of the village you'll be greeted by views across fields to the moors in the distance. A studio set up, the cabin features a living space with sofa, smart TV with direct access to Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as on demand service from the BBC etc., dining furniture, built-in wardrobe, gas central heating and a wood burning stove. There's a Google smart speaker on the wall for music, help and advice. Large windows look out into the garden. A Velux roof window looks up into the tree canopy and has a blackout blind. Handy USB charging points are located up there too, along with a wireless lamp to create a warm glow at night. There is limited headroom on the mezzanine and you cannot stand up but it has a soft wool carpet and enough width to make it a comfortable space to relax in. The bathroom has a carved marble basin sat on top of a teak vanity unit, heated towel rail to keep your Egyptian cotton towels warm and dry, a shower and toilet. Step out onto the covered deck to enjoy the fresh air in all weather. Outside, you have your own garden with patio furniture and a fire pit to toast marshmallows on. Watch birds play in the trees during the day, bats at dusk, and at night, listen out for owls. There's a dedicated off-street parking space and room to store your bikes and surfboards. We also have a beginners surfboard available for guests to borrow - just ask.
Our cute Cornish village is just minutes from the rolling surf of the north Cornish coast. We are close to some fantastic beaches, perfect for a walk, exploring the coast path, or hitting the surf at Polzeath. We'll help you find a quiet cove for lazy summer days. • If you’re looking for a relaxing trip to Cornwall with the opportunity to do some amazing hikes and see some stunning beaches, look no further than Julia’s cabin. Situated perfectly to visit loads of places of interest, and the cabin itself is lovely and cosy too. The wood burner is really effective and the bed was very comfortable. Julia was brilliant too, always so quick to respond if you needed help and gave fantastic advice to ensure our trip went perfectly.

    Jack2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The whole experience was superb. The cabin was exactly as described and spotlessly clean. There were many extra touches which were lovely! Everything you need & more. The welcome was excellent and we definitely felt at home - Julia was obviously keen for us to enjoy our time at the cabin. Communications were spot on too. We stayed for 4 nights & would 100% recommend!

    Peter2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was an absolute dream come true. It was impeccably decorated, in a beautiful location and very cozy. It honestly felt like a true home away from home. Julia was incredibly helpful and friendly and even provided a wonderful hamper of goodies upon our arrival. I cannot recommend Kovva cabin enough!

  • Had a lovely couple of nights at Kovva Cabin - just wish we didn't have to leave! Julia was a fantastic host, communicative and friendly but left us to it. The space is so beautifully decorated, with everything you would need for a luxurious & relaxing stay including local coffee and homemade cookies. St Teath is a great base for exploring a beautiful part of Cornwall and we couldn't recommend Kovva highly enough.

    Georgie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kovva Cabin is all you could imagine! Sparkling clean, beautifully and stylishly presented, all mod cons, well equipped and very comfortable. It was such a treat staying there and Julia is a wonderful host. Homemade cookies, tasty local goodies and all important milk for tea were left for us which just shows how much Julia values her guests and the quality of their stay. A comprehensive help sheet is in the cabin in case you have quick questions. There are so many lovely walks and villages nearby to hop on and off the coastal path; cosy pubs and cafes provide the all important pasties and cream teas! Enjoying a mug of hot chocolate in front of the log burner- bliss!

    Mary2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing experience in a cute cabin. We were given a tour and a goody box on arrival and then were left to it. The hosts would message to check up on us every day and would let us know where we were going. The place was really clean and cosy. We were able to get to a number of places such as tintagel castle, the enden project and lads end with ease.

The cottage location is great for exploring the lovely area with loads to see and do. We would highly recommend.

  • We booked a last minute getaway. We chose the cottage because it had a high chair, toys and stair gates. It made our stay stress free with our 17month old. The booklet Stacey created for visitors is great and extremely helpful.

The garden Studio is a sunny king size annex ringed with windows, it's own garden entrance & en suite bathroom - French Press (cafetiere) and tea, coffee, milk and croissants for your first morning's breakfast. In the centre of Blisland, a gorgeous village with a green, church, a shop/post office with cafe & The Blisland Inn, award winning pub, a short stumble away. We are on the edge of Bodmin moor with miles of views, walks & wild ponies, only a mile from the Camel Trail & Cycle route 3.
The Artists Studio www.airbnb.co.uk/h/cornish-hideaway THE HOUSE The house is set just off the village green and near to the popular pub, the Blisland Inn, in the very beautiful village of Blisland on the edge of Bodmin Moor. It feels very quiet and rural but is only 5 minutes off the main A30 and 10 minutes away from Bodmin with all the ameneties and shops. The Studio is an annexe of our house with a king size bedroom and en-suite bath, and has its own private entrance from its designated parking space, through the garden and to the French doors into the room. Here’s some of the details on this Cornish hideaway. - Private access - Designated parking space - King size bed (or two singles if requested in advance) - En-suite bathroom with full bath, shower over, lots of towels, airing cupboard, hair drier, iron and compact ironing board, chest of drawers and basic toiletries - At one end of the main room is a small dining area with table and chairs - Small refrigerator for milk and other necessities - Toaster - Plates, cutlery, coffee cups, wine glasses and water filter - Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and croissants for first morning are provided as well as a selection of cereal boxes – so you don’t need to think about breakfast for your first morning with us. THE GARDEN You will have almost exclusive access and use of our beautiful back garden. Right outside your door is a granite paved patio with garden furniture and a chiminea for warmth on chilly evenings, so make yourself a cup of coffee and sit out in the sun and enjoy the tranquility of our idyll. You also have use of our lawn but please note there is a sunken feature in the garden we affectionally call the sump with a small trickle of a river running through it. We rarely come into the back garden so you can feel very private there. PARKING You have your own parking space for the Artists Studio which leads right into the back garden and to the door to the room. EATING OUT There are no cooking facilities provided but there is a small fridge and a toaster, you are welcome to bring supplies and eat in the studio, but if you would like to eat out the nearest is the Blisland Inn which is a 2 minute walk away, they do good pub classics and a superb Sunday lunch (book ahead for that). Within a 6 mile radius you have other pub grub options, St Tudy Inn has a very well though of restaurant that has received Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2017. The St Maybyn Inn is also known for their food and the S Breward Inn has a famous carvery. If you fancy a fancy meal, Rick Stein’s at Padstow is only 15 miles away. GREAT FOR COUPLES- The Studio is the perfect size for a couple wanting a getaway to the countryside and enjoy a little peace and quiet, and with the pub just next door you need never leave the centre of Blisland if you don't feel like it. GREAT FOR CYCLISTS – The Studio is on national Cycle Route 3 and lies less that a mile from the Camel Trail an 18 mile off road permissive way that runs along the River Camel from St Breward to Padstow along an old railway track. The Camel Trail is used by cyclists, walkers, joggers and horseriders. If you like a more demanding route we are only a mile away from Bodmin Moor where you can cycle for hours and hours. For trail riders there is the new mountainbiking trails at Cardinham Woods and Lanhydrock. GREAT FOR WALKERS – The Artists Studio is just off Bodmin Moor with hundreds of miles of footpaths and ancient monuments to explore including Neolithic hut circles, stone circles, ancient field systems and the 1000’s of years of habitation remains at Roughtor and Brown Willy. We are also within easy reach by car of the Cornish Coast Path with 100’s of miles of coastline walks GREAT FOR NATIONAL TRUST MEMBERS – We are about 6 miles away from Lanhydrock one of the Trusts most popular stately homes as well as many other Trust properties. GREAT FOR SURFERS, BEACHLOVERS AND WILD SWIMMING ENTHUSIASTS – The Studio is a half hour drive from Polzeath Beach with fantastic surf and lots of surfboard and wetsuit hire options as well as boutiques and restaurants. We are also not far from the fantastic surfing beaches of the Newquay area and within easy reach of the more gentle beaches along the south coast if you enjoy wild swimming. GREAT FOR EXPLORERS – If you enjoy visiting quaint fishing villages like Port Isaac – where Dr Martin is filmed, Padstow or Fowey – Daphne DeMaurier’s old haunt then this is a good base to explore from.
Blisand is in the heartland of North Cornwall, Bodmin Moor, where you will find hundreds of miles of trails and where herds of wild ponies roam free. Bodmin Moor is littered with Neolithic sites and mysterious stone circles. Because of our central Cornwall location we are near both the North and South coasts so if you love surfing head North to Polzeath or Newquay or if you prefer a gentler seaside experience head south to explore the coves and villages around Fowey and Mevagissey. If you are a fan of Doc Martin and Poldark lots of filming sites are within easy reach of us such as Port Isaac the location of fictional Port Wenn and Poldark's house is up on the moor only 3 miles from us. If your kind of holiday involves roaring fires and good food there are many wonderful pubs and restaurants near us and I am happy to make recommendations.

  • We had a nice stay at Christina's place. The room was spacious enough for a short stay. The bed was large and comfy and the bathroom was a decent size also. The entrance and parking to the room was in a great location to get to the local pub which was convenient for a bite to eat. We also loved our little 4 legged house guest (one of the cats) who came to check out her new guests. Christina was thoughtful enough to provide oat milk and some vegan treats even though we had a last minute booking.

    Brooke2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The artists studio is a fantastic place to stay. Great value, really well kitted out. Christina is generous in offering to help with anything. There are lots of lovely personal touches in the space. It’s a great location close to A30 and a short drive for the Eden project, the Camel trail, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Padstow and Rock. The bed is a super king size bed -and comfortably accommodated 2 adults and our 5 year old! We look forward to staying again in the future.

  • Christina's place is gorgeous. Really cosy and comfortable in a beautiful little village on the green. It's the perfect place to explore the area and Christina will make you feel really welcome. A wonderful place to stay!

Our detached home is set in an acre of garden in a quiet rural hamlet 1 mile from the village of Chapel Amble and 5 miles from the pretty town of Wadebridge. We are ideally located to explore the villages of North Cornwall (Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle). The Eden Project is just under 40 minutes by car. Our nearest beach is Polzeath. Please note that although the tourist areas are easily accessible by car, you will need to use your car to get about due to our rural location.
We are a warm and friendly family with three young children aged 8, 7 and 5, four chickens and a cat. We like to live life simply and slowly and would love to welcome you to stay in our home. Our ground floor garden room is duel aspect and spacious with its own bathroom (with a good over bath shower) and private entrance. We can sleep 2 in a king size bed for the current listing price and there is a single bed available for an extra £10 per night. If you would like to use both beds in the room and there are only two people, there is a supplement of £5 to help with our laundry costs. The room is large enough to accommodate a travel cot / crib . We don't charge extra for a baby and can provide a travel cot if needs be. If you are a family with younger children, we are very accommodating and understanding - we have three of our own after all! Our home is an 'L' shape and the guest room is at the far end of one part of the 'L' on the other side of our 30ft kitchen / family room. Please note that although the room has its own private entrance and bathroom, it is not in a separate building. As this is an Airbnb home-stay you will be warmly welcomed into our family and during the day you will have the opportunity to meet our lovely and sometimes lively children. At night it is very quiet as your room is quite separate from our own bedrooms and lounge. We don't suffer from noise pollution here and our guests find that they sleep very well - the comfy bed gets great reviews too! We provide tea and coffee making facilities and a rustic breakfast of freshly baked home made sourdough, a selection of jams and tea or cafetiere coffee which can be eaten in the privacy of your room. The bread I make is good quality artisan bread and like all good things it takes time to make. It is more filling than your average shop bought slice of white and the fermentation process means its a much healthier option. I like to experiment with my sourdough so breakfast can include a mixture of sweet and savoury bread. My current favourite is chocolate, sultana and treacle! If you are looking for a full English breakfast we can recommend cafes in the area that provide this. The room we offer is ideal for anyone who would like a comfortable stay in a friendly home from home environment. We are a down to earth family and like to live in a low impact and low tech way, so if you want to be nourished by nature and get away from it all, this is the place for you! Our home is quirky, well loved and lived in and we guarantee you a very warm welcome and a taste of our life in this idyllic part of Cornwall. Our little hamlet has 8 houses and a very small dairy farm and is situated between the villages of Chapel Amble and St Kew. We don't have a pub of our own, but the surrounding villages do and they serve good food which makes them very popular particularly during the summer months (booking in advance is advisable during this time). Port Isaac (4 miles), Padstow (12.8 miles), Tintagel (9.6 miles), Boscastle (13 miles) are all easily accessible by car. Polzeath beach is our nearest beach and is a 10 minute drive from here and is very popular with surfers. There are several places there where you can hire surf equipment or book lessons. If you want to bring your own surfboard and wet suits we have space to store and dry them. If you are interested in something a bit different, we can provide private meditation sessions to our guests using the healing sound of the medicine drum. We can hold the session in the comfort of our lounge upstairs or in the kitchen if you prefer. Please let us know if you would like to find out more about this when you make your booking. DOGS You are welcome to bring your well behaved and child friendly dog with you (we can only allow one dog as there is limited space in the room). Our local beach Polzeath allows dogs from 1st October through to the start of Easter and there are plenty of dog friendly beaches in Cornwall all year round. Please note that we have three young (dog friendly) children, 4 chickens (in a run) and a cat, so yourdog will need to be happy to be around them. Also our garden is not enclosed and open to grazing fields (cows). There is an additional charge of £5 for your dog. If you would like to bring your dog, please message us first so we can discuss the arrangements and house rules we have in place.
We live in a pretty hamlet of 8 houses about 1 mile outside the village of Chapel Amble and 5 miles from the town of Wadebridge. There is a very small traditionally run dairy farm in the hamlet (with a herd of approximately 20 cows). The cows graze in the fields surrounding us and there are some lovely walks round the lanes where children can enjoy cow 'spotting'. St Kew with its popular St Kew Inn is just over a mile away in one direction and the Maltsters Pub in Chapel Amble is just over a mile in the other direction. Both pubs serve good quality food. Whilst you can walk to them the walks are on single track country lanes, so driving is advisable at night outside of the longer daylight hours. During peak season it is recommended to ring ahead to book a table as both pubs are very popular and get booked up quickly. Please note that we live in a rural area so do not have the facilities of a town or village, however there are shops in Wadebridge (5 miles away) including supermarkets (Tesco, Lidl, Aldi). Wadebridge is a pretty town with plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. There are several good sized car parks to use in town. The Camel trail is fun to cycle along and there are plenty of bike hire companies in Wadebridge town. Rock and Padstow are nearby and there are many beaches and villages to explore in the area.
  • One of the best AirBnB accommodations I have ever been. Very spacious room with a big bathroom (wellnes shower!!). Everything very clean! Wonderful view into the garden. Absolutely silent and peaceful. A place to calm down and to relax in the middle of the countryside. Jo was very helpful and gave me some good advices. Highly recommended!

The Hayloft provides a brilliant bolt hole in an area of outstanding natural beauty with views across rolling countryside and from the garden down the valley to the sea and Port Isaac. A perfect spot to enjoy walks on the south west coastal path, the beaches of Polzeath and Rock and the wild beauty of Bodmin moor. Situated on the coastal B road it gives quick access to amazing coastline of North Cornwall, a wide range of excellent pubs and restaurants together with historic houses and castles.
The Hayloft is accessed via our courtyard garden by an outside staircase and comprises a small entrance lobby, shower room and a compact open plan living and sleeping area.
The Cornish Arms pub in the village is in the process of being upgraded with new landlords at Easter. They have a good menu and we can arrange table reservations. Within 5 minutes drive is the very popular The St Kew Inn and various restaurants in Port Isaac and Port Gaverne. A little bit further is Polzeath with its excellent surfing beach and Rock where a foot ferry can be taken to Padstow.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Wayne's place, which was a great spot to retreat too. It had everything you could want for a short break, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage full of character.

    Tim2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage that suited the three of us perfect (a couple and a dog)! The place was very neat and tidy. The burner was set and ready for us to light upon arrival which was a nice touch as it was a little bit chilly at first. I would recommend to bring warm socks if you're going in the colder months because (the beautiful) stone floor could be cold. We would love to come back and stay here again!

    Johanna2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at the cottage! Wayne is a really good host and was easy to communicate with. We appreciated the fire on arrival and the thoughtful gifts of processco and a bottle of beer. Which my partner said was one of the best beers he has had! It was a good location to stay in cornwall as everywhere was really accessible. The cottage is lovely and homely.

    Amy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cottage for 5 nights whilst exploring Cornwall and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The weather was typically inclement but the cottage provided a safe and comfortable haven. The facilities at the cottage are great and the bed is one of the comfiest I've had the pleasure of sleeping in. 100% would stay again.

    Neil2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time spent in this beautiful cottage. It's so homely and romantic, with lots of thoughtful detail. It's located in a lovely village and is an ideal base for exploring north Cornwall. Wayne was a brilliant host, going above and beyond to help us when we ran into some problems. We can't recommend this cottage enough.

    Nicola2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very sweet little cottage in a stunning area. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed especially comfortable. The fire was especially welcome in February! Check in and out was easy and convenient times and Wayne went above and beyond to make sure he stayed in contact and checked in on us when we had a power cut due to the storms. A great base, lovely cosy few days away!

    Gwennan2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little get away in the countryside of Cornwall, a lovely cosy house with everything you need. The fire and the bath made that extra homely feel.

    Amber2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wayne's place is really a lovely gem of a cottage. It's in a small village just at the edge of Bodmin moor which makes it well positioned to explore the entire county of Cornwall. It is a traditional stone cottage so there's a few quirks- relying on stove for heating, narrow steep stairs, etc. From an accessibility point of view, there's definitely challenges, with stairs down to the front door, stairs down to the bathroom (below ground floor), and stairs up to the bedroom. All in all we found the cottage to be a really lovely, romantic, cosy getaway spot for a few days. Highly recommended.

  • Lovely quirky little space that was just perfect for my short stop over. Sue is a terrific host and I really appreciated the little touches that were provided... I arrived weary from a ferry crossing and being able to grab a bottle of wine and leave the money in the honesty box was just the ticket! Great garden space too and watching the birds as they flitted about the hanging feeders was very tranquil.

Our little cottage is pretty tiny but very cosy. In through the stable door is a kitchen then front room. Slate floors throughout the downstairs. The wood burner will keep you warm and a selection of games or a tv. Up the fairly steep narrow wooden stairs to the bedroom and bathroom with shower over the bath. Well behaved dogs welcome although the garden is not fenced.
Camelford Cottage is slightly quirky and rustic. The old slate floors are rather cold so bring your slippers! The garden is small and not fenced but fine for any dog parent who's happy to take their dog out on a lead before enjoying the country/beach walks. There's a small decking area. No bbqs please, bbq space is available at the local Enfield Park. The cottage is very old and a bit drafty but the cosy woodburner downstairs and heaters upstairs will keep you warm......winter guests add warm pjs and a hot water bottle to your 'to pack' list. There is a small fold up bed available if a 3rd bed is required. The cottage is set back from the road up a couple of steps and along a slate flagged path. This is a shared path. Through the stable door you step up one step into the kitchen.
Camelford is a small old market town with a few shops, pubs, takeaways and cafe with the river camel runs through it. Ideally located for exploring the north cornish coast and the surrounding moorland. Within the local area is Rough Tor, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle, beaches, Crowdy Reservoir, Wadebridge to name just a few fantastic places.

    Richard2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina was an incredibly helpful and friendly host. All instructions how to get to the cottage and where to park were really clear and accurate. The cottage itself was beautiful, immaculately clean, cosy and although near a fairly busy road, tucked away enough to be really peaceful. It had everything we needed and the chocolates were a lovely touch thank you! The property is perfect for a lone traveller or a couple. Five minute walk into centre of Camelford and ideally located for the North Cornwall coast. Will definitely be staying again when we visit Cornwall in the future!

  • Beautiful cottage with a homely feel .. super friendly host thanks again

  • My partner and I stayed for a long weekend in this beautiful cosy cottage. The cottage is a real home away from home and super cosy. Very clean and comfortable we wish we could have stayed for longer. It’s in a perfect setting with all the best places to visit about 20 minutes drive away. Georgina gives really good directions so it’s easy to find and there’s plenty of parking nearby. If this place is available I highly recommend booking it!!

St Kew is a lovely, peaceful village close to many north cornwall beaches renowned for their surf. The local pub is very welcoming and serves excellent food. There is a local farm shop and cafe in walking distance and even a pasty shop which serves wonderful pasties freshly made daily.
  • A wonderful location with fantastic warm cosy but spacious apartment, Huge comfy bed and although on a road so so quiet . we'll be back Thanks for everything

  • One of our favourite places to stay in Cornwall. I would 100% recommend and return again

    Sammy2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Philippa is a fantastic host. Checking we were ok without being intrusive she also left cookies and chocolate for our arrival which was much appreciated. Would definitely stay again in the future and recommend to anyone looking to visit the St Kew area.

    Jane2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean. Everything you need is on hand. Philippa is very very accommodating. You will need a car there is nothing really in walking distance. St Kew Inn down in the village is must visit.

    Lee2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a rural location. Thank you Phillipa for the chocolates and shortbread on arrival! Cottage is well stoked and super clean. Thank you for letting us use the stunning garden and woods to exercise our dog. We explored Perranporth, Padstow and Wadebridge during our stay- a car is a must and plenty of change for car parking if you are travelling in peak season. Will be recommending to friends and family!

    Laura2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place just outside St Kew, clean and with helpful and friendly hosts. Great local places to eat (farmshop on main road for lovely breakfasts and cake, plus the village pub in St Kew itself). Well placed for getting out and about in Cornwall. Philippa has prepared a book full of restaurant/activities/walks in the local area which was very useful if you are not familiar with the area.

    Claire2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay. Thanks.

    Julie2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent accommodation here. Very clean and a King size bed really helps. Really enjoyed doing the Camel Trail on our bikes. It is flat and beautiful. It was a great passage to Padstow from Helland Bridge where we set off from. Plenty of cycle hire shops available either end of this trail and in Wadebridge . TOP TIP;- For those of you who do parkruns and wish to visit the Eden Project we heard that if you do the Parkrun at the Eden Project one gets in for free! That's a jolly good saving. However, the nearest Parkrun is at Lanhydroch House (20 mins drive), a National Trust place and with a course that has got to be one of the best in the country. - Chris & Rosie

  • A very small but well thought out flat in a great location. Off street parking a bonus in such a tight village. We had a lovely stay.

    Chris2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the Old Boathouse - a cute little converted boathouse with history and ingenious use of space (i.e. the suitcase storage and clothes hanging space over the stairs), lovely and clean and the bed was so comfortable - I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. Well situated too for strolls into the village. It was lovely to meet Cheryl - so friendly and the perfect host. Thanks so much, we will definitely be back!

    Sue2020-03-13T00:00:00Z

  • We had a lovely week in the Boat House. When I met Cheryl the owner she couldn't have been more friendly or welcoming. It is in a very convenient situation with a short walk to the quay and village (there is a steep hill involved)! There is plenty of choice for restaurants; everywhere we went the people were friendly and helpful. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and very well thought out. Thank you. I'm sure we will visit again. Linda

  • The Boathouse is a lovely little space full of character in a perfect location. Was just what we were looking for and we had a great stay.

  • We had a lovely stay at The Old Boathouse- it is incredibly cosy and although it is small it is perfectly formed! We really appreciated the welcoming touches of biscuits and milk after a long journey- also really appreciated Cheryl coming to check on us when our car broke down! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, it's a perfect location and a gorgeous place to stay.

  • Sharons cottage was a lovely place to stay, the amenities were great - the kitchen has everything you need and the living space is really cosy as well as being very clean. If you love animals it’s a great place to be as we saw plenty of goats and alpacas on site. Sharon even left us goats milk and eggs from the farm for our stay. 'Captain's Cabin' is a great base for exploring the incredible North Cornish coastline or relaxing on the decking with a good book and our homemade cream tea! You can walk across the meadows to Tintagel Castle, village pubs & cafes galore! Explore the lane up to National Trust land and the dramatic coastpath where you can head southwest for 3/4 of a mile to Trebarwith Strand or head in the other direction to Bossiney Beach, Rocky Valley & famous Boscastle Harbour.
Captain's Cabin is a unique and cosy hideaway set in the large garden of the main house. It is very comfortable with a good quality mattress on a king-sized bed & an en-suite with a large, hot shower and a walk in wardrobe. There is WIFI in the cabin, a TV, a small fridge and tea making facilities. The Cabin has private use of very simple kitchen facilities (fridge, freezer, microwave, single hob etc) which are available in the separate barn (which can be cold!). There is ample parking available at the main house & it is a level walk across the grass to the cabin.
Trevillick is a quiet, tucked away hamlet 1/2 a mile from Tintagel. Along with a stunning sea view in many directions, it is also surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and has direct access down a dusty (or muddy!) track to stunning National Trust land and footpaths in every direction! Tintagel is a small and friendly village which is famously linked to the legend of King Arthur. Don't forget to grab a pasty at Pengenna's! The most delicious and largest pasties known to man! Tintagel Castle and the beach is around a 1 mile walk from the cabin along the dramatic coastline. From here you can also walk to Trebarwith Strand, Bossiney Bay, Rocky Valley, Boscastle and beyond! There are also gorgeous places to visit in a car such as Port Isaac, the famous fishing village, which is a 20 minute drive and Wadebridge, a lively hub where you can hire bikes and cycle along the camel trail to Padstow, a snazzy fishing port.
  • This is an amazing place! Definitely one of my favorite Airbnb’s! We wish we could have stayed longer. The space is beautiful and very functional. The location can’t be beat (easy walk to the castle). Jon was super nice and gave us lots of local tips.

    Jennifer2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • I like the place but why don't the cottage has its own kitchen??

    Mbakondja2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful location, lovely cabin and wonderful hosts. Lovely touches, great scones!

    Bryony2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • LOVED this place. Location is so magical with views of the ocean! Cosy and adorable inside and I stayed super warm even though it was freezing and windy. The barn with the kitchen is VERY cold in winter so I didn’t spend much time there cooking, but if you’re into going out to eat or eating simply it works!

    Rosalie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Cosy Cabin, it has everything you need. Jon was super friendly and gave us some great recommendations for things to do in the area. And Maddys scones were delicious! Highly recommend going for at least three nights!! We will hopefully be back another time

    Nicole2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing, the cabin is lovely and clean and Jon and Maddy were wonderful hosts. Jon took the time to tell us about a bunch of things to do in the area and Maddy made some delicious scones which we were delighted to find when we arrived. Will definitely be coming back in summer.

    Catherine2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant stay at Jon & Maddy's cabin. Before we arrived communication with Francesca was speedy and the directions were great. When we arrived we met Jon who enthusiastically showed us around and gave some brilliant tips about the local area which helped us make the most of our stay. Also there were fantastic touches like freshly made scones and prosecco ready to enjoy 😊. We'd both highly recommend this accomodation to anyone, even though the weather was pretty brutal at night the cabin was well heated + the electric blanket kept us toasty.

    Caitlin2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jon and Maddy's place for 5 days and it was wonderful. The cabin is located in a beautiful spot that overlooks the ocean and has great walks nearby. Other towns are within 30 mins driving distance if you want to explore the rest of Cornwall. Tintagel is about 3 mins drive away and has a couple of decent supermarkets. The cabin itself has everything you need and there's a kitchen in a separate barn

  • Great spot ,great hosts & a lovely place really does what is says on tin ;)

    Amy2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly, before talking about the property. I need to say that James, the host, was fantastic! From pre-booking to check-out his communication and willing support was spot-on. I'm very glad I stayed at his place and will look for opportunities to do so again in the future because he cares about the guest and their needs and that is priceless. The pad was as advertised a great place to spend a few nights alone for work or with company. Kitchen was well equipped and spotless. Bedroom and bathroom were even more so. You could tell that extra effort was put into getting the place ready considering the current crisis, helped put me at ease straight away. The neighbours are considerate and friendly. The shops are less than 5 minutes walk away. Full sized fridge and freezer was a pleasant surprise! More storage space meant less trips to the shops!! Thanks for Hosting, will book again when next in Wadebridge area!!

    Joanna2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this Kev's place! It is nested in a beautiful landscape (close to walking paths, sheep, horses, cows) and has all possible comforts (good mattresses, duvets, fridge, freezer, tumble dryer, heating, outdoor fire pit, impeccable private bathrooms, a private BBQ, pans and pots, dishware, silverware). It was great to finally be able to see a starry night again! Kev also gave us very helpful tips on the surroundings! Recommended!

    Alfredo2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in barrels in August, peak school holidays so didn’t really know what to expect. What we got was totally peace, tranquility and fantastic accommodation. Kev was brilliant, gave us all the info we needed. The barrels were great, the kids love it, and the icing on the cake was the fact that there was no one else around other than the sheep in the field next to us. There’s not many places you can stay in the height of summer and be away from the masses but this was one of them. 5 stars, no question. We’ll definitely be back.

    Ian2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a relaxing weekend away, I would highly recommend to stay here. Kev and Laura are amazing hosts who go above and beyond what is expected to make sure you have a fun and memorable stay. You'll have all you need for a barbie with mates and to sit by the fire pit. They also have a cafe called 'Nice baps'. The name lives up to it's reputation! You might also get a chance to catch a magic trick! Definitely visit if you get a chance.

    Jenny2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Basically Superb!!! We had a great stay. The barrels are really clean tidy and a cool place to stay in. Kev and laura were fantastic hosts and gave us some great advice on where to visit and places to eat. The accommodation is really cosy and warm. There are cool little touches too. For example, there are electric sockets and USB ports. There is a kettle, a fridge freezer and some cooking pans etc if you decide to use the BBQ provided. The fire put is cool to make use of in the evenings and toast marshmallows... take your own crockery and linen. Great location.... within half an hour of Port Isaac, Waderbridge,Tintagel, Boscastle, Polzeath, Padstow, Rock Bude.... Terrific!!! We definitely return

    Chris2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a blast staying here, Kev & co are incredibly friendly. We had a good little fire every evening and the location was wonderful. Loved waking up to the sounds of the sheep pasture in the mornings. The rooms are cozy and very well kept, would love to stay here again.

    Marco2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kev and Laura's barrels are a one of a kind experience and location. It was a wonderful stay, really a pleasure to enjoy the surroundings and the functional space! It's all clean and well thought-out, cosy, comfortable! Kev was easy to communicate with and welcomed us warmly. He gave us tips on the area and seemed very knowledgeable! 10/10 would recommend, thanks again!!

  • We had a great week at this lovely, spacious and cosy cottage. It was clean and bright, and well appointed, with everything we needed. Our daughter loved having the upstairs attic style bedroom, and we enjoyed having the wood burning fire. We had no problems finding it thanks to the great directions, and parking was no problem. The pub literally across the road was welcoming and very convenient, and we enjoyed the food. The location was great, with Port Isaac just down the road, and it worked well for other places we wanted to visit. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it.

  • A lovely cosy cottage with easy access to the rest of Cornwall. We will return in future!

  • We have had a fabulous time staying at brook cottage. It has been furnished and decorated to a high standard and feels very homely. The location is great if you want to use it as a base to explore other areas in Cornwall too. Jane has been great to liaise with- thank you!

  • We have stayed for 5 nights at the Brook cottage and loved it every minute! Jane is a wonderful host and was responding to our questions super fast! The cottage is very cute and cosy. Each room has little personal touches . The beds were very comfortable, water pressure was perfect! The kitchen had all we needed for our stay! The upstairs room with little bathroom was perfect for children. We have loved little study room - such a clever idea to use up the corner space! The pub next door serves delicious food and ale! All in all we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the Brook cottage for your Cornish holiday! Thanks a lot!!

  • Brook Cottage is in a great location for getting out and about in Noth Cornwall. There are some beautiful beaches and coves locally for swimming, surfing or snorkelling. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We were a group of 4 and it still felt very spacious and comfy.

    Nicky2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • A stylish, beautiful cottage, situated ideally for exploring the local beaches, restaurants and pubs. It has everything you would need for a relaxing break; our daughter loved her en-suite mezzanine bedroom and we all enjoyed eating in the courtyard before unwinding in the large living room. Trips to St. Kew, Port Isaac and Polzeath are all within a short drive and the boat ferry from Rock to Padstow was a nice way to spend the day. We also ventured up to Treyarnon and Harlyn bays, both perfect for little ones and some breach fun. Overall would highly recommend.

    Christian2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cute little cottage is an absolute gem! Lovingly decorated, clean and full of clever little details. It also has everything you need to cook, relax and generally have an amazing time. Super close from port Isaac too which is very picturesque. Can't recommend it enough.

Three miles from the North Cornish coast; Less that 15 minutes from Polzeath, Rock and Trebarwith, yet set away from it all, Shell Cottage is in the middle a peaceful Cornish hamlet. Inside the house and garden you'll find everything you need to enjoy your Cornish retreat. We also run an award winning Glamping site, so we know how to take care of guests and are always on hand to suggest the best local surf and eating spots.
The house has four bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have king size beds in them, and the other two have bunk beds; It is perfect for two families sharing or a large family group. There are three stylish outdoor eating areas. a BBQ and space for surf boards and wetsuits. The house is very well set up for a beach lifestyle and coastal living. A spacious, fully fitted kitchen/diner adjoins a large living room, with stylish and comfortable furniture, board games, TV, a wireless speaker and a piano. There is a modern family bathroom upstairs and a new WC downstairs. You will find parking for two cars directly outside the house. We provide bed linen, towels, tea towels, tea and coffee making facilities and a smoothy maker. There is a washing machine and a dishwasher.
There are lots of beautiful walks directly from the house. Our favorites are a stroll across the fields to the St. Kew Pub, an award winning country pub with amazing food and drink and a beautiful garden. It takes about half an hour to walk there through a pretty wooded valley (allow a bit longer to come back as it's up hill!) The Gastropod Cafe is a shorter walk up the lane in the magical setting of a tipi site. (About 20 minutes walk or a 10 minute easy bike ride). Highlights are their delicious wood fired pizza, massive breakfasts and salads all grown in their own poly-tunnel. Guests are spoilt for water sports choices. In Rock, Polzeath and Port Quin you can surf, paddle board, sail, kayak, water ski, coasteer and many more. We know most of the water sports providers so if you need help or recommendations we are happy to point you in the right direction. Polzeath is a very good place to learn to surf. There is great dolphin spotting from the cliffs and on boat trips that go from Rock and Padstow. For special meals out we can recommend some great lesser known restaurants while you are here, but if you want to eat at Stein's, Nathan Outlaw's, or Paul Ainsworth's we highly recommend you book before you arrive in Cornwall. My favorite birthday treat is catching the water taxi from Rock to Padstow and going Stein's Bistro. You can join The Camel Trail cycle path at Wadebridge, 10 minutes away. There are loads of places to rent bikes and tandems, so you can travel along the estuary to Padstow, or along the Camel River towards Bodmin Moor. The Camel Valley Vine Yard is on the way and open for wine tasting and tours. We are a stones throw from countless beaches, coves, and cliff paths. This area of Cornwall is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Port Isaac is 10 minutes from our door. The Eden Project is about 45 minutes away. King Arthur's Castle at Tintagel is 20 minutes.

  • We had an amazing stay at Stonelands. Chris and Roy are wonderful hosts! Due to bad traffic we arrived quite late but received a very warm welcome and a nice cup of tea. The room was very nice: clean, warm and cosy; not very spacious but very functional. The location is really good, just a few minutes drive (or a walk) to Port Isaac and Port Gaverne, and the seafront. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious and we ate in the most charming little dinning room. Our lovely hosts gave us a lot of advice what’s worth seeing in the area or where it’s good to go for lunch or dinner. Summing up, it was an excellent value for money, and we can’t recommend this place enough.

Recently restored- self contained unit complete with own bedroom, bathroom, hallway and kitchenette. There is a relaxing atmosphere to the area. You are able to sit outside and enjoy looking out onto the garden and watch the many birds. We welcome well behaved dogs and have provided a small self contained area for them. Five minutes walk from the Camel Trail, many other footpaths and areas for walking. Blisland is a mile away where there is a pub, community shop and post office.
This is a quiet, beautiful area of north Cornwall. Great access to beaches, walks, cycle paths. Parking is in the drive off the road and we are able to offer shelter and security for bikes. There are a few steps to the property. The annexe is locked and secure from other internal rooms.
Brilliantly located for walking and cycling or visiting Cornwall. Good selection of local pubs (Blisland Inn a mile away) The moors and woodland are stunning. Our nearest beaches include Rock, Trebarwith, Polzeath - about 12/15 miles.
  • Fantastic hosts, great communication at all times. The stay was peaceful and in such a beautiful area, our dog Archer loved watching the birds in the garden (as did we!). The surrounding area is great for long walks with stunning views, and perfect to bring dogs along. The place was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed there - Pat and Graham even kindly left us bread and milk. Would happily visit again! Thank you for having us

  • We stayed here for two nights with our dog. We needed a good base to use while we looked at wedding venues around Cornwall and this place was perfect. There was more space than we expecting and lots of little touches that made things easier. Our dog was very relaxed there and had a great time exploring the woods, moors and beaches. Would like to stay here again next time we visit Cornwall.

  • Cute little ‘glamping’ style spot just outside of Rock/Polzeath/Port Isaac.

    Jade2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little space, which looked pretty much the same as we expected it to from the photos. We were very relieved to have air conditioning upstairs next to the bed, and there is WiFi as well as Netflix on the TV. There is a microwave but no fridge which was our only major inconvenience as we had to keep food outside to make sure it was cool + have dry cereal for breakfast! I think a mini fridge would be a really valuable addition. Facilities were camping toilets and showers, not luxurious of course but this is expected.

  • Tiny little cabin on a site for caravans. Very private as in a separate area. Nice little bar onsite with pool tables. Peacocks roam the grounds. Perfect for a night or two and very well located. Would recommend.

Honeysuckle Cottage is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame!
