  • We had such a lovely time- surrounded by the beautiful vineyard, a cozy/secluded yurt to rejuvenate in and restaurants just 4 minutes away. Wow!

  • My husband & I stopped here during our honeymoon. Everything about our stay here was magical & memorable. We were greeted with farm fresh eggs & chilled wine in the fridge. As soon as the wine tasting was finished, which was right when we arrived, the gates were locked & we had the whole vineyard to ourselves. We listened to Fleetwood Mac & the Beatles on the record player while we drank some wine & bbq'd on the provided grill. We took in the beautiful scenery and watched the sun set. It was truly the highlight of our trip. The yurt had everything we needed and more! I would love to stay here again the next time we pass through!

  • We found this place delightful. Very caring hosts and spacious, comfortable stay.

    Linda2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were very fortunate to be able to spend 2 nights here. The weather the first day was sunny and warm - for all that it was early October. The star gazing was extraordinary and a highlight of our stay. Being in the middle of a beautiful vineyard, hearing the calls of the birds, the mooing of the cows, the rooster crowing in the morning - our own little Eden. The bed is so comfortable you will not want to get up. Gazing up through the window at the top of the yurt will put you in a zen-like state. Bliss! I have never experienced anything like it and really look forward to coming back. Thank you, Tyler!

  • Very spacious-not your typical state park yurt! Beds were comfortable, setting was very relaxing and quiet. Loved listening to the frogs. The calves across the road were cute and not too loud. Turned on the space heaters before we got there which took off the chill on the rainy day we arrived. Wine and eggs in the fridge were a nice perk/surprise. Enjoy your stay-we did.

    Paul2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at the yurt. Words can't describe how relaxing it is there! We so needed a weekend unplugged and this is the perfect spot. The wines are amazing and so convenient having the tasting the tasting room steps away. We enjoyed the sunset by a fire the last night and saw many stars. Sweet touches in the yurt... Very clean and the bed is way comfortable! I can't wait to come back. Thank you to Tyler for helping get everything set up and Bonnie for being a gracious hostess. We felt right at home. Cheers!

    Janet2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We liked the yurt so much we made a return visit back on our long road trip from Redondo Beach to Seattle. The second visit was just as relaxing as the first. Their recommendation for a local restaurant was superb. We will definitely make a return visit anytime we travel up the coast.

    charles2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • I can't believe how beautiful this place is. The yurt itself was amazing too. It has every amenity and is peaceful and private. I didn't hear one, single July 4th firework! I want to come here every summer.

Relax and revive in this artistic 'cabin' with wonderful views of historic Glenn Creek from every room. An architectural dream, you enter this lodge style home through a pivoting hobbit style front door with hardware from the 1800's.
Highlights of this original home include a gourmet kitchen with labradorite granite counters, 800 year old juniper tree spiral stair case, huge beams and exposed rafters, a sauna, and a romantic wood stove. Also each upstairs bedroom has a hanging bed with three 8 foot skylights above for indoor star gazing. Original artworks from local artists are throughout the home. Many pleasantries await the curious such as embedded fossils in the cracked mud walls. Nestled amongst towering fir and cedar trees, with windows everywhere, you'll feel and see nature's presence. This home site has a remarkably peaceful way about it. Check out more pictures at www.belowthefallslodge.com Recently featured in Southern Oregon Magazine and KCBY 11 TV's ~In Focus~ 'Goin' Green' and Oregon's Solar Home Tour, this is a unique 'green' home. This home was built with environmentally friendly materials. Building with little impact on the surroundings was very important to us during construction. The myrtle hardwood floor in the kitchen and living room was milled on site which came from trees that stood where the house is now. Same story for the beautiful maple flooring in the ½ bath. All of the large beams and fir flooring came from two 4' thick 104 year old douglas fir trees which also stood and were milled where the house is now. The fir trees sprouted after the last forest fire that came through the canyon. One of our neighbors fell a sixty five year old redwood that was over six feet thick! We used some of it as a wonderful wainscot paneling throughout the house. All of the finishes used are no or low VOC. Surrounding the house is native vegetation, huge trees and a few herbs and spices for cooking. You'll enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with labradorite granite counters. The kitchen island has a new five burner gas stove with a convection oven and warming oven. The island has plenty of granite and wood counter space. Hanging from the exhaust hood are stainless, non-stick, and cast iron cookware. Also included are coffee and a grinder, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, utensils, chef knives, glasses and frosty cocktail glasses in the freezer. The dining room table has a river view and can seat eight. There is also seating for three at the island bar. From the kitchen you can visit with the folks in the living room thanks to the open floor plan. Beside the wood stove are two chairs and the futon couch with reading lamp. A CD changer and TV with a DVD player and VHS machine are in the downstairs bedroom. Bring your favorite videos or browse our selection of movies. The property has 150 feet of creek frontage with great views of Glenn creek, the forest and distant cliffs. Enjoy wildlife viewing with River Dippers, Chipmunks, Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, Screech Owls, Pileated Wood Peckers, Elk, an occasional Bald Eagle or River Otter and other wildlife from the house and back deck. Build a fire and have lunch on the nearby picnic table and benches.
The narrow canyon valley below Golden and Silver Falls is wonderful. I grew up here moved away, and came back for the natural beauty and solitude of the Oregon rain forest. This area has been a favorite of mine since I was a youngster. In 2005 when the bare land became available I jumped on it and started a three year art project which became Below the Falls Lodge.
  • Shane's home below the falls is simply amazing. I had only been able to spend two nights there, but they were peaceful, calm and memorable. The home itself is a piece of art. Warm, rustic and beautiful. Shane is incredibly responsive to all questions, and very professional and kind. I would encourage anyone reading this to come share this experience, you would not regret it. I could not think of anything that could have improved the weekend. (The walk to the falls is breathtaking as well)

    Robert2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Shane has done a great job setting up the lodge with top quality accommodation! It's soooo peaceful being the last house on the road :) and the sauna TOP it off.

    Adrian 2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Good, large place to getaway with riverside views. Wish we could've stayed longer to enjoy the sauna, the hiking, and Coos Bay. We recommend Coach House restaurant in town!

  • This listing description was as described, and wonderful! I had had my eye on it since early September and finally got the chance to stay there with some friends in January. It was quite difficult to get to, along lots of winding roads, so try not to drive it at night, and try to do all your shopping before arriving - you will not want to leave once you're there. Love the sound of the creek babbling, I wish it was warm enough to leave the windows open so we could hear it all the time! The lodge is located right at the entrance of a walking (or driving) trail to see Silver and/or Golden Falls. This was awesome! It was great having such a great walk/natural feature to see so close to home base. As for the house itself, the decor in the house was very eclectic and amazing, and lots of sleeping space for a bigger party (we had 6). Fully equipped kitchen, wood burning fireplace, or electric heat if you can't keep the fire going. Two barbecues, a sauna, hammock by the river, what else could you ask for? Ah yes I know.... the Internet. Now this is a mixed review on the Internet. I only mention it because on the listing it says there's internet, but when we got there there was none. This only caused problems because we had left some of our school work to be done up there, but could no longer complete it on time. Once we got that out of the way, it was actually very nice to be "off-the-grid"- made for a lot more.... what do they call it, "conversation?". Overall a great stay, and would love to return in the summertime.

    Andrea2015-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience, Shane was very helpful and has build a fantastic house!

    Charlie2016-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. So peaceful wonderfully relaxing accommodations. All the extra touches in the home made it a perfect vacation. Appreciated the directions and recommendations for things to do in surrounding area. Although to be honest we enjoyed cabin so much we never left!

    Adrienne2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • From the incredible beauty of the house and property to the sounds of the stream out back, this home is magical.

    Stephanie Hope2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 2 days Labor Day weekend and absolutely loved it! My 4 and 6 year old loved exploring the creek and just being out around the property. The house is fully equipped with everything you would need, just bring food and your favorite drink and enjoy!! The house is about 50 minutes from town but a nice drive by the river, creek and surrounding country and woods. Shane was a great host and let us know where to go visit and eat while there. We cannot wait to go back!!

  • There isnt much more to ad that hasnt been said before: the cabin is just beautiful. Very modern and clean, great kitchen, lovely fireplace, great view through the huge windows. We absolutely loved our 2 night stay and will come back if we are in the area again. Geraldine is a great host that cares about her guests!

    Sandra2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Welcomed to this cozy cabin with kettle corn and a nice note. Geraldine was flexible with a date change. The cabin is comfort and luxury in one. Very comfortable bed in the loft. The windows overlooking the river and the quiet rain made this a perfect retreat!

  • Such an amazing little nook with everything in place to feel really comfortable. The entire place felt like it had been thought through and well cared for. The giant windows facing the creek were amazing. We didn't want to leave after 3 nights. Definitely would come back.

    Amy2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • First I’d like to say that our visit was way too short. Geraldine’s home is amazing as it’s location is magical surrounded by trees, streams, waterfalls, great hiking and llamas. The home itself is extremely clean and has everything a family could need for a very pleasant adventure in the woods. The property is large with plenty of space inside and out to move around. The neighbors are pleasant and the hikes are very close with a range of levels of difficulty for every adventurer. I would definitely love to visit again for longer stay.

    Simca2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a great choice. The cabin was very clean and very nicely updated. The fire pit by the creek was our favorite.

    Elsa2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • We never met Matt and Geraldine, but we could feel your presence everywhere. The house was fantastic. We had a little problem with the heating. There seemed to be a source of heat, heating the house and we had no way to cool off. You should consider air-conditioning the cabin. Other than that, the surroundings were magnificent; more beautiful than anything I could ever have dreamed of. I didnt get to meet your Llamas but on the way out I saw them fenced in at a neighbors garden. Thank you both so much for your warm hospitality, magnificent surroundings and a longing I will be feeling for a long time.

    £57 Glenn Creek Cabin
    130 reviews
Tucked away in the canyons of the Oregon Coast Range this cozy little cabin is located three miles from two of the most impressive waterfalls. Open all year are the wonderful hiking trails at Golden and Silver Falls State Park. The road to the cabin follows the Millicoma River through farmlands, wetlands, and is county and state maintained. To reach Coos Bay, takes 30 minutes, the coast and/or sand dunes is another 15 minutes.
Built in the early 60's as a fishing retreat, and completely remodeled, this little cabin is located right on the river and in the heart of old logging history. With a bright open fully-equipped kitchen, and living area, and heated by a gas fireplace, it makes winter or summer a perfect time to relax and enjoy the scenery. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, with lots of comforters and pillows, with a small rustic-built-in bunk bed in a small room right off of the main bedroom. During summer or winter, enjoy watching blue heron, ducks, deer, otters, kingfishers, eagles and other river wildlife. You may even see a bear or two enjoying the apples in our orchard. Chinook salmon spawn in front of the cabin from November to January and steelhead fishing starts mid-December and runs through March. Trout season runs from May 26th through October 31st. In the fall experience the beautiful colors of nature, and in the winter perhaps a snowfall or two. Spring brings early wildflowers like the Chocolate Lily, the white and pink Trillium, and the beautiful native rhododendrons in colors from white to deep purple. During the months of July through late September, fill your basket with fresh blackberries or spend time picking apples in our orchard. In October, visit the Mahaffy Ranch in the town of Allegany, and pick out that perfect pumpkin. Enjoy their corn maze and cannon, and the best apple cider in the State! (We have provided several books on our area's local history, covering logging, legends and mysteries, along with vintage photos covering the original town of Allegany and Golden & Silver Falls. Hike above Golden Falls and explore the old homestead, making for an exciting day trip.)
Located on the East Fork of the Millicoma River, and surrounded by the 92,000 acre Elliott State Forest and the 210,000 acre Weyerhaeuser Millicoma Tree Farm as neighbors, you'll enjoy the beauty of the Glenn Creek forest canyon. Not isolated nor secluded but private on the river side, the Little Cabin sits 50 feet from the river.

  • My husband and I planned to stay at Dee's house after a long hike. We were SO glad to have the cabin after a long day. The bed is unbelievably comfortable, and it was so nice to wake up to the creek behind the house in the morning. We also picked Dee's house because it is so close to Golden and Silver falls and we were not disappointed!

    kendyl2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cabin and didn't want to leave. The cabin has everything you need to feel comfortable. The view of the river from the back window is amazing. The drive to the cabin was beautiful and it is located near 2 epic waterfalls. I will definitely recommend this place to others.

  • Wish we could have stayed more nights. What a beautiful setting! We took the trip to the Falls, and it was worth the 10 minute drive and 10 minute hike to the falls. The cabin was immaculate and every need we could think of was taken care of. We loved the location and loved the cabin. We had a very relaxing time. We just wish we could have stayed another night or two to get the full effect of this peaceful location.

  • Here are the problems I had in order of noticing them: - Drove 9 overnight to skip traffic, asked about early check-in even though I knew we may not get it because we were ~8 hours early, got a terse response that this wasn't possible and wasn't given any suggestions on what we could do with our time. Considering this is a service industry, it's become an expectation. - Found out the 3rd bedroom downstairs is only accessible by walking through the downstairs bathroom or from under the porch. Considering such close proximity, I would've liked to know about this first. - Bathroom proximity became even more of an inconvenience when we found out the upstairs bathroom toilet didn't flush. - We saw people with flashlights trying to open the garage gate the evening of our second night and, after getting over the anxiety of a potential break-in, found out these were our neighbors staying in the attached unit. I didn't know how close our units were or how much interaction we'd have until they started moving in. No privacy on the shared porch, shared driveway, shared fire pit, or shared river dock. Wish I'd known at least so I could expect social interaction with people other than the group I went with. Overall, I LOVED this place. It was exactly what I wanted and I don't personally mind the above inconveniences. If you like the photos, don't mind the lack of privacy in the case you have neighbors during your stay, and don't mind the relatively more expensive fees associated, you'll love it too. The area/river was absolutely beautiful. Even though I don't think the property manager treated me all that well, I would maybe rent this again at the same price and definitely rent it again if it were less expensive.

  • What a joy to stay here! Everything was clean, fresh, and exactly what I needed. You would have to go a long way to find hosts more kind, gentle, and knowledgeable of their environment/community. The animals (cat, dogs, chickens, donkeys, wild turkeys..with chicks, deer, and songbirds all seem to imbibe you with a sense of "you are welcome here." It's just a few minutes drive into Elkton where you can find superb food and locals who treat you like visiting family or friends.

  • My fiancee and I lost our accommodation in Reedsport last minute, and Karin was extremely prompt in responding to our inquiries and pre-approving us. The property was about an hour drive to where we spent most of our time during our vacation in Oregon. Karin and her husband were lovely hosts with beautiful property and lovely animals. The donkeys bray in the morning, but we are early risers so it didn't bother us. The studio was a decent size, had basic amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again! Make sure you get breakfast at Arlene's!

  • If you you're looking for an experience in the deep deep woods this is the place! Karin and Kester are wonderfull and personable poeple. We enjoyed very much our conversations with them.

  • Karin's gorgeous property in a beautiful part of Oregon was a quiet, restful place to stay. It was clean and nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed. My hosts were very attentive and friendly and made sure that I was always comfortable. The cute little town of Elkton is nearby and the coast is about 50 minutes away where one can find fantastic hiking and beautiful beaches. I highly recommend Karin's place. I hope to return in the future.

  • Quiet, quaint, and of the beaten path. Karin and her husband were excellent hosts. They were available to assist with our needs during our stay. They are a short drive to the town of Elkton, where there are a few places to eat, as well as a winery. The cottage is private with its own private bathroom and shower. Modest kitchenette allows for simple meal preparation. Very relaxing country/wooded setting perfect for escaping the chaos of the city for a recharge. We woke up to a surprise snowfall the morning of our departure, but it was melting off as we prepared to load our car. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Karin's accommodations!

  • Absolutely beautiful setting and wonderful hosts! We will definitely be visiting again!

    Katie 2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio is the perfect place for escaping the city. The description of the property is quite accurate. We arrived at a different than planned check in time, but Karen and Kester were there and ready to accommodate us in any way. The donkeys were great! The property was great! We would definitely stay there again.

'The Tuckaway' is in a private location surrounded by 5 acres, some of which is occupied by miniature donkeys. Come and enjoy our 'low tech' set up (no wifi, but AT&T and Verizon cell phone coverage only), minutes from the scenic Umpqua River. Elkton is close by with restaurants, award winning wineries and Fort Umpqua. Explore the stunning Oregon coast and the Dunes, only 45 minutes drive away.
'The Tuckaway' is essentially an open plan arrangement with a privacy screen for the main bed area. An outside patio space is also provided with barbecue, table and chairs.
A scenic and quiet location surrounded by farmland, but close to amenities.
  • This is a wonderful, beautiful and quiet place to relax. Karin and Kester were extremely helpful and welcoming. They even let us know about fires at Crater Lake, which we were going to next but weren't aware of the fires because we had been camping. Their miniature donkeys are just adorable!! Great place, great people!

  • Karin's guest house was perfect for our stay. Our kids loved the huge yard to run in after a long day's drive. The home was immaculately clean and comfortable. Upon our arrival Karin took the kids to pick Blueberries in her garden which they just loved. They also enjoyed petting the mini donkeys. The property is beautiful and quiet. Such a relaxing vibe.

  • Karin and Kester's property is beautiful and their space is equally as lovely. Recently renovated, clean, quiet and private. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a getaway in the beautiful Elkton River Valley!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The surroundings were so beautiful, quiet and peaceful--great space to barbecue and dine outdoors. Karin was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was super clean, cute and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

  • The Tuckaway was a wonderful experience! The home is lovely and comfortable, spacious and uncluttered. The grounds were beautiful to look at and we so enjoyed picking berries and visiting friendly donkeys. We only stayed en route to Ashland but are already planning to return next year to the Elkton area, which has a lot to recommend it, and to have a longer visit at Karin and Kester's special cottage.

    Amy2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Karin's Tuckaway is a cute, polished house on her property that is better than the pictures! With everything we needed, hospitable hosts, a beautiful location and more, there wasn't anything else we would have asked for.

    Meredith2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • If there is an available date, TAKE IT. The pictures do not do this property justice. It is a simple, but beautiful unit on a super secluded, quiet property. Karin and her husband Kester were unbelievably hospitable as soon as we arrived and even asked what could be better before we left. Super hosts! My two sons (15 and 10) absolutely loved the donkeys. The open grassy yard behind the rental was perfect for throwing frisbee. There was a small patio with table and chairs in a private area for us to use too. We were even fortunate to be there on a night when Karin needed "help" harvesting her blueberries. YUM! There was no A/C or WiFi, as listed, but we were able to turn on fans which proved sufficient for comfortable sleeping. The beds were very comfortable with down comforters. Most of the unit is furnished with IKEA flare which I love. I did have AT&T and Verizon signal so a MiFi would work for basic email needs. Simple, functional, affordable and beautiful! Go there!

    Jenae2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet setting, lovely space. Enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evening and again in the morning to eat breakfast. Karin and Kester are very gracious hosts. Wish our stay could have been longer

This charming 2bd cabin has a rustic log interior and is set back 150 yards from the Umpqua River. Surrounded by towering tree lined hills, and always a good 10 degrees warmer than the coast, this is the perfect spot to swim, fish, and relax.
Just 18 miles up Oregon Scenic Highway 38 from Reedsport, is the historic town of Scottsburg. One of Oregons oldest communities; there is not much here now except for a number of homes along the banks of the Umpqua River. The temperature is often a good ten degrees warmer than the coast, and with the towering cliffs of pine trees, and the river flowing peacefully by, you will realise this is a very special place. This charming cabin has a rustic log interior. The cabin has a full kitchen with all the modern amenities, a full bathroom. There are two bedrooms - the master with queen bed, a desk, and storage. The walls have a small gap up the top so some light and noise does transfer from room to room. Most folks never notice it. The second room is smaller with two twin beds. The cottage is set about 150 feet from the River on over an acre of property. The cabin shares the property with a main house that is not rented out or used when the cabin is rented. Please note you are not able to see the river completely from the cabin, as the lot has clusters of trees that provide shade. This is a perfect place to have a private getaway or bring the kids for swimming and fishing in the river during the day and campfires in the evening. (Please note there is a complete fire ban in the county in peak summer season - that means no campfires, fireworks, or charcoal grills). We do provide a gas grill in order to BBQ. The river is tidal, and this is the last stretch of the Umpqua you can get a motor boat to. Beyond the bridge it is too rocky, and shallow. There is a dock, and boat ramp just two miles away. We can provide referrals to a number of excellent local fishing guides if you would like to try your hand. Our dock is in the river during summer months only. Its the perfect place to sit, and soak up the sun, or jump off into the river to cool down. Scottsburg is less than twenty minutes to the west of Elkton, where you can go wine tasting, visit the Butterfly Pavilion and Education Center, or tour Fort Umpqua - a replica of the Hudson Bay Trading Company fur trading outpost. Scottsburg is 20 minutes east from Reedsport. Activities in Reedsport and Winchester Bay include; Dean’s Creek Elk Viewing, Umpqua Discovery Center, Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, ocean fishing, crabbing, sand dunes, and much more!! There is a general store in Scottsburg just a short drive away,or the nearest shops are in Reedsport. Please note that AT&T does not work here. Verizon, and Sprint seem to. We love it because we leave our phones off, and our troubles goodbye. There is room to park your small RV, boat trailer etc. No cable TV but we have a good selection of videos, books, or family games. Please note that no pets are allowed at this time. If you have any further questions about the area, or property please do not hesitate to email or call. Area Fishing Guide The Umpqua has one of the most varied river fisheries in Oregon, including a world-class smallmouth bass fishery and strong runs of spring and fall chinook. The Umpqua’s north and south forks come together northwest of Roseburg, and the mainstem flows more than 100 miles northwest to Winchester Bay. Smallmouth bass fishing begins at the top of tidewater and continues up to the forks and into the South Umpqua. Late winter and early spring offer trophy fishing for the Umpqua’s largest bass, while the warm summers bring fishing so fast and furious that an angler could tally 200 fish in a very busy day. Spring chinook are fished from late March into July, with best catches usually in April and May. Fall chinook start moving up in August and September, although the bigger fishery for them is in Winchester Bay (see below). Hatchery coho are planted in the South Fork and move through the mainstem quickly after the first fall rains. Both winter and summer steelhead fishing can be good, with summer fish peaking in June and July on their way to the North Umpqua. The larger winter run sometimes includes a fishery for wild steelhead, and hatchery fish on their way to the South Umpqua are present in good numbers. There is usually good steelhead fishing from December into March. The Umpqua also has a good run of shad that arrives in May and June. Shad are fished from Scottsburg upstream, including popular spots at Sawyer Rapids, Yellow Creek and the forks. More: Umpqua River Smallmouth Bass Fishing (Spring Tactics) Umpqua River Smallmouth Bass Fishing (Summer Tips) Umpqua River, North Fork Treasured for its good runs of wild and hatchery summer steelhead, the gorgeous North Umpqua is also fished for wild winter steelhead, spring chinook and fin-clipped coho, and it offers fine trout fishing above Soda Springs Reservoir. A mix of hatchery and wild summer steelhead enters the North Umpqua in June, with catches high in July and August and again in October and November after the water cools. The river’s winter run gets going well in January but these days is primarily wild fish. Spring chinook are present from April through October, with peak catches in May through July. Trout fishing is best above Soda Springs Reservoir for both rainbows and browns. There is a popular fly fishing-only stretch in the 31 miles of river below the reservoir’s dam. Winchester Bay The Umpqua River’s bay at Reedsport and Gardiner is a great producer of fall chinook salmon, and it also has good numbers of fin-clipped coho salmon, sturgeon, striped bass, perch, crabs and softshell clams. Fall chinook fishing is very popular, providing catches from July through September. Hatchery coho – along with lots of wild fish – are caught in good numbers in late summer and early fall. Fishing for white sturgeon is good in winter into spring. Striped bass move between Winchester Bay and the lower Smith River, with some good bay fishing from June to October. Perch and rockfish are caught in numerous locations from boats, jetties and docks. Crabbing is popular from boats and a pier in Half Moon Bay. Softshell clams are abundant on the flats off Bolon Island and elsewhere. Boats from the ports also access offshore fishing for salmon and other species. Area Hunting Great local hunting in the valley and surrounding hills. This cabin is the perfect location in the fall/ winter season to base yourself for outdoor adventure in the area. Scottsburg is located close to the Siuslaw, Melrose and Tioga units - home to bear, cougar, deer, elk, wild turkey, game birds and more! See local fishing information at bottom of this page. Plenty of room for a group of hunters or fishermen to relax an unwind after a day on the river or on the trail.
  • We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin on the Umpqua River. Lots of things to do indoors and out. My son loved the Wii, and my daughter and I watched one of the movies provided. Also LOTS of board games to choose from. Having our morning tea on the dock next to the river was a highlight!

A nice sunny room, decorated in a "garden" style. There is a shared bath that can be locked off when in use. The beds can be either 2 twins or a king. We are pet friendly and have a fenced in area where they can play and conduct their "business". No extra charge for pets.
  • Chrystine and Nile made us and our dogs feel immediately at home. Their property was conveniently located to shopping, a trip to the river, a walk through the woods, or even to the coast. The house is a must see, as it boasts English Manor. Breakfast served in formal fashion, we felt like royalty. Ask for Nile's extra fluffy pancakes and Chrystine's special peach jam. Fresh eggs are provided directly from the free range chickens that roam the property. Beautifully landscaped in respect to the spectacular territorial views from every window. You will feel truly transformed to another place and time. Quiet and secluded, it is a wonderful place to unwind, take a walk, or sit in one of the ample comfortable antique chairs for a read. Let the crickets and wind through the trees serenade you. The fresh air is intoxicating! Awaken to roosters crowing and breathtaking sunrises that rival the magnificent sunsets. A local restaurant is only a few miles down the road. The Landing restaurant overlooks a tranquil Umpqua River, the food and service outstanding.

Great vintage apartment overlooks Scholfield Slough and wetlands. Has stairs, fenced yard w doggie door. Right on the coast but out of the fog! Has its own private entrance. I am dog friendly but I do want to like to know if your pet will be accompanying you.
We call it "the Crows nest" because you are up high and have the most wonderful view looking out over the slough and the wetlands.
Walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. Great levee walk.
  • Kathy's place is just as described. Perfect for our stay and our dog. We found a wonderful dog park only minutes away where we could through a ball and give our dog exercise.

  • We only had a brief stay in Reedsport but the Crow's Nest made it a wonderful one. Arriving later in the evening and with a dog Kathy suggested take out from the Harbor Light, which was wonderful. The apartment has beautiful views and every part was fantastic. Both owner and apartment were very dog friendly. Note that you should park in the back.

  • Kathy's apartment is in an older home located across the street from a scenic wetland. There is a great view of the wetland and wildlife from the apartment living room. Bring your binoculars. Kathy greeted us upon arrival and was available during our stay by text. Parking is at the rear of the property and a grocery store a very short walk away. The bed was very comfortable, sleeping with the window open to allow the cool breezes. Came from Crater Lake on the way up the Oregon coast.

My place is close to Outdoor lakes, rivers, ocean, forests, Oregon dunes.. You’ll love my place because of its cozy, affordable and close too recreation.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). My place is located on the canal, a water body, that connects North and South lakes of Tenmile Lakes. Check out a Youtube video we made using a drone. Search Youtube for 'Airbnb Tenmile Retreat'.
My place is a well maintained manufactured home with new flooring and paint. It has a covered parking area, a hot tub, and a back area that overlooks canal. It is a safe place for kids and pets since it is back from the main road. For a baby/toddler, a pack n play fold up crib and and attach to a chair type hi-chair are available.

  • This location is a gem on the canal of Ten Mile Lake. It's great for lake activities, as well as close to beaches and coastal activities. We enjoyed a visit to The Sea Lion Caves as well as an exciting trip on sand rails exploring the beautiful dunes of Florence. Glad we brought our kayaks to paddle around Ten Mile. The house is situated right on the canal and it was fun just sitting watching people go by in boats, hawks flying overhead, hummingbirds galore, and deer going through the large grassy area below the house. The hot tub was fabulous to soak in at the end of a busy day. The house had everything you could think of- BBQ, toaster, coffee maker, blender, spices, etc. A great location for sure and all of the hosts were so friendly and helpful.

  • This home suited our family of 7 perfectly. We just needed a place to stay for one night as we were driving through the area. The hot tub was very clean and was positioned in a private corner. The entire space was impeccably clean, quiet and convenient. Our baby slept in the provided pack and play—-it was practically brand new. Comfortable beds, nice linens. We were very happy with our stay.

My place is close to outdoor lakes, rivers, ocean, forests, Oregon dunes. You’ll love my place because of its cozy, affordable and close to recreation. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). My place is located on the canal, a water body, that connects North and South Lakes of Tenmile Lakes. Check out our Tenmile Retreat video on Youtube.
My place is a well maintained single-wide trailer that used to serve as an office. We recently added new flooring and paint. It has a covered parking area and a deck that overlooks the wetlands and canal. It is at the end of the driveway and a quiet and safe place for kids and pets since it is back from the main road. For a baby/toddler, a pack-n-play fold up crib and and attach to a chair type hi-chair are available.
My place is within the city limits of Lakeside, Oregon. Within a mile of the property, there is a grocery store, 3 resturants and bars, a liquor store, a post office, library, multiple churches, 2 campgrounds, a county boat ramp, and a marina. You can rent kayaks and boats from N. Lake Resort RV, Osprey Resort Campground, or Ringo's Marina. Just 3 to 10 miles away are OHV access to the dunes staging areas like Spinreel, Winchester Bay, Hauser, and Boxcar at Horsfall and non-motorized dune and lake trails, like Haul Lake, Tugman Park, Dellanback trailhead, and Lake Marie. The nearest beaches are in Winchester Bay, North Bend, and Charleston. Distance to nearby towns North Bend/Coos Bay = 12 miles Charleston = 25 miles Winchester Bay = 8 miles Reedsport = 12 miles
  • We had such a great stay at John's place that we stayed an additional week. I would recommend it to anyone looking in that area.

  • The stay was amazing! Very cozy and homey. Dog friendly too. Will definitely plan another visit.

  • This is a nice, cozy, and quiet place to stay with a limited view of the canal. It is in a great location for fall salmon fishing and there are quite a few fresh water lakes within 15 miles either direction, in addition to the Ten Mile Lakes where this is located. The host is fantastic! He always responded in a timely manner and was attentive to needs. I also got to meet his wife and children when they were launching a boat in the canal and had a very enjoyable conversation with them.

  • This is the most perfect place to stay! It is quiet and peaceful. Just as described and the host was very friendly. We will definatly stay again! Thank you!!

  • Nicely located accomodation, spacious (even for a party of four), quiet surroundings. Lakeside is kinda laidback as well. Great for going outdoor e.g. the John Dellenback trail through the sand dunes to the Pacific shores. Ideal for water sport lovers (swimming, canoeing/kayking).

    Laurens2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Charming place, private and serene. We loved how dog friendly the location was. Host was kind enough to provide take out menus to the local eateries, as well as brochures for local sight seeing and attractions in the area. Check in and check out was a breeze. Had all the amenities and more, I actually should have packed lighter! lol .....Our family would definitely stay there again.

    Iris2017-07-29T00:00:00Z

  • We had a nice stay at this house. A great space for a group. The fifth bed is an elderly pull-out sofa which is pretty drastically uncomfortable- we used a couch as the fifth bed instead. But there was still a nice amount of space and we really enjoyed the deck looking out over the bay!

Our Victorian themed suite has a separate entrance, is in a quiet neighborhood, 2 blocks from the 101 and is close to all the natural beauties of the Central Oregon Coast. Nearby are a killer Mexican restaurant and a local brewery!
It is private even though part of the house, with its own entrance and private bathroom and coffee bar, as well as small frig and microwave. We live in the other part of the house.
Trees everywhere. Great place for walks. Awesome Mexican restaurant two blocks up as well as a killer pie shop across the 101.
  • This place is a treasure, if you want to be left alone. The "room" is a separate apartment attached to the house, with its own entrance. It's beautifully decorated and fitted out, with a good heater, extra blankets, a huge bathroom, and a nice little kitchenette area with fridge, microwave, and basic utensils. The quality of everything is top-notch. Karen sets things up so you can arrive, stay, and leave without ever meeting her, which I appreciated, but if you're looking to socialize go elsewhere. The decor is funky, a little weird, charming, tasteful--don't miss the boat full of toons on the bathroom wall. You're on a quiet street but in walking distance of much of Reedsport. All in all, a real find.

  • Karen's place was a delight to spend a night in. She was welcoming from the time we first booked. The room was adorable and comfortable with an entire private bathroom. Plus, the location is right near some great locations to take hikes, get a view of the dunes, or go whale watching! We wish we could have stayed longer!

  • The space was very clean when my wife and I arrived. Check-in was super easy and it was all simple to do without any assistance. Everything worked the way it was supposed to. The Internet was reliable and adequate. For my wife and I because we were on a road trip it would have been nice to have a little bit larger fridge and one that had a freezer. That's just a preference for what we were doing though. I will say that I am six foot and my feet kept on going up against the end part of the bed frame. The bed also sagged a bit on the outside edge enough to where I thought I might fall off. The bed was just a little small for my wife and I's taste.

    James2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very pleasant experience. Located in a quaint town, Reedsport. We were able to find the place with no problem. We came in late so didn't get to meet our hosts but the room was very cute and clean. I appreciated the essential oil selection and the diffuser :) Bed was verrrry comfortable! If you're passing though, check out double d on the rocks! Hole in the all place with the most delicious oysters. Everything was amazing. Perfect evening on the road.

    Margaux2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed just one brief night at Karen's place but it was a wonderful stay. Such a calm and tranquil space. It's very private and has tiny thoughtful things in the space such as coffee, tea, soap, towels, and helpful notes. The bed was the best. So so comfy. I like private and non intrusive. This space was everything and more. Thank you Karen for a peaceful good nights sleep.

  • This was a beautiful secluded apartment of Damie's home. We were greeted by the family dog and Damie's mom as Damie was off at college. We were welcomed as though we were part of family. The place is not far from Coos Bay and when we weren't traveling down the coast we enjoyed the beauty, quiet and weather of sitting out by pool watching the sunset.

  • Beautiful setting, very clean and spacious. The bed is super comfortable!! It was a cozy stop on our drive up the coast. We wish we had more time to enjoy the hot tub and fire pit but we arrived late and it was raining. I would recommend this place. Thank you, Stacey

  • Beautiful beach themed large room with living room, small kitchen and large bathroom. Amazing views of redwoods. Beautiful pool though we didn't use it while we were there. Be sure to check out the Hilltop Restaurant for dinner- was amazing! Bring a few staples with you since the location is pretty secluded.

Nestled 1/4 mile north of the Winchester Bay marina is the Oregon Coast RV Resort. Our forested resort is surrounded by dramatic natural beauty. You won't find a better spot to enjoy a long term stay or a short vacation on the central Oregon coast. Enjoy hiking, ATVing or a simple nature walk around the many lakes, sand dunes, rivers and forests. Fishing and crabbing a half mile away on the popular Umpqua river inlet from the Pacific Ocean. Grocery markets/Pharmacy/Hospital a couple miles away.
What makes Oregon Coast RV resort unique is the beautiful forest setting, with an abundance of native Oregon Coast Cedar, Spruce, and Alder trees, surrounded by Blackberry, Willows, and Rhododendrons. Enjoy all the Coast has to bring, such as boating, hiking, fishing and nature walks just minutes away. There are plenty of wonderful local restaurants to enjoy the Coast’s natural bounty. Whether you’re staying long term, working locally, or simply enjoying a short vacation, you’ll enjoy every bit of the Coast right here.
Just minutes away you’ll find what appears to look like a sleepy New England coastal town called Winchester Bay. You’ll discover plenty of stores, gift shops and even a bakery. Beyond that, a couple miles north is the city of Reedsport which has two grocery stores and several other accommodations of any small town.

  • This is a lower cost alternative to staying in a hotel room. It's a nice trailer, fairly new, and perfect for 2 people (it could accommodate 4, I think, if 2 are tiny and don't have much stuff). Lots of cubby space to put clothes, laundry, shoes, food in the kitchen. For us it worked well, because we just needed a few days and weren't planning on spending a lot of time in our room. It was clean and organized and simple to stay here. Be sure to get instructions on how to work all the "conveniences of home" inside the trailer -- like the heater, the lights, the stove, the oven.

    Megan2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • A PLEASANT surprise! I wasn't sure about staying in a trailer, particularly during cold weather. The heat was great (also fyi has AC for summer!) and it was immaculately clean. Also a pleasant surprise. There was clearly thought put into making it a nice stay for the customer. Richard was available immediately on the app for any questions. The price I thought was GREAT for the value. FYI, it is right on Highway 101 - so if super amount of quiet is important to you - consider that fact, particularly I imagine in summer. And, note, there is no hair dryer - important to note for winter! And, that all furniture is leather-like - so cold in winter so take an extra blanket to sit on top of on them. Overall, would totally recommend!

It's a beautiful 45-minute drive to the North Umpqua River for world-famous fly-fishing, rafting and many miles of hiking trails and waterfalls. From there it's only another hour and a half to Crater Lake! There is a great "treehouse deck" overlooking the water with a small BBQ grill and a gorgeous view of our secluded swimming hole on the Umpqua River (swimming for all ages, and I have two kayaks to borrow!). Sit on our little river dock to fish for small-mouth bass or take your boat out for steehead and trout (and bass, I think!).... fun for the whole family. Large outdoor play structure for children, plus 2 high chairs and a Pack-n-Play. I have two comfy covered-foam single mattresses, and four tents for camping, with pads! Lots of outdoor games for your three acres, and indoor ones for rainy days, along with an extensive movie and book collection, for young and old amd everywhere in the middle. Large gas grill; shade-dappled front deck overlooking Valley's End Farm ---and its spring lambs....with the Callahan mountains across the Umpqua River and the hazelnut orchard next door. In season, we have many kinds of fruit, veggies and berries you can pick--and ask if the hens are laying! The back (private) deck overlooks the pinot noir vineyard, the children's play structure and Mt. Tyee. The light-filled house is homey, with comfortable furniture and antiques, books and historical Oregon photographs everywhere. There is original art in all the rooms, courtesy of my plein-air painter friends and artistic guests! Go wine tasting minutes away! The Umpqua Valley is now the 5th-most visited wine region in the country, and our many beautiful wineries (such as Prayer Rock, Abacela and Hillcrest) win international awards. Crater lake is a 2 1/2-hour drive along the amazing North Umpqua. Golfing is six miles away, boat landing 1 mile. 1 hour to the wild Oregon coast for beach combing, whale-watching, charter fishing or storm-watching. Don't forget the Wildlife Safari, if you have kids! Half an hour brings you to drive among the free-ranging giraffes, inquisitive emus, snorting rhinos... .A quarter-mile away from us is the Lighthouse Center Bakery and Cafe--- wonderful (and generous!) vegetarian lunches, great "sticky buns", pastries and fabulous brick-oven artisanal bread.... hot from the oven at 11 a.m.! Hard to resist. (Closed on Mondays.) Have a latte with a sour-plum turnover in the rose-covered gazebo out back! Valley's End is a great place for runners or painters, writers or wine people; family reunions, romantic getaways or just a simple reconnection with quiet and nature--- just the dose of rustic, quirky elegance you need. Valley's End proudly welcomes all races, all religions, all nationalities, all orientations and all genders.
  • We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Kevin's and Jerry's place which is surrounded by hospitality and a beautiful nature. Swimming in the Umpqua River is a sensation while watching the birds and listening to their noises... The self built house and porches are also wonderful but most exciting were the campfire and shooting stars at night! Thanks for a lovely stay which was too short;-) xruud and friends.

  • Due to a health emergency we had to cancel and reschedule our stay at Kevin's place. He was extremely gracious and helpful. We are so looking forward to staying here in the future.

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. We were greeted with a smile and the information in the house book was very helpful. I loved the double oven as I was cooking for my entire family for a special dinner. the house is wonderful and the rooms comfortable. We enjoyed our walk down to the river even though it was the middle of winter!

  • We loved this place. So homey and comfortable. Enjoyed the quietness, river, mountains, and yard. Great location for some quality family time. Kevin is friendly, helpful and welcoming. Thanks also to her son-in-law for letting my grandson use his fishing pole. Fish were caught!

  • This was a serendipitous find for us on a long road trip. It is one of those truly special Airbnbs - worth a trip all by itself. The setting is stunning, the house is charming and well stocked, and there is so much to do both on the property and nearby. In addition, there is so much care and history involved with the property ... we thought it was a real treat to stay at a property designed by the architect owner. And as with two little ones, we were wildly impressed by and appreciative of the playground, the toy stash, and the resident chickens (best eggs ever). Kevin was also a wonderful, generous, and fun to talk to host. This one is a real gem! You can't beat it!

  • We had an awesome time staying here. The house is well situated for local wine tasting. The riverside deck is a great summer night's setting with wine! The house itself has a very nice modern kitchen that we used to a full extent while we stayed, along with an internal and external dining area. Kevin was very accommodating- even before we arrived she had already told me about the harvest and provided directions. We were lucky enough to arrive while she had some fresh produce, which she offered to us, along with fresh bread.

Almost like floating on the water, this Blacks Arm Boat House with Docks sits right on Tenmile Lake and is surrounded by beautiful views. This property, part of a trio of rental homes, shares a storage area with life vests, chairs and boating equipment, though it does have its own separate entrance. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a sunny breakfast nook, and just about everything you'd need to make delicious meals. The living space has a soft leather sofa where you can cozy up at night. It even turns into a sofa bed for extra sleeping space. Head into the bedroom, right down the hall, to find a comfy queen sized bed and a flat screen TV with cable and a DVD player. In addition, you'll find a full bath with a walk-in shower and a washer and dryer. Altogether, this home sleeps 4 guests comfortably. This home makes for the ideal carefree vacation, as your worries will be swept away with the sound of nightly crickets and the gentle rippling of the water. And for more vacation fun, head back to the mainland where you can hike through the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area or visit the Pacific Coast, which is only about 6 miles away. • A lovely and unique place! The ONLY problem we had was locating the place initially, because the photos are front the front, and the entrance is in the back. Cindy was super responsive and helpful. The place was very well stocked with everything we could of needed - wish we could have stayed longer! Hope to return one day!!!

  • This place was great. Very clean, well laid out. Huge parking area (we had boats). And there is a truly awesome Koi Pond! Great hot tub and deck. Got absolutely nothing bad to say. Would go back in a heartbeat.

  • Cindy is a great host I can’t recommend this place enough. It was by far the best Airbnb I have stayed at. The bed was extremely comfortable and Cindy had toiletries stocked.

    Alexander2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy was very helpful and communicative - she fixed the hot tub and gifted us an extra night's stay as an apology, which was wonderful. Our only issue is that this place doesn't have a lot of privacy out back where the hot tub and infinity pool live. Other than that, everything was great!
