The village itself and immediate surrounding areas are delightful. Local attractions include Drombeg Stone Circle in Glandore, the villages of Glandore, Roscarberry and Castletownshend. Within easy reach of the towns of Ballydehob, Schull and Bantry and the Mizen Head, Sheep's Head and Beara Peninsulas. Some great local pubs and restaurants.
Quiet place but with everything within walking distance....shops, pubs, post office, beach and playground for children.
  • We just spent 6 lovely relaxing days at Aileen's cottage in the beautiful village of Union Hall. Our host made us feel very welcome and the cottage itself is quaint, warm and has everything you need for a relaxing get away. Union Hall has many lovely pubs that double as eateries. our favourite being The Boatsman's Inn where there was live entertainment over the New Year holidays and the locals were very welcoming. The scenery in this area of Cork is breathtaking and there are some great drives and walks to be had regardless of the weather. After a days sight seeing there was nothing nicer than sitting by a stove fire with a glass of local whiskey reading a good book and listening to the sea. We will definitely be back to make more happy memories!

  • I spent 4 nights in this delightful cottage recently and loved everything about it. It is warm, cosy and very romantic. Sancta Maria is located within walking distance of Union Hall and right beside the gorgeous harbour. It is an ideal base for exploring West Cork. Aileen was the perfect host, she provided us with all the necessities and was available to us whenever we needed but gave us all the privacy we wanted to spend our time away together. On leaving Aileen presented us with a beautiful book she compiled with her husband containing stories and art work by a variety of artists with connections to Union Hall. I would highly recommend this cottage and can't wait to return again.

  • Sancta Maria is a great little cottage in a quaint little Irish fishing village. Our host made us feel extremely welcome and it had the comfiest beds you could ever hope to find. The cottage was old but very charming. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience a quiet country stay.

    Sue2013-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really lovely and the location is just beautiful - right on the water. The views are fabulous. Aileen was really good to me - I had to leave earlier than expected and she was really understanding and helpful. I would recommend her place for sure.

  • Great place. We loved how quiet it was. The house was nice and cozy, the location ideal for our kayaking, swimming and walking. Our car broke down, but we didn't really need it because Union Hall has it all (and you can always kayak to Glandore for a bite and a pint!!) Ann was really helpful, friendly and gave us great tips on exploring the local area. Couldn't recommend the place more. We will definitely be back.

  • Aileen has a wonderful cozy cottage in a quiet peaceful part of Unionhall. It has everything in it that you might need and is just a short walk to supermarket, pubs and a superb fishmonger. Aileen made it very easy to find and get settled in - including milk in the fridge for a cup of tea after a long journey there!

    Abdul2014-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The setting is particularly beautiful, both in terms of the immediate environs of the house and the local area. The welcome and communication afforded by the host are exceptional. The value is good and the house is very clean and well-cared for. We really enjoyed our stay, and hopefully will have a chance to return for another.

  • We spent one night at Jim and Carol's place but we would definatley come back there again. They are friendly people, the house is beautiful and breakfast fantastic. Great place to stay if you want to go on a whale watching tour. We couldn't find the place on GPS, but we passed it on the way to Unionhall.

    Kitty2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay with Carol - her home/B&B is in a beautiful place with lovely garden and not far from the village where you can get a great meal out in one of the lovely pubs! The room was very clean & comfy, and we were served the most fabulous breakfast!

  • Great place to stay in the lovely location of Union Hall. Handy distance to visit a lot of lovely true West Cork locations. Jim and Carol are lovely people who make you feel right at home. The house is beautiful and a mighty breakfast in the is served in the morning catered for every diet, even the fussy ones like me. Had a great chat with Jim and Carol and they both know the area well. I would stay here again no bother if I'm visiting West Cork again. Sorry when I visit West Cork again

    Paul2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's place is warm and inviting, and breakfast is a true delight! The location is perfect for exploring the countryside; earlier in the day I took the ferry to Cape Clear Island.

Bay View House Bed & Breakfast is located on the sea front in the heart of Glandore village in West Cork. With fantastic views and a perfect location, Bay View is ideal for tourists, families and couples. All rooms have ensuite and tea/coffee facilities.
Bay View has unique views of Glandore harbour, is located in the heart of the village and is within walking distance to Glandore's sand and stoney beaches.
  • A fantastic location, overlooking Glandore Harbour. We arrived on a warm, sunny afternoon and Phil served us tea out on her lawn, right over the water. She is a great host and her breakfasts are terrific! Our room was small but had all we needed, and the bathroom was spacious. We didn't get to use the jacuzzi bathtub, but it was nice to know it was there. Our only problem was that the bed was uncomfortable and we didn't sleep well. Otherwise, a great stay. Glandore is a beautiful village and well worth a visit. Make sure you go for a swim - bracing and the perfect way to wake up!

    Maria2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodation with beautiful views of the sea. Check-in was smooth and easy. Breakfast in the morning was a delightful highlight of our stay. Would definitely recommend.

    Christopher2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Phil's place was wonderful! She took such great care of us. The bed was very comfortable and we felt so welcomed. Centrally located but in a very small town, so still very quiet. She helped us make a dinner reservation and served us a delicious breakfast the next morning. Phil was such a wonderful host and we had a very cute room!

    Sasha2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a charming place to stay with a great view in a magical little village on Glandore bay. Phil was a very nice and accommodating host and makes one of the best breakfasts I've had in any Airbnb stay!

    Adam2017-05-24T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful stay at Lis-ardagh Lodge. Carol and her family made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious, spotless and well appointed. The breakfast was superb. All in all a lovely place to stay which we recommend without hesitation. We look forward to a return visit.

  • Very nice host. Great location. Spacious room with in-suite bathroom.

    Leigh2015-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Carols house is beautiful, the rooms are very clean and the breakfast is absolutely delicious! She also gave us very good advices in terms of restaurants in the area. Would definitely recommend this bnb!

    Marie2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had two wonderful nights at Lis-ardagh. Our family room (for five) could rather be called a suite, with two large bedrooms, bathroom and a lobby, all clean and cozy decorated. Breakfast was a feast, with Carol and Jim being very corteous and pleasant hosts. Union Hall isn't exactly the capital of the world (a choice of one restaurant for dinner), but a quite and relaxing place and well situated for exploring the coast.

    Martin2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely hosts and very arranging despite me having messed up with my arrival date. Lovely garden, and great breakfast! Short stay but definitively on my list for more.

    Heidi2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sometimes trips are planned well in advance and sometimes, plans change. Ours was the later, but in all communcations, Carol was a complete professional, and our experience at the B&B was the same. Li-aradgh is a totally professional operation, but on a gracious scale. The rooms and bath were spotless and well appointed. The house is in perfect condition, and the food was delightful. Carol, Jim and Tara were gracious and accommodating. Carol had advice and directions at the ready, and Jim was simply lovely - the kind of man you could talk with forever. The gardens, town and surrounding area are the heart of ideal Ireland - quite charming but not yet full of tourists.

    Suzanne2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 1 amazing day in Carol's lovely house. The appartement was well equipped and nicely decorated. It provides enough space for four people and to store luggage. The beds are very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet during the night. The house is perfectly located for relaxing, a parking lot is directly in front of the house. I would definitely stay at Carol's again! Thanks for everything :-) the breakfast was really good!!!!

    Stephanie2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Carol and Jim are such great hosts. Their bnb is beautiful, spotless and really welcoming. Our room was perfect and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The place is right outside Union Hall and local to some of the best spots in West Cork so is a great base for anyone exploring the area.

  • Our hosts were very warm and welcoming. They even came to seek us after 10pm so we could find the way to the lodge. The lodge is a part of the hosts house, but it has its own entrance and a quiet part of the garden, so we were to ourselves. We got to see our hosts a few times during our stay and they always had some great suggestions on what to do and see in the area. The house is located on a quiet hill near Glandore, and by car we were able to get to the next largers villages, Clonakilty and Skibbereen, pretty quickly as well. We really enjoyed our stay and can wholeheartedly recommend staying at Gails'.

    Nils2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Gail's apartment in Glandore. We were made very welcome by Gail's mother with fresh eggs, milk and bread on our arrival. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped and had a lovely private sitting area outside. Glandore is a beautiful location. We would love to stay again soon.

    Emma2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely small flat located in a scenic, nice and quite place just outside Glandore Village (you need a car to stay there and get around) Ideal for couples who want to spend some quiet and relaxing time together. Lal was very helpful and made us feel very welcomed in her place. We had a great time and are looking forward to go back.

    Thayse2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Gail's Mum Lal met us outside the village and directed us to the house. Lal is lovely lady who is very helpful as is Timmy. Although we've been to West Cork before they gave us lots of tips on places to visit, watering holes and restaurants and all proved well worthwhile (check out Hayes in Glandore and Dinty's in Union Hall). The location suited us perfectly as we were looking to chill out and there were good walking tracks outside the door with some nice panoramic views. Also it was an ideal hub for us as we were able to take in place from Kinsale / Clonakilty across to Bantry / Skibereen / Baltimore / Crookhaven and Mizen head. Wifi is very good also and a nice private patio to enjoy listening to a huge variety of birds.

    Brian2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place.

    Marissa2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely, better than the photos! Pretty secluded - we made the mistake of trying to follow (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps with the GPS coordinates to get there and ended up somewhere completely wrong!! Gail's mother met us in Glandore and we followed her to the house - MUCH easier :)

    Ariel2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • While not really suitable for anyone who'd like to walk to the village, this is a lovely place. Lal welcomed us with cakes and fresh eggs and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.

  • Carol and Jim made us so welcome. The accommodation was warm, spotless and had everything you could need. We were blown away by picturesque Union Hall, only 1 minute down the road. Our two year old was thrilled by a front yard visit by the resident fox and delighted by the 'secret fairy garden'. A highlight of our holiday!

  • A cosy modern house with beautiful gardens and lovely hosts.

    fiona2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Union Hall is our second home and it has taken us some time to find a house where we can relax and feel truly at home. Carol & Jim's cottages are just that. There is the right mix of rustic charm with all modern conveniences. Lots of parking and a perfect house for elderly folk too. Open plan lends itself to long chats over the dinner table to the wee hours. Carol is always very welcoming and we will be back. A little bit of relaxing heaven in our favourite village.

    Shena2015-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our two week stay here. Carol and Jim are friendly and caring hosts and the cottage itself was just perfect for our stay. The gardens are beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean and we loved having a washing machine and a private garden out the back. Union Hall itself is the cutest little village. Casey's Bar just a 5 minute walk down the hill had great Irish meals & we found lots of local places for hikes. My son loved seeing Henry the fox each night. A real Irish country experience and I highly recommend staying here :-)

  • This is a fantastic, warm and welcoming house, a wonderful location and a very responsive host. The photos that Ann put up on AirB&B are absolutely what met us on arrival. It is a stunning location and we had a lovely, warm family few days over new year in Ann’s house, planning games and enjoying meals together. We took her 2 kayaks down to the sea on New Year’s Day and had a ball. Can recommend it highly enough. Thanks for the hospitality and nice touches Ann.

    Margaret2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a perfect stop for our travels through Ireland. The view in the pictures doesn't do justice to the actual veiws from the house. The beach is just down a path from the house. The water was to cold to get in but we enjoyed walking the beach together. The house itself is beautiful and plenty spacious. We were 3 adults and 2 children and had plenty of room. Ann has thought of everything for a stay. WIFI worked well there was a TV if needed. There was a huge selection of books to chose from. She even has toys and games for kids. We could not have imagined how truly wonderful this house and Ann are. If we ever make it back to Ireland this is where we will stay.

    Daniel2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location. Extremely tranquil. Gorgeous house with a quiet beach literally at the end of the garden. Kayaks and portable BBQ for when the sun's out, but equally easy to occupy yourself on a rainy day between the numerous books and board games, as well as a large tv. Ann was extremely helpful and welcoming. She had many suggestions for places to visit and things to do. Always very quick to reply and she kindly treated us to some lovely goodies on arrival.

    Rob2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I stayed at Ann's place for christmas. The house and location is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. House is lovely and cosy, clean and very comfortable. The location is incredible, just two seconds walk to the beach. We took out the kayaks and loved it ! Very close to Glendore village where we ate at the lovely Glandore Inn, really good food. Ann has also alot of games for children which is great for families with young kids! I recommend Ann's place as the perfect location to stay for outdoor adventures, as we stayed around christmas we stayed in most evenings wifi can be abit slow due to being so close to the coast & no reception. Unfortunately we were unable to meet Ann, but the communication was superb and always responded very fast to any queries. Thank you Ann for the stay and the lovely welcome with bread & wine.

    Anna2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, endearing, and a wonderful location. Unfortunately, we didnt have time to take the Kayaks out, the only regret. Good host and we were not left wanting.

  • It's a lovely cozy house with beautiful view to the sea and beautiful flowers and garden path to the beach! Ann was very nice leaving us some delicious brown bread and toys for my 3 year old son. We had a wonderful sunny weekend!

  • A beautiful cozy getaway with amazing views and thoughtful touches everywhere. Our children were delighted with the many toys and games. Spent an afternoon on the kayaks out in the bay and many walks on the beach at low tide. A fantastic family getaway. Thank you Ann for making our visit to your retreat so special.

We are situated in the heart of West Cork Ireland, a very picturesque part of Ireland where you can enjoy Irish culture and beautiful landscape. West Cork is renowned for its artisan food so there are many places to go and eat for the food lover.
  • This is a really lovely property, very clean and in great condition. Big enough for two couples. You do need a car as it's away from the main road but this is what we wanted. Jacinta was a good host, showing us all we needed on arrival, providing lots of local information and then giving us privacy, yet being next door if needed. Very happy with our stay.

    Kelly2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful country side views, friendly people, delicious sea food. Lots to explore. beaches, cliffs and villages. Great holiday destination for families, adventures, walks and to relax and enjoy all what Ireland has to offer.

  • The place is wonderful as well as the hosts! The cottage is very warm and cozy, it has all you need, even more. Location is very good. The donkeys and the dog are the loveliest creatures on Earth! Communication with Jacinta was very quick and efficient. All in all I can't find enough words to express how good our stay was! Would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

    Iryna2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough good things about our stay in Jacinta's cottage. Jacinta and Sean (and Zara, Donkey and Kong!!) were so welcoming, and Jacinta gave us excellent tips on things to see and do in the area. The cottage was perfect: warm and immaculately kept, with a kitchen so well equipped that I even managed to bake a birthday cake for my boyfriend. As mentioned in the other reviews, the shower is just fab! We also really appreciated the wood burning fire - Jacinta had it set and ready to go so we could enjoy a cozy night in. We were interested in outdoor activities in the area and Jacinta suggested sea kayaking with local company, Atlantic Sea Kayaking. We chose the 'Moonlight/Starlight Experience' on Lough Hyne, which was the most magical experience - we couldn't recommend it highly enough. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location with fabulous hosts. A perfect weekend away!

  • We loved everything about Jacinta's house. It is ideally situated, close to Skibbereen, yet nicely off main roads. There is a lovely network of lane ways which you can walk and enjoy the wonderful landscape, without encountering any traffic. The house is very well furnished and very well equipped and is an ideal place to stay any time of the year. The wood burning stove works well, and we particularly liked the super king size bed. We had a most pleasant stay and hope to return again to further enjoy the attractions of West Cork.

  • Stayed in Mahons cottage last week with our 4 children. We had a great time, the cottage is modern and has everything you need in it. It is in a beautiful location and central for touring around west Cork. The children enjoyed feeding the donkey in the field beside the house. Our host Jacinta was very friendly and helpful.I would highly recommend Mahons Cottage.

Jacinta was a fabulous host and I can’t rave enough about the wonderful time we had there. We are already planning on how we can come back again.. but for longer. Loved every magical moment. • We had a wonderful stay in Kieran's place. He was the perfect host and we knew we would be well looked after if we needed anything. The apartment is wonderful with an absolutely amazing view. We had a great time for the two nights we stayed and can't wait to stay again in the future if Kieran will have us.

    David2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kieran was an excellent host and met us near the property. He showed us all the features of the property including the fantastic rooftop terrace with the best view in Glandore. As we were happy to operate independently Kieran left us to our own devices. I did meet him later on in the village and he checked that we were OK for a booking in the local restaurant as it was particularly busy, this was a nice personal touch. On the morning we were leaving he called to check if we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this host and property.

  • We had such a great time in Glandore The apartment has a stunning view over the bay and was the perfect location for ruling west cork Kieran is a gentleman and took very good care of us.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Kieran's place. He was very welcoming and made sure that everything was okay - which it was! We were actually 'upgraded' in to a larger appartment as it was available and we had fantastic views out of the long front room overlooking the bay. Despite the wind and rain outside the house was snug and warm. We had everything we needed in the house and the location is great, really easy to get to nearby towns. We also took his recommendation for dinner at his son in laws restaurant in near by Skibbereen - The Concha was really really nice and did some wonderful seafood. I would definitely recommend Kieran's place or indeed use it again if I return to Ireland

  • A lovely house, with great views. The town itself is well worth a visit. More to do than you would think in such a small village. Kieran was very helpful and I would recommend staying here.

  • Kieran was very accommodating host. When we arrived in the small village he came to meet us and show us around the house. There were a few small problems that he went out of his way to fix. A wonderful location / village. The photos don't do it justice! Lovely and bright and a fire for the colder evenings. Thanks Kieran, we'll certainly love to come back

  • Cracking view, great apartment, Glandore is so beautiful. kieran was very helpful and welcoming, highly recommended

    Gearoid2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kieran was very accommodating of our schedule and adjusted to our changed arrival time nicely. He was most helpful in getting us unloaded and moved in. He was patient and gave us sufficient time to settle a bit before taking us through all the instructions for heat, washer, stove, oven, etc. Kieran provided many foods to get us started...fruits, bread, milk, yogurt, and much more. He even made an extra trip to bring us laundry detergent and softner. The accommodation was roomy and the beds comfortable. Being in the small village of Glandore and right on the water somewhat created the feel of going to the cottage in the woods. Being from the USA with little experience on the Irish regional roads, it was a little unnerving traveling the few miles on R597...narrow and curvy. After a couple trips, we got the hang of it.

    Kristina2014-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location. Great host. Great restaurant , literally downstairs...Glandore Inn, the chef..Seamus Minnihane very good..About 2 mile walk to Union Hall, beautiful fishing village. Kieran was easy and helpful and is a regular around Glandore...everyone knows him. I will absolutely go back, highly recommended !

  • Keiran is a very kind man and was very helpful in accommodating us all although arriving in different parties and times. His place is situated in the centre of Glandore overlooking the sea view as shown in photos. Remarkable!

    Inderjit2013-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Keiran was a very gracious host, and his place is 5 star . Location overlooking the bay is unique and fantastic. The large, comfortable, clean living space with all the amenities is above average. We hope all our experiences with hosts are like this .

    Brett2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kieran was such a nice host, helped us carry our bags in from the car and explained everything. He made sure everything was ok and was on hand if we had any problems. The place itself was fabulous, great location, the view from the window was amazing! We travelled with our one year old and it was perfect for her, loads of space. Everthing was clean and spacious. Kieran had supplied us with milk, butter, yoghurt etc..to keep us going. Would not hesitate in staying here again. Thank you.

This old coastguard house has been completely refitted in the last few years and offers a unique opportunity to get away from it all and reconnect with nature in the idyllic setting of beautiful Glandore. Unobstructed Ocean views on your front door and access to the sea from the garden.
This is a very rare property. It's one of three old coastguard buildings dating back to the 19th century. It has been completely restored in the last few years and now offers a wonderful mix of old and contemporary. The garden is amazing and is on a number of different levels. At the bottom are old steps leading to the rocks below where, at high tide, you can jump straight into the ocean, an amazing wake-up!
Glandore must be one of the most beautiful villages anywheres in the world. It sits quite high looking onto a 3km inlet off the Atlantic Ocean. As a result you really get a panoramic viewpoint of the water and all activities on it. Glandore harbour is guarded by two islands called Adam and Eve, the old sailors mantra goes 'avoid Adam and hug Eve'. There are two castles (privately owned) one 3000 year old stone circle, 3 great pubs, 2 lovely restaurants, wonderful scenic walks and some truly wonderful people. What more could you want really.
  • Spent a lovely weekend in Gladore, great house with wonderful views, set in incredible gardens. House was presented very well with everything you would need including an excellent sound system, record collection and open fire. Dave was helpful, gave some good tips and everyone had a great stay. The near by pub owners were very friendly and went out of there way to make us feel at home.

    John2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Although Dave wasn't able to be available locally, he took every opportunity by email and phone to make suggestions about local resources [ music, groceries etc.] and promptly answer the few questions we had, as the 6 of us settled completely comfortably into his lovely perch above the bay and islands at Glandore. The house and gardens and beach below invite complete relaxation and the surrounding areas make excellent day trip adventures; to Baltimore and Sherkin Island etc. etc. very easy to have.

    Constance2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, excellent! Great house in a beautiful location. Glandore is truly a beautiful village. I stayed in Dave's home for 6 days and had family come join me for 4/6 days. It's truly a 360 degree great experience there. From the tasteful decor to great equipped kitchen and dining room, it truly felt like home away from home experience!! Beds and duvets are super comfortable and cosy warm. Mature terraced garden is beautiful to sit in regardless of weather. Views stellar, and beach at botto, and Casey's friendly ( yet quiet) pub at top of driveway is icing on cake! Dave was a joy to deal with- super efficient in replies from initial inquiry through to departure! 5 stars- and a GEM! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a beautiful taste of west cork! I plan to return with other friends!:) Thanks Dave! Marie

  • Dave's home is very special, we spent a great week in such beautiful house...Very cosy house restored with touch, stunning location, stellar views, amazing gardens, beach at your doorstep - with all facilities you can dream of (kayaks, sound system & record collection available). Not to mention Casey's, great pub just across the road ! Dave was a brilliant host, very easy to deal with, always prompt to respond and very welcoming. We felt at home from the start. We will definitely be back ! Thanks Dave. Olivier
