Holiday Rentals in Herefordshire

Just booked in Herefordshire

Our newly decorated, self-contained annex has two bedrooms and sleeps four. Set in rolling hills in the beautiful Wye Valley with stunning views. A large meadow, play area, heated indoor pool ( April-Sept) & outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub, and great pub just five minutes walk away make it a fabulous rural retreat!
May Hill View S/C Annex is just a five-minute drive from the picturesque market town of Ross on Wye and five minutes from M50 junction 3. There is a vast array of things to do on your doorstep. Historical Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester with their famous cathedrals. The castles of Goodrich, Raglan, Chepstow and Eastnor. Tintern Abbey and various National Trust and English Heritage sites all near. The ancient Forest of Dean is a magnet for horse riding, walkers and cyclists and for golfers there are two fabulous courses literally a two-minute drive away. Opportunities for lake and river fishing are just nearby. Canoeing and cruising on the nearby River Wye are also very popular. Symonds Yat Rock, May Hill, the Malvern Hills, the Black Hills and Brecon Beacons are just a short drive away. The Annex is approx 20 metres away from the main house. It is private and has its own entrance. Cosy and warm (electric blankets too!) with all the usual amenities. All utilities are included in the price, also essentials such as cooking oil, washing up liquid, etc. A Welcome Pack of beverages, breakfast goodies and cake on arrival. Storage and cleaning for bikes and any outdoor kit. Washing machine and drying facilities are available. Cot/cot side and high chair on request. There is tarmac private off-road parking. We offer the use of a fabulous heated (27 - 28 degrees ) indoor pool from the beginning of the Easter hols to the end of September with Bluetooth music system and great countryside views. Also a lovely Jacuzzi hot tub to relax in and do a little star gazing! These are both by arrangement at times that are mutually convenient.
There is a lovely pub, the Moody Cow, which recently appeared in the Guardian newspaper as one of the top 50 places to have Sunday lunch is a five-minute walk up the road. It is advisable to book ahead as gets very busy at the weekend especially. There are several local footpaths. With the Round Ross Trail a minute from the front of the property.
  • I can't imagine a better place to get away from it all and completely relax. I swam, read, slept and ate the best Sunday roast ever at the Moody Cow just a short walk away. We were made to feel so welcome in this lovely, clean, comfortable house and I would recommend it to anyone.

  • The Annex was beautifully cosy, without being too small. Three of us girls managed comfortably and we loved the way it was styled with everything we needed for our weekend stay. The Annex was adorned with several snug blankets as well as dressing gowns which came in handy for short dash to the indoor pool and outdoor hot tub. There was also a bookcase full of books, DVDs and games as well as so many suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the local area (The Moody Cow pub right around the corner was a highlight - definitely book a table in advance!). Sonya and her family were around to help if needed, easy and so so welcoming. We loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend.

  • We came for a little weekend getaway myself my husband, sister in law and my little 16 month old daughter. It was everything we wanted and more. Coming from busy London it was the perfect getaway. Sonya was a superb host who went out of her way to make us feel at home- she even brought us some delicious fresh scones on arrival and packed our fridge with essentials. The annex is beautifully charming, very homely and family friendly. Plenty of toys for my little girl and and endless supply of DVDs and books. The rooms all have electric blankets which is really handy this time of year as it gets really cold. The hot tub was very nice and easy to use. Overall we had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back again perhaps in the summer! Thanks again :-)

  • Sonya and family are excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. The house was lovely and filled with special, small touches. The pool and hot tub were amazing and the swing and trampoline looked like loads of fun for kids. The welcome starter goodies were perfect as was the warm bread in the mornings. It's a beautiful location, v easy to find and well connected to motorways, but still feels remote and peaceful. We loved it!

    Shama2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you beautiful place and stay. Would come back any day x

    Sophie2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most fantastic experience here with the best hosts! Plenty to do in the villages and the countryside, but also enough to keep you occupied on site with the pool and hot-tub and the fields stretching for miles! Will definitely look to return soon :)

    Andy2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time here, everything you can imagine was catered for. The hot tub and pool were fantastic. Lovely quiet area, was very relaxing. Did not leave the property all weekend had no reason too it had everything and more. Sonya and family were fantastic hosts, very nice friendly people and basically left us to it. After check out we visited the Wye Valley visitor centre with butterfly zoo Maze etc which was a really nice afternoon out and was not at all expensive. Overall had a great weekend just wished i could have stayed for longer.

    Jackie2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The converted barn is in a beautiful setting. We were greeted on arrival and shown where everything was. There was fresh bread and in the fridge was milk and butter etc. The pool and hot tub were fantastic [I came with my daughter]. Everything had been thought through and we had a wonderful time. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

  • I had an awesome time at Acorn Cabin. The accommodation is fabulous, spacious, clean and comfortable. The views of the surrounding countryside are spectacular, and it’s in easy walking distance from two decent pubs. Lesley is a lovely host and she is kind hearted and interested in her guests and their welfare and comfort. I can’t wait till I get a chance to stay again.

    Richard2017-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulously quirky, clean, and comfortable place to stay. Everything you might need and more space than I expected (kitchen, dining area, lounge, bedroom, shower and toilet). Lesley was a welcoming and engaging host. Perfect spot for my overnight stay whilst doing a couple of days walking on the Herefordshire trail with my dog.

    Norman2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful place to relax and get away from the city to surround by trees and fresh air with a clean and comfortable interior design. Most importantly Lesley is a very warm and kind lady who take care of me during my stay.

  • Great place. Comfortable and clean. Very peaceful setting. Good pub near by. Lesley was the perfect host. 10/10

  • I was on my own fishing the Wye, for which the cabin was ideal. It is well kitted out and spotlessly clean. It is in a rural location and off the road so there was virtually no traffic noise at all.

    Alex2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in the Acorn cabin. Its a comfortable cabin with all you need and more. Lesley even supplied us with Bread, eggs and bacon. The bed is super comfy and the kitchen has all you need. Would love to come back.

Bright and spacious studio apartment in Linton near Ross on Wye. Well equipped funky kitchenette, large bathroom, comfortable double bed and additional sofa bed and cot bed for children if required. Free Wifi, pets welcome by arrangement, stunning far reaching views towards the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds, village location with pubs in walking distance, great walks, private courtyard garden... Just a few steps up from a quiet country lane but not suitable for guests with mobility problems.
The Studio 'Miss Muffet' at Tuffets is self contained and private, but attached to our cottage with private access via french doors from the large garden. It is located in a new cedar clad extension, built into the hill to maximize the views. The apartment has vaulted ceilings and a cozy but modern feel. It is well equipped with towels and bedding included.
Our village Linton is a true village with a good community, great pub and fantastic walks. Located on a ridge between the Malvern Hills and Black Mountains in Wales it is ideally located for those who enjoy beautiful views and the great outdoors.
  • Katrin was great at letting us know directions and allowing us flexibility with our arrival time. Miss Muffet's is a delightful place to stay; clean, quiet and in a great location. The local pub was good for dinner and it is close to the Forest of Dean so we enjoyed a wonderful trip to the Sculpture Trail. Breakfast in the sun outside was a highlight.

We felt so relaxed sitting in the peaceful garden with amazing views. The location wea perfect 5 mins from the motorway took you a haven. The village was quaint with a pub in walking distance. Characterful 4 double or twin bedroom en suite 18th c. coach house on the private Homme House Estate. Farmhouse style kitchen, drawing room with inglenook fireplace and secluded courtyard garden. Beautiful rural setting. Good country pubs nearby.
A recently renovated Grade II listed 18th c. Coach House for 8 people with many original features, including exposed beams and Coachman's inglenook fireplace. The house has its own kitchen, utility room, drawing room and 4 large double/twin en suite bedrooms, as well its own front and secluded courtyard gardens.
The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with excellent local produce markets, market towns and country pubs. Some recommendations: - a visit to Westons cider in Much Marcle village - walking on the Malvern Hills, in Forest of Dean, Wye Valley, the Kington area - exploring the local market towns: Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye, Leominster - canoeing on the Wye between Glasbury and Hay-on-Wye - mountain biking in the Forest of Dean - a visit to Hereford Cathedral to see the Mappa Mundi - the black & white trail of North West Herefordshire - visits to Berrington Hall (NT), Brockhampton (NT) & Croome Court (NT)
  • Charlie was very welcoming and the house is delightful and extremely comfortable. The bedrooms are very spacious, clean and nicely furnished. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House and would recommend it. It is beautifully warm.

    Sally2015-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We booked the Coach House as a group for a weekend and it really lived up to our expectations and more. From the start communication with Charlie was good and we felt very welcome when we arrived. The photos don't do the house justice and the personal touches, including fresh flowers were lovely. This is a pretty area and a fantastic place to stay. In our 12 years of annual weekends away this was by far the nicest.

    Liz 2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. The accommodation is lovely and really versatile, this would work for families or groups of friends. All the rooms are equally good and no-one will feel shortchanged which ever room they get. The two reception rooms downstairs are great too so that big groups can spread out. We didn't have an opportunity to use the outside space much but there is a really sweet courtyard which I imagine would be a real suntrap on a nice day and would be lovely to sit out in of an evening. Charlie and Sarah were lovely hosts and we'd love to stay here again

    Louisa2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in the dark with our 3 month old baby and Charlie and Jocelyn gave us such a warm welcome. The Coach House is beautiful - so much warmer, homely and more comfortable than you would even imagine from the pictures. The 4 bedrooms are huge. And the 2 living spaces downstairs give ample space for fun times together. Our hosts had toasted the house up for our arrival so we felt immediately cosy and brought some fresh eggs from their chickens (which were delicious) and left a bottle of champagne to celebrate as we were staying for NYC. Charlie & Jocelyn are the kindest of hosts - nothing was too much trouble for them and they genuinely are committed to their guests have the most enjoyable time at their property. They were so helpful with anything that we needed and when we had an emergency with our 3 month old son they came straight to the house to help us. We felt that we were treated like family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of the world. Walking around the amazing grounds was so invigorating and refreshing. It is a brilliant place for escaping to beauty and tranquility and the house will feel like 'home' for anyone. We would absolutely visit again!

    Jodie2016-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The coach house was better than described and the picture doesn't really do it justice. It was the most wonderful place to stay and the host could not have made us more welcome, they even left fresh eggs, potatoes and apples from the garden . We are planning to visit again next year, I can't say enough good things about it. I would recommend the coach house with absolutely no hesitation.

    June2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Charlie's was a wonderful experience. The house is gorgeous and spacious. We were two families, with four small kids and there was plenty of room both inside and outside to play and have fun. The house is clean, cozy and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal for eight. Charlie's parents were around for advice and when we had an issue with the radiators, they promptly had them fixed. We really felt home for three days and I am looking forward to come back. Thanks!

    Alessandro2016-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our getaway at the Coach House was completely perfect, everything I hoped it would be! The pictures absolutely do not do the place justice, it is a gorgeous, gorgeous place to stay. All of the bedrooms were wonderful, the kitchen had real character, the surroundings were incredible, and such a short walk from good pub food if necessary! Contact with the host was prompt and thorough from day one, and there were so many finishing touches to the place that made it even more perfect: the folders full of local information, the bottles of water in each bedroom, the freshly laid eggs, the house (URL HIDDEN) family and I have not stopped raving about the Coach House and would love to stay again in the future :)

    Victoria2015-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Rarely have I stayed in such a lovely place. My friends and I were blown away by The Coach House and its surroundings, and we couldn’t have had more welcoming hosts. The house has been carefully restored in keeping with its original features. Bedrooms manage to be both spacious and cozy, all with large bathrooms. We particularly enjoyed making hearty dinners in the well-equipped kitchen after long days of walking in the surrounding area. We appreciated the carefully compiled local information supplied by Charlie. I whole-heartedly recommend the Coach House to anyone planning a weekend away.

My place is close to family-friendly activities, we are located just a short drive from the River Wye, Forest of Dean, the Malvern Hills easy access to Gloucester, Hereford or Monmouth. A beautiful country village, local pub with restaurant The Alma , is a 5 -10 minutes walk along the lane up into village. Historic church with ancient yew tree next to our village hall which hosts regular events. Walks from the apartment across lovely orchards and quite lanes and footpaths or further afield to the Forest of Dean, Symonds Yat, River Wye at Ross or May Hill. There is so much to see and do in the area - happy to provide information and suggestions
  • Janet's place provided exactly what we needed for a 1 night stay. She was very easy to communicate with and the apartment was very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend!

  • Our second stay and just as enjoyable as our summer visit thanks to the very efficient and easy to use central heating. We were very cosy and comfortable.

    Catherine2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little place. A perfect, compact apartment with everything you need and unbelievable views across to the Malverns. Janet & Paul are fantastic hosts and extra touches such as lovely teas, juice, biscuits & croissants make it extra special. Can’t wait to return!

  • Knew it would be nice when we arrived to a warm and cosy place with mini christmas trees and fairy light in the window; we weren't disappointed. Over and above our expectations, lots of special finishing touches, very comfortable with a stunning view and friendly hosts. Would defintely stay there again.

    Keri2017-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • From the photos you can tell the apartment is lovely, but in reality of it was so much better than expected. It was so cosy and beautiful with lots of lovely little touches to make us feel at home. Before we got there Janet turned on the lights and heating which was very much appreciated as we were weary travellers. They left us in peace but were always on hand if we needed anything. The apartment was so high spec and we didn't feel like we were even on the property as it was so private. All the places that we wanted to visit were less than half hour away, the butterfly zoo, the Forest of Dean, Puzzlewood, the Caves, the crime museum, so the location was great. The area itself is stunning as is the view from the apartment. We also ate at a wonderful italian resturant In Ledbury called the Olive Tree. The food and service there were second to none. There's nothing that I can think of that would have made our holiday better. Thanks so much to Janet and Paul for their hospitality! I can't recommend them or the apartment highly enough.

    Bina2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you love the peace and quiet of the countryside you will love Janet's place. Everything you need and wonderful views. Lots of lovely walks to enjoy and the local pub The Alma serves great food. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

The self-contained Parkside Studio is on the ground floor with its own access to the garden. The house, on the edge of the cider village of Much Marcle in Herefordshire, is down a quiet lane, surrounded by a large garden, fields, Hereford cattle, and wild daffodils. Hellens Manor and Homme House are nearby. We are close to Ledbury, Great Malvern and Gloucester Stations. Bristol and Birmingham airports are easily accessible. The Black Mountains and the Malvern Hills are a short trip away.
Annie and Stephen Bull offer a fantastic, warm country setting and welcome. The studio is completely private, yet has access to the main house for a copious breakfast cooked by Stephen, Michelin star chef. The eggs are from our own chickens, and the bread is home made. Jams and jellies are made from our mulberries, quince and raspberries. Apples and plums are picked straight from the garden. A delicious slice of homemade cake greets you on arrival. We happily and knowledgeably host gluten-free guests (our daughter is a coeliac). In the studio the kingsize bed has a super comfortable mattress. Direct access to the garden allows you to come and go as you wish. We have a huge supply of maps and books on the local area. Walks are straight from the door. Parkside is very peaceful.

  • Thanks Anne and Stephen, along with Walnut the lab, for a fabulous weekend. The bed was very comfy, the cheesecake was delicious and breakfast was probably the best we've had. Given the season we were also lucky to take home a load of fruit from the garden. Our dog was given a warm welcome too which is always a bonus. Locally we had a great time with lots of walks and nice country pubs. Symonds Yat is close and made for a nice day out, and we went for a walk near the Lough Pool Inn, finishing with a gorgeous but reasonable lunch and cider. We only wish we could have stayed at Parkside studio another day! Thanks again.

  • I don’t normally go for writing reviews but I’m happy to write this. My first time using AirBnB and if this is the standard I'm glad I did. I had to find a place to stay for work I was doing in the area at the last minute, thought I'd try it, again, really pleased with my decision. The place was just right, the location completely silent in the evening with no street lamps! Was greeted when I arrived and explained how everything worked. A piece of homemade cake on my arrival too with a, "what time would you like breakfast?" It really was whatever time I wanted, Brilliant! Lovely bathroom facilities with a powerful shower and all the toiletries on hand. Breakfast was the best I've had that I can remember, a sad thing when you think about it but this really was good and worthy of note. There was everything to hand and I had a freshly laid egg with the best bacon and sausage I’ve tasted in a long time. You might not think this is enough but the fact is, you're offered more but there's everything else laid on too. All fresh fruits and homemade jams etc. The bread and even down to the butter, all the best tastes you can imagine. After sampling a number of what was on offer, there really isn’t much room for anything else. The perfect tastes with the perfect amount. The hosts were fantastic and it’s clear they really do enjoy what they do, nothing appears to be too much trouble. Would I stay again? You bet I would! Highly recommended and perfect for that, get out of the way, mini break too.

Romantic double bedroom accommodation in the Homme House Estate's private 16th c. tower. Large rustic kitchen, cosy drawing room with wood burning stove and large bathroom. Beautiful rural setting and views. Good country pubs nearby.
The accommodation is in the 16th century tower wing of a private country house with its own kitchen, drawing room and bathroom, comfortably accommodating 2 people.
  • Beautiful house, fantastic hosts and a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend it for a family stay.

  • Charlie and Sarah were fantastic hosts. We arrived fairly late at night and they met us and showed us round the tower. The tower was much bigger and more impressive than even the photos suggested and the whole place felt extremely homely. The wood-burning stove and huge farmhouse kitchen were both firm favourites. Charlie and Sarah cooked us breakfast on the first day and filled us in on good things to do in the local area. Sarah's homemade hedgehog biscuits went down a treat when we went canoeing! They had also compiled a comprehensive guide of recommended places to eat and visit nearby including some books of local walks. We had a perfect few days away in stunning surroundings and a cosy, homely, charming tower. We will definitely be returning!

  • Charlie was incredibly welcoming, the location was fantastic and very peaceful. We had a great time!

  • We had a great visit and LOVED our accommodations! It was the perfect place to stay during our visit to England. Staying in such a beautiful, historical property is something we will never forget. Charlie and Sarah were wonderful hosts and made sure that our stay was enjoyable. They even left a breakfast spread, which was so wonderful! In fact, the best breakfast we had in England was at Charlie and Sarah's! Thank you both so much for allowing us to stay at the Tower and for being such great hosts! Tracey & Monte

  • We could not have been made to feel more welcome, from the tour of the property, through to the wonderful breakfast provisions and the homemade Valentines biscuits. Sarah and Charlie left us alone when we wanted to be alone, but were attentive and contactable all weekend. We loved the tower, the location, the nearby facilities including the pub and cider mill not to mention the fantastic walking. The views from the Marcle ridge are stunning. We hope to be back soon. Thank you Sarah and Charlie for welcoming us into your space.

  • A fabulous stay - couldn't fault it at all! If you're looking for a romantic getaway for 2, then this place is the place to come. It's not only gorgeous to look at but the interior has been done up in keeping with the era of the tower. You feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of life whilst cosying up in front of the log fire. Charlie and Sarah are absolutely delightful and so helpful from the moment I booked to the moment we left. Delicious breakfast provided and scrummy homemade biscuits on arrival too (in keeping with dietary requirements too which was above and beyond all expectations!) they're opening some other properties soon and we can't wait to go back and try them. Thank you both for a fabulous surprise trip!

  • This was our first airbnb experience and Charlie and Sarah couldn't have been more welcoming and hospitable. Their property was truly memorable and it was such a treat to stay in such magical surroundings. Everything was so comfortable and well thought out and the whole experience was a delight all round.

    Hatt2014-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This kind of place often looks too good to be true, but it was everything I wanted it to be! Amazing place you feel completely at home in, and fascinating to run around inspecting all the trinkets. Charlie was a great host, great communication before and during our trip and full of good advice about things to do around the area - though in the end we really just wanted to stay in and cook in the amazingly well-equipped kitchen, and then hang out by the fire. Totally recommend!

Traditional wooden shepherd hut in beautiful rural location with wood burner, cosy blankets and double bed. Fire pit/barbeque for guests. Breakfast basket provided.
Beautiful hand built shepherd hut with traditional iron rolling carriage. Cosy interior with wood burner and cosy blankets. Double bed with feather duvet and pillows. The hut is fully insulated to keep you cosy with the wood burner lit. Electricity in the hut with tea and coffee making facilities. There is a fire pit for the use of guests but you may wish to bring charcoal if you want to barbecue. Oh and don't forget the marshmallows for toasting. Skewers provided!!
Our hut has been featured in The Sunday Times and on tv. We are surrounded by beautiful woodland famous for the Dymock wild daffodils but the property is located very close to M50 . The Three Choirs Vineyard with it's award winning wines and restaurant is just one mile away down a quiet country lane. Hellens Manor in Much Marcle is just 10 minutes drive away. Market town Ledbury has lovely independent shops a black and white market house and beautiful cobbled streets. Ross on Wye with great restaurants and the Malvern Hills are all within 15 miles. Eastnor Castle is close by and a short distance away is Hampton Court with it's beautiful gardens, river walks and Orangery restaurant. Tawney's has a Perry pear orchard with a very rare variety of pear and is of specific interest. Within easy distance of Gloucester Historic Docks, Forest of Dean and the River Wye. There are also great cycle routes signposted and stretches of newly opened canals restored by Gloucester Canal Trust in close by villages. St Mary's Church at Kempley; owned by English Heritage has sensational Norman wall paintngs and the oldest timber roof structure in the UK, all in a beautiful unspoilt spot.
  • Spent the night here after a tour at the 3 choirs vineyard and lunch! Lovely walk. Sick along country lanes. Shepherds hut is really homely with lovely little touches, fresh milk for a brew, cushions and blankets for the colder nights and a log burner to create a wonderfully warm atmosphere! Beautiful views across the fields (only slightly marred by the M50) with the sound of sheep chatting and birds talking into the small hours! The breakfast hamper was a very welcome bonus too! Thanks Jules, we had a blast!

  • Jules place is a beautiful getaway, in a perfect location. Jules was very welcoming and was lovely to chat too, making you feel right at home. The shepherds hut is just stunning. It's a cosy little hut with all the amenities you need. It was a great place to wake up to, with the sounds of birds outside and opening the curtains to see the sheep grazing in fields. Each morning, Jules provides a scrummy breakfast basket, with treats such as croissants, fruits and yogurts. Even though we had a bit of a rain in the evening, we still enjoyed lighting the fire pit and wrapping ourself in the blankets to enjoy a BBQ and the countryside in the evening. Highly recommend staying here, you will no doubt have a lovely, relaxing getaway. Thank you :)

    Merryn2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • So so cute! Well worth a stay just to see the stars at 4am through the stable door. The basket breakfast topped it all off. My friend and I did not get to meet Jules but were hosted by her lovely Mum, Grace, who answered any questions we had and sorted us out

    Victoria2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay here. Was lovely and secluded in the countryside. Jules was a great host. Would definitely recommend!

  • Really enjoyed our stay. The shepherds hut is lovely - small but incredibly cosy and cute. Both the hut and the bathroom are spotless. We really enjoyed sitting outside having a BBQ and lighting a fire, enjoying a glass of wine and watching the stars! The breakfast was delicious, and delivered to the door. Jules is friendly and gave us lots of recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to eat in. It's a great location - we visited the Forest of Dean and the Malvern Hills, and ate at the winery that was just down the road. It is very convenient to get to, but is close to the motorway, which you can hear, but it didn't ruin our experience. Would really recommend!

    Jennifer2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jules' hut provided a wonderful stay for my girlfriend and I over the long weekend. The hut itself is very cosy and well kitted out and Jules was very welcoming and helpful, giving us some tips about things to do and see in the local area. We visited the vineyard at Three Choirs just down the road one evening and another day did the beautiful 9-mile walk along the Daffodil Way which you can pick up just down the road from the farm. We were treated every morning to a lovely breakfast by Jules which we sat and ate in the seating area just out the front of the hut. One evening we grilled some sausages on the fire pit - all the kit you'd need for cooking and eating is provided. We also very much enjoyed the company of Jules' lovely dog Lola. All in all, a highly recommended stay.

    Michael2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay in Jules' beautiful shepherd's hut. We had everything we could possibly need and Jules could not have been more responsive or accommodating. Only wish we could have stayed a bit longer! Highly recommended.

In 2012 Lower Rock Barn was beautifully converted into a modern functional space with luxury bathrooms, while retaining the character of the original dairy with vaulted ceilings and stone walls. Being located in the Wye Valley, this is an ideal place for those wishing to walk, cycle, canoe or just explore the hidden gems of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The open plan layout creates a light and airy space. Under floor heating throughout and a lovely wood burner offers a cosy atmosphere. The barn has ample space for parking and a large garden with patio area. From the front door and garden there is a stunning view of the Wye Valley and surrounding countryside. We can provide a travel cot on request. Please ask us about any other requirements you may have.
The barn is set in an estate with other barn conversions on a non working farm - you may spot a few sheep who are around to keep the grass down. The city of Hereford and the market towns of Ross on Wye, Ledbury and Newent are within easy driving distance and the near-by villages of Fownhope and Much Marcle have excellent country pubs. Although set in unspoilt countryside, the barn is approximately a 10 minute drive from the M50.
  • Me and my family stayed here for just under a week. Communication with Claire before we arrived was great, we were travelling with our 6 week old baby and Claire couldn't have been more helpful. As well as providing a travel cot she also supplied a few other baby essentials which were greatly appreciated as our car was already full to bursting and meant we didn't have to pack the kitchen sink! Claire also provided some bread and eggs for us which was also much appreciated. The barn is amazing, its been done up to a very high standard with modern kitchen and bathrooms, was a bit gutted we didn't get to make use of the wood burning stove but there was no need as the weather was lovely and warm. There are great views from the barn and its a very quiet rural location. The living room was very nice and comfy as well, which was great as although we were down visiting family, with a newborn baby we spent a lot of time in the barn and it was a great space for us. We have used Airbnb on quite a few occasions and this is definitely the nicest place we have stayed in. I would highly recommend this accommodation

  • Absolutely amazing 2 night stay for us, myself and the boys loved everything about the barn, location and hosts.. please don't hesitate to book. So peaceful, and a great pub with good food close by.

  • Incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you'd need for a lovely country break. The views are phenomenal too, will definitely be returning in winter to make the most of the heated floors and the wood-burner!

    Seanie2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend this beautiful barn conversion for anyone looking for property which is immaculate inside and out. The decor and facilities within barn are fantastic and couldn't fault at all. Set in a very quiet area but easy to get to local amenities within 20mins by car. The host, Claire, was prompt and helpful in replying to pre-booking communication. She popped over during our first day and was approachable but not intrusive. Would happily book again if staying in that area.

    Kerri2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lower Rock Barn is in a beautiful location, with stunning views and plenty to do in the local area. Claire had thought of everything, even leaving us some welcome groceries for when we arrived. The barn was beautifully clean and extremely well stocked, it really did feel like a home from home! This was definitely the best air b&b we have ever stayed in - comfy beds, fluffy towels, toiletries and a good supply of board games! Thank you!

    Hannah2017-07-30T00:00:00Z

Delightfully quiet, just 10 mins walk from picturesque market town of Ross-on-Wye. 5 mins from M50, 5 mins walk from bus routes, 10 mins walk to supermarket. Easy walking distance to all amenities and gorgeous hillside and riverside walks. Our home is bohemian in style, the owner is a commissioned artist and yoga teacher! With lots of colour and artwork everywhere it's homely and cozy while being casual and informal. Ideal for solo adventurers and business travellers.
We love in a very quiet cul de sac yet just 10 mins walk from everything. It's an ideal sanctuary to come home to after a busy working day or after a long walk out in the Brecon Beacons or closer to home in and around the Wye Valley. I am happy for guests to use the kitchen if warned ahead of time, I'm not happy for late night cooking though as we are early risers! We are surrounded by healthy and not so healthy eateries and takeaways from Dominoes and Fish & Chips to delicious Thai, Indian and Ghurka restaurants, pubs and gastropubs, art gallery coffee shops (where I exhibit) and the compulsory KFC on the motorway (you're welcome to eat that one there rather than here!!). We have a big TV and a good range of DVDs which you are welcome to enjoy. We have a lovely garden where you can sit out and read. I am a yoga teacher and artist so the fair number of books around mostly focus on yoga / health and wellbeing. As a qualified healer and reflexologist, and if time permits, therapies can be booked.
Right on the edge of Ross on Wye we are in the foothills of both Penyard Woods and Chase Hills. You can be up in the woods in less than 5 minutes from our front door so bring your walking boots (we have a garage or space in the outside porch for them). We are literally in the Wye Valley, the river itself being 15 minutes walk or 3 minutes drive from here. You can park for free along the lower roads of Ross and walk many different routes along the river as circular walks or there and back walks. We have the Butterfly Zoo and LaserTag spaces at Whitchurch, closer to home there are tennis courts and crazy golf courses within walking distance. Ross has its own superb Swimming Pool, Sauna and Gymnasium with exercise classes (were I teach yoga) so fitness is easily maintained. We have our own small cinema, the Phoenix Theatre, and further afield in Monmouth we can offer the Savoy and Blake Theatres which often have films and shows which you can book ahead of your stay. Symonds Yat and the famous Yat Rock is a 20 minute drive away, the cathedral city of Hereford is 30 minutes housing the Mappa Mundi - well worth a visit. Everything in Ross itself is within walking distance of the bungalow including the bus to Hereford, Gloucester, Forest of Dean, Monmouth.
  • Amanda was hospitable and a fantastic help when I broke down near Ross. She went out of her way to help me, gave lots of useful advice and opened her home during my stay. Thanks for everything.

  • Great place and perfect stop for solo travelers. Amanda makes her bungalow a warm welcoming place to be, to rest and refuel before going further (continuing a bicycle trip in my case). I felt home in a matter of seconds, really good hub for short (or longer) getaways.

  • Marilyn and her husband have an absolutely beautiful old house in an excellent location! The pub is just over the road, there is plenty of parking, the rooms are lovely and spacious and the beds very comfy. The bathroom was very nice as well. There is nothing better than waking in the morning to the smell of bacon wafting up to your room. Myself and my parents stayed in the beamed rooms at the top of the house and we would stay again in a heartbeat. Such wonderful hosts!

Very pleasant to talk with and incredibly helpful with recommendations. This really is the epitome of a B&B. The home is lovely, with the most beautiful garden in the back which is perfect to relax in. Marilyn made a full English breakfast for us which was delicious.

  • We stayed in this beautiful home for 1 night whilst we were attending a wedding in the village. The hosts were extremely welcoming right from the time of booking up until we left. The room was stunning and clean, as as the bathroom, and exactly as described. The entire place had heaps of character. Marilyn was very accommodating, given the fact that we had a wedding to go to and were arriving and leaving at odd times. Then in a the morning, a fantastic Full English Breakfast right before we left. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anybody who wants a great stay in a quiet country home.

  • Thank you very much for letting us stay in your house. It was just perfect in every way- from the welcome cup of tea with home baking, the beautiful breakfast and recommendations for a route on Sunday.

  • What a gorgeous house. Wow! My wife and I absolutely adored Upper Weston: the large, clean, immaculate room, the stunning views and surround area and just how beautiful the house was. Marilyn was smiley, patient and always available and gave us some brilliant last minute food recommendations when we got caught out with no bookings on a Saturday night (protip: book your dinner in Ross-on-Wye in advance!). We swore we'd be back.

The room with ensuite was immaculate, within very easy walking distance from the centre of Ross-on-Wye and the continental breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruits, yogurts and pastries. Excellent in every way! Thank you again Jane and Tony!

  • Wonderful! It's probably the best experience we had with AirBnB so far. As in previous reviews I'd say that everything is ideal here. Nice cosy town, great location of the house (next to the river plus the pub The man of Ross 2 minutes away was very good). The house itself is beautiful, the room is nice and neat and has literally everything you need. And of course Jane and her husband are very nice people. Highly recommend.

The Coach House is situated in Boulsdon Gloucestershire UK and sits in 26 acres of grazing land in the great British countryside! It has large outdoor pool for the summer, grass tennis court for the odd Wimbledon tournament(!), garden overlooking our fields, 2 first floor verandas, hot tub and bar area with BBQ, pizza oven and paella cooker. If you fancy a night closer to nature then the garden has a small log cabin in it called "Brown Bear" which has large TV, DVD, double bed etc
Whilst we are in the countryside we are only 10 minutes from our local historic market town Newent which is a small parish about 8 miles (13 km) north west of Gloucester, on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean. The town includes a half-timbered market house, other houses of historical nature, and the site of the former small Victorian museum, the Shambles, containing a replica of a 19th-century street has been transformed and now real local traders occupy the once replica shops. There has been a settlement here since at least Roman times and the town first appeared in the Domesday Book. Newent's church, St Mary's, dates from the 13th century but the site has been used since the Anglo-Saxon period. St Mary's Church has stained glass windows from the famous company of Clayton and Bell. Our house is also next to The International Centre for Birds of Prey which is the oldest dedicated bird of prey centre in the world and one of the friendliest.

  • Wonderful warm welcome from the best hosts ever. Both the apartment and the guest's garden are immaculate. Everything that you expect from the description and much more is of the highest standard. This is a very spacious purpose built building of the highest quality. • Carol was a fantastic host - she was there ready and waiting for us with keys and to explain the area on the day, and beforehand she had emailed me some useful links for activities to look into. The flat is great and in a very quiet and rural area - perfect for a weekend escape to the countryside. There's loads to do in the area and all quite close by (as long as you have a car). Highly recommend.

  • We had the most perfect stay at The Roost. Carol and Barry are fab hosts and made us feel so at home and welcome. Never felt so welcome at a holiday letting before so the personal touch made it that bit more special for us and was so nice to feel at ease asking any questions and they were always happy to help and were able to get to know them a bit! Absolutely stunning location and a gorgeous apartment. All so well thought out and really well equipped. We didn't have the best weather but were still able to do so much and then come back to the lovely apartment and relax! Can't wait to come back again and couldn't suggest a nicer place to stay!

  • Beautiful tucked away little place me and girlfriend visited for the weekend. Carol and Barry were super friendly and helpful, even coming to fetch us when we were a bit lost in the country lanes. Lots of activities to do around the area with some incredible natural scenery and conveniently located shops and pubs a 10 minute drive from the accommodation. I hope to return next time the opportunity arises. Highly recommended!

  • Sally was very flexible in allowing us to stay at short notice with only a small surcharge for extra guests and communication was swift and clear. The apartment is just as described - full of character and in a great location. Cupboards were well stocked! Thank you!

  • Really lovely time in Hereford! Quiet and beautiful location with great views of the river. Sally's forethought with milk and biscuits and breakfast stuffs was so welcomed as I could have a cup of tea after my journey without having to turn back round and drive to a shop. Very welcoming and open - popped over to the house to ask to borrow some roasting trays and they were most obliging AND were flexible with our check put time which was really appreciated. Definitely recommend :)

  • Sally is lovely and helpful. She stocked the kitchen with breakfast and welcoming treats and gave us a tour of the ancient chapel that sits right beside our living space. The countryside is lovely -- classic narrow lanes with tall hedges, fields of yellow rape flowers, the river Wye and pretty rolling hills. if you have use of a car and want to get away to a gorgeous but of countryside this is perfect!

  • This is fantastic accommodation in a rural part of Herefordshire. It really is much more than a flat and is set in secluded grounds with access to a chapel. Sally and her family were really welcoming and made us feel really comfortable right from the outset. Sally had left us with plenty of supplies ( Chris was particularly pleased with the wine, choccy biscuits and marmalade!) and every essential had been thought about and supplied. It was lovely and peaceful and had plenty of places to go for a walk. The nearest pub is in Hoarwithy which is a 10min car drive and was lovely. Sally and Nigel had left us with a list of local amenities and a few maps so that we could go walking around the local countryside without getting lost. There is a brand new TV and DVD player which was great. Piglet (our dog) had a great time playing with Sally and Nigels dogs , they were very friendly and we did think we had adopted Finlay at one point.Sally and Nigel were really flexible with timings and nothing was a problem. We had such a lovely stay and would recommend staying at this accommodation to everyone who wants a bit of peace and tranquilty within a short distance of village life. We would definately go back.

We can't recommend this place enough and we know we'll be back again :) We really didn't want to leave on the Sunday, especially following Celia's wonderful breakfast in the drawing room, looking out onto the garden and fields beyond! Thank you again, we'll come and see you after we're married!

  • We had a great stay at Celia's. The house is situated in a beautiful and scenic spot, surrounded nature. The house itself is high spec and the room offers all that you could wish for; spacious, clean, well equipped and with plenty of light. Most importantly, Celia was accommodating and we'd be happy to come back again.

    Mattia & Linda2014-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Bridstow Guest House and Celia (and her husband John) are the perfect B & B combination. The house, called Hill House, is absolutely beautiful and our room was beyond expectations. It was quiet, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable, especially for afternoon naps. We were walking distance from Ross-on-Wye, Peterstow, and Broome Farm. We had access to public walking paths, which we used daily. We were also close to country bus stops (33/34, not 44 as specified in The Lonely Planet) which stops in both Hereford and Glouster. If you are at all in doubt about breakfast, the answer is a resounding "YES!" Celia is an amazing cook and her coffee and homemade preserves were delicious. This was the perfect home for a quiet weekend getaway in the English countryside.

  • We had a lovely stay at Moors Lodge, it was just right for the six of us. We were there for a wedding nearby (amazingly convenient) but sadly didn't get a chance to explore the area. All the communication with Jackie was very straight forward, she replied very promptly and was very helpful in answering all our queries. The lodge was very well equipped and Jackie had stocked the fridge and cupboards with more than enough for our breakfasts. The lodge was immaculately clean. I would definitely recommend Moors Lodge.

  • A lovely Easter weekend was spent in Jackie's wooden cottage in the lovely Herefordshire countryside. There was everything you could ask for in house, it was cosy and warm with fantastic views. We were a party of 4 and the house was more than enough space for us. Jackie also left a vast selection of food in the fridge for breakfast which was very welcome. The house is in the grounds of Jackie's farm and you can see her horses and cattle herd in the background which made for a lovely atmosphere. We had a beautiful weekend and would love to go back!

The Annexe is located on Bannuttree Lane, which is just off the A49 Hereford to Ross on Wye road. The A49 is be a busy road and the traffic can be heard from the property.
  • Trudy has put a lot of effort into this place and their converted garage has lots of mod cons, nicely deisgned and is very comfortable. The croissants and eggs were a nice touch as well as tea and coffee supplies. Although the ad does state it's on a busy road, I didn't sleep that well because of road noise and for me having kitchen upstairs in the bedroom and dining/tv downstairs was a little awkward. Overall I enjoyed my brief stay.

  • I treated my partner to a cosy, relaxing night away and that was exactly what we had. We loved our stay at The Annex and wish we booked to stay longer as it was the perfect place to unwind (and recover from a hangover as we did!) Trudy and Ian were great hosts, greeted us on arrival, gave us great tips regarding the area and even left us croissants, orange juice and other condiments that was a lovely touch. The Annex was spotless and very secure, the hot tub was an added bonus too - lovely on a cold evening!! Will definitely be back again soon, highly recommended. Thanks again both x

  • We had a lovely stay at The Annexe. Trudy and Ian were great hosts, available if needed but not intrusive. The property is furnished to a high standard and equipped with everything you could need. We were spoilt for choice at breakfast time with bread, eggs, cereals, croissants, fresh orange juice and more supplied in the kitchenette. The area is outstanding and we loved exploring. Ian and Trudy were very knowledgeable and we took their recommendation for lunch at The Royal and were not disappointed. We also booked dinner at The Moody Cow in Upton Bishop and cannot recommend it enough. Well worth the short drive and the price, the food and service were outstanding. Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one.

  • The most sincere and warm hosts who looked after us and our pup with without encroaching on our privacy. Nothing was to much trouble, even offered to look after our pup if we wanted to go out without him. Trudy and her husband are such lovely people and made us feel so welcome. A wonderful, quirky and high spec accommodation. The bed is so comfy that we had our first lie in for years. We loved it at The annex and we will come back.

  • Spent one night here for my fiancées birthday. We took our two dogs and we're welcomed from the first point of contact. Lots of nice touches including breakfast food, dog shower and hot tub. Trudy was full of useful tips from dog walks to places to eat which were all spot on! Would highly recommend

  • What an amazing place to stay-our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! Excellent hosts and real value for money as nothing was too much trouble and every little detail was well thought out. Great welcome pack and our dog Peggy absolutely had a ball running around the garden with Sunny! Wonderful place with lots to do and some nice dog friendly eating places too. Good luck Trudy and Ian

Our place has five individual private bedrooms, each with its own key. Each bedroom has a double-bed, its own washbasin and mirror, wi-fi and desk. Due to licensing and insurance considerations, only five guests may be accommodated at any one time. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/drier. Food required for breakfast will be purchased as requested, and is included in the price. N.B.:- The price quoted is: '£39 per person, per day'.
There is a large dining-room/lounge available, with leather sofas and a large colour television, radio/DVD player and a small library. Crockery and cutlery are provided in the kitchen, as well as an electric cooker; microwave; toaster and electric kettle, with tea, coffee, milk and sugar available. (We have a cat, but the cat has no access to the guest accommodation.)
Newent is a small market town situated on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean and 9 miles NW of Gloucester, with its famous cathedral. It lies at the convergence of two ancient droving roads from Wales en route to Gloucester and the Severn river crossing. It boasts a 13th. century church - St. Mary's, and has the longest cul-de-sac in Europe: Foley road. It is famous for its Onion Fayre which takes place every September. It is home to the National Birds of Prey Centre and the 3 Choirs Vineyard, England's most awarded single-estate vineyard with wine-tasting and a first-class restaurant. It is also at the centre of the Golden Triangle, so called because of the number of daffodils to be found in the surrounding area, with famous Springtime daffodil walks around the villages of Dymock, Kempley and Oxenhall. Only 200 yards from the house lies Newent lake, a beautiful stretch of water surrounded by park and woodland where many go fishing in the season. The carp can be plainly seen from the 'bridge' at one end of the lake.
  • This was an interesting old house (upper floors for airbnb) which had just been refurbished and decorated, so everything was in immaculate condition. The rooms are spacious, and light. We also appreciated the bookshelf of paperbacks in the living-room, and the television. Newent itself is a good base for travelling around the area, and is good for cyclists, with some marked routes available. All the Cotswold towns and villages, Ross on Wye, Gloucester and other places were an easy drive away. Stratford upon Avon was just over an hour's drive. This is a good area for people who want to visit historic sites and to walk and cycle. Newent has a small lake and an arboretum, which was actually a park. It has local shops and businesses. Nearby is a vineyard and some large Garden Centres, which are all worth a visit. Frances was very helpful, and brought us hot bread rolls every morning. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Crown House is a lovely place to stay, with lots of room for a family. Simon gave us a very warm welcome and it is nice they live on the premises so if you need anything , they are close at hand. The self-catering b&b is a great idea, meaning a lie-in if you fancy it! There is a lovely lake and park just over the road - great for children.
