Restaurant
“Nice menu, bar and good coffee in a beautiful location with a view. Or as they say on lonely planet: "The friendly ambience, hardwood floors, interesting artwork and smiling staff help to elevate this restaurant beyond its competition. Food is Icelandic hearty, ranging from heaping steak sandwiches with bacon and Béarnaise sauce to Asian (think Thai satay with rice). In a warmly lit silver building atop town. Book ahead in summer."”

“Þakgil is amazing. A flat valley, with jagged slopes rising up on all sides, covered by that beautiful velvet green brooks running down them. The landscape is very reminiscent of Þórsmörk.”

“A must see if you want to learn about how Vik managed before the raod was completed. A lgreat little film before hand and then you can walk all around the 100 year old shipwreck that service Vik and the surrounding islands”

Church
“The church is nice with a beautiful handmade wood pipe organ and glass windows. But the views are beautiful as well. Even further up the road you'll find the cemetary. You also have a nice view from there, a loaded stone wall and you can have a look at some Icelandic names on the gravestones. A peaceful and beautiful place although quite windy at times. ”
