“Interesting to visit regardless of your age. Learn about the life, health, and history of the Pamlico-Tar River. If you enjoy nature, you'll really enjoy this exploration of the estuary, constructed wetland, and river. Educational boat rides on the river offered a few times a week. ”

“An eastern NC legend and worth the drive to "Little Washington" to grab a bag of dogs. Head to the original location on the waterfront and expect a wait. You get your choice of "all the way" (mustard, onions and their famous white bean chili) or maybe just mustard and onions, or just chili, or maybe mustard and chili is your thing, or just plan. Whatever you decide there is NO KETCHUP so don't ask. Grab a bag of chips and a cold bottle of coke or pepsi, pay (cash or card) and then step out front, grab a bench on the sidewalk and......enjoy! ”

Point of Interest
“Checkout all the things to do here and also if possible, plan to make time to see some over the other sight that may involve traveling a short distance. The beautiful little historic town of Bath only 14 miles away. You may want to take a couple days and go to Nags Head and the Outer Banks. I would highly suggest that if you go there, take a full couple days so there will be time to visit all the beautiful light houses and learn some of the Civil War history and also the Black Beard history. It’s also very beautiful there with the sound and the ocean. There is so much more, I haven’t even listed but I promise, you will not find time to be bored.. ”

“Rentals galore! Bikes, canoes, kayaks, paddles boards, gear! This is the place to go. You can rent your equipment and they'll help you launch. Liane Harsh, the owner, can sell you a new Bianchi or fix your bike. She's wonderful, knowledgeable, and just all around amazing. She's our "go to" for all our bike needs. ”
