Holiday Rentals in Bridport

Just booked in Bridport

Quiet, secluded and self-contained apartment in a converted bake-house, off the street and adjoining the back of our house. Walking distance from Bridport town centre, a perfect haven for a relaxing break away. Parking in nearby side streets - not on site. We always put some provisions in the kitchen so that you have enough for breakfast on your first morning: tea, coffee, bread, cereals, eggs and milk (gluten or dairy free on request). REDUCED NIGHTLY RATES FOR THE REST OF THIS MONTH.
The flat will surprise you with its lovely sense of space. The garden room faces due east and is light and sunny - perfect for a morning yoga practice (mats provided)! It also has a single day bed, sofa, dining table, and satellite TV. There is a small, completely separate bedroom with a comfortable double bed, plus a bathroom (bath and shower) and a spacious, fully equipped open-plan kitchen: electric cooker with extractor hood, microwave, toaster, fridge and radio, plus another small dining table. There isn't a washing machine but if you are staying for a week or longer we can arrange for you to use the one in the main house. There are washing lines in the yard for drying clothes or wet camping gear, and a safe place to put bicycles overnight. We can provide a single mattress to put down on the lounge floor if you want to bring a fourth guest, and we also have a cot bed for very small children. All bed linen and towels are provided. There is a good wifi connection throughout the flat, and a mobile phone signal, but no land-line telephone. The French windows face onto the small garden area/patio, which is still under construction.
Bridport is as very popular holiday destination, being located as it is within the beautiful Jurassic Dorset coastal area. It is possible to walk to West Bay with its scenic harbour and promenade, or to drive to many other nearby places such as Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Weymouth and Dorchester. There is a twice weekly street market, a small and very interesting museum, an arts centre, the Lyric Theatre (especially good for childrens' events) and the Electric Palace cinema (more live events than film these days), together with a lively community of artists and craftspeople. We also have a vintage market on the last Sunday of the month. Bridport is also host to a film festival, the Bridport Prize for literature, a literary festival and a hat festival - in addition to the annual carnival in August!
  • Nice spot, great town, everything we needed.

  • Really enjoyed my stay there.. loved the surrounding areas. Well worth checking it out

    Steven2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jude and Will were very welcoming, as were the dogs who were waiting outside the front door the morning we left. The Old Bakery is just a short walk into Bridport and is super quiet at night, with a lovely light and airy feel to it.

    Lizzy2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jude and Will's place in Bridport us a real little gem. We only stayed a couple of nights but would have been comfortable for much longer. We took our young baby and our dog and the accommodation was ideal. We could even let the dog out into the garden! Jude and Will were incredibly welcoming and wonderful hosts; they were there if we needed them but didn't interfere. I'd highly recommend a stay here!

    Alex2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Will and Judes place was absolutely lovely, very clean and a great place to stay. They were both very friendly and welcoming, I would highly recommend The Old Bakery!

    tom2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • An interesting conversion of an old building. Plenty of space and good central heating. Only a ten-minute walk to countryside or town centre

    Barry2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Bakery is a quiet and peaceful self-contained cottage at the back of Jude's house. Jude and Will are on hand if you need them but they are not intrusive and so you have complete privacy. It's a lovely spot- easily walkable to the shops, restaurants and markets of Bridport. It's very good value for money too. A great place to stay.

    Lorraine2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jude and her husband were great, very quick to respond and very accommodating, especially as he arrived much later than anticipated. They left tea, coffee and even eggs and fresh bread, it was amazing. The space is great too, enough for 3 or 4 people without being cramped.

We provide two charming rooms located at the back of our 19th Century terraced house. You will have a cosy bedroom and your own wetroom and kitchen/diner with double doors leading to the secluded patio and cottage garden.
From your cosy bedroom with a double bed you step outside into the courtyard to access your own wetroom/toilet and kitchen/diner. Double doors open onto your own seclued patio and seating area looking out on the pretty cottage garden. Simple cooking facilities are available and we provide breakfast ingredients: cereal, tea, coffee, milk, butter, jam and locally produced organic bread.
We are situated a short walk from the centre of this buzzy Georgian market town with it’s theatres, cinema and wide selection of restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs. There's plenty of live music and festivals throughout the year including the From Page to Screen Film Festival, the Literary Festival, Food Festival and Hat Festival. Bridport is surrounded by beautiful countryside and lots of beaches. The nearest beach is at West Bay one mile south of the town.
  • We LOVED our one night stay at Paul and Shirley's in Bridport! They are the best hosts - really warm and helpful. We were there for the Bridport Prize and Literary Festival and the town was buzzing and fabulous and we had a brilliant time and the place was really central and just perfect. Lots more amenities than we expected with the kitchen and eating area and outside space. Lovely hot shower and toiletries and fresh sourdough bread and organic eggs for brekkie. Fab!

    Sarah 2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • There is a calmness about Paul that I found to be very restorative. And the accommodation was quirky, clean, comfortable and delightfully private.

    eleanor2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant stay here - had everything we needed, in beautiful accommodation. Paul was a great host - friendly and gave some good tips on local places to eat etc

    Helen2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time in Bridport! The Bolt Hole was beautiful, quiet and super relaxing! Paul and Shirley were wonderful hosts and made us feel very at home in their special house. The garden was very impressive too! Have already recommended it to many friends as one of those 'special' Airbnb experiences! Thank you!

    Stuart2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful escape in a cosy and welcoming environment. Paul and Shirley were relaxed and friendly; offering advice about local services, entertainments and restaurants. The home is perfectly situated to explore the centre of Bridport on foot. Although there is no parking on site, the long stay car park is within a few minutes walk and cost less than £3 per day. The private section at the back of their home is divided into two rooms with access to the quaint secluded garden. Provisions for a delicious substantial organic breakfast were included, flowers brightened the rooms, and the considerate touches of dressing gown, slippers and even umbrellas were appreciated. Thank you Paul & Shirley for making me feel so welcome - I wish I could have stayed longer.

    Gill2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was definitely a quirky little place to stay and located in central Bridport, only minutes from the many shops, pubs and restaurants. Paul and Shirley were very friendly and helpful hosts and didn't mind us traipsing through their living room to get to our accommodation at the back of the house. Sadly we couldn't sit out in the garden as the Easter weekend weather was horrible but it would have been a lovlely little suntrap otherwise. The breakfast items in the kitchen were hugely appreciated also. Thanks for a fun weekend!

    Lynsey2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Can't recommend this place highly enough. Wonderful. Thanks Paul.

    John2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place is a hidden gem in charming Bridport! The layout is genius and works so well, with the most gorgeous little garden outside. Full of thoughtful details to make us feel welcome, and Paul is the loveliest host. Sadly it was raining when we were there, so we couldn't make full use of the lovely outdoor place, but it was so comfy and relaxing nonetheless! We also had a great time out thanks to Paul's excellent advice to go to The Stable. My only complaint is that we didn't spend enough time there!

Spend as many nights as you like in a bright airy double room only seconds from the bustling town centre of Bridport. Situated in a quiet friendly apartment complex. Car parking available. Owner also offers a taxi service at reasonable rate. The owner lives in.
Town centre location is handy for all local amenities. The room is great for either a single occupant or a couple. A child in their own cot could be accommodated. You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook a meal or breakfast or just help yourself to the selection of breakfast items made available. Queenie, the dog, is a real feature of the experience - unobtrusive and brings a smile to everyones face... take her for a walk if you like! :) Please be aware that the flat is on the second floor. There isn't a lift.
Bridport is a lively market town and my flat is only one minute from the town centre so convenient walking distance for everything. The regular Wednesday and Saturday markets are a must for visitors. The proximity to the coast is a great attraction as is the countryside around the town. Festivals and cultural events take place all year round including literary and film festivals, hat festival, kite festival, country fetes, steam fairs, agricultural shows, food festivals, and many others.
  • Sally makes you very welcome and is very accommodating. Queenie is friendly too!

    Charles2015-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was great - she texted me the code to let in when she wasn't around, and everything was clean and perfectly laid out. She even left a load of breakfast stuff out for the morning. I felt totally at home and thought it was great value for money.

    Gareth2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was an excellent host, friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely and bright, clean with a super comfy bed. Queenie the dog was a delight, very friendly dog. Great location too, it was so easy to walk into Bridport. Highly recommended, would definitely stay again!

  • Lovely peaceful stay for the night at Sallys flat. Just a few minutes walk to the centre of Bridport and a short drive to sea. Thank you.

    Amanda2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • My six year-old son and I had a delightful time at Sally's flat. We didn't actually get to meet Sally, since she was away during our three day stay, but she couldn't have made it more pleasant. Her flat is extremely nice - we really liked the books and the art - and she had left lovely breakfast things laid out for us. We had a very pleasant, comfortable stay. The location of the flat is also perfect - just down the road from Bridport bus station, which was convenient for us since we travelled by public transport. Bridport itself is a lovely town, and is close to great fossil-hunting beaches in Charmouth and Lyme Regis (which is what we were after). I only wish we could have stayed longer.

    Deana2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Prompt response to my emails and Sally made us feel very welcome. The listing is accurate .The flat is very accessible to the town shops and amenities. Parking no problem.

There is a double air mattress and bedding availiable on request and plenty of space in the front room, pump is provided.
The flat is in a beautiful old building with loads of character and was designed by Thomas Hardy. Quiet and peaceful but within easy walk of the town centre. Would suit couples or families.
The surrounding countryside and coastline has many great walks and the town has lots of quirky coffee shops, restaurants, bars and a market on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
  • Tom’s flat is central for shops and eating. It is clean, spacious and has everything you need. Tom was always happy to answer any questions and help in any way

  • We stayed here whilst attending a wedding so didn't spend a lot of time in the apartment but it seemed to have everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. The apartment is very big and the bed is very comfy. Finding a parking space near the apartment was easy and the town centre is only a five minute walk away.

Large room, ensuite, own entrance, king-size bed, walk-in wardrobe, sofa, desk, TV, DVD, WiFi, contemporary decoration, oak floors, use of pretty garden, kitchen/dining room. Bang in centre of this vibrant town. Unfortunately no parking (town car-park nearby). Basic breakfast provided; cereal, fruit, toast, juice.Resident black Labrador!
Proximity to town, helpful personal hostess guide to everything Bridportian, lovely river walk within few hundred yards, friendly dog, and much much more!
I love being really close to the butchers, the bakers, the newsagents, the greengrocers, the best pub in town, The Tiger, and our boutique hotel, The Bull, where you can read the papers and get a coffee or food and sit in their garden. A very short walk behind the house brings you to the River Asker and a lovely walk along it to Morrisons. I know all my neighbours and Bridport is an unusually friendly town. And of course, we are only a five minute cycle ride to the beach.
  • My stay in Gillian's house certainly lived up to my expectations. Very comfortable room, access to her lovely garden , and Gill very welcoming and full of helpful suggestions. Would love to return!

  • Gillian is a wonderful host - thoughtful, knowledgeable, helpful and flexible. She has clearly worked hard to create a lovely room for guests, and this is excellent accommodation at a great price. The room is spacious, extremely clean, and towels, tea, coffee, and bathroom supplies are very generous. Her home is in the centre of town, with pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. Highly recommended and I'm sure we will stay with Gillian again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Gillian. The room is beautifully decorated, the bed is comfy, and it's great it has its own entrance and en-suite. Communication was excellent, and location couldn't have been better: right in centre of Bridport. And, unlike many other Airbnb places, breakfast is included!

  • Lovely big room with ensuite shower, own private entrance and welcoming chocolate biscuits tea and coffee. Handy to be close to Bridport centre. You’ll love my 1 bedroom cottage because it is in Bridport Town Centre (2 min walk) in a quiet part of town close to fabulous foodie places, pubs, arts centre and cinema. Great views of nearby hills from the 1st and 2nd floors. The beach is approximately 2 miles away (nice walk). There is a wood-burning Rayburn in the kitchen as well as central heating. Parking is on the street. This is my home, and I love it! . My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
The cottage is tucked down a walkway which opens into a shared space with neighbours, so is very quiet despite being in the town. The kitchen with the woodburning Rayburn is on the ground floor. It is well equipped with a gas hob and electric oven and dishwasher. No microwave though! The bathroom is also on the ground floor. Uptake steep stairs and you come into a cosy sitting room with TV and integral DVD player. Fabulous views of the Bothenhampton Hills. Up another set of stairs to the bedroom with double bed again with lovely views. All the windows have wooden shutters.
  • A beautiful little cottage in a perfect location for exploring Bridport and the surrounding areas. Very quiet but close to shops, plenty of places to eat and drink and the Arts Centre. Highly recommended for a relaxing break.

  • Carrie's home is full of beautiful little touches - stripped back floorboards, candles, claw foot bath, and a cosy 3rd floor bedroom! Definitely recommend a stay here, just make sure you're comfortable with steep staircases. We loved our 2 days over NYE and even got a free fireworks display or two from our vantage point! Thanks for everything Carrie!

We felt lucky to have found it.

  • Really nice, quirky little cottage - centrally located and walking distance to everything. There's no parking at the property but don't let that put you off - we parked easily in surrounding streets a short walk away.

My place is close to The Jurassic Coast, Bridport arts and culture centre and artesan quarter, the beach, South West coast path, Dorset heritage . There is free car park after 6pm opposite and long stay 50 metres up road plus free spaces behind house. The stairs in the house are steep and narrow.
Cosy, beautifully decorated, comfortable and homely. Well equipped kitchen (including nutribullet for smoothies, for your use if you wish). Steep stairs to first and narrow spiral stairs to second floor; not suitable for big suitcases.

  • I stayed at Rosie's for three nights. She was only there the first night, and she was great fun. The rest of the time I had the house to myself. It was lovely. Perfect location, quiet, and just an easy place to be in, somehow. Thank you Rosie.

  • We had a great weekend stay in Rosie's cottage, just a two minute walk into the main town of Bridport with a good range of shops to pick up all of your essentials for your stay. The light and spacious twin room and shower room were perfect for a weekend stay. There are a couple of cheap long stay carparks around the corner from the cottage so parking should not be an issue. Great location for people looking to get onto the Costal Path from West Bay.

  • We had a lovely time staying in Roger's attic, ideally placed to explore Bridport and local dorset beaches. Roger was very friendly and helpful, the house is full of warmth and interest and the kids loved seeing all the eclectic artwork, talking to everyone and trying to make friends with Sid the cat!. Would happily stay again. Sam

  • Roger's house is absolutely lovely and the attic room is spacious, airy with nice views. I had a very happy stay and very much enjoyed our chat over a cuppa when I arrived. I'd highly recommend Roger and his wonderful home.

    Annabelle2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely large, light room at the top of the house and very good location right near the centre of Bridport. Roger is a very nice, easy-going host and joined us for breakfast or a cup of tea in the mornings (we stayed 2 nights). The bathroom is a rather Heath-Robinsonish affair but all the more interesting for that!

    Patrice2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, very creative and warm. Roger was so welcoming and generous. The room was bigger than it looked in the photos and was light, airy, cosy and beds very comfortable. Had a great time. Also, such a short walk into town but still very quiet. Perfect location. Beach is also close enough to walk to. Very happy and would definitely stay again.

    Blazey2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Roger was a lovely host, and the room was clean and bright, and close enough to Lyme Regis to do a bit of sightseeing. Couldn't ask for more!

    Abigail2015-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Roger made us feel very welcome over a much needed cup of tea. The facilities in the house are accurately listed. The Attic is a lovely spacious and light room with a very comfortable bed. There are great views over Bridport and a glimpse of the sea. It is a brilliant location, only a few minutes walk into the centre of the town, yet on a quiet side street. We really enjoyed our shot stay, thank you Roger.

    Candida2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The attic at the Pomme d'Or is a lovely and light room, with extensive views over the rooftops of Bridport east and west. Comfy bed and excellent bedding, lots of space, plenty of sockets... Roger is a great host and made me feel at home straight away. He quickly found space downstairs for my bicycle (Bridport Cycles in Symondsbury; they deliver and pick up). The back garden - one of the traditional Bridport rope walks - is a great spot to have a cup of tea. Barrack Street is so central but also very quiet, as there is an effective cul-de-sac at the East Street end. I had a great time at the Pomme d'Or and hope to be returning shortly.

    Louise2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute booking for an impromptu weekend away so we didn't give Roger much time to prepare! Room was lovely, just as described, and house was in a wonderful location. Really enjoyed our stay here.

I have a three storey house in the centre of Bridport, a few mins from pubs, cafes and restaurants and other amenities.
In the middle of The Jurassic Coast, and Lyme Bay it offers lovely walks, and plenty of good eateries along the coast and the bay. Driving is straight forward along the A35, to various pretty villages and small towns, but there are some lovely scenic bus rides along the coast or through the countryside. I also have a good size porch where you can leave your clothes and muddy boots. !! Check in 4pm to 6pm, but I am flexible if you give me some notice. Check out 10am...again I am flexible. I do offer discounts for 2 or more nights booking.....just ask. We offer continental breakfast on request ; toast, cereal, coffee and jams for £5. please let me know your requirements when you book. There is an electric kettle, teas and coffees in each room, and fresh milk daily if you request it. Bridport has a large selection of cafes and restaurants offering larger selection of breakfast from about 7am. We are a no shoes house, so please bring soft shoes with you. Thanks Please read listing right though before booking.
The area is residential, but has a very good pub at the bottom of the road, with cafes nearby.
  • Veda & Andrew were very pleasant & helpful when we arrived, helped carry heavy bags up to the second floor. Rooms were clean & bathroom was fine. Appreciated the top sheet (in summer) & a flannel as well as towels. The double bed was a bit on the small side & an extra pillow or two wouldn't go astray. There was no breakfast but Veda provides fresh milk, tea & coffee & muesli bars. It was a value for money place!

  • Nice room in a nice house close to the heart of Bridport

    martin2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in someone else's house is always nerve-racking as you never know what to expect but I have to say Veda was so welcoming and friendly, i felt very comfortable throughout the stay. I had a single room in the top of the house, very clean, with a variety of teas which added a lovely little touch for myself a big tea drinker!. The location was also great, an easy walk into town and a short drive to the beach. I highly recommend staying here and if I am ever in Bridport again I will be returning. :)

  • This house is in a great location, a couple minutes walk to the main street in the town. Very quiet location, lovely clean bright room and very good value for money. Wood recommend.

  • Veda is a great host! Thank you very much!

    Lars2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The plus: Veda and Andy are friendly people. The house has character and is in a nice area in Bridport (5 minutes walk to the nearest restaurants and pubs). So very convenient for us. The minus: None of the bathroom are en suite. Despite being advertised as a B & B, no breakfast is served. And sadly the house isn't very clean especially the bathroom (floor, sink and shower dirty). For one night we put up with it but any longer we would have struggled.

    Valérie2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Prior to my visit, Veda was on hand to answer any questions I had about the accommodation, including location and the best way to get there, and she always responded very promptly. She gave me a friendly warm welcome, along with her sweet pooch! The room was clean, airey and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. The bed linin was fresh and crisp, and towels were provided. The bathroom was also super clean and welcoming, with quality facilities and a wonderful shower. The room was perfect for me as I was welcoming peace and quiet, which it provided perfectly. Veda and her partner were on hand to answer questions but also friendly conversation which I enjoyed very much. Although kitchen facilities weren't available, Veda was kindly accommodating to store some bits in the fridge and provided a teapot when requested. Overall, I superb example of a quality Airbnb, a leading example to follow. I have already booked my stay in September and can't wait to return to Bridport and Veda’s home. It is perfectly located for exploring Bridport town, the coast and further a field in Dorset. Only a walk from the town, you won't be short of places to eat, drink and soak up the wonder of Bridport!

Decorated in pale grey and country florals that remind me of my Grandma's house.
The house has a private courtyard which both rooms look out on and there is a lovely view of Allington hill in the distance. The courtyard opens up through a security gate to West St. Across the road is Waitrose and to your left as you exit is Costa coffee. So you will find yourselves right in the heart of Bridport where you can watch the world go by.
We are a 15 minute walk to West Bay and right in the heart of the market Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Janette was amazing, punctual in waiting for me arriving around 15.00, friendly, smiley, curious about my journey. She made me immediately comfortable, she asked me even when I prefer to have breakfast, giving me a range of time from 7.30 and 10.00 and served her the breakfast. She was also very kind in allow me to leave my backpack there until I had the bus to leave. The room is cosy and amazing, the bathroom even more and the house is located in a perfect position to visit the city and with a fabulous courtyard where I had breakfast. Highly recommend!

  • I couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend break away to Dorset for my boyfriends birthday. Janet's hospitality was great and we felt really well looked after. Our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Janet's home is absolutely stunning with such charm and character that it is hard to not feel right at home. Bridport is such a vibrant and quirky place! It's got such a quaint feel to it with lots of individual shops, great local pubs and markets to die for- the produce is all local too which is so refreshing! West bay is only a short walk away too (where they filmed broadchurch) we had a BBQ on the beach and watched the gorgeous sunset go down over west bay. Janette home is so central it was great for us as we don't drive and it was so easy to get to! We will defiantly be staying here again and would recommend our stay with Janette to anyone looking for a break away to the blissful Dorset coast!

Our room was perfect with a super comfy bed and we enjoyed a simple, nice breakfast. Janette is very friendly and welcoming and her home stylishly decorated and furnished. We'd love to stay here again and highly recommend Janette's home.

  • Janette 's home is beautiful, clean and the bed is so comfy. The Court House is right in the centre of Bridport affording easy access to the high street and all it has to offer. Janette is a great host, very welcoming and makes the perfect cup of tea after a long journey.

    Linda2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable bed and a quiet room despite it being so close to the town centre. I guess the reasonable cost reflected the fact that it was a share bathroom. This was not an issue as the occupants of 'the map room' made use of the bathroom with consideration to other users (us). The breakfast of cereals and fresh fruit was to our liking. Janette was lovely company and we look forward to staying again

Cosy self-catering holiday cottage, sleeping 4 adults, 1 infant and dog friendly. 200 year old cottage, recently renovated to high standard, ideally situated in the centre of Bridport and its historic quarter, home to Bridport's renowned arts, antiques and vintage scene. Bridport is the vibrant town of West Bay (West Bay was formerly called Bridport Harbour). Beaches and stunning Cliffs at West Bay are a five-minute drive away or a 15 minute brisk walk, along the River Brit.
Living room with dining area and wood burning stove. Kitchen with double oven/grill, fridge with freezer box and microwave. Main bedroom has a kingsize double bed and ensuite shower/wc. Small bedroom has a double bed in the form of a bunk bed with a single at the top, as shown in pictures. Main bathroom with bath and shower overhead. Small outside private courtyard. We welcome dogs, preferably only 2 small or 1 medium to large dog but open to consider. Regrettably we can not allow other types of pets. We have tried to think of everything that our guests might need and enjoy hearing that they have had a comfortable stay! We first came across Bridport through visiting West Bay and quickly fell in love with everything the town has to offer and the fact that we can easily walk to West Bay.
Our cottage is the centre of Bridport, right in the middle of Bridport's arts, antiques and vintage quarter and just 1 minutes walk from Bridport's central bus hub. We are uniquely positioned to allow everyone to enjoy all that Bridport, West Bay, the Jurassic coast, Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and neighboring counties have to offer. Bridport is known as Notting Hill on Sea by the Guardian, The Telegraph and the BBC. We love spending time here and chose the centre of bridport because of great restaurants, cafes', arts scene, live music, theatre, bars and can walk to West Bay's stunning Jurassic coast and harbour in 15-20 minutes along rivers and across fields (or jump in the car for a less than 5 minute journey).
  • Twine Cottage is ideally situated in Bridport near the main street and local amenities. The Waitrose nearby was very useful. We parked in the public car park opposite which was handy too. The cottage was very clean, stylish and well kitted out with all we needed during our stay. We appreciated the welcoming touches of fresh flowers, milk and biscuits. We found Twine Cottage, which is lovely, to be 'a home from home'! Thank you to Alex and Linnie for their help in making our stay very enjoyable.

    Annie2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our relaxed 3-night stay at Twine Cottage and definitely recommend its comfort, decor, atmosphere and central location. We would happily stay again. Thank you Alex, our stay was delightful.

  • Alex We have had a fantastic weekend in your cottage. The weather wasn't great but the cottage was warm & cosy with plenty of hot water. Very comfy beds too. We found some wonderful seafood restaurants nearby - The Watch House Cafe in West Bay & Hive Beach Cafe in Burton Bradstock. Will definitely be back. Thanks again. Sarah

  • Beautiful homely cottage in a great central location ~ extremely comfy beds & great amenities. Thank you! We loved our stay!

    Rozi2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We've just come back from a wonderful stay at Twine Cottage in Bridport. This was our first Airbnb trip and I can safely say, with Alex's great communication it was a very smooth break away. The cottage is lovely, it's very cosy and feels like a real home from home. It was also well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The cottage is in a great position, a short walk in to the town centre and even closer to a supermarket for supplies. Bridport itself had a good range of cafes and restaurants, we would have liked to have sampled more if we were staying longer. We walked from the cottage to West Bay (handy selection of OS maps in the cottage!) which was a nice walk, partly along the river and through fields to the coast and a good place to stop for a bit of lunch. We visited numerous other places over our stay, Lyme Regis being one which was really easy to travel to along the coastal road. We can throughly recommend a stay here, perfect for exploring the gorgeous Dorset / Devon coastline and for a relaxing break away. A big thank you to Alex and family for the lovely stay and we look forward to visiting again!

The town is celebrated for its vast array of small quirky specialist shops, markets and lively arts scene. It has often featured in nominations for best high street and and best market town in Britain. The market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, featuring a range of goods and local food produce. The larger Saturday market also attracts a good range of antique and bric-a-brac sellers – last summer totalling almost 120 stalls. The town and area has regularly featured in UK TV’s ‘River Cottage’ which is just down the road and is known for the high quality of its local food produce including high quality organic meats, much-loved specialities like Dorset Apple Cake etc. There are several high quality Farm Shops nearby and a monthly Saturday farmers market. The nearest beach and historic harbour is West Bay, the lovely location for the TV series ‘Broadchurch’ - 1½ miles by car, or a pleasant 40 min walk along the river. From here there are glorious walks both East and West along the hills and cliffs of the Jurassic coastal path.
  • The Tannery Penthouse was a spacious apartment well located in the centre of town and a few minutes walk from a supermarket. As it was just off one of the main roads – the flat was very peaceful and being on the top floor the views from the flat looked above the rooftops to the hills beyond. Mark was very helpful and I received ‘Things to do’ and directions information by email before my stay ensuring that I could plan ahead. The flat was very clean, the bed was very comfortable (which meant I slept very well) and the kitchen was well equipped. Also the wi fi – was an excellent consistent speed. Overall a great stay and I would definitely return if I am back in that neck of the woods.

  • Super location in Bridport. Well kitted out flat. Very comfy double bed. Excellent information given by host. Would stay again

    Tiny2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, comfortable accomodation with al the amenities of home. Made the stay very easy. Very helpful that basic cooking ingrediants were available, negating necessity of having to purchase same.

    Helen2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Mark provided a lot of extremely useful information about the flat and Bridport before we arrived. His neighbour was there to meet us and show us around and was very helpful. The flat is lovely and had everything we could wish for. It is very conveniently situated in the centre of town, but away from any noise. We enjoyed Bridport; went to a concert at the Arts Centre and ate in several of the superb cafes and restaurants.

    Rosemary2015-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was speedy to respond to our booking request and sent us lots of additional arrival and local eatery etc info via email which was very helpful. The location is perfectly central and it was nice to wake up to find the local market just on our doorstep on Saturday morning. The Tannery easily slept four people and we were particularly happy with the comfy double bed! Thanks Mark.

    Mauri2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tannery Penthouse is both cosy and functional, peaceful and located within easy walking distance of Bridport's amenities. Mark's neighbour Kiran was my contact during the visit. She was helpful and friendly.

    James2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's place is very nice, clean and cosy. It has everything you need, and is in a convenient location, next to many shops and restaurants. There are some great views from the windows and is located close to the beach. We had a lovely time staying at Mark's place.

    Narveet2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at the penthouse, every amenity and extremely comfortable bed! Also appreciated the sparkling rose and nibbles. Mark was very helpful, advising us where to go and what to see. Only suggestion would be to have somewhere to leave the keys if visitors need to depart before the cleaner arrives.

Our sunny south facing studio apartment is ideal for couples and solo adventures to explore. With its own balcony the Studio is close to the Jurassic coast its ideal for keen walkers and is only a 15 minute walk from West Bay where the recent Broadchurch was filmed. You’ll love this place because of the location and the ambiance. Bridport is a lively bustling market town popular for its arts and culture along with its antique street market every Wednesday and Saturday.
  • We had a great stay at The Studio. The space is well laid out, warm and cosy with some beautiful furniture. All the appliances and pots and pas you need to rustle up a quick meal are provided and we were really grateful for the thoughtfully provided basics so we could have a cup of tea with croissants and jam when we arrived. The studio is a short walk from the coast with some lovely pubs for an evening meal and cafes for some well deserved cake after our walk along the South Coastal Path.

  • Lin's apartment is quiet and secluded, and has everything you need. The juice and breakfast offerings were much appreciated. A 15 minute walk into Bridport meant that we could go out for dinner and not have to worry about driving. If you don't mind a 30 min walk there's an amazing seafood restaurant in West Bay too.

  • Amazing little studio a 5 minute drive from town and a 5 minute drive from the beach. It's actually quite spacious with a separate kitchen area and very comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and responded promptly when I had to get in touch. Would highly recommend.

  • Lin and Bill made us feel extremely welcome - especially appreciated was the fridge stocked with arrival essentials (plus a few "non-essentials" such strawberries and croissants!) Tip - wifi signal is strongest in the kitchen area. Immediate locality very pleasant. Easy walk into Bridport centre (10 mins) and West Bay too (about 20 mins.)

A small cosy cottage, and we love living here. In the Summer the garden is full of colour - and bees are welcome! Bedroom has TV, books, videos, classical music CDs, and of course, tea and coffee making facilities. A light breakfast included.
This a small, non-smoking house - you will have the pleasure of the biggest room. SHARED bathroom with shower, toilet and basin, (no bath), shower all day if you want in our double sized shower. Don't bring towels, shampoo or soap as we will supply, but do bring your own toothbrush! DOUBLE BED (4 ft 6 inches) with lovely mattress on sprung wood base with a metal head and foot. TV, wi fi, wardrobe, drawers and writing desk area for your laptop/notebook/ipad; tea and coffee making facilities and a selection of classical CDs and films with a player (or a few books to peruse and maybe take with you if you want to finish one). Use of washing machine for a load if you are staying 2+ days. Please note that we are on a MAIN ROAD, although the windows have curtains and double glazing. Bed and Breakfast may be scrambled eggs on toast and fresh fruit, or maybe a bacon sandwich, fresh fruit with yoghurt. Vegetarians can feel free to tell us, and be served accordingly (I have a lovely breakfast crumble recipe!) Tea (including green, please ask) or good coffee - expresso or cafetierre. We will serve breakfast up until 9.45 am.... but you can make a special request for a bit later the night before. We are 12 minutes walk downhill to shops and pubs and cafes, and we have 4 supermarkets within 5 minutes drive. You can also get a bus right outside the house every hour which will take you to Weymouth in one direction, and Lyme Regis the other. We are less than 10 minutes drive to West Bay, or you can walk it in about 35 minutes - where you can get the BROADCHURCH experience if you are keen. Our home is 200 years plus. The doors close but there are gaps at the top and bottom! However, the double glazing works well. There's no carpet on our floors, the room is original boards - but in Winter the house is warm and cosy and we can supply blankets to add to the duvet on the bed, and of course in Summer it should never be too hot but we can supply a fan. If you look at our pictures, you will see two cats, although we only have one now. She doesn't have access to your room, but you'll see her around.
Please note that we are on a MAIN ROAD. Bridport is a small town with it's own "feel". Many independent shops, market twice a week, some good eating places. Ask me how to find your way. With a car places like Chesil Beach or Lyme Regis are easy to find. You can walk from town to West Bay on the coast in about 30 minutes.
  • You know what they say about the English: They keep a stiff upper lip. And they do! But it is so oft forgotten that they are also one of the warmest hosts on the planet. Don't believe me? Go and stay at Mr. & Mrs. Mac, and you have no choice but to agree. They hold the fine art to make you feel at home. REALLY at home. The place is spic & span, they have an incredible eye for detail, which turn this old cottage into a lovely, warm nest to spend a couple of nights in. My two kids were overwhelmed with Mrs. Mac's charm (and the homemade jam and smoothies...). A downside? Yes, but only one you have in every old cottage in the world: acoustic insulation is non existent. Nothing a couple of cheap earplugs won't cure... so we slept like a log in our 'silent' room.

    Kurt2014-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was our first stay with Airbnb and we couldn't have had a better experience. Mr & Mrs Mac are very kind and we fell in love with their garden and their house. The breakfast is unforgettable! It felt like home and if we are back in Dorset one day, we definitely try and spend another night in this beautiful room (there are lots of books that will prevent you from sleeping even if you are tired! :) )

    Gaël2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a couple of nights here earlier in July. The house is lovely and comfortable and we were made very welcome. We had some great conversations with the lovely Mrs Mac and her (equally lovely) husband John. We were en route to another part of Dorset but would happily have stayed in the area and with Mrs Mac for longer.

    Kate2013-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful say at Mrs Mac's. Great room, great breakfasts and wonderful conversation. Thoroughly reccomended.

  • We had a lovely and very comfortable stay with Mr and Mrs Mac! A warm welcome with a cup of tea and a fantastic breakfast. They were both great company and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. West Beach was a real treat if you have time to head over there during your stay.

    George2014-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Not our first time here, and it becomes hard not to feel like coming 'home' after knowing these people a little bit. A negative note? No. Can't think of one. We might visit them again, that says it all realy. Thank you for having had us!

    Kurt2015-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Mrs Mac! Friendly and caring, she looked after us really well, and the room was lovingly prepared down to the detail, offering a lot of comfort. We loved the breakfast! All was well cared for and clean, and we highly recommend Mrs Mac for a great stay!

Follow in the footsteps of the Broadchurch characters. Close to town centre. Extremely comfortable twin beds and quiet location will give you a fantastic night's sleep!
Comfortable, warm sitting room with 3 piece suite and southerly aspect over the enclosed pretty front garden. Central heating + gas fire. TV with DVD / freeview channels. Kitchen with full oven / hob, fridge & washing machine + small dining table & chairs. Upstairs is a twin-bedded room with plenty of cupboard space and a bathroom with shower over the bath. Please note the water pressure isn't great so whilst showers are possible, a bath is best. Outside there is an enclosed garden with a seating area and folding bikes (in the shed) available to borrow.
Smart, turn of the century terrace. Please note there is strictly no parking adjacent to the property however, there are on-street parking places in the immediate neighbourhood.
  • A tiny retro fifties cottage, tucked away in a quiet alley away from the main road. Spotless and comfortable.

  • A lovely clean character cottage in a good location that’s close to restaurants and easy walk to West Bay.

    Paul2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Noeline and Robert have been very helpful with all enquiries prior to arriving. On arrival the cottage was clean, tidy and in turn everything we needed. It's a short walk from town, so unable to get lost even if we tried it was impossible. The front room is cosy and spacious. Our granddaughter liked stretching out on the rug on the floor with her books. The beds are very comfy, the noise from outside (nearest road) is barely audible which promoted a lovely nights sleep. All in all if your looking for a get away in Dorset, which is confirtable, clean, walking distance to local transport (and pubs) look no further.

    Kimmi2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy quirky little house. Retro kitchen. Clean, everything worked, heating was good, good value for a short stay.

    Giles2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Little cottage, small but comfortable, very good sleep in the beds and clean. We stayed in December and the house was warm and with plenty of hot water. We aren’t big people but it must be emphasised the stairs are very steep with a bend in them, quite difficult to carry suitcases up and down. The kitchen is very old, and indeed quirky, but with all the basics. The bathroom is also very small, we found the bath difficult to turn around in as it is narrow and I hit my head on the towel rail as there is so little space - be careful! Access down a narrow path from the main road which makes arrival less easy.

    Nick2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quiet house, beautifully furnished, quirky kitchen, good experience.

    colin2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house had everything we needed and more... We also appreciated the local info and maps, board games, tea bags, and plenty of cooking and cleaning equipment. The description was accurate. The house was furnished and decorated very nicely and it was a pleasure to stay there. As the house is a short walk to the town centre, it was convenient for catching the Jurassic coast bus, which we used to walk parts of the south west coastal path.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Jane's great Bridport apartment. It is centrally located and easy walking distance from lots of great places to eat and drink, and there is also a Waitrose nearby to stock up the fridge. Jane was very helpful from the moment we booked, and the whole process couldn't have been easier. Sadly we were only in town for 2 nights for a wedding - but we both agreed that we'd love to come back again for a break and a chance to explore the beautiful surroundings. Thanks Jane!

  • We had a beautiful stay at Jane's apartment! We were a couple, a 1year old and our nanny from Cambridge. Jane got us sorted with a brand new travel cot and stair gate for our visit. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and spacious, also tastefully decorated. The location is good: by foot you are minutes from shops and restaurants in Bridport, and the Jurassic coast is accessible by car and bus. Great value for money. Would come again.

  • We had a great stay at Jayne's apartment. It is very spacious and feels like a house rather than an apartment as it is on 2 levels. Cosy but spacious lounge and dining area. Private parking. Well equipped kitchen. Jayne communicated all information in good time before the stay.

    Abigail2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jane was great in terms of the coordination of our booking and always very prompt to respond to queries (of which there were few as everything was so well planned!). The only one minor comment (which is out of Jane's control) is the street noise which was a bit loud at times as we were there in the heat of the summer with windows open. The flat was a really good location and easy walk to all amenities - we couldn't have asked for a better spot! Definitely recommend the flat to anyone.

    Liz2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Huge flat right in the heart of Bridport. We spent three days here, great for trips to nearby Charmouth fossil hunting with the kids.

  • We had the most fantastic stay in Jane's Apartment. Its was a beautiful place and had everything you could possibly need. With 3 young children Jane had thought of everything. The games and toys were a massive hit. On our only wet day we made good use of the chess set and have left Bridport with all 3 children having learnt to play now. The kitchen had all the equipment for cooking and I was delighted to see a cafetiere for our morning fresh coffee. What surprised us was the size of the apartment. It was far more spacious than it seems in the photos. All the bedrooms were great sizes to and all very clean. The bathrooms were lovely too with a good shower. With 5 people staying 3 toilets were great. Parking is to the back of the apartment and wonderful to always have a guaranteed space. I would highly recommend Jane's apartment and can't wait for a return visit.

    Hannah2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Janes flat. The pictures don't do it justice. It is so spacious and well equipped. Fantastic for a family trip and a very central location walking straight out onto the high street and close to west bay etc. We would highly recommend Janes flat.

    Caroline2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Bridport is a cute little town with tons of amenities close by. It was a great place to stay to explore the coast with the family. The apartment is spacious - more than enough room for the five of us. The street it is on is pretty busy and noisy - as the windows had to be open, for the heat, we experienced a lot of noise at night and early in the morning. Jane only communicated with us to give us the name of the person to contact when we arrived, to get the keys. We cannot provide other feedback as our connection to her was limited to that. The parking became an issue when a neighbor nearby was using our spot and we had to track him down and explain we had no other place to park. When we finally tracked him down, but he did not use our spot again.

  • Phyllis was so welcoming, despite our very scruffy appearance after a hard day's hiking, bending over backwards to make us feel at home. The room was pretty, quiet and very comfortable and breakfast was wonderful.

  • A really warm welcome from Phyllis, a lovely comfortable room with a great outlook and convenient to everything in lovely Bridport. Everything we needed was there, and it was really well thought out. Great healthy, generous breakfast.

  • Phyllis is a lovely host and we felt so welcome. The cottage is in a brilliant location in Bridport and you can easily walk to the top destinations. The room and bathroom had everything we needed and (importantly!) the bed was incredibly comfortable. Phyllis cooked us a delicious breakfast which was very welcome after the wedding the night before. Thoroughly recommend this spot as a peaceful home away from home.

So clean, chic and cozy. Many thanks to you guys, for us it was a fantastic experience.

Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families. The room has a very comfortable new double bed, and there's also a vintage drop-arm single sofabed in the room, which might be useful for families. In case of allergies, we have pets around house - a cat, and two guinea pigs who mostly live outside. No TV, but good wifi. I work full-time, so our home is clean, but it not hotel-quality! longer stays are welcome.
My house is in a traffic-free street of listed townhouses a stone's throw from everything Bridport has to offer. I'd call it chic and basic, if that phrase wasn't already in use by a funky hotel chain : ) everything is there, it all works, and it's very comfortable and welcoming. Your room has a comfortable double bed with plenty of bedding and pillows so that you can get it just right. There's also a hot water bottle for you to use, and you'll also find books, plenty of plug points, a desk and the WIFI code waiting for you. There's coffee and tea in the kitchen, and I provide self-service breakfast foods in the kitchen for your use. Make yourself at home! There's no parking on the street, but the adjacent long-stay carpark is only £2.80 per day, and free after 6.30pm. There is a tiny back yard with seating and plants if you like to be outside.
Our house is right in the centre of town, minutes from pubs, art centre, Electric Palace, shops, restaurants and takeaways, but our street is too narrow for cars, so there is no traffic apart from unloading. Parking is available in the long-stay carpark just around the corner, accessed from East Street (use DT6 3LL in your sat nav). Drive through the short-stay carpark and contine into the long-stay section - it continues round the corner, so it's bigger than it looks. You'll see the tall townhouses of my street over the wall on your right, accessed from the pedestrian gate at the very bottom, or the pedestrian exit beside Long's Chip Shop. It costs a very reasonable £2.80 per day, and is free between 6pm and 8 am and also on Sundays and bank holidays.

The location is so quiet considering its so wonderfully central for the town and also has easy access to the beautiful surrounding countryside. • Great apartment for getting around west bay and surrounding areas. Stylishly done with everything you need. Great location with a lot of options for dining out and also local shops/supermarkets if you just fancy staying in. Would definitely stay here again!

  • My wife and I stayed at the "Art studio" for a couple of nights as a base to explore the Jurassic coast. Wow, what a beautifully decorated and furnished apartment! The ideal place to relax and unwind after a day out walking. Centrally located in Bridport with all that the market town has to offer, and only a short drive away from the beach. The building also houses a charming bookshop, which is well worth a visit. Katie was lovely to deal with, and full of recommendations, the only problem being that there wasn't enough time to do everything, so we hope to return for another stay.

    Oliver2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in this apartment for a weekend to attend a wedding in Dorset. Great location, with parking nearby, and shops and restaurants just around the corner. Lovely views of the town from the window too. Apartment furnishing is very trendy, and the bed is possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Only downside is the mirror in the bathroom has poor lighting (wouldn't usually be an issue but for we were getting ready for a wedding). We had a minor issue with the shower when we first arrived but Katie was super helpful and got it sorted straight away, and left us a little gift as an apology which was much appreciated. Would definitely come back and stay here again and recommend to others :)

    Kim2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, modern apartment - perfect for two. Very clean and had everything we needed - including cooking utensils. Great location in Bridport, near places to eat including a supermarket as we cooked in a few nights. Easy to get to west Bay and Lyme Regis for days out.

    Laura2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at the Art Studio. The flat is freshly (and beautifully) decorated, right in the centre of Bridport. It's small yet feels spacious and bright. Super-comfortable bed. We loved that you can hear the town clock chime every fifteen minutes (though perhaps not ideal for a light sleeper!). We visited for a whole week, and would gladly have stayed longer. Bridport packs a punch - lots of great restaurants, theatre and cinema, twice-weekly market and a big antique and vintage scene, not to mention the stunning Jurassic Coast a few minutes away and other must-visit towns nearby. Katie gave us a whole list of great recommendations, which were very welcome, and was a helpful and patient host. This flat is a real gem - we'd love to go back.

    Alice2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great central location in what we thought was the prettiest bit of the town. Excellent access to the Jurassic Coast - we headed out to walk from Lyme Regis back to Bridport and the taxi to Lyme Regis was only £20 and took about 20 mins. Very comfy bed and loved the decor and the kitchen/living space. We were a bit more aware of the traffic noise that we would have liked but it wasn't a problem. The kitchen area was lovely - there was no microwave which didn't bother us but worth knowing. Great position for local eateries and we bought a really tasty salad and sandwich for our day's walk at the sandwich place just opposite the front door. Well worth visiting Hardy's Monument if you like stunning views of the countryside and coast.

    Helen2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment beautiful, clean and well equipped for us. Accurately described on listing. Didn't get to meet Katie, but she gave clear instructions and lots of recommendations. Worth knowing there is no microwave or iron, but who really needs those on holiday! Comfortable to be in and sleep in. Be prepared for noise from street at pub closing time. I would stay here again.

Lovely room with its own bathroom in a relaxed family house (with pets!). Minutes from restaurants, the Arts Centre, Bridport Electric Palace and The Lyric. Only one and a half miles from the Jurassic coast (easily walkable if you fancy it). Fabulous West Dorset -perfect for a break. Artists, writers, musicians very welcome. There is a light breakfast in the private dining room included.
This relaxed room has a feather duvet and pillows and includes exclusive use of the shower room next door. Just minutes from the centre of Bridport with its twice weekly market, vintage quarter and great bars and restaurants. Contact me for details and prices. We are wedding guest friendly and can provide a hair dryer and clothes steamer on request. Also, gay friendly, always.
Bridport has been voted Best Market Town in UK and deservedly so. Plenty to see and do. The famous Saturday street market, the Vintage Quarter, three (yes, THREE), theatres, the coast and wonderful countryside.
  • We want to thank you for being so gracious and opening your beautiful home to us. We had a wonderful time in your fantastic house. The view from the living room where we had a breakfast was wonderful! We could feel like we are in a castle on a hill:) Katherine place is about 5min drive or 30mins walk to West Bay. We could park our car at West Bay parking very easily because we could go there before 10am. (It seems to be very crowded after that time). Even after having relaxing breakfast we could have a of time for sight seeing at Jurassic Coast because her place has splendid access to the coast line. We recommend her place highly!

  • We only stayed one night and unfortunately arrived late but Katherine and her partner were relaxed about that. The room is spacious with a very comfy bed. We had our own bathroom next to the room, which was modern with a great shower (bring own toiletries). To cap off a good night's sleep, we were served a lovely breakfast in a dining room with a view. Katherine and her partner are welcoming hosts and we'd have been happy to stay longer.

Bridport (just a ten minute walk to the centre) is an attractive and lively town with the coast at West Bay a mile and a half away. There is a vibrant street market every Saturday and Wednesday (smaller in scale during the off season) and the vintage quarter is definitely worth a visit. The arts are well represented by Bridport Arts Centre, the Lyric Theatre and the Electric Palace. The vintage quarter hosts occasional open art studio events. Fantastic walks on the South West coastal path or further inland around the surrounding villages. Fossil hunting at Charmouth beach; safe, sandy beaches at Lyme Regis and Weymouth are just a drive away.
  • The lodge is a delightful cottage in a great location only 10 minutes walk into Bridport. Frances has made it really comfortable and a home from home with stylish decor. Thanks Frances, we hope to be back!

  • Frances was very friendly and welcoming on arrival, which was lovely and she also gave me some great tips for sightseeing! The cottage was well appointed and absolutely spotless! I did find the cottage a little cold but then we have had a deluge of rain! And unfortunately the electric power shower is very temperamental! Otherwise a great location for sightseeing and a very comfortable stay in Bridport. Future visitors might find it useful to know that the turning for the Gables can be found opposite Lloyds Pharmacy by the medical centre.

  • We had a lovely stay at the cottage- it was a perfect bolt hole close but not to close to our family at Christmas. It's is decorated beautifully and has everything that we needed. It's in such a lovely quiet place but close to all amenities. We would definitely like to stay again

  • A charming and well equipped cottage, within walking distance of all the amenities Bridport has to offer and a perfect base to explore Dorset and beyond. Has an enclosed garden to contain your dog and myriad public paths for walking;we found the walk to West Bay,at a couple of hours, there and back to be perfect for our terrier. Frances greeted us with warmth and was always helpful and friendly. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

  • Awesome place, close enough to Bridport to be really convenient for the shops but tucked away so really quiet. Lovely house, perfect for us and our two kids. Host was super. All in all a great place and lovely location!

    Chris2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Lodge was wonderful - it's a perfect space for two (plus our small pooch) - lovely welcome pack with wine and food, and nice touch with the candle. It's in a great location - Bridport has nice grocery shops and the George was a lovely bar/restaurant - so lovely we had dinner there twice. It's in a perfect location for West Bay, Burton Bradstock, Lyme Regis and gorgeous walks on the beach, the costal path and to Golden Cap. May well be back.

    Charlie2015-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. The venue has a great location close to Bridport high Street. The accommodation was very comfortable and the kitchen had all the necessary amenities when we choose to stay in.

  • We really enjoyed our stay and we were made to feel very welcome by Frances. The cottage was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. It's a lovely cottage in a great location, close to beautiful beaches and some fantastic seafood restaurants.

It is our home, and we love it, and when we are not staying there we hope that our guests will enjoy it too! The fully-fitted kitchen has a large gas hob and fan oven, dishwasher, washing machine with dryer, fridge freezer and microwave. All crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are available for you to use. We keep the cupboards stocked with basics such as coffee, tea, sugar etc. There is a small TV, DVD player, digital radio and broadband wifi. There are lots of lovely independent shops to explore, including the famous Leakers bakery and Bridget's Market greengrocers literally 30 seconds' walk from the apartment. Bridport has fantastic local support for its regular programme of festivals and events, such as the renowned film and literature festivals, the various music, food and drink festivals, and the annual street carnival and torchlight procession when it seems that the entire town comes out to celebrate. There is even a hat festival! Bridport Arts Centre, the Electric Palace cinema and Lyric Theatre host a flourishing programme of theatre, film, dance, music and comedy events throughout the year. The annual Bridport Open Studios event invites visitors to explore the galleries and studios of local artists, designers and makers. There are some wonderful places to eat out in Bridport, including the amazing Dorshi restaurant which is literally on your doorstep. The Red Brick Cafe in Bridport's vintage quarter is another favourite of ours. There are eateries to suit all tastes, and lots of lovely country pubs in the surrounding villages. The breathtakingly beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline is also on your doorstep. Within a few minutes walk from the apartment you can be enjoying the footpaths and admiring the views, both coastal and inland. The beach and harbour at West Bay are 30 minutes walk or five minutes drive away.
  • Dear Catherine and Paul, Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful home. This is our first airbnb experience and weren't sure what to expect - but you've certainly set the bar high! The apartment was clean, homely and had the comfiest bed ever! The kitchen had everything you'd ever need and the selection of books made a very rainy day that much better. The handbook you've written was especially helpful - having your recommendations for our first ever trip to Dorset made it a stress free week. Thank you again, Mandy and Chloe.

    Mandy2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We spent four nights at Catherine's lovely comfortable apartment, and wished we could have stayed longer. It is stylishly furnished with great attention to detail, and with many extra touches to make you feel at home, as well as a great range of teas, coffee, milk and some much appreciated goodies to welcome you on arrival. The well equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking, with just about every kitchen utensil you could possibly need, as well as a great range of herbs, spices and other useful items. The bed is extremely comfortable and the modern bathroom has a huge walk in shower. The location is perfect, being right in the centre of the town, but down a small alley which is extremely quiet at night. There are many excellent pubs and restaurants right on the doorstep, and Catherine has provided a comprehensive guide to these and to local sights. We made good use of the ordnance survey maps of the area which are also provided, along with guide books and a huge selection of novels, CDs, DVDs etc. There is a terrace garden outside the apartment, great for days when the weather is nice enough to sit outside. Catherine is the perfect host, responding quickly, providing really useful information, and doing everything to make sure you have a great time in her apartment. We will definitely be returning and recommending The Terrace to our friends and family.

    Christine2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Catherine's flat. The place was exceptionally clean, and the bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in. There is no parking but the public car park is very close and inexpensive. The flat is situated perfectly for nipping into town for yummy food or charity shops, and there was a large collection of maps which made planning walks easy. There was also an extensive DVD collection, perfect after a long day out! Catherine was easy to communicate with and really helpful. All in all, a lovely flat for anyone wanting to explore Bridport and the area.

    Helen2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful stay in a beautifully central location. The Terrace was very comfortable, especially the bed!! Bridport has so much to offer .....a very enjoyable stay and I'll definitely return.

    Joyce2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic apartment in an extremely central location. Everything was clean and very nicely decorated. Instructions for getting in were simple. I'd recommend this apartment highly.

  • I've been trying to think of something for Catherine to improve but just can't - the apartment is stylish, clean and in the perfect location. We had a wonderful time and Catherine is the perfect host. Definitely recommend staying here to anyone who fancies a cultural, relaxing time in Bridport.

    Harry2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Catherine's home was wonderful. From the day I made the booking, Catherine has been attentive and kind, reaching out early on just to get in touch, and then sending a long, detailed message about accessing the flat, and parking in the days leading up to our stay. Catherine's instructions for finding the flat, and for finding parking were perfect. We were lucky to snag a free parking space just down the road, but, as Catherine said, there was plenty of cheap long-stay parking nearby. We arrived a bit later than we'd planned and when I asked Catherine about checking out a few hours later to make up for it, she was very kind and accommodating and said that we could stay as long as we needed to on the day of check out. This helped a lot as we were able to spend a nice morning at the house without having to rush off. The house itself is immaculate. We immediately felt right at home in the bright and spacious apartment. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials as well as a nice bottle of Dorset cider and some chocolate for us. The house was spectacularly clean. The shower is huge! The bed was soooo comfy. We also really enjoyed looking through the impressive book collection :) Catherine also has a very detailed binder full of information about things to see and do in Bridport and the surrounding areas. We took a gorgeous and easy walk to West Bay, and tried out Catherine's recommendation of Dorshi for dinner. All in all it was a cozy, peaceful, and relaxing break and I'm seriously thinking of going back for a longer stay in the not too distant future! xo Shari

  • We have just returned from a lovely week at The Terrace and have already talked about when to return! The apartment is very central, with a great range of restaurants, pubs and shops nearby. Saying this, once you go inside you wouldn't realise it and can relax in a lovely home away from home. It's immaculate and offers everything you would need and more. Thank you Catherine!

  • Beautiful traditional Dorset cottage tucked into a corner on the outskirts of Bridport - great location for exploring coast and inland on foot, bus or by car and 4 min walk to Morrisons an added bonus. Plenty of room, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Sunny sheltered garden. Family ( 'kids' aged 11 -21) all scored it a unanimous 'great'.

    Louisa2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Flood House is a lovely, well equipped cottage with plenty of space. Near the centre of Bridport, it's in a convenient location for visiting the sights of Dorset. Daniel was a great host, very welcoming and provided everything we needed. We'd definitely stay there again.

    Gill2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Communication was great. House well equipped and well stocked. Great location for walking to Bridport centre and West bay. House is between two main roads so outside location is not the most scenic but it did not effect our stay at all since the inside of the cottage is so cosy and the location was excellent. Plenty of space to park for free which was brilliant. Cooking on the Aga was great fun!

    Kathryn2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful holiday :) Daniel our host kept in contact so we knew we could ask if any problems came up (none did though!). The house was spacious and comfortable, the garden was bigger than expected with nooks and cranny for the children to explore. I now have serious Aga envy, our own home seemed cold and uninviting after 5 nights with the Aga. The location was great for us, within walking distance of central Bridport, a short drive to Charmouth and Lyme Regis and with a supermarket practically next door impromptu baking with Grandma was easily organised. There is a busy road and building supply store next door but thanks to a massive stone wall in the garden and thick cottage walls we were never bothered by either. I am already scanning the calender for an opportunity to return.

    Mary2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay in stunning location! Daniel was an excellent host and a dream to book with! He was very quick to respond and help with anything we needed along with going the extra mile and recommending the best restaurants in the area which really helped. Cottage was very clean and homely and they left some nice touches which was appreciated. Location was perfect, great if you are active and love a run along the coast or just a great coastal walk on the beach and cliffs. A great getaway from the city! Definitely recommend to anyone thinking of booking! Thanks again, Hannah

    Hannah2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a good location on the outskirts of Bridport but walkable to the beach at West Bay across the fields. Also loved nearby Burton Bradstock beach. Excellent Morrison's nearby. The aga was great for cooking (we have one at home anyway so it was straightforward) and the lounge was spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms spacious and comfortable though a bit noisy with the windows open. Lovely garden. Very helpful and attentive host.

    Sylvia2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, everything you need. Walking distance to beautiful West Bay. Driving distance to lots of other attractions. We visited Lyme Regis and Monkey World. We had fun cooking on the Aga, so helpful to have lots of aga cook books to hand too. Thank you Daniel for a wonderful stay in this beaut of a cottage.

    Adele2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bridport is lovely and the cottage is located in a position to walk to the beach across the fields and to local amenities. Once at the cottage you do feel far from the local surrounds although in fact you are right in the cusp of activity.

Our house is within 5 minutes walking distance of Bridport town centre's shops and amenities and 2 miles from the nearest beach. The property is well equipped including a wood burning stove, DAB radios, large fridge freezer, dish washer, new travel cot and garden with hammock and BBQ. Also there are 2 adult bikes available for guest use. My place is good for couples, families, solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets).
The house is very cosy with thick stone walls. The top floor acts as a double bedroom but also features a sofa bed, TV and laptop table so ideal for teenagers to have their own space or for anyone wishing to work there. The bathroom has a walk in shower and very large bath.
Bridport is a lively market down with plenty of independent shops, bars and restaurants. On Saturday and Wednesdays it hosts a great market selling food, vintage, antiques and arts and crafts. West Bay is 2 miles away and we are within easy driving access to the wonderful coastline including Lyme Regis, Beer, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. There is a good bus route along the coastline from Weymouth to Lyme Regis and beyond. Buses also run to Dorchester and Axminster (the closest rail station). The bus station is a 8 minute walk from the property. Bridport has a number of local taxi companies.
  • Great place to stay. Great location for Bridport and west bay. We walked to westbay (broadchurch) in 40 mins. Very clean and cosy. Great nights sleep in the beds . My Children enjoyed the big bath. All that you need is provided bedding, soaps ,dish wash tablets ect. All the facilities are of a very high quality. We will be back.

  • We will really miss No 95! A real home from home for us - characterful with cute little elegant touches (loved the wonky walls and singing taps, loved the fresh flowers in the window and multi-coloured espresso cups); a spacious feel and all mod cons of a house without losing the cosy feel of a cottage. Two TVs and a DVD made indoor days more enjoyable especially for the kids. The garden looked like a lovely place to chill on a summer evening. We visited in chilly February, however, did not even need to use the fire such is the effect of thick walls plus heating! Great location both in terms of house itself and Bridport. I could walk to my temporary workplace in town while rest of the family explored the joys to our East and West on the Jurassic coast. Our hosts were swift to respond, fulsome and clear with information, warm and considerate. Highly recommended and definite thoughts of return in warmer weather. NB We struggled with mobile phone signals however internet connection on ground floor was perfect so also recommend cyber-communications as best way to keep in touch from there.

  • The pictures did not do this property justice. It has just recently been done up, it has a wonderful feel to the house the minute you walk in the door. The beds are so wonderfully comfortable and the hosts have thought of absolutely everything you could need. The garden is perfect, we could not have wanted for anything more in a holiday home, PERFECT. Thank you

    Lucy2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little home that was perfect for me and my little Frenchie Frank for the week while I was working. Garden isn't direct access so worth knowing if you have a pet, less than 10 min walk to town which is lovely. Parking was tricky but as other people have mentioned pulling up with the hazards on for a few minutes wasn't an issue.

    Lucy2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay. It was cosy, warm and beautifully decorated. The log fire was a gift from God. The garden is also beautiful and the shed well equipped for outdoor activities. It is a short walk to Bridport town and a short drive to the beautiful Jurassic coast. I would highly recommend this lovely place!

    Jennie2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a week but would have happily stayed longer. The cottage is beautiful and full of character. The location was perfect for wandering into Bridport, as it's about 10 minutes from the main high street. It is also a great place to explore Dorset from. We have taken away some great memories . Thank you.

    Lee2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with lots to do and see nearby.

    Diana2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • we had a brilliant time in this quirky, characterful property. Lovely cosy living room, with open fire, well equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom with delightful 'singing taps' that amused our daughter no end. Bedrooms were great with plenty of storage and our weekend flew by with great walks in the rolling Dorset countryside, right on the door step and a few minutes walk into the Bridport that has a large market, lots of independent shops, welcoming pubs and a Waitrose, what more could you want - oh yes and a few minutes drive to the Jurassic Coast, perfect.

Florence Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage in the heart of Bridport; more than 200 years old and newly renovated to a high standard. It is ideally located in a quiet street a few short steps from the main street shops, restaurants and pubs and a short 5 minute drive or very pleasant 25-minute countryside amble to West Bay beach and harbour. Dogs are welcome.
The cottage sleeps 2 in an extremely comfortable king size bed (Egyptian cotton bed linen provided). The sunny upstairs bedroom with a characterful original fireplace has ample space for clothes with a wardrobe and large chest of drawers. There is a small television with DVD player, hairdryer and plenty of electric sockets including USB charging points. The bathroom is off the upstairs landing and has a shower over a deep bath. Towels are provided. On the ground floor there is open plan beamed living accommodation with lounge/kitchen/dining area and a conservatory room (with washer/dryer, iron and ironing board) leading into a small walled courtyard garden. The well-equipped fitted kitchen includes a fridge with small freezer compartment, oven, hob and microwave with plenty of saucepans etc. to cook a full meal if you wish. The lounge area has a cast iron gas fire/stove for snuggly winter evenings, along with a smart TV with DVD, internet/Wi-Fi, USB charging points and a comfy space at the dining room table for laptop use. The cottage is central heated throughout. The conservatory and garden can be used for bike storage and a picnic set is available for you to take out with you when you go exploring. Local books and maps are supplied for you to use during your stay. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided so you can have a cuppa upon arrival before venturing out to the supermarket.
Bridport is a bustling market town which has lots going on and an abundance of history to discover. Markets are held every Wednesday and Saturday and there are many festivals and events throughout the year and lots of places to eat, drink and socialise. There is a lively arts scene with a creative vibe - theatre, cinema, music, art displays and exhibitions – and an eclectic collection of vintage/retro/antique/collectable traders. The town centre is a mix of the usual high street stores and independent shops and cafes. West Bay (aka Bridport Harbour and location of TV's Broadchurch) is a short 5 minute drive away (1.5 miles) – or a very pleasant 25-minute stroll – where you’ll find the quaint harbour and stretches of Chesil Beach (“the Gateway to the Jurassic Coast”) along with pubs, restaurants, diners, tea rooms and an array of fish and chip huts and ice-cream vendors. It is a perfect base for exploring - west to Golden Cap, Charmouth and Lyme Regis and east towards Weymouth and inland Dorcester and Thomas Hardy's Wessex. There are stunning landscapes and fabulous views. Walkers - you are in for a treat! Bridport makes for a wonderful town, coast and countryside holiday or short break.
  • Excellent location, central but easily accessible. Very cosy, clean and wonderful bed and bedding definitely recommend

  • An excellent place to stay - the cottage is within spitting distance of some great pubs and places to eat, and is well situated for exploring the Jurassic Coast. The cottage itself is beautiful and clean and filled with helpful touches. Would highly recommend to couples looking for a coastal getaway!

  • We had an excellent time staying in Jenny's cottage!! The place was super clean, cosy, nicely decorated and the bed was really comfy! The kitchen was very well equipped, we cooked breakfast and the small courtyard was super nice with bits of sun to enjoy our coffees. The bathroom was very modern and clean too! The location is excellent, lots of restaurants and coffee places in just a 5 min walk. Jenny was really nice and very good at communication, she left us some biscuits and milk and tea and coffee that was really nice to see when we arrived! We'll surely be back! Thank you!!

    Zoi2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Florence Cottage is a delight, beautifully presented, warm and inviting with such care and attention to detail by Jenny. I recommend it highly as not only a lovely place to stay but somewhere that makes you feel so welcomed and cared for, truly brilliant.

    Geraldine2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. The beauty of being in town is that you can go to lots of places in the car during the day but of an evening the car can stay put in the car park and you have a great choice of places to eat. If you want to stay in you have a great choice of shops in the town, not just supermarkets. Have a great holiday here, we did.

    Anthony2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage. It had everything we needed for our relaxing weekend away. The Saturday street market is worth a visit with lots of stalls to look at. West Bay and Lyme Regis are lovely seaside towns to visit, with lots going on.

    Amy2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a relaxing stay at Jenny's cottage. It is small but perfectly formed, seemingly recently refurbished throughout. The bed was comfy, the kitchen was well equipped, and it was perfectly clean with everything provided. The cottage is super central with shops and cafes on the doorstep, but in a quiet little street with very little noise. It's also right next to a car park which was great - you can basically drive up to the front door! Jenny was very informative and accommodating. Would not hesitate to recommend her place - our puppies also had a great time snuggling on the rug and playing in the little courtyard garden.

    Sarah2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb just off the High Street and yet very quiet. The décor is lovely with personal touches. The cleanliness is excellent and the kitchen has everything you need. Great touch having the wine rack/fridge with bottles of wine to use and replace. We purchased our car parking every night after 6 since we didn't use our car whilst we were there. We walked to West Bay a few times, once along the riverside and another down a path on the opposite side, about 30mins.. Would strongly recommend Jennys place and would definitely return.

    Nikki2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • From Oliver and Becky.... We enjoyed a delightful weekend at Sarah's in late January 2017. Sarah's house is startlingly unique and we felt both at home and inspired by its aesthetic: a combination of meditation retreat and avant-garde artist's residence with an authentic sea-side minimalist feel. Stripped floors, white walls, wooden furniture, leaning canvases, hessian materials, pebbles upon windowpanes - and the pervasive but reassuring drift of incense throughout the house. We wanted to stay there for much longer and enjoy many more conversations with our fascinating host who made delicious and healthy breakfasts for us. In the wake of our short visit we edited a little film to remember it and to say thank you to Sarah: (URL HIDDEN) A visit we would surely love to make again in the future !

  • Beautiful house right in the heart of Bridport on a lovely quiet side street. Decorated with great taste and very comfortable. Wonderful welcome from Sarah who even arranged off street parking for us which was brilliant. Wonderful breakfast with delicious local food. We loved the individuality of the house and the decor and Sarah's taste is impeccable. She gave us a wonderful welcome after an adventurous drive in the pouring rain. Great tips about local restaurants and places of interest.

    Mark2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a warm person and her house is very beautiful. Bridport is a small town but Sarah's house is in the city center. Sarah gives many advises and addresses to eat in good places and the breakfast was perfect with local and good food.

    Cassandre2015-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful stay at Sarah's unique home. It was a tranquil haven. Sarah was such a warm host and couldn't have been more hospitable. She treated us as if we was old friends and went over and above welcoming us to her to her home to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Would definitely like to stay again.

    Rona2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful couple of nights in Sarah's beautiful home. This is a complete treasure of a house and such a restful - almost zen - experience. We loved the décor and all Sarah's personal touches. I've come away with so many ideas for my own home! The breakfast was delicious too and Sarah is the most generous host, to the point of foraging wild garlic for us and sending us on our way with an emergency sandwich. We loved chatting to her over the breakfast table each morning. Her recommendations for places to eat and visit were also perfect. Will definitely go back as soon as we can.

    Hannah2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying at Sarah's place. She gave us such a warm welcome, was accommodating throughout (we loved your breakfast!) and gave us great advice discovering the area. The house is a very unique place (great design taste) and the accommodation was exactly what we were after: clean, comfortable and really very charismatic. It is also a great location in a quite street in the town center. We only stayed a couple of nights but will definitely come back once we are in the area again. Thanks a lot for everything, Sarah. We had a great time and really enjoyed meeting you.

  • Simply the best Airbnb either myself or my friend have stayed in. Two reasons - the host and the property itself. Firstly Sarah could not have been more welcoming and accommodating to us; she is extremely lovely and put on probably the finest breakfast each day we had seen all year! Delicious porridge, a plethora of jams, breads, croissants, yogurt, coffee - some ricotta on one morning too. Secondly the property is well located and almost like being inside a work of art - the natural, raw theme is unique and extremely calming. We had the run of four rooms - bedroom very quiet and peaceful plus the bonus of a chill out/reading/meditation space and an eating space which had a table, kettle and lots of herbal teas. We'll certainly return when we next visit our friend in Bridport.

Charming Grade 2 listed cottage in the centre of Bridport. Beautiful walking area with West Bay 30 minutes along a footpath and easy access to the Jurassic coastal walks. There is a great choice of restaurants and pubs nearby and also several supermarkets. The cottage is warm and cosy for autumn and winter with central heating and an optional open coal fire. There is a seat in the front sunny garden and a small courtyard at the back for warmer seasons. On street parking nearby.
Centrally located with the Tiger Inn and the Bear Kat cafe two minutes away. West Bay, home of Broadchurch is a half hour walk along footpaths and there are numerous galleries, museums, theatres and music venues to entertain you.
St Andrews Road is in the centre of Bridport with attractive properties and gardens. The cottage is a grade two listed building believed to have been used for officers during the Napoleonic wars and retains original features. Bridport has a rich history of ropemaking and there are museums to show the processes. The local coastline is part of the World Heritage Jurassic site and you can go on organised fossil hunts, eco crabbing days or for a buzz on the Lyme Bay Rib.

A Georgian town house on three floors with original features such as flagstones and sash windows. Renovated to a high standard with comfortable beds, modern en suite bathrooms and a beautiful large kitchen leading out to a sunny walled garden.
No 27 is a much loved and beautifully restored Georgian town house with a large sunny walled garden. It is located on a quiet one way street with all the amenities of the town just round the corner. The Jurassic coast, its lovely walks and beaches is just a short drive away.
The much loved market in Bridport happens on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. Also pleasant walks from the front door. One can have a very happy time at No 27 without the use of a car.
  • Juliet has been very kind and helpful since I got in contact with her. Her house is an absolute dream: beautiful, extremely clean and elegant. Bridport is also a very nice town with great coffees (we followed Juliet recommendations and we were very satisfied!). I would organise another trip to Dorset just to have a chance to stay at Juliet's house again!

  • We had a fabulous stay at Juliet's, both the house and garden are beautifully laid out, and the stay was as relaxing and enjoyable as we had hoped. Thank you and hope to visit again soon!

  • Juliet welcomed us into her beautiful home with a cup of tea before showing us around and explaining how to use the excellently equipped kitchen. The garden is simply marvellous; a lawn dotted with fruit trees, old brick and stone walls that soak up the sun, herbs and flowering plants everywhere. The kitchen opens to the garden via a conservatory-dining room that provides the perfect space for enjoying long meals with friends or reading over a cup of tea.

  • Did not realise that this was lady's own house and she was just going a couple of doors away. It felt strange that her personal items were lying around, paperwork, food medicines etc. It felt very strange and phone calls with personal messages being left. Would not do this again.

  • This is Juliet's home - beautifully decorated and cared for, wonderfully comfortable and well-equipped. The beds were divine and the garden a delight. It is like a home away from home which was just what my sister and I were after when we stayed for two peaceful nights. The shops are just down the road and Juliet was very helpful in giving us recommendations for restaurants etc. There is an easy walk over the fields to West Bay. I would definitely stay there again for a relaxing get-away. Thank you Juliet

  • This house is absolutely lovely, and the location is perfect. Juliette is the ideal host, I recommend this place whole heartedly, it's incredible.

  • We had a fantastic long weekend staying at Juliet's house. We were welcomed upon arrival and given a walk through of the house and a description of the local area. The property is very spacious, the rooms large all with en suite bathrooms. Given we were travelling for a wedding and would be bringing the wedding cake the house and it's large kitchen suited us perfectly. The local area is beautiful and we enjoyed running to & along the coast line every day. There are also some fantastic seafood restaurants in the local area.

  • We loved Juliet's house from the moment we pulled up outside. Juliet met us and showed us our parking space - just round the corner. The house is really gorgeous. It feels like a house that is really loved and it took no time at all to settle in. The kitchen is really well equipped and opens out onto the garden. The conservatory/dining room is spacious and so comfortable - wonderful place to eat breakfast (some good bakeries just round the corner). The garden is enviable - I really want it! There's a paved patio area right outside the kitchen with table and chairs - very sheltered with sun all day. Steps lead up to a long lawned area with old fruit trees and more tables and chairs tucked away. We had great weather and spent a lot of time outside in the garden. Breakfast, lunch, lazing, reading, glass of wine... The bedrooms are beautifully decorated - full of lovely things but not at all cluttered. Spacious and peaceful with very comfortable beds. The only thing that woke me was a very loud dawn chorus one morning. We had a wonderful weekend. Bridport is a great little town with lots of independent shops and cafes and a proper Saturday market. We're planning to return before too long! Thank you Juliet!

West Mead Lodge is a quirky old dwelling, filled with art and music. Ten minutes walk from centre of lovely Bridport, twenty minutes to the wedding village of Symondsbury and next to the bus stop for the famous X53 Jurassic Coaster. On a main road yet with great walks from our big red gates. Big, safe garden, cosy nooks and crannies. Ukeleles, piano and harmonium to play. Off road parking. Lots of space.
by Jurassic Coast in River Cottage Land. Internet, parking, garden, musical instruments, friendly folk
We are by Symondsbury Village and on the edge of Bridport so ideally place for town, countryside and the beach. Allington Hill is five minutes behind our house and in front of our house are paths that eventually lead to West Bay, location of Broadchurch TV series. We are on quite a busy road but you can still hear the sheep and of course lots of birds.
  • Ros and Chris were great hosts and we really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for a wedding we were attending in Symondsbury and then also for our trip to the beach the next day. The house and gardens were beautiful and the bedroom was really comfortable and spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. We Would highly recommend staying there.

  • beautiful house, fantastic hosts!

    lucio2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The address advertised is incorrect and unless you're able to access emails after initial acceptance, which is sometimes impossible for a number of reasons, you'll end up at the wrong house. The host wasn't in either ( a party was more important apparently) and the important message about the incorrect address didn't appear at the start of an SMS text alert for an email, so out of desperation and annoyance we made the four trip back home at night.

  • The room had everything we needed and was in an interesting building. Ros and Chris were great hosts - flexible with check-in times and gave us lots of good tips for the area. Would recommend :)

  • Great house, lovely hosts - made us feel genuinely at home immediately. And the ideal location for access to this fascinating town. Comfortable bed and friendly dog, what else is there?

  • Ros and Chris were great hosts. Lovely room and clean bathroom, great breakfast with lots of nice touches, really thoughtful. We walked back from a pub in town, had our own keys and it was easy to stay in this old beautiful house. It had lovely prints and vintage furniture. Something to see around every corner. We’d definitely stay again!
