“ C-ville "Best-Of" since 1996! "Hall Of Fame 2018" Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner you can't go wrong!! Charlottesville is well known for the home of the Best Bagel Ever!! If you are not in the mood for a bagel then try their salad and/or soups. Do not be intimidated by the lines as they move very quickly. A sure palate pleaser and the price is right!!! ”

“Small. Does not take reservations BUT the back bar is best kept secret if you are looking for a cocktail and or the best tiramisu. Go hang out here while you wait for your table or after dinner. Bar does close early though so watch that. ”

“Every year we have Friday's After Five which is free and open to the public to enjoy live music, food trucks, and drinks from 5:30-8:30 from April to September! It's my favorite thing to do in C'ville!!”

American Restaurant

“If you’ve got kids who are super into American history (or if you are) and if you like Parker House rolls and people in Betty Ross caps, then you will love this place. Otherwise, not so much. But it’s historic, and it’s an experience, and you should do it once. It’s fun and it’s part of the whole Thomas-Jefferson-worship thing we’ve got going on in this town. You’ll be served fried chicken and mashed potatoes and other southern favorites family-style by servers in period costume. The structure itself is pretty and historic, and the little stores are cute. Actually, I started writing this description with lots of snark, but now I kind of want to go there today with my kids. It’s that kind of place.”

“This location is on the Downtown Mall. People watch while enjoying a cup of Joe and pastry. Then do not leave the mall until you have explored all of the shops and restaurant menus. Outdoor pedestrian mall is a must. ”

Café

“OKAY, some of my friends roll their eyes when I bring up La Taza, but I can't get enough of their breakfast tacos and breakfast potatoes. If you're here on the weekend and are willing to wait a little while (because they are usually busy), it's worth the wait. If you're lucky and you are here during the week, you'll have no problem getting a table or placing a take-out order! If you want to enjoy a nice cold drink around a fire conversing with locals, check our the Tikki Bar at La Taza. It's an outside bar with a tropical theme and relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Belmont.”

Gourmet Shop
“Nina makes delicious food to take away, and they seek a deep variety of local foods, including Polyface Farm chickens, and $16 ice-cream, if you recently won the lottery! Great stop to good the lily if you’re coming from DC or RIC when you exit I64 at exit 107. Thursday evenings they hold a farm market with great dinner deals.”

“Feast! is an amazing market to go to if you want specialty, gourmet cheese, wines, crackers, select veggies, pastas, etc. Their cheesemongers are very knowledgeable and will help you find the perfect crackers/jams/wines with which to pair your cheese choices. They also offer delicious take away sandwiches and salads. You can also order from their catering menu (think cheese boards, pumpkin ham biscuits, fruit arrays) if you're wanting something for your group to snack on.”

Grocery or Supermarket
$$
“Grocery store! When I am cooking and have forgotten an ingredient or I run out of milk late at night I can be at this grocery in 1 minute. If you go late or early there is always parking in front of the grocery store. They have sandwiches but they are not that great but their baguette is a must... basket near register. ”
