  • Perfect location for exploring Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire. Carol is a friendly helpful host and gave a great dinner recommendation in Whitwell, The Boot and Shoe, great food and only a short walk away. Even closer is a little Chinese takeaway at the end of the street if you've had a long day walking! Also there's a well equipped kitchen for rustling up a dinner or picnic too!

    Debora2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Carol's house for 3 nights, 3 adults, one child and one dog. From the moment we arrived it felt very much like a home, and we were so happy to come back to it everyday. Everything is as mentioned in the description, linen and towels are provided, Carol even left some food for us on arrival. The house really is lovely, even better "for real" than on the pictures! Communication was easy and friendly, as were check-in and check-out. Amenities are fab (fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine...we used them all!), the en-suite upstairs is a nice extra to have, wifi works very well everywhere in the house. We definitely recommend the property and the host; we will surely call on Carol again if we have visiting friends looking for temporary accommodation.

    Reynald2016-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is as described and we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was. We were using the house for a working break and really appreciated it's comfort. Great wifi, spotlessly clean & very comfortable bed. We were met by a neighbour as Carol was away on work, but we were shown around and made to feel very welcome. Great base for Nottingham, Worksop, Sheffield, Mansfield, Sherwood Forest etc., Our dog Buddy enjoyed his stay too, dog-friendly, although as he's an old boy, he found the stairs hard going! Can thoroughly recommend.

  • We felt very welcomed, and the 5 of us all though the house was wonderful. The house had a very nice feel to it, with pleasant facilities. The host was absolutely lovely, leaving some food for our arrival as we arrived quite late. All in all, a very nice stay.

  • Carol's place was perfect for us. Lovely location in whitwell. The house was lovely and clean, warm and spacious and had everything there that we needed. Plenty of space for kids. Carol was very welcoming and was available throughout our stay for any questions or queries. Ideal location to access Sheffield also. Will definitely stay again

    Tom2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was a great host. We booked her place for someone who works with us as they where on a course at the school of artisan food. They couldn't have been happier with both the house and how helpful Carol was. The booking process and organization beforehand was all great also.

    Andy2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant place to stay. Easy access to Sheffield. Great kitchen and bathroom.

    James2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A nice house in a pretty village. Happy resonance between the address and a Mancunian soap opera! Carol was on holiday but her lovely neighbours made me feel incredibly welcome. The house is well appointed with a great bathroom. Very convenient for School of Artisan Food.

Whitwell is a quiet village in North East Derbyshire and has a Norman church and two wells which are dressed according to an ancient Derbyshire custom every summer during July. As we are situated on the border of North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire there are countless ways to get around all three counties. The village is well served by buses and trains, Whitwell woods and The Crags at Creswell provide good walking opportunities on the doorstep. The beautiful Peak District is within an easy 40 minute drive, as well as the cities of Sheffield and Nottingham.

A huge double room in a beautiful cottage, with all the facilities you'll need. Private bedroom with shared bathroom, large living room, Sky TV, fibre optic broadband, and fully equipped kitchen. Washing facilities are all included, along with tea, coffee and basic breakfast supplies. A home away from home!
The cottage has been decorated to a high standard, and is very cozy and homely. Each bedroom has a double bed, desk and wardrobe. The house is always nice and warm, the living room has a huge sofa, TV with Sky Sports and Cinema package, surround sound system, and fibre optic broadband. There is no dining room however there is a table available to eat at. There is a washing machine and tumble drier, full kitchen facilities, downstairs toilet and full bathroom with bath/shower upstairs. There is a yard to the back of the house and small garden at the front. Parking is on the road outside of the house, however there is always space to park. There is a large green behind the houses (as you can see in pictures), which is one row of houses behind the house. There are three bedrooms in the house- one for me, and two guest bedrooms. This means that if both guest bedrooms are full, there will be between 3 and 5 people staying in the house at any one time. I provide tea, coffee, milk and sugar which are there for you to use any time. There will also be bread and cereal available for guests- I won't be cooking breakfast but it's there for you to help yourself. Towels, bedding, and some basic toiletries are available. Washing detergent is included, and you can use the washer and drier whenever you want.
This house is in a pretty quiet area, and most of the houses nearby are owned by families. There are a lot of young children nearby. The house is not within walking distance to big supermarkets, although there are small shops nearby. Public transport is limited, so having your own car is a big bonus.
  • Thank you Chloe for sharing your space. Indeed a home away from home - a lovely, peaceful & comfortable place. Room is big, laptop friendly (which we so needed) and clean. Bathroom lovely and clean also. Even though there were other guests we never felt uncomfortable as it was spacious and did not feel cramped. Kitchen well equipped. I will definitely use this place again. Chloe is such a great host, easy to talk to and very helpful. Thank you once again.

  • Good size room which was both clean and bright. Chloe is a great host and would happily recommend and stay here again.

    Terry2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Chloe is a fantastic host - great company, flexible and helpful. The room I stayed in was spacious and the facilities were good. Chloe made me feel very much at home. I was in the area for a course at the school of artisan food, and found that public transport is limited and taxis expensive, but it is a lovely walk from Creswell to the school, 1 hr 10 mins-1.5 hours depending on whether you get distracted by Cresswell Crags.

    Tali2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Chloe's place was perfect! Walking distance to coop, 10min drive to Tesco and Aldi, pub across the street, close to Sherwood forest and Creswell Craggs. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and conversations with Chloe. I felt right at home, I would definitely come stay again.

    jessica2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chloe's place is great. Clean and well sized accommodation. Parking was easy and accessible. Small grocery right down the street and larger grocery less than 10min drive. Excellent location to Creswell Crags, Sherwood Forest and Nottingham. Pub across the street for good beer and live music on Saturday night. I felt right at home, it was great to just kick back and relax. Chloe herself was friendly, down to earth and easy to talk with. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Would definitely come stay again

  • We had a lovely time at Chloe's cottage. Clean, comfortable and quiet, it provided a homely base for our travels in Derbyshire. Chloe provided comprehensive instructions for our arrival and all went smoothly. Thanks Chloe

  • We spent two nights here whilst I was recovering from surgery at the nearby Barlborough Treatment Centre. The parking space was hard to find as the numbering is not in sequence, but this was cleared up quickly by a phone call to the host. The apartment itself was quiet, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped except for a coffee machine (fortunately I had brought my own). Both beds had excellent mattresses, the one in the smaller double bedroom being a little softer. Communication with the host was excellent. There is a Tesco and Aldi supermarket within easy walking distance. All in all, a very satisfactory stay and we would return.

They are such a lovely accomodating couple who helped get us sorted last minute depsite being out of town and needing to call on neighbours to help us. We're so grateful! House is warm, shower was lovely, bed is very comfortable and though gate didnt lock the yard space was perfect for our dog. Recommend anyone heading through the town to stop over. The delights of the country surround you. You may hear the woodpeckers, cuckoos and owls. It is an ideal location for walking, cycling, pay as you go golf course is next door, riding, shopping and much much more on the doorstep. Ideal for visiting Clumber Park, Rufford Park, Sherwood Forest, Chatsworth House, Bolsover Castle, Haddon Halls, Doddington Hall, Lincoln Castle which are just a few.
Clumber Park is over 3,800 acres of woods, open heath and rolling farmland. It contains the longest double avenue of lime trees in Europe. There are plenty of paths to walk, cycle, ride on. The gateway to the Dukeries starts here. Local shops and supermarkets are about 2-3 miles away.
  • Beautiful home, with fabulous views. Host on hand if we required anything. Nice touches - including fridge full of complementary breakfast goodies. Ideally situated for us, as we went cycling around Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest. Had the feeling of being very rural - but close enough to amenities and good restaurants.

    Diane2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rural area with plenty of outdoor activities nearby (even a park just down the road). The space is very clean and bright with beautiful views of the horses in the fields. Room was clean and had every possible amenity one could need. Alison was very accomodating and left fresh eggs and vegetables from the property along with a well stocked refrigerator with more than the basics (milk, butter, juices, jams). Full kitchen. Was way more than I expected. The whole stay was absolutely lovely and I hope to come back.

  • What a treat! Beautiful setting which I didn't appreciate until the morning due to arriving late (Alison was very helpful and communicative making light of my plan changes) Very well appointed rooms all to high standard with complimentary wifi and breakfast. Will definitely be paying another visit.

  • Perfect place to stay whether you are looking to get away for a couple of days, or looking for a place to stay long term. I stayed for 6 weeks and could not have been more comfortable. The house has everything you need; a fully equipped modern kitchen, super comfortable bed and a great bathroom, private lounge, dining area and patio. The view you wake up to is beautiful and everything is super clean and tidy. I would love to stay there again! Thanks Alison&Nick

  • Lovely newly refurbished accommodation in a rural setting. Alison recommended a good place to eat and walks in the surrounding area. Next door to Clumber Park which is a great place to visit (National Trust). Very much enjoyed the bacon, sausage and eggs that Alison provided for breakfast. Can highly recommend. Thank you :-)

  • This is a lovely location and beautiful place to stay on the edge of the national trust clumber park ( nice 14k run around the lake from the house) peaceful views of the horses and quiet garden from the spacious and truly 4 star annexe. Great TV with a good selection of blue ray films and a very well equipped kitchen means you can cater for yourself if you choose. Friendly welcome and tasty and generous complimentary breakfast. Please note that the cost shown is on room by room basis and not for both rooms together. My wife Anne and I have 2 lovely large airy double bedrooms with charm and character and most importantly - very comfy beds. The hall is within easy reach of the Dukeries, Clumber Park, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Doncaster and only 5 minutes from the M1. Chatsworth, Bakewell, the Peak District, Lincoln and York can all be easily reached within an hour of our home.
The accommodation is priced on a per room basis but sometimes this is not clear on the airbnb software. If you are in any doubt as to the total cost please let us know and we will sort this out for you We also have 3 lovely dogs who are all rescues (a labrador cross, a cocker spaniel and a border collie) who share our home - or do we share theirs! - If you are allergic or averse to dogs, even sloppy ones like ours you need to consider this. There are 2 large double rooms which can easily accommodate 4 people The beds have top quality Hungarian goose down duvets or hypoallergenic duvets. Provided is a breakfast of toast, juice, yoghurt, coffee / tea as requested but you have full access to the kitchen if you want to whip up a special treat yourself. Anston Hall is set in its own private grounds, it is quiet and secluded but close to local amenities and only a few minutes away from the M1, M18 and the A1 too. On site parking is included within the price of your stay.
We live in a large part of a converted country hall on a private estate. The part of the hall that we live in dates from 1840 and has large beautifully proportioned rooms, high ceilings, sash windows and a modern bathroom which has been done in a Victorian style. The family who lived here in the 1800s won the contract to provide the stone for the rebuild of the Houses of Parliament after it had burned down. The part of the hall you will be accommodated in was built at the same time as the rebuild in London. During our renovation of the property we found a hidden staircase and things like old cigarette packets and sheet music hidden under floor boards. This is a lovely part of the country with lots of green space for walking. There is a large park just across the road which is ideal for a leg stretch after your journey or walking your dogs if you bring them with you.
  • It was a great trip! Nick's quite nice!

    Kevin2015-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Anne were wonderful hosts and made us feel extremely welcome. We were greeted with a cup of tea and were told to treat their house as our own! The property is absolutely stunning and the rooms were clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable - especially the beds. We had a very pleasant stay at Anston Hall and would definitely recommend it to anyone needing a place to stay in that area.

    Una2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • My mother, daughter and I stayed at Nick and Anne's for one night prior to a 21st birthday treat for my daughter. Nick was exceptionally proficient at keeping up communication with me prior to the visit (despite being in the middle of a wedding shoot that day!) and filled me in with details, such as where we could eat locally and later spent time giving me directions to our onward destination. We were made to feel incredibly welcome by our hosts and their three fabulous dogs. We could have sneaked at least one of them away in our luggage, they are so adorable! Nick and Anne's tastefully refurbished home is a feast of visual interest, especially if you love art, photography, architecture and fine views! We enjoyed hearing about the renovations and the discoveries made as the work was carried out. It is clean, well-kept and though 'grand' in looks, it manages to maintain that all-important comforting feel of being a warm and friendly home, which can often be a hard balance to achieve. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Breakfast was perfect - any combination choice of toast, cereals, yoghurts and fresh strawbs, blueberries and raspberries in the setting of a cosy, aga-warmed kitchen. We would be happy to return and would have no hesitation in recommending Nick and Anne's home to future Airbnb guests, as their attention to our needs and requests was faultless. Thank you!

  • We had a perfect stay over the Easter long weekend. Two adults, two children (8+12) with car. Nick is a friendly and relaxed host, the house is truly welcoming, as are the dogs Ted and Rupert, who played enthusiastically with the children and vice-versa. Two adjacent guest rooms with a bathroom across the hall; both big and light and airy and lots of comfy chairs. Good always-open convenience store two minutes' walk away; fish and chip shop ten minutes away. Terrific location for heading out to the Peak District and Chatsworth to the west, York to the north, Lincoln and the coast to the east. And easy access from the M1. The only problem we had in the whole weekend was persuading the children to leave on Monday morning; they had fallen in love with the place, as had we(URL HIDDEN)

  • Nick was a lovely and attentive host. His two canine companions Rupert and Ted were constant entertainment and a delight to spend time with. We were very close to the local butterfly house which is a nice attraction and felt very welcome to treat Nicks home as our own. Very recommended if you need somewhere to stop in this area.

  • A very friendly welcome from Nick & Anne + dogs. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished. The Hall was very conveniently placed for us to visit friends. Eating Aga made toast in the kitchen for breakfast, while chatting to Nick and Anne, made for a very nice end to our visit. Thank you very much!

  • Elaine, Andy and their children made me very welcome and I had a great time. This was my first time using Airbnb and they made my visit seem more like I was visiting friends. The house is lovely, in a really nice area. The room is large and bright and the house is very clean and tidy. Comfortably 5 stars all the way, they couldn't have done any more or been more welcoming, very friendly and genuine people.

  • Both Andy and Elaine went out of their way to welcome me and make me feel comfortable in their home. They were friendly and warm hosts. I found it interesting and easy to talk with them. The room was superb and the bed extremely comfortable. I had a great night''s sleep and breakfast of my choice (porridge) to set me up for the day.

  • We were very pleased with the ease with which we were able to stay in such a comfy house with welcoming hosts. It was a late arrival and a quick departure but all went like clockwork. Couldn't have been better.

    Katherine2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Once again Elaine and Andy were great hosts. Would highly recommend.

  • A lovely family:) Eventhough we came on Halloween night, and it was very busy for them with the mischiveous kids :) I am very happy for their host. Nice and calm area, however we only spent one night so we couldn't discover more in the town. We went for a trip in Peak District and Elaine and his husband was more than willing to help us find the best routes, and thank you for it! The recommended places was just amazing! Absolutely satisfied with the host, happy to come back again if we are traveling in the area. Thank you!

A spacious double ground floor room as part of a detached family home. We love to meet new people and will try to make your stay enjoyable. Tea and coffee provided in your room.
We are located in the historical town of Bolsover. We live in a detached house and are surrounded by trees and have a very green outlook. There are stunning views from our street looking out over to the Peak District. We are a short walk from Bolsover Castle which holds many exciting events all year round. The town of Bolsover is a very short walk and has shops and pubs, cafes and an Italian restaurant. Chesterfield, our local market town has cobbled streets and an unusual church with a distinctive crooked spire. It is a short drive or bus ride away. We are about 15 minutes away from Hardwick Hall and Cresswell Crags. We are 35 minutes away from Chatsworth House and the peak district. There is so much to do in the peak district with beautiful country walks and bike rides, as well as quaint villages to look around. In the other direction we are 20 minutes away Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park. Both have miles of walking and cycling trails and are both beautiful in different ways. It is possible to cycle there, mostly on trails with just some road. We are conveniently located for the motorway, a few minutes drive away from Junction 29a on the M1. We love meeting new people and we are very used to sharing our space. We have been a workaway host for the last 2 years.

Within driving distance to the Peak District National Park (the 2nd most visited National Park in the world). We live in a little village called Bolsover - at the top of a hill - with outstanding views :-) .....and Bolsover Castle is just a walk down our road. Family friendly home with plenty space for your children to play! Big playroom and large garden! Near shops, restaurants & pubs. Trains, coaches and buses close by.
This is our main house with a lot of space! 1 king size bed, a wooden sturdy castle bunk bed with 2 single mattresses, 1 double bed, 1 double sofa bed, extra mattress, travel cot available. Also bonus of extra playroom in basement and large garden!
Very safe area. Lots of old historic buildings/ around. If you do a bit of research of things to do in the Peak District nearby, there is lots - ranging from canoeing down rivers to caving, cycling the peak trail and hiking. There is also a large shopping mall, Meadow Hall about 30 minutes drive away in Sheffield. Restaurants close by. You are close enough to town to have everything you need, but yet only about 30 minutes drive to be in the Peak District.
  • Fiona is a wonderful host, very easy going, great communication, thank you;)

  • Overview A fantastic value for money house. Perfect for families. Great parks nearby, we went to Rother Valley which was amazing. We also went to Three Horseshoes in Clay Cross which was delicious. Communication was fantastic. Felt very at ease at this house. Positives An outstanding view Plenty for kids to do Great central base Negatives Nothing much but maybe decor little dated and play room is in cellar so felt bit musty but like I say fantastic value for money. Thank you so much for your hospitality!!

  • The house is in a lovely quiet but central location in bolsover, a few pubs and supermarket really close by and very close to the castle. The house itself is charming, plenty of room for 3 couples Including beautiful dining and living room. Thoroughly recommended for a quiet retreat with friends/ family. Danni's father checked us in and was happy to give his number in case of any issues, they made a great, attentive but unobtrusive hosting team.

  • Rachael was there to greet me. She gave me a cup of tea and offered me a choice of rooms. As I was the only person staying, I had use of a private bathroom, which was immaculately clean and welcoming. The room was also immaculate. It was very quiet even though the room faced the road (very quiet road). Rachael left me breakfast which was perfectly adequate. I was able to park my car right outside the house on the road. It was a simple overnight stay to break a long journey, but this was my first Airb&b, and it worked out very well. The next one has a lot to live up to in terms of cleanliness, comfort and convenience. Thanks Rachael.

    Nicholas2016-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was perfectly clean and tidy and felt like home away from home. There was a lovely variety of breakfasts to choose from.

    Dave2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very enjoyable stay with Rachael, she was a fantastic host! She was extremely helpful, and was more than willing to chat & give us pointers on where to go & what to see. At the same time she never intruded on our space or made us feel unwelcome in anyway. The room was clean & welcoming, as was the rest of the house. We will certainly look to stay with Rachael again next time we're in the area. Highly recommended.

    David2016-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is such a lovely host, kind and welcoming. She was very helpful with directions around Warsop and Nottingham and had good communication through Airbnb. Her home is very clean and cosy. Breakfast was laid out perfectly for us, with an assortment of things to choose from. Overall had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend! Thank you Rachel!

  • Rachael was very accommodating for us. We gave an ETA but were much later due to road construction but she waited there to greet us and help us settle in. Rachael' s place was very clean and comfortable. She had a nice selection of things for breakfast. Great place to stay.

  • Neil is a nice fella, down to earth... Room was spacious and tidy.

    Stephan2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Neil is a kind and excellent host. He collected me from the nearest tram stop and drove me to his house, then drove me again to the tram the following morning and picked me up again that evening (past 11pm) for all of which I was very grateful. He's good company too, we chatted easily and was made to feel at home. The house sits on the outskirts of Sheffield in a quiet suburb and is well-kept. The single room itself was comfortable and all I needed on my trip to Sheffield. Ideally you need your own transport/sat nav to get there and back. I was travelling by public transport which meant a 30-minute tram ride from the centre of Sheffield and then if you were walking it would take approx. another 25 minute walk. However Neil made this very easy by collecting/picking me up at the tram stop, thus was well taken care of - Neil is a really nice bloke. If you're looking for a quiet base while you're in the Sheffield/ Derbyshire area Neil's place is ideal.

  • Catherine was very friendly and helped me through the booking process, as this was my first time on airbnb. Unfortunately due to time restrictions when we arrived, she was unable to go through the house and how things worked but she was responsive to my queries during the stay. The house itself appeared to be undergoing a refurbishment but we were disappointed to find that there was no fridge in the kitchen, only a freezer (luckily we had a cool bag and kept rotating the ice blocks). There was no shower in the bathroom, but the bath is very long (my 6ft 4 boyfriend was able to fit in it no problem!). We were disappointed that the main bedroom was not a double bed but 2 singles pushed together (with 2 very separate types of mattresses). Also the living room furniture only consisted of a folding table and chairs and 2 wicker chairs, which could be problematic for anyone with a sore back. The location of the property was fantastic, as it is just a short drive from the centre and close to Bolsover Castle, as well as other nearby local attractions.

    Vicki2015-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine was very nice and extremely accommodating. The place itself is part way through being renovated and is very basic.

    Tim2015-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine was very friendly, helpful and co-operative during the organizing and booking process. She was waiting at the apartment for me when I arrived (on a freezing cold night) even though I was a bit later than arranged. She explained everything I needed to know about the apartment, and provided me with lots of tips and information about things to see and do in the local area. The apartment itself appears to be in the process of refurbishment (and will undoubtedly be very nice when it is finished), but at the moment it is somewhat 'rustic' and relatively basic. Nevertheless, the heating was excellent (as was the hot bath each night) and was much appreciated during a week where the temperature hardly got above zero! It was also nice to have the whole place to myself. Overall, a comfortable place for a week near the beautiful Peak District, at a very affordable rate.

M1 motorway Jctn 30 only 4 miles away. 30 minutes from the glorious Peak District Close to Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham & Worksop Restaurant next door with plenty of pubs & take-aways in walking distance Light self-serve breakfast available if required Perfectly located for attending functions at Mosborough Hall Hotel
My home is a Grade II listed, beautiful chocolate box cottage believed to date back to the 17th Century. It is part of a converted farm that once served the Manor House next door (now a hotel & restaurant). Dual aspect windows and a high a-frame ceiling make the room light and airy. The room has a television with Freeview and built in DVD player, with a small selection of DVDs available. WiFi is available throughout the house. The double bed is really comfortable (I tried it to check ) and there is a chest of drawers available for your clothes. The shared bathroom has a large quadrant shower, corner sink and toilet. Towels and bed linen are provided. The cottage is just 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Moss Valley, providing plenty of mid-length walking. There are several pubs within walking distance and a hotel and restaurant right next door. A further single room, more suited to a child can be available on request at an additional cost.
On the southern edge of the city, half a mile from the Derbyshire border. Just 2 minutes walk from the beautiful Moss Valley, next door to Mosborough Hall Hotel.
  • Very comfortable room in a lovely cottage. Louise is a great host. Highly recommended.

  • Louise was a very welcoming and lovely host. Her home was delightful and I had a perfect stay there (the bed was amazingly comfortable & I had the best nights sleep, ever!)) It was a quiet and peaceful little gem of a house. I was taking a course at the School of Artisan Food which was only a 20 minute drive away. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Louise's and would highly recommend her accommodation, just perfect!

  • A beautiful room in an immaculate house. Comfy bed, lovely linen, good quality cereal for breakfast. Meals available in hotel over the road and basic amenities available 10 mins walk away. Perfect place to stay for our trip to a wedding in Sheffield.

    Helen2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Louise was a lovely host. The Chocolate Box is a truly lovely place to stay - and the welcome on arrival is like visiting friends. Louise went above and beyond: giving us a lift to the restaurant, rescuing my chipped nail with polish and lending me an evening bag when mine broke just as going out the door! The Chocolate Box bedroom is charming, very comfortable bed and the bathroom superb with lovely big shower. Plenty of towels provided. Just a shame we weren't there for longer. Highly recommend.

  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Louise's home. From the moment we turned the corner into such a magical hidden gem of a place, to Louise's warm welcome and very generous hospitality, to the super comfortable bed. Highly, highly recommended!! Thank you!

    Kate2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my stay with Louise in her lovely cottage. I stayed for 2 nights and had my own double bed in which I slept soundly. You're onto a winner if you're fortunate to sample Louise's cooking. Those mince pies were yuuummy!

    Leo2016-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • An overall lovely experience. I recommend this place and Louise is a good host.

    Jayne2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • My stay couldn't have been better. Comfortable bed sumptuous duvet. To a man these are the most important things. Things a man usually does not worry about, the host, the location, well these couldn't have been better. Thanks for putting up with my talking Louise, you are so easy to talk to and such a great host. Thank you.

This light and bright double bedroom has been newly decorated with everything you could want from a great hotel but with the sense of home from home. It has its own fridge, Wi-Fi, heater and ceiling fan to keep you comfortable no matter what the weather. Tea/coffee making facilities. Freeview TV with built in DVD player. Please note this is one of three guests rooms therefore there will be other guests staying.
This is a newly decorated double bedroom with double bed, 2 bedside tables with touch lamps. It has a built in wardrobe and two chests of drawers. There is a fridge inside the wardrobe. It has freeview TV with built in DVD player. Its own wifi booster so has a stronger signal. The room has tea/coffee making facilities. Basic toiletries are provided as well as towels. There is an information book which has lots of suggestions of things to do and places to visit. There are plenty of take aways or places to eat to suit all budgets. Alternatively you can use our large kitchen dinner to cook for yourself; here you will find everything you could want to cook. You can eat in the relaxed atmosphere of the kitchen or fuori (as we know it al fresco) if the weather is nice in our garden or be more formal and eat in the dining room. The lounge has Sky TV (sorry not movies or sport) and there is a blue ray DVD player with surround sound. There is also a wii console so you can connect to the internet and Netflix if you have an account, or play wii games. The garden has a dining table and chairs on the patio but under the canopy of the pergola there is a seating area with settee and arm chairs, which is delightful in the heat and very pretty and romantic with all the candles and fire bits in winter.
This is a quite village on the edge of South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. It nestles in the triangle between the M1, M18 and A1 making it a perfect place to visit these counties. There are many pleasant walks on the doorstep and many places to visit. We are in the country in a small pleasant village. However within a short drive from Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest. Plus you have Meadowhall a 15 minute drive as well as Sheffield, Doncaster and Chesterfield 30 minutes’ drive. We are ideally situated 3 miles from the M1 and M18 making the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire within easy reach. There are lovely walks on the doorstep. Doncaster Sheffield Airport (Robin Hood Airport) is a 30 minute drive away. At the airport there is the Vulcan Experience a museum dedicated to the only flying Vulcan bomber.
  • Really clean and tidy place. Loads of great facilities. Really nice people. Will be staying again
