“Hosting a variety of musical acts from classical to rock, this cutting-edge nonprofit venue is one of the sickest spots to catch a show in Brooklyn (if not all of NYC). Celebrating emerging artists, it's your ticket to someday saying "I saw them before they were famous."”

Art Gallery
“This DIY venue—an artist’s loft that hosts intimate performances in its living room—is an incubator of the post-dance movement, featuring work from Mariana Valencia, Lorene Bouboushian, and Tess Dworman. It’s also home to some very stage-savvy cats. Refrain from snapping pictures—this experience is about being in the moment and unmediated observation. Make sure you tip generously and buy a drink or two on-site to support the performers. Artists are paid no commission and simply share the donation box at the end of the night.”

“We're a little obsessed with this tiny corner spot for its excellent Korean fried chicken and its made-to-order rice balls (we love the spicy salmon, chicken and bulgogi ones especially—and be sure to get an extra cup of the delicious housemade herb sauce). Grab a seat at the narrow counter, or take your haul to go. The three-rice-balls-for-$10 deal is excellent, and more than a meal's worth of food.”
