Wroxeter Holiday Rentals

Just booked in Wroxeter

The Hayloft is a brand new barn conversion that combines modern architecture and a picturesque location to provide the perfect place to get away from it all and explore beautiful Shropshire. The Hayloft provides luxury accommodation for families, friends or people working away. Ideally located close to Historic Shrewsbury, World Heritage Site Ironbridge, Wroxeter Roman Ruins, Attingham Park National Trust Property & The South Shropshire Hills.
Brand new open plan barn conversion with open plan living area, mezzanine and stunning picture windows overlooking the Shropshire country side.
The village of Wroxeter is built on the ancient Roman city of Euriconium and an English Heritage visitor centre is at the opposite end of the village to The Hayloft. Opposite is the Wroxeter vineyard which is open to the public. Within 2 miles is Attingham Park one of the National Trust's most popular stately homes. Within 5 miles is the historic town of Shrewsbury and the World Heritage Site at Ironbridge. The Hayloft is also located on the Severn Way walking route and National Cycle Route 45
  • Wow, this is an amazing place to stay. Really nicely fitted out and equipped. There are views over fields and onto the Shropshire hills from the patio, and great views from inside the barn out onto the surrounding countryside. The living space is really bright and airy. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, with lovely en suites to two of the bedrooms, and bathroom to the third. Our group was visiting for a conference at the Telford International Centre, and it was a quick and easy journey from the Hayloft. The conference kept us busy so we didn't get to spend so long at the barn as it would have been nice to do so, and to explore the area a bit more. The Wrekin (big hill) is a few mins way by car. In the past I've walked it, and it provides spectacular views over the surrounding countryside and over to the Welsh mountains, and to the power station cooling towers down in the Ironbridge gorge. We were welcomed at the barn with home made tiffin cake, made by John's daughter, and very good it was too!! Thank you for opening this place place up to us all. A very enjoyable stay.

  • What a great place. Super slick. We are renovating our place at the moment and took many ideas from our stay. We travelled as three families and the place took us easily. We were all really impressed and would love to stay there again

  • It's a really spacious, converted loft, modern furniture, great colour. The drawing room with the kitchen was bright with stunning views onto the fields, many sheep. You definitly need a car even for shopping or go to a pub, but in the evenings there is peace and quiet all over. Especially Jo greeted us very heartily and provided us with milk and cakes and nice lilies. It is really a nice place for a big family.

    The Hayloft at Wroxeter
    16 reviews
The Summer House and Octagonal Tower built in around 1607 by Sir Francis Newport was originally used as a banqueting house for entertaining his guests to dinner. Unfortunately the main house was destroyed by a fire and never rebuilt and therefore The Summer House is the only remaining structure from that time. Today, this Grade II listed tower forms an airy retreat, set in the rolling Shropshire countryside. It offers excellent views to the East, and views of the Shropshire Hills to the South and the West. The building, now part of the Raby Estate, has been sympathetically modernised to accommodate guests. This provides a very private and unique getaway. The property is tucked away in the hamlet of Eyton-on-Severn, near the ancient Roman settlement at Wroxeter and is surrounded by stunning countryside. Immediately to the East rises the Wrexin, a formidable hill said to be the result of a giant depositing a spade of earth he had intended to use to bury Telford. To the south lies the River Severn, and beyond can be seen the Shropshire Hills, the last English heights before the Welsh border. All of the surrounding countryside can be readily explored from the Summer House. You can stroll amongst the fields and lanes directly from the door, or explore further afield into Shropshire and the border counties. This holiday at a glance Sleeps two guests. One double bedroom and separate bathroom. West facing views onto orchards and open countryside. Private patio and lawned garden with pond and ha-ha wall. Private parking area for one car. Sorry, no children, infants or pets. WiFi. Minimum of two night stay. Additional features Oak windows, external doors and exposed roof beams. Wood burning stove in the master bedroom. Electric oven with hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, multifunction microwave, dishwasher. Television in the master bedroom and also in the sitting room with Freeview. Barbecue and patio furniture. Attractions and nearby amenities Discover urban-living 2,000 years ago at Wroxeter Roman City, once the fourth largest city in Roman Britain. Wander the remains of the bathhouse and explore a reconstructed town house from a city which was almost as large as Pompeii. Discover the daily lives of the people who lived here with the audio tour and through their objects - found here and on display in the museum. Attingham Park is surrounded by acres of parkland with plenty of space to stretch your legs, run wild or find that perfect spot to relax in. The Mansion tells the story of the Berwick family and how their fortunes rose and fell, while in the vast grounds there are miles of walks, an organic walled garden and large playfield. Full of life and locally loved, there’s something new to see all year round. Visit The Wrekin, a significant local landmark, famous for it’s views and walks. Wroxeter Vineyard is a local vineyard which offers tours when booked in advance. The historic industrial town of Ironbridge offers a selection of great pubs and restaurants. Shrewsbury town centre is packed with timber-framed black & white buildings, steep narrow streets and alleyways. In fact it boasts over 600 listed buildings including the Castle, now a regimental museum and the world-famous Shrewsbury Abbey, home of the fictional Brother Cadfael. Charles Darwin was born and educated in Shrewsbury and all around you will find reminders of his ssociation with the town. The River Severn forms a loop around the town centre offering gentle riverside walks or you can enjoy a trip on the new pleasure boat Sabrina. Next to the river you can relax in the beautiful Quarry Park, the location for the annual Shrewsbury Flower Show.

  • Great stay! Sonia met us on arrival and was very helpful showed us around her Annex which was very clean and spacious. Perfect for a few days in Shrewsbury.

  • Really lovely little house in the Shrewbury country side. Comfortable and clean. Really good proximity to the centre of town, and train station. About a 10 minute drive, or a half an hour walk. I did have a little trouble finding the place, despite Sonia's good directions. Would recommend for a weekend get away, or a good base to explore the surrounding area.

    Sarah2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia's annex was the perfect solution for a group of 8 of us staying in the area for a wedding. We wanted somewhere cheap and a cheerful that we could collapse in after the wedding and this was just great. It's set in a gorgeous setting, and is fitted out nicely. It's quite hard to find, some better directions on the listing would have been helpful. The beds were comfortable (although we weren't expecting an air bed, we thought the sofas were double sofa beds.) Overall though, this was a perfect choice for us and Sonia was really helpful with answering all our questions, despite us not actually meeting. A great touch was the croissants and milk left in the kitchen - they were a lifesaver the morning after a long day/night! Thank you Sonia!

    Georgie2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for any kind of trip - everything was clean beds made with the host also having fresh milk and croissants waiting for us!! Would stay again!!

    Christopher2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Superb! A real home from home with everything you could possibly need. The croissants, milk, tea and coffee were a welcome touch. The annex is in a lovely, quiet spot yet so close to the town centre. Highly, highly recommended. Thank You Sonia!

  • Very quiet, lovely place for our family of four. Bumpy drive in, but otherwise wonderful!

  • Sonia was prompt communicative, we never met her but she was very helpful via e-comms. place was as described and in a lovely location

    Nigel2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Accommodation was perfect and Sonia the perfect host. The annexe was clean and exactly as described in great location for us. There was even milk in the fridge waiting for us. Sonia was super professional and communication spot on better than some 5 star hotels I've stayed in ! If you are visiting Shrewsbury with kids I highly recommend staying here (beats a hotel) and we will be back next yr. Thanks Williams Family Ps There is also a beautiful black cat hanging around the yard that belongs to the neighbour and kids totally fell in love with it.

The delicious breakfast was a special treat, including fresh fruits, cereals, cooked breakfast and toast. The location was quiet, with easy parking and yet close to the town centre. We loved meeting the greyhound Lilly. Very highly recommended!

  • The lack of reviews shouldnt put anyone off - it is only because Deb has only just opened up her lovely home for air b+b. But as an ex restaurant owner, she is the perfect host! The pictures don't do the house justice - it's a beautiful family home, with a lovely garden. Bedroom is so quiet and relaxing and has everything you could want with a very comfortable big bed. Breakfast is very kindly prepared and to a high standard and whatever you want. It's in a lovely location and close to the centre. Deb is a very friendly, personable and interesting person. We had some great chats with her and she also gave us our privacy. Overall a lovely stay and would definitely recommend.

  • Helen had close contact with us before we went away, providing us with comprehensive and useful information about the cottage and local area. She set up the bedrooms as was most beneficial to us and answered all of my questions promptly via email in order to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were made to feel very welcome and we were able to enjoy a very relaxing weekend without any worries from an accomdation point of view.We had 4 dogs with us and it was a very safe and friendly environment to let the dogs roam and play in the surrounding land away from traffic. A more than pleasant stay. I would definitely stay here again!

    claire2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Helen was extremely helpful through the booking process and was at the property to give us a warm welcome when we arrived. The house is large and spacious with plenty of room for our large extended family. It was well stocked and comfortable with lots of bathrooms! The view from the property is breath taking and the area is ideal for outdoor activities but also has plenty of interesting places to visit. We had a great time and would certainly return if we have the opportunity.

    maggie2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in Helen's house. It is very large and spacious, clean and modern with everything you need. Highly recommended! Thank you.

  • We enjoyed a great time at Apple Wood. It provided excellent, comfortable accommodation for our family get together. What a scenic setting! It's a shame that our stay wasn't long enough to explore all that the area had to offer. Perhaps next time! Helen was very helpful and prompt in all communications and I would highly recommend it as a place to stay.

    Hilary2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • 11 of us stayed in this lovely, comfortable and spotless house. So relaxing! Would love to go back and spend more time exploring the beautiful location. Helen was a great host, providing everything we needed and more. Thank you!

    Penny2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We chose Helen's property for a family get together. Our party was seven adults and two children. The property was ideal. We all enjoyed the wonderful views and were lucky enough to see lots of wild life from the lounge window, which included a group of deers roaming in the garden and a crafty fox ambling across the lawn. The kitchen was well equipped and the dining room was plenty big enough for our party. All the beds were comfortable and the house was comfortably warm. We all had a very enjoyable time.

    Christine2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house and the location was excellent. We really enjoyed the weekend stay and had a quality time altogether

    Manikandan2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Helen was an excellent host as was easily contactable throughout the process. She responded quickly to any questions we had before our arrival and was very helpful with arranging the beds the way we wanted. Helen was waiting for us upon our arrival and gave us all the information about the property and advice on things to do in the local area with was very useful. The house is very spacious and comfortable inside and the sofa beds are on a large landing between the 2 upstairs bedrooms so there is plenty of room for everyone. The presence of 5 toilets came in handy with 13 of us staying there. The kitchen is well stocked with more than enough plates/mugs and glasses for a full house. The garden is lovely and has plenty of outdoor seating and is well separated from the road so is safe for pets/children. The house is surrounded by fields (and cows and sheep) and is near a small village. There are plenty of places to visit nearby and we had a wonderful time staying there. We would happily return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

  • Fabien's place is so well located within walking distance of the most interesting places in Shrewsbury. The home is not only fascinating in an 18th century building, but also very easy to feel at home.

  • Fabulous communication from Fabien. The apartment is beautiful. It is serene and incredibly quiet considering its central location. The décor creates an air of calmness, whilst at the same time being stunningly beautiful. You could spend all day looking at the silks, books and furniture, yet it is homely, cosy and comfortable. I slept the best I had in years and woke up to the sound of birds tweeting. Overall a lovely place to stay, a fabulous host. The only downside is that I didn't stay long enough to appreciate the amazing book collection. I am looking forward to returning and once again enjoying this lovely property, managed and owned by a gent who has considerable depth and care about creating a calm living space.

  • Coming from overseas it is hard to know what to expect in accommodation and we had not been to Shrewsbury previously, but it would not be an overstatement to say that this apartment is the epitome of impeccable taste and comfort. The property is just over a year old set down a little lane off the main road in a new complex only 20 minutes walk from central Shrewsbury. It is peaceful and quiet and feels rural as there is a delightful woodland reserve at the rear. Inside, it is immaculately maintained. There is a fully equipped kitchen fit for a chef! We always laugh because properties rarely include kitchen tongs, but even the tongs were there! :) The upstairs bedroom which we used included a super king bed ( could be separated) which was a pleasure to sleep in-not too hard, not too soft-you know-Goldilocks!! The upstairs bathroom included a bath for which I was very grateful after tramping around all day and there was no lack of hot water. The lounge area even included 2 recliners and a nice big footrest with the second lounge. We were very comfortable and would have stayed longer here had we known how lovely it was beforehand. We travel without a vehicle (there was a car space if you need one) so public transport availability is important to us. While we walk as much as we can, we found the bus stop at the top of the lane very convenient on a couple of days when we visited Ironbridge and Bridgnorth. The rest of the time we walked the short distance to town taking various routes each time. The riverside walk just over the English Bridge to The Dingle is lovely and there is a guided walk from the Tourist Informstion Centre which is well worth doing. All in all, we learned a lot more about British history while staying in this fine town and would recommend it as a base to explore other parts, even into Wales which is very close. Philip and Diane were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to greet us and make us feel welcome. Come to Shrewsbury and stay at 3 Saffron with Philip and Diane. You will be in for a treat!

  • We stayed in no 3 Saffron place for a week. The two-storey apartment had everything we needed, like a washer-dryer , iron, dishwasher, oven grill etc. It was very complete and comfy ,like a home away from home. The house manual provided very useful info on the apartment, instructions for the kitchen appliances and places to visit in and around Shrewsbury. The collection of brochures, tourist info, restaurant leaflets and even a chinese restaurant delivery menu were laid out for our perusal.High speed internet was a plus too. Overall, everything in the apartment is modern and new . Very highly recommended. Only regret is that we did't stay longer.

    Claire2017-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Philip and Diane were exceptional hosts, very helpful and welcoming. The apartment is like staying in a 5* hotel but with all the comforts of home. They provisions that were left was a lovely touch. Our only complaint is that we didn't book a longer stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

    Amy2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was absolutely perfect. Roomy, clean, well stocked. Felt more like a 5 star hotel. Phillip was a great host who even went out of his way to take us to the train station. Would definately recommend.

The Snug is situated within a 10 minute walk of Shrewsbury. It is close to Shrewsbury Abbey.
The cottage is perfect for one or two guests. It is self contained with its own access and parking. The living area has a well equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and a sitting area with tv and hifi system. The property has internet access. It has a shower room downstairs. There is a staircase leading up to the bedroom which is in the roof. The bed is Kingsize and very comfortable. The house is close to town but in a quiet and peaceful location.
Shrewsbury is a beautiful market town and The Snug is situated in Abbey Foregate close to The Abbey. There are restaurants, pubs and shops close by.
  • Wonderful hosts. Beautiful cottage with everything you could ask for. Highly recommended

  • The Snug was the perfect home from home during our stay. Decorated to a high standard throughout, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was spotlessly clean. Angela even left breakfast for us, which was gratefully received. The Location of the property is ideal. The centre of Shrewsbury is an easy 10 minute walk away. A real find...we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

    Helen2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great with easy access (15 mins walk) into the centre of Shrewsbury. There is also plenty of parking by the apartment. The snug is beautifully decorated, with modern appliances and a powerful shower. A welcome pack was provided that gave us all of the essentials and made the stay very easy and enjoyable. We would certainly stay there again.

  • Home away from home. A beautiful cottage in a quiet area of Shrewsbury with a ten minute walk to town and the train station. Within five minutes walk you have a selection of nice local restaurants and coffee shops. Would recommend the old shed and Umai Japanese restaurant. Easy access to the cottage wether you are travelling by public transport or your own car - parking in a safe and secure spot right outside the cottage and you won't have to move your car until you leave! All the amenities you could want and ask for to make your stay extra special. The owner has really taken time and care with this cute cottage and it shows throughout. Would definitely stay again if we are ever in Shrewsbury!!

The kitchen is especially good. The host very kindly sets you up with croissants, bread, fruit juice etc so your breakfast is already set.

Relax with your loved one in the cosy Grace room with a wonderfully comfortable kingsize bed for maximum relaxation. With original fireplace and period furniture. All the comforts of home, yours to enjoy together. Enjoy an award winning breakfast too
The dining room is always open and you are welcome to help yourselves to bottled water, milk and juices from the fridge at any time. You are welcome to store your own food/drinks here too. You may also use the microwave to heat up food. There are plates and cutlery and glasses always accessible.
Shrewsbury is a prominent town in Shropshire often referred to as "the gateway to Wales" but it has a rich and varied history. Charles Darwin was born and raised here and you will find references to him throughout the town. We have many old buildings going back 500 years or more, and there are over 500 listed buildings. The Abbey Church is just a 5 minute walk from us, home to the fictional detective monk, Brother Cadfael.

The flat was extremely clean and tidy and had everything that I needed. Mark allowed use of all bathroom and kitchen appliances, and provided towels and bits of food/drink in the kitchen. • We enjoyed our eight night stay at Alison's place. The riverside location is ideal for relaxation and the town is easily accessible on foot in twenty minutes.

  • Our host, Alison, gave us a warm welcome on arrival and we found the apartment had everything we needed. The location suited us very well. The neighbourhood is quiet but it is easy to get into town or out into the countryside. Alison had provided tea, coffee, bread and milk which was very appreciated. Just wish the weather had been a bit warmer so we could have enjoyed the garden and river more. Would be happy to stay there again.

    Tony2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Alison made us feel very welcome. The apartment was just what we were looking for. It would be beautiful in the summer too.

    Stacy2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Host and family are lovely and very helpful :) We experienced a lovely couple of days in Shrewsbury and will definitely be going back when it's warmer.

    Chloe2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Alison made us very welcome. On our arrival she showed us around the flat, which is situated below the main house with a separate entrance. The flat is very well equipped, cosy, comfortable and very clean. Tea, coffee, milk, bread etc were provided - enough for three breakfasts. The door of the living room opens onto a beautiful garden with steps down to the water's edge. It is the perfect place to stay when exploring Shrewsbury and the surrounding area. The neighbourhood is quiet and we were able to park our car off the road. Excellent - thank you Alison and Gary!

    Vicky2015-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Alison & Gary's flat for 2 nights. The communication with Alison was smooth. Gary picked me up from the train station. The flat is located at the bottom of Alison & Gary's house and overlooking River Severn. Roomy, light and airy flat. And warm. Comfortable bed and nice working warm shower. Functional kitchen and well-stocked with the basics such as coffee, tea, milk, bread, jam. I would definitely recommend if you want to have a relaxing time in Shrewsbury.

    Aliah2015-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts, Alison and Gary, were fantastic. They made us feel very welcome and ensured that we knew all the facilities that were available to us during our stay. The location was just perfect, with a lovely stroll into the centre of Shrewsbury. The apartment was comfortable, clean and myself and my friends really felt at ease with staying at the property. We are highly likely to book through Alison again in the future.

    Rachel2015-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • With only 3 pics and no previous reviews, we booked this apartment with no expectations. Today, after my 4 day stay, I can confidently say that this was one of my best airbnb experience. Initial correspondences were smooth and clear. On the day of our arrival, our host picked us from the station (thank you, Gary!) and took us to this beautiful private cottage with the most serene views of River Severn. Located in a quiet residential part of Shrewsbury, the cottage sits beneath the owners (Alison & Gary's) large home, facing the back garden and river. It has private access, a patio and a little garden. Inside is a cosy and well maintained apartment with an en-suite bedroom, living room with a sofa bed and a small but well equipped kitchen. Alison had kindly stocked the kitchen with essentials such as milk, bread and juice. And small things like fresh towels and toiletries were taken care of. The bed was very comfortable, though the sofa bed is ideal for max 2 kids or 1 adult only. The hosts were always available and very responsive. In fact they helped us with information leaflets, maps and helpful tips about the area. The walk to Shrewsbury town centre is through a picturesque route and takes no more than 20mins (just over 1mile) of leisurely walking. The town centre is lovely, with friendly faces and ample shopping/eating and sightseeing options. However, the real beauty of Shrewsbury lies outside the main town. 100mts from the cottage, down the road is a lovely peaceful walk by the river. There is also a cycle route for those who prefer it. Access to the beautiful Shropshire hills and countryside is fast and convenient. We spent a day out at Stiperstones and loved it. Overall, we had a memorable and a very peaceful stay at this place and recommend it to everyone. It checks on all airbnb 'must-have' lists and then some!

Delightful cottage with big garden, orangery and fireplace. A path from a main street will take you into my secluded cottage which is away from the noises of a busy town. So if you want to listen to bird songs in the morning..look no further! My cottage is divided into an area of natural light overlooking the views of a big garden with well established trees and shrubs and another where you can relax by the fire in a comfortable and more subdue environment. Situated within walking distance from the town centre. There is also a regular bus services to the wonderful medieval town: the authentic and historical gateway to mid and north Wales. Shrewsbury is the town on the mighty river Severn slap bang in the middle of Shropshire, an area of outstanding beauty laden with medieval castles and iron age hill forts; blessed by a variety of hills and country walks to suit the needs of any keen hikers or lover of walks. There are 2 bedrooms at the cottage, with a king size and single size"real beds". Also there is a double sofa-bed in the orangery with natural light. All duvets at the property are of the finest quality ( down goose, 10.5 tog ). The bedding includes Egyptian cotton. Extra beddings can be arranged at time of booking. Clean towels, soap and shampoo are standard. You could request dressing gowns too. Hairdryer and European plugs as standard supplied. It might be wise to bring some light slippers with you as the cottage is lay out with ceramics and wooden floors.
My cottage is located on a quiet street just off the main North/south artery, the A49 to Hereford. I like the fact that is quiet but it is also within close proximity to the town centre and I can walk to through lovely houses and a park and beautiful trees and a bridge across the Severn to get to a buzzy town centre full of little shops full of characters, a castle, lovely bars and restaurants and pubs etc....
  • Laura was extremely helpful. Close to town and plenty of space to park cars. Comfortable beds!

    Amy2013-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was a great host. She was great with communication, and her place is lovely. A beautiful conservatory, with a lovely homely feel throughout the rest of the listing. It was easy to find, down a little laneway off the Brook Street. She was also flexible with me, and we had an overall lovely time.

    Gareth2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place was in a good location for town. The single track train line behind the garden is in use but perhaps only twice an hour. The downstairs space is a good size. However, the house sleeps 3 adults not 5 as advertised. There is a double room and a small single room. A mattress was pulled out under the single bed but not completely. The conservatory is open with neighbours access passing it so not suitable for a bedroom. In addition, we were expected to feed the cats which wasn't mentioned until the hungry cats managed to open the stairs door and wake us up in the night (every night). And finally, the house was dirty. The cats run over every surface including the kitchen. The utensils, tea towels and plates were unclean and the bathroom needed a good dust, not just a wipe of the whiteware. This is the first Airbnb that I have had to give a poor review to. While I appreciate that the idea is 'like staying with friends' in this case there were no friends as we didn't meet the host at all during our 3 day stay. Also the price per night made it hard to excuse the short comings.

    Rebecca2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice house and well equipped, very close to town centre

    Andy2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house was in a great position about 15 mins walk from Shrewsbury town centre and offered spacious living accommodation for a family of four. The listing states it sleeps up to six people but the second bedroom a single. While our daughter slept in the single, Our son slept on a mattress in the sitting room downstairs, which worked fine for us but may not be ideal for everyone as it did mean shifting things about each evening. The house had everything we needed but could have done with a more thorough clean. That said, we had a lovely stay, Laura was helpful and the location is great! Thanks

    Amy2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Laura's place in Shrewsbury. It just outside the centre of town but within 20-30 minutes walk. The house was lovely and very cosy especially with the fire on. If in the area again would definitely stay.

It is a good base for walkers. Accessible to the Welsh hills, and Snowdon, (2 hours by car) and the picturesque Shropshire hills nearby.
  • Nina is a lovely person with a picture perfect and well located period home in Shrewsbury. I was held up on the motorway and arrived hours after my planned time. Nina was easy and gracious about it and made me feel immediately welcome. Her home was lovely and warm and there was a much needed hot coffee in my hands within minutes. The bedroom has a large, comfortable bed with crisp linen and everything I could possibly need for home comfort; fluffy towels, hairdryer, bedside tables and lamps a beautiful old desk and lots of storage. As an Airbnb host myself I know first hand what it takes to make a guest feel welcome in your home and Nina did all that and a whole lot more. Nina is an excellent new addition to the Airbnb community. Great choice if you are in Shrewsbury!

  • I was Jane's first ever guest and no one could have been welcomed and looked after better than me. Jane collected me from the station, showered me with tea and goodies and made me feel completely at home. My quiet bedroom (suitable for two people) at the top of the house was beautifully designed with its modern en suite shower room. Thank you Jane.....you are a five star host! A

  • We had a lovely stay this weekend. Jane was a great host, even the little touches like buying strawberry yogurts for my 2 yr old was much appreciated. The room was lovely and clean and your father's home made bread was fab! Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • Fantastic accommodation completed our trip away, first time using this way of booking it won't be our last our accommodation was excellent clean tidy was more than expected,Jane (and family ) were the perfect hosts so welcoming it fell like staying with a relative, not a B&B try keeping us away when next in that part of the country, who needs commercial hotels when you have Jane's abode, plus while there if possible you must meet Jack he is a talented and personable young man we enjoyed chatting to him hope to see you all soon

  • Jane gave us a very warm welcome and the house and our rooms were fantastic, warm, cosy, well provided for, in a brilliant location. The whole experience was extremely easy going and provided a much welcome, one night, break. Shrewsbury is a wonderful town and all four of us had a great time.

Our clean and comfortable house has a spare room available. The room is a 3/4 bed so we have restricted to one guest but if you don't mind a squeeze we can have two. • Beautiful house in such a lovely location, near the river, walkable to town centre and the Abbey. Jane and Harry are great hosts. The house was not only cosy and nice, it was so clean. Comfortable bed. Generous and I even got a lift to the station. Would love to come again. Shrewsbury is a lovely little town.

  • Another good stay. Everything is perfect.

  • Jane and her son Harry were very friendly. Harry cooked me breakfast one morning, which was very welcome and Jane kindly gave me a lift in to town for a wedding reception. Only wished I'd taken some slippers, as Jane has a "no shoe" policy. Town centre is only a 20 minute walk from house and plenty of on street parking.

    Helen2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location- a lovely little bike ride along the river into the very quaint town of Shrewsbury. I didn't realise just how nice Shrewsbury is! Cobbled streets, tudor buildings, beautifully kept parks and sweet river (home to some great rowers, including Jane herself!) You wouldn't know where to choose to dine- lots on offer but I highly recommend Harry's new restaurant 'The House of Grain'- top notch, local produce :) I had so much fun exploring and my stay was made very comfortable by Jane, who was extremely kind to me.

Our room was comfortable with a full en suite bathroom- not to mention the view. Paul is an excellent host, good to chat to and provided us with a good continental breakfast. He also has a very cute doggie called Bella. Altogether a pleasurable experience after a long drive at the end or a working day. Thanks very much, Paul

Circumstances were good for a 'top notch' cooked breakfast too. Facilities were fab, especially the comfy, snug bed/ duvet. If I'm in the area again, I know where I'd like to stay!

We were able to park our rental car on the street just out front with no problems. Our host was very accomodating and a pleasure to chat with. • As per description, very clean and tidy two story house in Shrewsbury. Left a map of the town. We enjoyed our stay

    Sue2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Good Points: 1) The accommodation is close to Shrewsbury but also the A5, which is great for day trips to other parts of the county or to Wales. Meole Brace Retail Park, which includes a Sainsbury's with petrol station, is also very nearby. 2) It is not as expensive as other accommodation in the area but it is still nicely presented, clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious. 3) The cancellation policy is very flexible. 4) The wi-fi internet works perfectly. Bad Points: 1) The bedroom door handles were broken. 2) There is no washing machine and the microwave and television are cheap. Tip: 1) Park on Upper Road behind the house. During our two-night stay, we were able to park directly opposite the back door of the house, so the car was very close to the house for loading/unloading luggage and shopping.
