Holiday Rentals in Yea

Just booked in Yea

A beautifully appointed, quiet sun-lit rustic Guesthouse with unique architectural features and ply panelling throughout. A private, one bedroom with two queen sized beds, a beautiful bathroom with hand crafted timber features, kitchenette, heating and air-conditioning. The kitchen opens out to an al fresco dining & cooking area onto a private deck which overlooks the paddocks and lush bushland. A breakfast hamper with teas, coffee pods, local bread and eggs is provided for your enjoyment.
Escape the hustle and bustle. Our Guesthouse was created as a private serene space where guests can experience the colourful greenery, rolling hills and natural light that floods into the neutral interior. The private deck too was designed to mesh with the surrounding environment and to maximise the view across the forty acres of lush bushland, complete with an outdoor wood fired chiminea for the colder months. The beautifully appointed bedroom - with two queen sized beds in the one room, european panel heating & air-conditioning - is a serene space featuring the simplicity of plywood walls, bamboo timber flooring but still with a country feel. (Please note, the bedroom and the kitchenette both open out to the deck and are joined only by the covered area. Going from the bedroom to the bathroom for example, means you will be stepping out to the deck, walk 2 metres to the kitchenette and through to the bathroom, as there are no connecting doors). The bathroom, with European panelled heating, and the kitchenette, both situated off the private deck, have a contemporary sleek design with handcrafted cedar and blackwood finishes. The Guesthouse features a coffee pod machine, toasted sandwich maker, microwave, a modern gas BBQ, an electric plug in hotplate, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery, in addition to a washing machine and refrigerator. Our Guesthouse is the ideal bush retreat for people seeking a quiet country getaway or digital detox, not too far from the city but close enough to Yarra Valley's finest wineries, restaurants and numerous other activities.
We are situated within the National Park and many walking trails are at our doorstep. There are two pub-style restaurants within a 10-15 minute drive of the Guesthouse, however, if you're happy to drive a little further, you shall find countless award winning restaurants and wineries within the surrounding Yarra Valley. Philip Lobley Wines are situated across the road and can be visited by appointment (please ask me for further details). Walking and cycling tracks are located throughout the National Park, in addition to numerous beautiful horse trails. Yering, Healesville, Yarra Glen, Yea and Toolangi to name a few, are all within a 25 minute drive of Glenburn.
  • We had a great time at Binah guesthouse. Kate greeted us as we arrived and ensured the bedroom and bathroom were pre-warmed. There were also some books for our 3 year old already laid out in the bedroom. We all enjoyed the outdoor living area; the swing being a hit with one particular member of the team. Together with a down jacket, the outdoor heater was enough to make the area very comfortable despite the cold temp. We cooked there both nights, got the fire pit going one night and busted out some marshmallows as well. Binah was a cosy, relaxing stay for us and we'd recommend it to anyone wanting a recharge in a lovely setting.

  • Would recommend this place to people who want to get away from the city life! Took a group of friends here as a pit stop to the snow. When we awoke the entire property was covered in beautiful frost but we were warm and cozy inside. Perfect place to stay for a winter experience and I feel would be even better in summer!

    Kara Faye2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and secluded, ideal to get away from it all, in a snug little guest house. Loved roasting marshmallows in the chiminea. Had forgotten just how dark the night sky can be and how bright the stars are away from the city.

  • Binah Guesthouse in Glenburn was lovely, and exactly as described. Perfect if you're after a quiet, private getaway in the Yarra valley, with all of the creature comforts you need, including great beds, lovely amenities, and a fabulous selection of books! Kate (and John) were wonderful hosts and couldn't have been more helpful (and we can't thank John enough for fixing our flat tyre!). We highly recommend staying here and a visit across the road to Philip Lobley's winery is a must. Delicious wine and great company! Thanks again, Clare and Rachel

  • Robyn's Retreat is quite simply a perfect destination for a weekend away. Every need has been catered for and considered in the beautiful spacious retreat.

    Andrew2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Robyn's little cottage-flat is one of the cutest little places I have ever had the pleasure of staying. The fitout is marvelous, with no luxury or comfort overlooked. My partner an I both live and work in the city. We came here for the weekend for a private place to get away from everything and recharge our batteries, and this beautiful little place helped us do just that. Being able to sit in the outdoor entertainment area and watch a movie on the big screen while enjoying an open fireplace and a glass of wine was a truly excellent way to relax. Robyn was a fantastic and flexible host who really takes pride in offering a lovely place to stay to her tenants. We will be coming back here again, hopefully for longer next time! compared to some of the other accommodation available in Yea, it might seem a little pricey... but I can assure you it is worth EVERY CENT. Do yourself the favour, and you won't be disappointed.

  • Sunrises over the beautiful hills, welcoming roses, fruit-bowl, chocolate chip cookies, bacon, eggs and tomato breakfasts. It is surreal!

    Peter2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our two nights at Cheviot Glen were incredible. Alison, Alistair and their dog, Harry, met us outside late at night to guide us to their remote cabin in the paddock. What a pleasant surprise. On the cold night she had turned the room heater and the electric blankets on so we were immediately warm and cozy. The cabin was super clean, neatly organised and charming. Food in the fridge, fruit on the table and cookies and candy treats made us feel welcome and cared for. Then in the morning we found a small package of a towel wrapped around. Warm loaf of freshly baked bread!! What a treat! We have decided that we are going to make this our new annual retreat. We love it there. The view out the windows is one of lush green rolling hills, trees and paddocks. It’s very isolated and quiet. Can’t wait to go back.

  • Penny is a gracious host the the house is lovely - comfortable and welcoming. We came in the winter, and it was toasty and warm in the rooms, and the beds have lovely thick doonas. There were delicious home-made Anzac biscuits by the tea and coffee for an evening snack, and we had a lovely breakfast in the morning. It was the perfect place to stop on our way to Buller, and we can highly recommend it.

  • Penny was a lovely host and made us feel very comfortable. The room was generous and we were able to interact as much as we liked. Position is close to the Main Street. Penny was also quite responsive/good at communicating. We stayed only 1 night, to attend a wedding nearby. Would loved to have stayed longer, and to meet the chooks. The glass of freshly squeezed OJ for ‘the morning after’ was a lovely touch & very appreciated!

Flowerdale is home to the beautiful King Parrot Creek which has a 10km bike track along its banks, or you might like a swim in the cascading rock pools... If you drive towards Strath Creek you can't go past the iconic Flowerdale Estate, a fabulous place for a special meal or high tea on Sundays. In nearby Yea, the choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs is vast for such a small town. Live music often graces the venues. The Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail is a short ride or drive away. Cyclists will love the area for all it offers. In addition there is a ten kilometre bike path through our valley alongside the King Parrot Creek. Add a stop for coffee at the local store or cold beer at the local Flowerdale hotel on the way back. The tall trees (some 80m) in Toolangi are only a short drive away, visit Toolangi Forest Discovery Centre and Cafe... well worth a day exploring this magnificent area. Fly fishing enthusiasts frequently do well in the King Parrot Creek. Hang gliders and para-gliders can frequently be seen at the top of our property. Miniature steam train rides at nearby Kerrisdale.
  • A truly great experience - Vikki was a dream to deal with and the property and house was exactly what a country getaway should be!

  • A great spot for a local Melbourne get-away - peaceful. A unique "homestead" with a very comfortable/ relaxed style set in a beautiful location. Would definitely recommend for an R&R escape.

  • Words can’t describe the absolute bliss we’ve had the last 3 days. From adventures around Flowerdale and the property itself, to the lovely locals and attentive hosts. Fishing, cycling, bushwalking, berry picking, animal watching, piano playing, fairy lights, local pub and general store, friendly folks and divine views. The house itself it so picturesque and comfortable I was happy just being there but everything else was a bonus .

  • Gorgeous place to stay, everyone including the kids had a great time. Perfect place to unwind and plenty to see and do in surrounding area. Local wildlife was a definite highlight!

    Claudine 2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome and the hosts were great to deal with and get to know a little. The views are spectacular - I could sit and enjoy it all day and night... as a matter of fact I did! The place has character and charm and has a warm and homely vibe. It's not luxurious, but it has everything you need and more to be comfortable. There's wildlife all around the house with multiple roos, wombats and lizards spotted close to the house - which we loved... but the dog was a little bemused! It was 40 degrees when we were there so the creek close by was great to cool down too. As it's new to Airbnb, there was no wifi or TV - which I thought might be an issue, but once we settled in an enjoyed the surrounds - it didn't matter. Only an hour from the Nth of Melbourne, this place was a favorite of ours and one we intent to stay at again soon.

    Liam2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic week staying at the lodge, views were amazing with so much wildlife to see. Walked to the top of the summit although a challenging climb views were spectacular. A running creek just down the road to cool off in. Very cozy place to stay, to sit by the fire or sit on the porch to relax and socialise. The whole family had an amazing relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of life.

  • Stephen and Mary are great hosts. From the time we booked to the time we checked out we have nothing but praise. Everything went like clock work from the directions to the welcoming when we arrived. The cottage has charm and everything one needs. The surroundings are perfect, and the location is peaceful. We enjoyed our stay tremendously, and we can definitely recommend this accommodation. Just a shame we could not stay any longer. The breakfast is also highly recommended. 5 stars out of 5 from us. Keep up the good work.

  • The cottage was cozy, bright, secure and charming. Mary and Stephen were great hosts and beautiful people. We stayed at the cottage for a wedding and as it was quite chilly on the wedding night Mary kindly offered to have the fire going for when we arrived back that evening. It was much appreciated and beyond expectation. Thank you Mary and Stephen

  • Stephen and Mary were warm and welcoming hosts. The cottage is very well set up with a lovely fire (perfect for gazing into) and peaceful vibe. The surrounding gardens give an added feeling of tranquility. A great place to stay for exploring Toolangi State Forest or the nearby Rail Trail. The cooked breakfast is highly recommended!

  • Stephen and Mary have a beautiful property surrounded by a lovely garden. Their hospitality is second to none. They were really accommodating with our baby and were always looking to ease our stay in whatever way they could. If you need accommodation around Yea my family and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

  • Stephen and Mary are great hosts with the perfect, quiet, country cottage with furnishings and fire place that give the cottage a warm, cosy feel, and the delicious cooked breakfasts were an added bonus. Highly recommended.

  • This is a lovely farm stay cottage... we loved the drive up through the rolling hills and the valley and the garden setting. Staying here felt really homely and nourishing. We both enjoyed the chats with Stephen and Mary, loved our eggy breakfast. The place is SO clean, and we loved having a crackling fire in the evening. Good base for exploring, we rode along the rail trail and did some hikes in the area. I reckon buy some groceries and take advantage of the kitchen! It's not fancy glamorous, more wholesome comfy and I think it would suit people who want to see the stars, get outside and hear the birds.

    Monique2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and Stephen are warm, lovely, friendly and obliging hosts. The cottage, located in beautiful gardens and peaceful surrounds, was warm and comfortable and offered everything we needed. Five of us stayed and we had plenty of room. My 92 year old father particularly enjoyed the fire (which was already going when we arrived) and took up prime position by it. The Yea countryside is very pretty and there are lots of great spots to visit nearby. We visited a local winery on the way home too! We all really enjoyed our bacon and eggs breakfast - perfectly cooked and gluten free for those of us that needed it! Thank you Mary and Stephen we had a lovely, relaxing stay. We'd love to come back one day!

    Robyn2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderfuly stay at the Cottage. Steve and Mary were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The Cottage is as charming as can be, and the breakfast is great. We took a stroll in the farm in the morning and took in the great view from the hill top. I would definitely recommend staying in the Outlook Cottage.

Want the pros of glamping, without the cons? Our cosy glampers are the ideal way to do it. Switch off and relax in the beautiful countryside, with no sacrifice to your creature comforts. We have three glampervan sites - each in walking distance and visible to the others, but altogether private.
Remote serenity: Up on a rise towards the back of our 200-acre property of rolling Strath Creek hills dotted with bushland, you’re far enough away from others to be undisturbed. And from the covered deck, you’ll look out to views that will make your heart soar. Mod cons: The glamper is fully self-contained with queen bed, ensuite bathroom, kitchen, coffee machine, TV and DVD, and that covered deck. Whatever the weather outside, the well-heated interior and electric blanket will keep you cosy. Just bring food and drink, and your favourite person. Relax, and listen to the sounds of the countryside. Cook your dinner on the BBQ and warm your toes at the fire as you watch the sun set across the valley. The next morning, greet the kangaroo families that bound across the ridge while you sip your morning espresso. You’ll be away from it all… with a deck and an ensuite. We have two other accommodation options for the Village Green, but all are separate from each other and our glampervan site is the most secluded of all. Staying in our glampervan offers a tiny house experience: Key features include: - A single room (that’s bright and fresh) with a queen-sized bed, a small table for dining, and a kitchenette - A divan that folds out to a double sized bed. This can accommodate up to 2 small children. - Everything you need to self-cater … with a touch of luxury (including a coffee machine) - An adjoining ensuite, fully equipped It’s the best of all worlds – you’re away from it all, but the comfort came with you.
If you’re feeling like some activity, have a walk around the property and meet the local alpacas. Take the scenic drive into Yea for some afternoon tea, or head up into the snowfields. Other attractions include: - Taking a ride on a steam train at the Kerrisdale Mountain Railway - Mountain biking and treetop adventures with Kinglake Forest Adventures - Riding your bike along part of the Great Victorian Rail Trail
  • John and Ros were AMAZING hosts. They were so hospitable and caring, and every fine detail was taken care of. We weren't able to get in contact with our friends, and even without asking, John had called them for us to make sure they were ok. Ros went and made sure we had enough clean water and facilities to cook with. The glampervan was immaculate, and the amenitities were as described. The location was breathtaking, tranquil and open. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you very much for having us stay. Liz and family.

The fire was absolutely divine to have going nighttime, the coffee machine was much appreciated, as were the lovely linen and sheets. Thanks to Melissa and her family.

  • A lovely cottage in a tranquil setting with delicious food and thoughtful hosts.

    Lois2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. The hosts gave us a warm welcome but we were left to our own devices which was absolutely fine. The cottage was extremely child friendly with a basket of toys and plenty of games. The cottage itself was pretty much child-proofed which was great. The bedrooms were a little cold and our toddler could've done with a little heater in her room (we were cosy enough with the electric blankets) but the rest of the house was kept lovely cosy with the log fire. Would definitely recommend this air bnb!
