Church
“Built well over 500 years ago, it’s one of the largest and most beautiful buildings to visit in all of Yorkshire. Now, heads up, you will need to pay a fee to enter, but you can save a pretty penny if you purchase a York Pass that allows entry to lots of the main sites in the city. It’s easily one of the best things to do in York and totally impressive. Also, if you’re looking for a little bit of a challenge, ask at the ticketing counter to climb the tower itself. Yup, it’s just under 300 steps but it’s well worth it for view all across the city. ”

History Museum
“Well worth a trip! As if the museum itself wasn't enough, the museum's gardens, simply known by locals as 'museum gardens' is very pretty. With St. Mary's Abbey, a ruined Benedictine Abbey as a back drop, you will amaze your friends with some pretty fanatastic photographs!”

“Choose one of the hundreds of cocktails on offer (Eva's favourite is The Battenberg) before taking a seat outside along the wall mural or stumble up the wonky staircase to sit on a four poster bed looking over the bustling Harry Potter style streets of York. You'll be sure to meet some interesting characters here. Johnny Depp gives it a thumbs up!”

“Just a short walk out of town to Bishopthorpe Road area you will find a bustling high street with plenty of places to eat and do a spot of local grocery shopping. Angel on the Green, a converted bike shop still has a repair service and small area with bike accessories. A local independent place to relax and enjoy a drink and something to eat. They always offer a specials board with light bites and something a little more substantial. Try the fish finger sandwich.....fresh light battered fish goujons between two thick slices of soda bread! Delicious! Homemade food, with something for everyone.”
