The apartment is on the ground floor of a converted mill, which stands alone at the end of a lane, surrounded by Water Meadows. It has a large bedroom with a king size bed, separate shower and kitchenette. The Purbeck Hills are approximately 3 miles away.
The apartment has its own entrance so guests can come and go as they please. The kitchenette is equipped with a combination oven, a fridge with a small freezer, kettle, nespresso machine and toaster. I provide you with a continental style breakfast (for the first morning only) - OJ, locally made yoghurts, a fresh loaf from the bakery in the village, milk from the local dairy, a choice of Dorset Cereals and fresh fruit - for you to enjoy at your leisure.
Well known beauty spots of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are approximately 5 miles away, and there are several pubs within walking distance. Major towns of Bournemouth, Poole, Dorchester and Swanage are all within a 20 mile radius. Monkey World and The Tank Museum are right on my doorstep.
  • Our stay with Ally was our second ever AirBnB experience, but our first UK booking (we're UK residents). However, without needing too much past experience for comparison and through simply experiencing Ally's hospitality and rental home, it's quite clear that she's high end - as in perfection, 5*, (not as in overpriced). In fact Ally offers super value for money, for her service and for enjoying the apartment and surroundings. My husband and I have stayed in all sorts of places over the years, in all parts of the world, from hostels, B&B, 3*-5*Gold hotels and all kinds of self catering; so we do have some good experience to draw on generally. We both highly recommend staying here. The apartment is cosy but fresh, full of modern character and charm, the cleanliness is second to none and Ally's attention to detail is superb. This is more than a standard self catering holiday let, Ally supplies a wonderful continental breakfast, a mini bar and lots of local information including menus from good local eateries. The bed was just so utterly comfy and all the furnishings are expertly designed/put together. We really enjoyed hanging out in the evenings and mornings. I'd like to give a huge thanks to Ally because all her efforts and thoughtfulness really did make a wonderful birthday mini break! Thank you so much!

  • The house is in a beautiful location and the pictures just don't do some of the features justice. Ally was an extremely attentive host throughout our whole stay and kept in touch brilliantly when we were running a bit late for check in due to traffic. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • Fantastic place. Great location and welcoming

    Caroline2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a prefect little base for exploring thisprt o the Doreset countryside with so much in easy reach - Bovington Tank Museum, Mokeyworld, Lulworth Castle, Corfe Castle & Steam line and the beautiful coastline of Studland Beach, Durdle Dor etc. There are also plenty of high quality restaurants and pubs in the area, e.g. The Pig by the Beach. The photos do not do this B&B justice - it's a beautiful tranquil spot, right next to the River, with a table and chairs overlooking the mill. The rooms are ver ell appointed, clean with some lovely 'home' touches and practical facilities fo a wkd in the countryside. Breakfast is all sourced locally an there is an honesty bar - very grown up! Ally, th host, is also very helpful with local recommendations. We will be back!

  • Ally's beautiful accommodation set the scene for what was my engagement weekend, was the perfect spot to bring my fiance' back after proposing along the Dorset coast, thank you Ally for making everything perfect from the wonderful scenery around the property which made for a lovely morning stroll to the equally beautiful breakfast we had on our return. See you next year for our anniversary . Many thanks, Russ and Lauren

  • We stayed at Ally's place for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The property is exactly as described set in a very peaceful and tranquil location. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Limestone Hotel in West Lulworth which was perfect to celebrate a special occasion. I would really recommend it for a relaxing break in beautiful Dorset.

  • We had such a pleasurable time staying with Ally as she is such a gracious host. Everything was beautiful, thoughtful and considerate of our needs. We highly recommend Ally's place as a springboard for sightseeing around Dorset and will be back again.

  • My husband and I enjoyed a one night stay at Ally's for his birthday. The annex is beautifully decorated, very clean and Ally has thought of all the little extras you could possibly need. The area was very peaceful - great for a relaxing weekend away (so lovely to wake up to nothing but the sound of bird song!) and the breakfast supplied was delicious! The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and the annex makes a great base for visiting places such as Lulworth Cove and Corfe Castle. Would highly recommend to anybody visiting Dorset. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Ally :)

We are listing a double ensuite with adjoining twin bedroom in a rural setting with no street lights or pavements. Ideal if you want to relax and get away from it all. You will need a car as there is no public transport or pubs within walking distance. The golf course which is quite formal & within walking distance has a bar which is open to the public but evening meals have to be pre-booked. We share the house with two large friendly dogs, who'd love to meet you.
My husband and I are renting the upstairs of our house that we do not use, it consists of a double bedroom/ensuite and a twin bedded room. If both rooms are wanted at the same time, please note that the ensuite is accessed via the double bedroom so we will only rent out the twin room as additional accommodation to the people renting the double bedroom. We are also willing to rent this space out as one double bedroom/ensuite or a twin bedded room with use of the ensuite should friends/couples not want to sleep in the same bed. The stay has to be for a minimum of 2 nights or more. We provide a help yourself vegetarian/continental breakfast. We are both vegetarians and do ask that guests do not prepare or cook meat or fish in our kitchen. Our house is set in a large garden, in a rural area, backing on to the East Dorset Golf Club & bowls resort, where there is a bar and restaurant (Please note: The golf course is quite formal it has a bar which is open to the public but evening meals have to be pre-booked.) . The villages of Bere Regis and Wool are a short 5 minute car drive away. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door is a 10 - 15 minute drive away from our house. We have two very friendly Rhodesian Ridgebacks. They are kept downstairs & are not allowed upstairs. The male is very large and will bark when you first arrive & the younger female is still very lively & a bit bouncy, so our accomodation will not be suitable if anyone in the party is afraid of dogs. They are both very friendly and will give you as much attention as you give them. We also have 3 friendly free range hens that provide fresh eggs most mornings (please note 3 hens and NO cockerel) We have an abundance of birdlife in our garden and deer are often seen grazing in our field, these can be seen from the window seat in the double bedroom. Pubs and restaurants are in Wareham (6 miles), Bere Regis (5 miles) and Wool (5 miles) Of couse you could always eat at the golf club which is half a mile away, a lovely walk along the quiet country lane. Sandy beaches can be found 30 minutes away in Swanage and Studland. On the Puddletown Road there is a clay pigeon shooting school and a gliding club both of which allow people have a go. They are both about 1.5 miles from the house. Monkey World is only 2.5 miles away which means that we can often hear the gibbons. Bovington Tank museum is about 5 miles away and tanks can frequently be seen training on the roads. The pretty market town of Wareham has plenty of pubs, restaurants & shops to look at. It also has a lovely quay where at high tide the boat trips from Poole come the river and drop people off to look around the town. Swanage Railway has steam and diesel trains to take you to Swanage via Corfe Castle. These run fron Norden about 3 miles from Wareham. However, this year they have opened up new tracks and now have a few trains running from Wareham to Swanage. Stop at the National Trust Cafe Corfe Castle where their cream teas and lunches are delicious, or pop into one of Corfe Castle's pubs. Not far from Wareham drive to the RSPB Arne Nature Reserve where you will see birds and deer and fabulous views of Poole Harbour and its islands. We have pleanty of lovely walks ranging from Wareham forest (1 mile), the beautiful jurassic coast & plenty of countryside bidleways to explore one of which passes by the front of our house. Whatever you decide to do we are sure you will love our little corner of Dorset. We live in a very rural setting with no street lights or pavements. Ideal if you want to relax and get away from it all. There is NO public transport close by the nearest train station is about 5 miles away. This means a car is a must if you are planning to stay.

  • We've just had a really enjoyable and relaxing couple of days staying at Liz and Chris's. It was our first ever Airbnb booking and we certainly weren't disappointed. They were kind and helpful hosts and made us feel welcome. Everything was as described and the room was perfect, very nicely decorated, lovely comfortable bed, clean, peaceful and with idyllic views out over the meadow.

  • Wonderful welcome from great hosts in marvellous house! Had a lovely time and couldn't recommend highly enough!

    Martin2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Liz and Chris are the perfect hosts. We received a very warm welcome on our arrival and all the help including maps and guide books to help plan our day. The house is in the most idyllic setting and great for anyone wishing to escape the city. The gardens are beautiful as is the surrounding countryside. Our rooms were extremely comfortable, and had everything one could possibly need. They were spotlessly clean, the beds were so comfortable, and lovely soft linen. Breakfast was so hearty and included home baked bread which was such a treat. This review would not be complete without a mention of Kulu and Alice, their gorgeous Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs. We certainly enjoyed their presence very much ! There is not a single aspect of our stay that was in any way negative. I would highly recommend this property without any reservations.

  • It is a magical place with a stunning garden. The doogs are great and the host are wonderful. The two room are very private and all this in beautiful surroundings and near the tourist attractions.

  • We had a lovely weekend break with Liz, Chris and the dogs :) they were excellent hosts, and the kids loved playing in the amazing garden - highly recommended!

  • What a treat :) Such lovely accommodation, we felt right at home straightaway and didn't want to leave. Liz offered us drinks on arrival and the chocolate bar for our son was very welcome. Water bottles in the bedroom was a thoughtful touch. Very comfortable bedrooms and great bathroom. It all worked really well. The house is in a very tranquil location which we just loved and was within just a few miles of the places we were visiting. :) Highly recommended.

  • Thank you for the fantastic rooms and the outstanding hospitality! The rooms are clean and tidy, the garden is beautiful, the setting is quiet and relaxing.. The coast area just minutes away, it's just a perfect location for a weekend escape from the busy city life. It was an unforgettable weekend, thank you!

    Viktor2012-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Liz and Chris and the dogs Kulu and Alice, made us feel very welcome. The directions to the house were very clear and we found it easily. The house was as showed on the website. The accommodation is lovely, clean and spacious, the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat every morning. One morning Chris baked for us bread. It was crispy and warm when we waked up! A good thing to start the day. We specially like to thank Chris who highlighted the beautiful nature reserves to spot birds. My two daughters loved the dogs and played with them as much as possible . I really hope we will be able to return because it felt like visiting family or friends.

'Minnow Cottage' is a lovely Victorian farm cottage in a quaint, rural hamlet just 8 minutes drive from 'Lulworth Cove'. Ideally situated for all the attractions of the Jurassic Coast and with lots of pretty, local walks. We love to welcome children & have left toys for our mini-guests!
The cottage was built at the end of the 1800's and retains many original features such as original doors, fireplace (decorative) and cob work. It is sympathetically furnished and decorated throughout and includes a modern kitchen and bathroom, lounge/diner and garden with summer-house. Upstairs there are two main bedrooms; one is a double and the other is a twin. There is also a games snug complete with DVD player, Wii, vintage Nintendo system and board games. In the games snug are two full-size, fold-out single mattresses for additional guests. These are best set-out one in the snug and the other between the twin beds. The snug is very small, so this space as well as the fold out beds, are only suitable for children. We have three small children ourselves and have left out toys and games and children's DVDs as well as plastic plates and cutlery and garden toys and children's bikes. There is a travel cot and booster seat high chair available. We can also recommend a local babysitter who is a fully qualified nursery nurse. Her details including business page are in the online house manual or in the manual at the cottage. We love authentic pieces and have left out our vintage dolls pram and vintage games and radios for you to enjoy. There are two TV's both are for gaming and DVD's only. There is Wifi at the cottage. Minnow Cottage is an on-going restoration of love for us, so while we are working overseas we have decided to open our home to others to love it for us. It is a great base for exploring this area of outstanding natural beauty and is ideal for children. We have priced our cottage at a lower rate since we know it's tricky to find an affordable family/pet friendly cottage, we feel it provides exceptional value for money. We charge an additional flat rate fee of £20 for guests visiting with dogs. This covers any additional cleaning which may be required. Please let us know in advance if you wish to bring a dog. Early check-in and late check-out options can sometimes be arranged in advance for a fee of £20. Please ask for details. Please see further details for more information on the house.
This is a quiet hamlet in rural Dorset. It has immediate coutryside walks available from the front door and is the inspiration for Thomas Hardy's 'Tess of the Durbevilles'. Lulworth Cove is an 8 min drive away along with all the other stunning scenary and attractions of the Jurassic Coast. There are three nice pubs within walking distance all offering great local food. A short drive or cycle away is the award winning 'Moreton Tea Rooms' which is located next to a beautiful ford - well worth a visit! Monkey World and The Tank Museum are both 15 minutes walk away whilst Lulworth Castle, Tyneham Village, Corfe Castle and Swanage seaside town are all also within the local area. For those who like a walk with a twist, try collecting pictures of yourselves next to some of the crazy Dorset place names such as 'Bindon Bottom', 'Scratchy Bottom', the River 'Piddle' and 'Tincleton' to name only a few of the more tame ones!
  • Katie communicated really well in preparation for our recent stay - very friendly and prompt. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped and a great location for exploring the Dorset coast. Although my son is a teenager he enjoyed the Nintendo and the snug is perfect for DVD watching in the evening! Many thanks, Karen.

  • We had a wonderful time at the cottage - it's in a perfect location for beautiful beaches & of course monkey world! One not to miss if you have kids. The cottage is well equipped & warm & cozy. We brought our dog too who loved pottering in the garden. Katie's communication was immediate & informed & warm. One thing to note towels are not provided. Fantastic stay & highly recommend for small family.

  • Great cottage, good access to local amenities and beaches

    Annie2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's cottage is a very quiet and cozy place. It is family-friendly, authentic (the building is from the 19th century) and located at a perfect spot - 10 minutes driving from the best part of the Dorset coastline (Durdle door and Lulworth cove). The host was also very kind and the communication was smooth even though she was staying in a different country. Definitely recommend it!

  • Thank you for being such a great host. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your home and it was perfect for our trip. the boys enjoyed the toys, books and garden. It was made a lot easier to not have to bring cot, high chair etc for the baby. Thank you ever so much.

  • A weekend away in Dorset made hassle-free by a stay in the beautiful Minnow Cottage. Katie made everything so easy, and the cottage was a perfect base for our trip. Everything we could possibly have needed was catered for, and Katie and her cleaner Jayne made us feel very welcome - resolving any worries we had at the drop of a hat. The cottage is a credit to Katie and her family - beautifully decorated, clean, warm and homely. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone looking to stay close to Lulworth :-)

    Joanne2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Katie made us feel really welcome from her communications (always prompt and friendly) to her kind offer to borrow her childrens toys (the highlight of the holiday for our kids). The cottage is lovely and the location is really convenient for exploring the numerous things to do nearby. We had a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Katie.

Comfortable family home set in a gloriously peaceful location in the heart of Dorset offers bed and breakfast accommodation. 1 double bedroom is downstairs with its own bathroom, the other is an en suite on the first floor. We are surrounded by unspoilt countryside, views, woodland and fresh air, with the coast nearby. There are plenty of attractions to visit (Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, the Jurassic Coast etc), and we are situated midway between Dorchester and Poole.
There are no neighbours! Nearest village is 2 miles away with a shop, pubs, and petrol station
  • Anne was a great host and had everything set out for us before we arrived. Loved the breakfast she cooked up for us, and the view of her back garden while having breakfast was just delightful. Will definitely come back to stay again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Annes place. The house and rooms are cozy and clean. Anne and her husband helped us with everything and are very kind hosts. The full english breakfast was amazing. We definetly recommemd their place.

  • Great place! Quiet and tucked away. The hosts were absolutely lovely and accommodating. Two local pubs about 5 minutes down the road and we favored the Drax Arms. A lot of local things to do within a 30 minute drive - Jurassic Coast tour, Bovington Tank Museum, etc. Highly recommend

  • Anne and Tim were extremely warm and welcoming hosts ( not to forget my favourite: Truffle ☺️). Anne's home is situated in a very scenic location along the beautiful English countryside. The description was accurate and was very easy to find. Anne gave us all the necessary information. We were served lovely fresh home cooked breakfast (with farm fresh eggs being the highlight). She was kind enough to cook a vegetarian breakfast for us. The location close to all the important attractions such the tank museum and Lulworth Cove. We highly recommend this place for people who want to enjoy the countryside and visit the Jurassic coast.

We are in a small rural village, 8 miles East of Dorchester, close to Winfrith Newburgh, Wool, Bovington Tank museum and monkey world. 10 mins drive from beautiful Jurassic coast, Lulworth cove and durdle door. Our place is ideal for solo travellers on business trips.
Bright double room with comfortable 4'6" bed, small wardrobe, shelves and drawers. Plenty of hangers, a hair dryer, work table, chair and freeview TV. There is also a hospitality tray with tea/coffee & biscuits, we are offering room only, breakfast is not offered. The light bathroom is just a couple of steps away, (we can supply a bathrobe for you ! ) bath with shower over, WC and basin. We supply a small bath towel and hand towel, shower gel & shampoo. Bathroom is shared with one other room on odd occasions, but usually its just yours. We have a dog (lab) and a cat but we keep them away from guests unless you wish to say hello. By request, we can make you a bacon bap and mug of tea for your breakfast at small cost.
Rural village location, centrally located, within easy reach of Dorchester and the Jurassic coast. You would be best to have access to a car or cycle as the village is a little remote, but pack your walking boots as there are some fabulous walks on the door step. Our home is down a no through lane, lined with thatched cottages. Just a stones throw from the river Frome where there is a long footbridge over the ford into the forest. Moreton offers an award winning tea rooms, stunning church and pretty walled gardens. For evening meals you would need to travel out of the village centre, the nearest pub is approx 1.8 mile.

We renovated the property to make it our home
Living outside of the town and with our house having lovely views of the horses that graze in the fields in front of our home

Wooden barn conversion that's been converted to the highest spec, on the edge of a pretty rural Dorset village. Only a few miles from the stunning Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, there is plenty of walks attractions for all the family. The world famous Monkey world and Tank Museum is only a 10 minute drive away, you could also visit the ruins of Corfe castle with beautiful village it is set in. We are 20 minute drive from Dorchester which was the home of Thomas Hardy.
Converted barn that was completed July 2017 by myself and my wife Janice. The barn has disabled access, One king size bed in the main bedroom with a double sofa bed in the lounge/dinning area. There is outside decking to enjoy the sunshine and glorious views of surrounding area and also a BBQ and sun loungers for you to rest and relax with.
  • Excellent location - very close to Durdle Door, Lulworth cove. Lyme Regis is under 1 hr drive. The accommodation was great too, very clean and fresh, attention to details is excellent, many thanks to the hosts for providing essentials for breakfast too (tea, coffee, milk, jam, bread and much more), was very pleasantly surprised. There is a BBQ onsite, which is great at the end of the day at the beach to have some nice meal. All in all, excellent in everything. We really enjoyed our stay and hopefully looking forward to come here next year.

  • My family (5 adults) had a great weekend staying at Greenhills on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. The house was very clean and comfortable with a large common space for dining and relaxing. We enjoyed walking around the grounds to see the chickens and resident sheep. It's a very convenient location for visiting Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.

Great budget accommodation for the family, enjoy a whole house to yourself in the the lovely Dorset. Fantastic countryside views from the back garden, watch the kids on the trampoline whilst sipping your wine from the lounge chairs whilst the husband cooks dinner on the gas BBQ! Walking path through the countryside is right by the back fence. Local village pubs and village shop and children's park are all within 10 minute walk.
3 Bedrooms, 1 with double bed, 1 with single bed, 1 mid-sleeper which can have a tent canopy over it for the kids shown in photo or it can be quickly removed. Another mattress can be added underneath to make a bunk bed. Kitchen with breakfast bar, fridge/freezer, 2 ovens, 4 burner electric hob, slow cooker, washing machine and the essential dishwasher! Large dining room to seat 6. Smart TV in lounge with a small pool table for the kids, its got a few scratches and it is small so definitely not for the professional adult but great for giving the kids a game. Greenhouse in back garden where you can store bikes. Large drive to park 3 cars. Even though the house is in picturesque quaint village of Bere Regis, the road is old brick terraced houses which are not so aesthetically pleasing to the eye at the front, but the views from the back garden make up for it. Very practical, no frills large house for bringing the whole family!
  • Fantastic place. The house was equipped with everything we need, even toys for kids. It's was clean and tidy. Lucy was very helpful before during and after our visiting. We had a wonderful time in Bere Regis thanks Lucy

  • Lucy is a fabulous host and answered all our queries quickly. This property is Lucy's family home and is just a perfect place to stay especially if you have children. We took our 3 daughters and they loved it from start to finish. There are lots of toys and the trampoline, swing ball and football in the garden was a God send. The view out the back of the house is just stunning. The village is a short walk away with pubs and a shop. Location wise it was great for getting around various locations in Dorset. All in all we had a great stay at Lucy's place and recommend it wholeheartedly. Michelle and Chris

  • Lucy was proactive in sending us check-in information and made it very easy for us - we didn't know exactly what time we would arrive so the key was waiting for us. It was easy to find the wifi code and everything we needed. The house is nice and roomy and well supplied. It was lovely to have bread and milk waiting for us. Our girls were very pleased to find toys and books. The farm shop up the road is lovely and good for small children as you can look at quite a range of animals in the yard. Great place, well recommended.

  • Bere Regis is the perfect place to explore the coast region. It is small town with a very nice church (check the ceiling) and possibility for taking a nice walk. We have two children (age 3 and 5); things to do within appr. 1 hour drive: Swanage train (great!), Jurassic coast in Lyme Regis (fun! also visit the fossil shop for great fossils in Lyme Regis), Cerne Abbas (Giant, great walk via the grave yard, note the very big swing (check the bottom side for an instant smile), visit Durdle door and Lulworth Cove, beautiful beaches, a lot of museums, Adventure Wonderland (nice for 2 or 3 hours, is okay, not very special) and Stonehenge. Lucy's house is just as the pictures display, what you see is what you get. Perfect space for 4 or 5 people. Has a great trampoline in the yard and a tennis play. Furthermore Lucy left us lots of games, which made the evenings very fun. Thank you for your hospitality Lucy and for the home made jams ... !

  • The house was just as described, it is in a quiet neighbourhood with views of the countryside from the back garden. The house is equipped with everything you might need, including books and toys for the children and the use of a trampoline in the garden. The host responded quickly to any queries and although we didn't meet, made sure that we had a smooth check in. There was a welcome pack of tea, coffee, fresh bread, milk, butter and some lovely jam, which was nice after a long journey. We had a lovely relaxing family holiday here, a real home from home.

This house sits close to the rocky romantic wash of Dorset’s Jurassic coast. There is plenty to do nearby including a trip to Monkey World or just exploring Lulworth Cove. However many people just want to sit back and enjoy the swimming pool (open May - September) and large gardens surrounding the house. The hosts were helpful on a late booking, the room clean with all conveniences, a full pub with nice ales and full menu is part of the facilities, the breakfast that was included was very good. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Pink House is nestled in the village of East Lulworth, just a stone's throw from historic Lulworth Castle & Country Park and only 3 miles from the sea at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door
Perfectly positioned for walking, cycling, relaxing and sightseeing The Pink House is close to the famous horseshoe shaped Lulworth Cove and the sweeping beaches of the Purbecks, including Durdle Door, Man 'O' War, St Oswald's and Mupe Bay. This spectacular Jurassic Coastline, now declared a World Heritage Site, is accessible via footpaths from the house and here you can enjoy breathtaking coastal walks, swimming, snorkeling, picnics, fishing, kayaking, photography, or just lazing on the beach with friends and family. The Pink House is a post war semi detached property previously owned by The Weld Family Estate and has uninterrupted views to the front and also to the back where wild deer are often seen grazing with their young. The house itself is spacious and homely with a large open plan lounge/dining area, wood burning stove as well as cosy underfloor heating, comfortable furniture and modern essentials such as WiFi, smart TV, DVD and stereo etc. French double doors (from the dining area) open directly onto the paved patio which leads up to the garden with outdoor seating, lawn/play area, fruit trees, flowers, BBQ and herbs for cooking. Adjacent to the lounge is a snug/study area with another wood burning stove, double sofa bed, well stocked library of vintage paperbacks, local guidebooks and walking/touring maps of Dorset. The country style kitchen with garden views has been updated to include slate quarry tiles, underfloor heating, fitted kitchen, oven, hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms with good sized double beds and quality mattresses, as well as pure cotton sheets, feather duvets and pillows. The bathroom has a recently installed walk in shower, bath, vanity sink unit and WC. There is also a 2nd separate toilet upstairs which is adjacent to the main bathroom. Throughout the house there are many personal touches including handmade mosaic mirrors, beachcomber mobiles of driftwood and glass, recycled objets d'art and other memorabilia collected from our travels. If you are a family seeking a hideaway holiday, an active group of friends eager to explore, a wedding party celebrating at nearby Lulworth Castle or just interested in discovering the delights of Thomas Hardy's Dorset then the Pink House is the perfect place to come and stay in a country setting close by the sea. Amenities include off road parking for 2 cars only. Pure cotton bed linen, bathroom towels, electricity, WiFi and central heating included. There is a full sized cot with mattress plus highchair. Responsible pet owners and their well behaved dogs (minimum age 12 months) are welcome although, unfortunately, we cannot accept guests with cats. As a courtesy to other guests there is no smoking policy within the house In nearby Wareham, Wool or Lulworth you can sample Dorset specialties at the weekly farmers markets, pick your own at the organic farm shop - which also sells top quality regional produce, buy locally caught fresh fish, try a range of tasty goods at the well stocked delicatessen and health food stores or discover Purbeck arts & crafts from around the area. If you don't want to drive the Weld Arms Pub, Tea Rooms and Lulworth Equestrian Centre are all within easy walking distance.
The Pink House is close to Lulworth Castle and Country Park which the Weld Family Estate have owned since the 17th Century. Today they still manage and maintain it as open to the public and every August it hosts the family music festival that is Camp Bestival. Just two miles from the sea at Lulworth Cove and the beautiful beaches of Purbeck there is much to discover, explore and enjoy. Lulworth Cove is the jewel in the crown of the Jurassic Coast and an absolute must for visitors to Dorset. Granted World Heritage Site status by UNESCO in 2001 this unique chalk and limestone cove is one of the finest examples in the world of such a land form and is framed by the Purbeck hills of Hambury Tout and the magnificent natural arch at Durdle Door. The area is a magnet for geologists, geographers and photographers including the dramatic Fossil Forest where petrified tree remains. dating back to the Dinosaur Age, can still be seen. Lulworth Cove has a fresh fish shop selling the local catch every day in summer and all weekends throughout the year. The blue flag beaches and superb coastal walking along the Purbecks are linked to footpaths leading directly from The Pink House and take you east to Lulworth, Osmington, Ringstead and Weymouth or west to Kimmeridge. Dancing Ledge and Swanage. Kimmeridge Bay is a popular surfing and walking destination. A Ramblers' poll voted the Jurassic journey along the clifftops from Kimmeridge to Durdle Door as the best walk in Britain! It has also provided the majority of Kimmeridge Clay fossils, including a very impressive marine crocodile, on display in the Heritage Centre at Lulworth Cove. For shopping and supplies Wool has a traditional family bakery, local shops and weekly W.I. market Thursdays though you have to be first and fast to get the best of the local produce. Nearby Wareham is an old walled Saxon town, built by on the banks of the River Frome by Alfred the Great in the 9th century and bordered by Wareham Forest and the Dorset Downs. There is a traditional farmers market every Thursday and Saturday and a number of cafes and eateries in the town and quayside. There is a train station, a County Library, a good delicatessen, health food shops, greengrocers, bakeries and a couple of supermarkets. In the summer there is a music festival and an annual carnival which take place down by the quay complete with parades and fireworks. For film buffs you can step back in time at The Rex Cinema, still lit with original gas lamps, and one of the few cinemas in the country where you can buy a drink from the bar and take it in with you to watch the film. Kept going by enthusiastic volunteers, the Rex is the flagship of the Purbeck Film Festival which is the longest running rural film festival in the UK. The charming coastal village of Studland, situated roughly halfway between Sandbanks and Swanage, is famous for its beaches, pretty thatched cottages and nature reserve. There are 4 km of golden beaches along Studland Bay, backed by sand dunes and heathland. The Studland and Godlingston Heath National Nature Reserve has been a haven for birds and other wildlife since 1946, home to all six native species of reptile and is also one of the best places in the UK to see the Dartford Warbler. In the bay itself two species of seahorse have been discovered in the seagrass beds at the southern end of the beach. Chalk grasslands leading from the village along the coastal path to Old Harry Rocks are studded with rare orchids and abound in insects such as the delicate chalk blue butterfly and the elusive and endangered Lulworth Skipper. There is a delightful little church dating back to Norman times which is still in use today. Studland is the ideal choice for a family day excursion, walking, horse riding or simply enjoying the seaside. From Studland you can also take the chain ferry across Poole Harbour to Sandbanks, affectionately known as 'Britain's Palm Beach', or onto Poole and Bournemouth. Accessible by ferry or private boat Brownsea Island is owned and managed by the National Trust and in 1907 played host to the very first Boy Scout movement camp. In 2007 boy scouts and girl guides from over 160 countries gathered here as the focus of worldwide celebrations marking the centenary of the movement. The island has a visitor centre and museum in addition to an outdoor centre and trading post shop at the Scout Camp. It is one of the few places in Southern England with a thriving population of red squirrels because grey squirrels have never been introduced and Sika deer are present in large numbers. You can also see avocets, terns, herons, egrets and even peacocks which wander freely around the grounds.
  • Debbie was very welcoming and all our contact with her from the moment of booking was efficient and very kind. She sent through a welcome pack which was great for early planning. Debbie and her husband met us at the house and showed us around, as well as providing helpful tips about the surrounding area's activities and place to eat and shop. The house was just as it appears in the photos, and immaculately clean and homely with crisp bed linen and a well equipped kitchen. We loved the welcoming touches of tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits, as well as being out in the countryside. It was a very rural, peaceful spot, perfect for us.

  • Had a lovely time staying at the Pink House would highly recommend!

  • Lovely house that feels truly like a home, full of trinkets and everything you need to be comfortable. It's in a lovely location with great walks to the cost and nearby Lulworth Castle. The garden was probably our favourite part and perfect for barbeques or whiling away a beautiful summer's eve. The hosts Deb & John were very friendly, helpful and welcoming from our very first exchanges. They also had a personally written list of tips and recommendations in the local area that were very helpful. And, lots of maps, books and leaflets were available in the house to help us make the most of our stay and the surrounding areas.

  • If you want to get away from it all then this is the place. The house is in a very quiet area about one mile outside of the village of East Lulworth, The house was spotlessly clean, charmingly furnished with a well-equipped kitchen, the Wifi worked fine but there was no phone signal (which was a plus for me). The beds were very comfortable with cotton bed linen. The hosts, Deb and John, made us feel welcome. They had plenty of suggestions of places to visit. Most of the beds are doubles so you have to be comfortable sharing! Purbeck is a beautiful part of the South Coast and I would definitely like to return.

  • I had a wonderful stay at the Pink House with my partner and parents. The hosts Deb and John were very friendly and informative in their correspondence. The property has a beautiful view from the living space across Dorset fields and a lovely garden at the rear. We felt instantly at home from the moment we stepped inside. It was just as enjoyable to spend time here as it was to explore the many wonderful attractions of Dorset. I highly recommend the place to everyone. Many thanks!

    Danny2014-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very accommodating particularly about our dogs so there is no complaint there as they were keen to please. The location of the property whilst it was in the area of natural beauty the actual location, road and style of the property was not really what we had expected. I believe a previous reviewer commented the picture is misleading and we felt that is true. The first house in the cul de sac was very untidy and the front garden looks like a junk yard so we were shocked on arrival that we had paid a lot of money to stay in this environment. The Pink House itself was very clean and tidy, the beds comfortable and nicely made up and the garden was superb for the dogs. Overall we had a nice time, it was easy to get around from and the close by Weld Pub was excellent. The property would definitely suit a family or walkers who are looking for a comfortable place to stay but as a romantic getaway it didn't quite make the grade.

    Debra2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a quirky house as described and very well equipped. Deborah made us feel very welcome and was in touch a couple of times before our arrival. Cosy lounge area and comfy beds. Everywhere was very clean. Great pub about 20 mins walk away and of course loads beautiful countryside and the coast nearby. Fabulous spot for a walking holiday. Be aware only parking for 2 cars. Would recommend, and would stay again.

    Lynne2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Pink House is in a superb location a stones throw from the grounds of Lulworth Castle. The house was equipped with everything needed for my family of four, including tea, (real) coffee and milk kindly left by the host. There are 3 spacious bedrooms upstairs, all with exposed floorboards and quirky decor. The house is actually a lot smaller than it looks on the listing, but is still a roomy semi with two reception rooms and large family dining table. We found the wifi to be adequate for our needs. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are 10mins drive away, but if you have children I recommend one of the sand beaches - such as Swanage - as the former are both pebble beaches. There are also some lovely walks, villages and towns nearby. I can't fault the actual house as it was spotless and the hosts, Debbie & John, were great! My only criticism (and not the fault of the host) is that the house is the only holiday let of the six houses on the street, the other five being residential, I would have preferred to have been a little more isolated (or around other holidaymakers for obvious reasons). 10/10 for the house facilities and host!

Voted 10th coolest cottage in Britain by the Sunday Times in 2009, Cobweb Cottage is an ancient, thatched, tradiional Dorset cottage close to Durdle door and Lulworth Cove. Originally two workers cottages, Cobweb is tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with its age, it features oak beams, exposed brickwork and an inglenook fireplace with bread oven. Enter via a side gate to a small pretty rear garden with lawn area, surrounded by mature shrubs, bushes and trees. Parking on street.
Cobweb has been a happy holiday home for almost 15 years, and played host to couples, families and small groups from around the globe. Beautifully located for all of Dorset's ' must see' attractions, and just a short drive to the stunning Jurassic coastline, Tyneham Ghost Village, Corfe Castle, Swanage Steam and numerous historice sites and houses. Come rain or shine, Cobweb Cottage is a dream base for a relaxing break or activity holiday. Children especially love the two staircases which mean you can meet in the middle anywhere in the house! The large inglenook fireplace with logs provided allows for cosy evenings following longs days walking or on the beach.
Winfrith Newburgh is a pretty village with well stocked shop / post office, a friendly pub and beautiful church dating from the 11th century.
  • Fantastic location, friendly village, great walking, good food locally and at Lulworth Cove and super golf course at Came Down. Pace of life so much slower than at home in St Albans. Cottage full of character. We would have loved to use the inglenook but it was too warm!

  • A picture perfect cottage in the centre of a beautiful village. It has all the modern comforts you'd expect and there's a pleasant pub 10 minutes down the road. Fantastic for a weekend away

  • Brilliant place, very clean cottage and great beds. It is not often that we have such amazing mattresses in a rental place. It is well located and quint! Perfect weekend

    Johanna2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cobweb cottage is as lovely as in the pictures and we had a great stay with our family (6 people). The cottage is spacious and comfortable, although the stairs are extremely steep and could be very difficult with young children or people with reduced mobility. It is also very close to the beach (10 minutes in the car to Lulworth cove), the garden is also a beautiful place to relax. We would be back!

    Celine2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely gorgeous inside and out, and the local area is incredibly picturesque. We stayed here over the weekend of TankFest at the nearby Tank Museum and it was an ideal base.

    Alexandra2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully charming cottage. Surprisingly spacious and well equipped for short or long stays. It was nice to have the shower room and toilet downstairs, with a very elegant and again sizeable bathroom upstairs. Good sized fully enclosed garden great for our dog. Wonderful location for exploring the Jurassic Coast. With Lulworth Cove just 10 min. drive away.

  • Cobweb cottage is a beautiful, quaint and secluded cottage set in a picturesque Dorset village. Located very closely to Luworth Cove and Durdle door the cottage is brilliant to be used as a base for exploring the amazing local area. Great sized bedrooms, a good lounge and fantastic large kitchen allowed us to have a wonderful weekend away.

  • This place is lovely. The cabin is really nicely composed with fresh decor and homely touches. We slept really well and loved waking up to the sounds of the birds, including the chickens having their morning chat. The area is quiet, the local pub (The Sailor's Return) is excellent and the location is great for exploring the coast and other sights. Go visit Monkey World, the Tank Museum, Thomas Hardy's house and Lulworth Cove at the very least! Louise was welcoming and has a super flair for hosting as the cabin layout and garden decor shows. We'd certainly stay again.

  • The hut was really comfortable and perfect for me with everything I needed. I slept really well in the peaceful surroundings and with no light pollution, saw shooting stars on the last night. It's located in a pretty village with a very handy local shop. Louise was very welcoming and I'm sure I'll be back.

  • The Green Hut is a lovely get away. The space is well designed, tastefully finished and feels fresh and airy. The hut is wood panneled inside, which gives it a nice substantial feeling. The chickens in the garden add a bit of country atmosphere without being obtrusive. The village shop is nearby and stocks lots of tasty cakes, biscuits and savouries. Louise was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

  • A really lovely hut that is much bigger than the photos suggest. Lots of neat touches make it a very nice spot. Very close to wonderful coastal walking. Sailor's Return is the best pub in the area and is walkable.

  • My girlfriend and I were both extremely pleased with the whole experience, the whole surrounding were beautiful and the building itself was very warm, clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. The whole stay was delightful and we would happily stay again, very friendly greeting and nice little touches around the property made the whole visit more enjoyable. Thank you.

  • Good sized, quiet and comfortable place situated in a beautiful village. The village shop is a minutes walk away and is great for emergency supplies and fresh croissants at the weekend and very delicious quiches. Hosts gave us space and privacy. Coast is about an hours walk along fairly quiet country roads and the coastal walks are stunning. We did Lulworth Cove to Osmington Mills which took about 3 hours. Great pubs: Lulworth Cove inn, Smugglers Inn (Osmington Mills) and Sailors Return (Chaldon Herring - 30 min walk from cottage). Cottage would be enhanced with a real wood fire. We had problems with the hot water but I think was just bad luck and was being resolved the day we left.

  • We had a lovely weekend exploring the surrounding the area and the apartment was clean and provided everything we needed, including a full kitchen which was greatly appreciated when we failed to be able to make a reservation for dinner on the Saturday night. It was great to have flexibility of arrival time as we were driving down during the evening. Sharon popped in to check that everything was ok and it was nice to meet her!

  • Beautiful house in an amazing location. 10min drive from beautiful beach, lovely pubs nearby for lunch. Very spacious bedroom and lovely sitting room with a kitchen.

    Ruta2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely two nights stay at Sharon's Win Place cottage. The cottage is very well located if you want to visit Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door and other attractions nearby. I didn't explore much of the village, so I can't comment on it. The cottage was impecable at arrival. You can see Sharon wants guests to feel welcome and at home and to enjoy their stay to the fullest. Sharon came around shortly after we arrived to see if everything was alright and then left us to enjoy our time for the duration of our stay. The cottage is a good size for two people, but I guess it may be possible to stay with 1 or 2 kids too. The living room is very spacious, confortable and nicely decorated. The cottage has very good access to internet and free view sat tv (or something of the sorts!), so I was able to catch up on my prefered Netflix show at night. The kitchen has all main appliances and utensils, so it was easy to cook a quick meal (although you may want to bring basics like oil/butter if you think you may need them). The bed was extremely confortable and the location very quiet, so I slept like a baby. I would definitely return to Sharon's place. Totally recommend it.

Although the property is a semi detached bungalow the bedroom is in the roof with Velux widows facing front and back. A large, light spacious room. The bathroom is downstairs. The property is in a rural location down an unmade private road. There are two local pubs locally.
Guests have their own entrance leading to their own dining room equipped with a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and toaster.
The property is 7 miles from the coast and the County town of Dorchester. Monkey World and The Tank Museum at Bovington are both close by.
  • Barbara was the most lovely host. She is a very interesting woman, does a lot of traveling, took us to the bestival site each day and helped us out with taxi details for later on. The place was extremely comfortable, clean and great value for money. Definitely recommended.

    claire2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place was absolutely perfect. We had a private entrance so we didn't have to worry about waking her up when we got back late. Barbara was wonderful, she left out some of her delicious home made honey and even gave us a lift to our car the following morning! Cannot recommend staying with Barbara enough. :)

    Anna2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The room is very clean and has great atmosphere. The view from the roof window is beautiful - a meadow with ponies and horses grazing, birds singing, and fresh air. The hostess is very kind and excellent in communication. She even provided food for breakfast, tea, coffee, juice and milk for us, which gave a great start to our day! The location is excellent for tank enthusiasts visiting the museum in Bovington. It's just 5-7 minutes away with a car, making it possible to use the maximum of your day there. I would highly recommend the place! Thank you, Barbara!

  • Fantastic rural location, very quiet and a true sense and feeling of peace and tranquility. Wildlife viewings great of Guinae Fowl, Peacock and Stag (the latter we were told about by Barbara who had had a rare sighting of one in her paddock!) Barbara welcomed us warmly and spent time going through the room and space that is on offer at her place. All facilities great: comfy beds, great bath tub, powerful shower with plenty of hot water, nice touch of bread and toaster for brekkie option with a nice selection of fresh fruit. Will be booking friends here when they come to visit me once I've moved to Dorset in September. Barbara very informative and helpful with places to eat in local villages which are close by and was very communicative prior to travelling, which was nice. Lovely, peaceful stay, thank you Barbara

The annex was beautifully presented with modern amenities. A lovely breakfast was brought out to the annex which was a nicetouch. I can highly recommend this stay, and I would like to see if I can return at another date as unfortunately, I did not get to fully explore this beautiful part of the Purbeck. There is so much to see. Thank you Sally!

  • Our stay at the Coach Cottage was just a flying visit (a one-night stop-over en route from Cambridgeshire to Cornwall). Nick, his wife and their lovely dog, were absolutely charming and bent over backwards to make us welcome. Communication in advance of our stay was excellent, and we were grateful for Nick’s directions (ignore your Sat Nav, and follow what Nick says!) The setting is lovely, and the bed very comfortable – we had a great night’s sleep! The Coach Cottage probably wouldn’t suit anyone with mobility difficulties, as the room is up some relatively steep stairs. However, we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit the area.

  • Great place to stay, Nick is the perfect host & couldn't do enough to make our stay a positive one. Large but comfortable bed, spacious bedroom & bathroom in private area of the house. Quiet location but very handy for exploring the local area. 2 pubs in the village if required. We only asked for cereal & toast for breakfast but cooked breakfast was also available. A very enjoyable stay & wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

  • Bere Regis is a great location for exploring the many attractions of Dorset & Nick is the perfect host. Upon arrival, Nick (& Inky.....Nick's friendly Springer Spaniel) greeted us with a warm welcome & nothing was too much trouble. The house is located in a quiet street with convenient parking right outside. The guest area is self contained on one side of the house & affords total privacy. The bedroom is large with lots of wardrobe space, TV, WiFi & tea/coffee making facilities. The bed is large & extremely comfortable! A spacious bathroom is conveniently located next door to the bedroom. Bere Regis offers two good pubs with a great choice of food & drink. Nick's hearty breakfast ensured we were well prepared for walking the hills of the beautiful Jurassic coastline from nearby Lulworth Cove. We look forward to staying here again on our next adventure to Dorset. Highly recommended!
