Hands down the best restaurant in Dallas right now. You probably won't be able to get a reservation, but they are so hard to come by because they save tons of room for walk ins. If you are a foodie, this is not to be missed.

A fantastic neighborhood joint. They only do beer and wine, but they do it well. I recommend grabbing a bottle of Impatience Rose and a seat on the patio and enjoy the people watching.

You won't see a sign outside, but you'll know it by the big, maroon awning. This is a speakeasy style bar serving up Dallas' best craft cocktails. It gets a little rowdy after 11 pm, but it's a good crowd. Not like your typical packed-with-22-year-olds Uptown bar.

Maybe Dallas' most exclusive club right now. It's a great scene inside with a much better atmosphere than your basic nightclub, but make sure you dress well and brace yourself for the possibility of getting turned away.

This expansive indoor-outdoor bar is the talk of the town. Don't miss seeing the views from the second story, even if you have to wait in line to get up there. A real hot spot after attending a Mavs game or concert at American Airlines Center.

Getting Around
This is the biggest gem Uptown has to offer - free, clean, air-conditioned public transportation. These are actual historic wooden trolley cars that have been restored for modern use. You'll see signs for stops up and down McKinney Ave. There is a "schedule" but they don't really stick to it. Go to mata.org to view a live feed. I pull this up on my phone to see how close a trolley car is at any given time. It starts in Cityplace (just past the West Village), goes all the way down McKinney, makes a loop through downtown, then goes back up to Cityplace, making stops along the way. I recommend riding it for a whole loop just to see the sights. It's great. I even take the trolley to work most days.
