Delicious North African food - there is a tea room next door and the nicest spots in central London for alfresco dining in a garden on a pedestrian cul de sac. A delight.
The basement has a bar and live/dj music.

A one off - the tea room has the best cakes in London. There are several different dining experiences - from a Michelin Starred restaurant upstairs to alternative dining areas - not cheap but incredible experience. DJ play so there's some dancing/drinking areas too.

Once an indoor market serving the West Indian locals it has turned into a warren of mini restaurants and cafés for the new young (white) hipsters - some old stalls remain so there's an echo of things past - amazing food at some of the places - I've eaten a lot at one for amazing Italian food, the Thai is great too.

Parks & Nature
Columbian families have picnics, hipsters cycle and keep fit people jog around this haven of green in the most urban on neighbourhoods. Once a canal ran through all the way to Camberwell Road and slum dwellings and warehouses all around were razed in the late 70s to create a green space - recently revamped with millions of architectural remodelling it has turned the park into a really great place to spend a (rare) sunny day. Nice quiet cycle route into Peckham is also a boon.

This little park is an oasis in the neighbourhood, famous for being the spot Charlie Chaplin kissed his first girlfriend. From my place you walk through it to catch the buses into town, nice green space full of trees and grassy areas.

One the garden of the manor house that sits on top of the hill (now a dodgy cafe) Brockwell Park has an amazing view across London. The Lido Café
