Alaska Aviation Museum sits right on the Largest Seaplane base in the World, Lake Hood. Great museum with plenty of Alaskan History to look at.

Stop on the down the Seward Highway to get a possible sighting of the Beluga Whales. Look into the mountains on the left for Goats and Sheep. There is a pipe in the side of the mountain about 1 mile south you can collect drinking water. Be careful crossing the road and in the winter it gets icy around the water pipe so be vigilant.

Seward HighwayStop on the down the Seward Highway to get a possible sighting of the Beluga Whales. Look into the mountains on the left for Goats and Sheep. Great medium to Moderate trail, great views of the Cook inlet and Anchorage. Can take the lower trail up the valley, its an easier walk.

Great hiking trail. At the top you can see both Anchorage and Eagle River. Easy to moderate hike. Keep in mind part of the road up is on Army land and from time to time they close the road for active training exercises. Best to check ahead of time to be sure. Gate also closes at 10pm every night.
