The Calgary Tower is aptly named (although it is no longer - and far from - the tallest tower in the city). You can take the stairs of the elevator, can walk on the glass floor at the top and check out the restaurant at the top called 360. 360 is pretty expensive but if you’re in Calgary, heading to the top of the tower is a great activity!

The Bow River Pathways runs through the heart of Calgary. Great spots to start walking are in Kensington, Point McKay, Bowness, and East Village. You can see lots of geese, hares, and if you’re lucky, some deer. Bowness has some great spots to sit in the sun and possibly go for a dip in the water. You can also rent a kayak or raft to take down the river (rental stores all around Calgary). The Calgary Fire Department and Police and are always patrolling the water in the summer, so be sure to have your life jacket done up when you are on your watercraft.

Of course, the city zoo is a great please to start for singles, couples, and families. They have interesting exhibits including a butterfly exhibit which is our favourite. They also host evening events, especially in Winter. Zoo Lights, for example is a big hit!

We love Spark because they always host new and fun exhibits for kids and adults (see Thursday adult nights once per month!). There’s an outdoor playground that should keep the kids and husbands entertained for days.

I mean, how cool does this climbing wall look from the highway? Imagine close up! There is outdoor and indoor climbing here that you can check out.

Calaway Park is Calgary’s amusement park, just on the outskirts of the city. There are a few rides for the teenagers and many, many rides for the little ones. Our favourite is the log ride, “Shoot the Chutes”. Buy all the cotton candy and taffy.
