The newly renovated Albert Ice House, just off RR 1623, almost dead set in the middle of the Lone Star State, is open 4 days a week, offering ice-cold beer, live music, big-screen HDTV and barbecue with all the trimmings by Riley’s Bar-B-Q. Albert’s friends are locals who gather there after work and travelers who stop in and gather either in the Ice House, or outside under two ancient live oaks in the large patio-beer garden, with the biggest picnic tables in Texas that can accommodate hundreds of guests for dominoes, horseshoes, washers, endless fresh air and campfires in the stone fire pit.
