A Local’s guide to eating in Corbridge

Restaurants

This is my own personal list of where to eat in Corbridge. Having been brought up and lived in Corbridge over thirty years; I have a good grasp of where to eat and what’s worth the money.
The food is great! This place is where I go when I return home, to feel like I’ve returned. It’s been running for nearly thirty years and there is a reason it’s been so successful. Polite and friendly staff, brilliant scene with a great decor and then the food will blow you away.

Another village stable which has been around for nigh on thirty years and has no sign of going away. Have a personal love for their chips and gravy, because I got that once a week after scouts for what must have been four years. Although their actual Chinese selection is very good. Only downside is that this is a takeaway only and doesn’t supply any seating. But if you want a good Chinese takeaway, look no further.

I’ll start this recommendation by saying I used to work here as a trainee chef when I was a teenager. So please consider that I still hold this establishment, the family owners and the staff in high enough regard to suggest them. The pub has this lovely old wooden beams running through the entirety of the building and the decor is picked to match. You really feel like you’ve stepped back in time a little, when you pop your head in. The staff are warm and inventing, the food is very well done and will cater to those who have a soft spot for classic English cuisine. And for those who like a good selection of beers and ales, look no further. Worth a Sunday lunch if you have the chance to take it.

Takeaways

This is my own personal list of where to eat in Corbridge. So if you need a quick bite to eat or you’re like to order something for collection, these are the places to go.
A lovely and deceptively large Cafe in the middle of the village. Stop for a tea or coffee and stay for a bite. The staff will provide you a loving put together list of various teas and coffees to choose from. With a great little menu to choose from. I always go for a Egg’s Benedict for brunch when I get the chance and haven’t been disappointed so far in the fifty plus times I’ve had it there.
