Food Scene

Daikaya is a locally hyped place just down 6th street, but the line is usually 1-3 hours. Reren just opened about 8 months ago and is starting to get extremely popular, but the wait is rarely more than 15 minutes tops. The Dan Dan noodle is incredible - I get it several times a week. Tell them Kevin sent you.

The Bacon Cheddar Biscuit and Goat Cheese + Herb Biscuit are amazing breakfast foods, and there is usually a 10-30 minute line just to get them. If you shop up past 11:30am they're probably sold out.

Decent and cheapish sushi that's right around the corner from the apartment. Stick to the rolls. Best affordable sushi in the area.

The best small bites in the area with amazing Japanese-American fusion dishes running $12-15 a plate. Avoid the sushi - it's okay but the highlight are the small dishes. I like this place better than Rose's Luxury, one of the most hyped restaurants in DC that does small plates and which just earned a Michelin Star. The inside is really classy as well - great date spot that won't break your bank.

Chic bar/small plates place with a really cool venue and incredible dishes. Right above the extremely popular Daikaya noodle restaurant in DC; while people wait hours to eat some ramen, head upstairs and get some unorthodox but delicious grub without a wait.

Drinks & Nightlife

One of the better, chilled out bars in all of DC and it's right down the street 2 minutes away. The top floor has heat lamps and nice string lights. I go here all the time.

Ultra high-end luxury stores line the bottom floor of the recently opened City Center DC condos. A pretty area to walk through at night if nothing else.

Essentials

Just 5-10 minutes away, Safeway is a good grocery store in DC that is steps above Giant but maybe not quite Whole Foods level - which is perfect to me. They've got everything.
