Castlepoint is about 40 minutes' drive from Riversdale but well worth the trip as it is a very beautiful area with a couple of good walks. The walk to the lighthouse is shorter but if you enjoy a more strenuous hill climb, the walkway that is located at the south of the beach is highly recommended for the views are quite spectacular.

If you're travelling North, Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre is located about 1 hour's drive from Riversdale Beach. Pamphlets are available in the cabin in the bedside drawer if you want more information on this amazing place.
