City advice

Getting around

Hobart is serviced by buses only (Metro Tasmania)

Check website for timetable information and ticketing. Buses do not run frequently to our area so check the timetable as you are making plans. A taxi/Uber is approximately $35-$40 from Hobart and will get you where you need to go a lot quicker than public transport. Hiring a car is the best option.
Book before you go

Pennicott Wilderness Journeys

Make a booking in advance of the day you wish to take the tour. Fills quickly and limited seating.
What to pack

Bring a range of clothing for all weather situations

Hobart is reputable for quick changing weather, the odd winter-ish day over the summer period and locals wearing shorts and t-shirts while visitors are in jeans and jumpers! Layers are a good way to go!!
Don't miss

Day trip to Bruny Island.

Catch the ferry at Kettering for a 20 minute ride to the island. Sightseeing, Bruny Island Wine and Cheese, Adventure Bay beach, climb the steps to The Neck for a great selfie - a definite must see and do!
Don't miss

Mount Wellington/Kunanyi

Take a drive to the top (don’t forget your camera and a jacket) for spectacular views of Hobart. Also walking trails in Wellington Park for those feeling active.
