Sightseeing

This extension of the Harbor walk takes you about a mile along the upper bay and Passagassawakeag River. You may see Eagles, Loons, Osprey and Cormorants. Shortly after you pass the range way you might see some wild rabbits grazing on the hillside below a home your left. This wide path allows for social distancing and is used by walkers, runners and bikers. You will walk on the old trestle bridge and at the end, City Point is the terminus of the Belfast Moosehead railroad,

This path allows access to Belfast’s working waterfront. You can walk through Front Street Shipyard home to the largest boat lift north of Newport. Boats up to 200 ft can be lifted and worked on in the yard. During the summer we are often visited by super yachts! Along the walk you will also find food trucks, a craft brewery, ice cream, parks, a busy harbor. French and Webb boat builders are currently restoring America’s Presidential yacht, the USS Sequoia.
