Midnight hole is a swimming hole on Big Creek Trail in the Great Smokey Mountains. One of my favorite places!! You can start here and stay in the GSMNP on route 32 over Mount Sterling to Cataloochee to see the elk! PERFECT day!

Cataloochee was the largest settlement in the Smokies in its heyday. It boast amazing artifacts and if you go an hour after sunrise or an hour before dusk you will see the Elk (and often a bear or two) come out of the forest to graze in the fields!!

Amazing no matter what the weather is!! Max Patch is a bald at 6k feet. Gorgeous views but when it's rainy it is so enchanting!! The perfect spot for a picnic and so romantic at sunset!!
