This place is awesome! The adult arcade hang out has all the vintage games mixed with the new. Outdoor patio is covered and a real vibe in the evenings. Fun fact, if you are traveling with minors, they are allowed up to a particular time...Enjoy!

The activity is so much fun! Located directly next door to BoxCar Arcade you can make a real date night memorable. There is a bar but no eats. However, they cater from a nearby restaurant AND you are allowed to bring your own food. Highly recommend checking it out!

This is ideal for kids 12 and under. Features many hands on science exhibits, massive playground and a surprising amount of animals! Bears, snakes, wolves, birds, farm animals and more all local to NC. My personal favorite, the butterfly house!! Yes, they will land you! The best part! There is also a short train ride for the young kiddos through the woods, which you can purchase tickets for online ahead of time (recommended). Don't avoid this if you have older kids or are traveling alone. It is indoor/outdoor and a lovely time for all!

Very inexpensive and fun way to spend the day doing America's favorite pass time. Hotdogs, beer, Wooley the Bull mascot and an overall good time. Even if baseball isn't your thing, Bulls games are super fun.

The pictures do no justice. This recently upgraded park is nested downtown Cary with a very large but smart setup. Kids of all ages will enjoy the jungle gyms and lighted animals. It is well lit and bustling well after dark.

Bar & Restaurant Scene

https://americantobacco.co/ This is a must visit area! Plenty of restaurants, bars, and baseball! This area used to be the center of tobacco country as a mass producer of tobacco products. Today downtown Durham has been revitalized to include contemporary work and play spaces with a mixture of the old warehouses to give it a funky city vibe. You can find plenty concerts, festivals, art galleries, Durham Bulls baseball games, a skate park and more! Great for a leisurely walk before or after a good meal. Very lively bar scene if you're into that.

Had to add this restaurant. Just outside the neighborhood, it is cozy family owned serving authentic Mexican fare. Nothing fancy, just tasty.

Sightseeing

I grew up along this river. My childhood home sits off one of the park trails actually. Drop in a fishing line or go get your toes wet! There are covered areas and picnic tables if you want to make a day of it. Great bass fishing and beautiful scene. Be mindful during the summer months that it is the great outdoors and snakes are a thing, so keep to paths and be cautious around logs/rock piles. There are typically quite a few people, so that helps keep sightings low. Get out early to claim your place along the banks.

To name a few, Target, Walmart, ROSS, TJ Maxx, Bath and Body Works, Movie Theater, Waxing services, Pets Mart, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bj's and more. If you forgot to pack something, you will definitely find it here.

City advice

Getting around

Via car is the best way to travel.

Although you are in the city limits, attractions can be spread out throughout town and the bus lines are limited unfortunately for this area. I would suggest Uber/Lyft ride service if you are not in possession of a vehicle.
