Delamere, south-west of Manchester, and only 25 minutes from Sandbach (in the car), is a place to let off steam, escape the crowds and find peace in the heart of the forest.
You’ll find easy-going trails for all abilities, a hike to admire the view across to Liverpool’s famous skyline, orienteering courses for all abilities or a bit of peace and quiet to watch the wildlife by the lake. If you would rather get a bird’s eye view of the forest, treat your group to an outdoor adventure at Go Ape! If heights aren’t your thing, we also have Segway hire available.

Described as the ‘Jewel in Congleton’s Crown’ Astbury Mere Country Park is a beautiful area for the enjoyment of local residents and visitors to the historic market town of Congleton.
The Country Park is open from 9:00 until dusk every day of the year, except Christmas Day. Admission is free of charge but car parking charges do apply.
Astbury Water Sports Centre can be found at the park, and offers various water sports from canoeing and kayaking to sailing and raft building.
Astbury Mere is approximately 15 minutes in the car from Sandbach.

Astbury Mere Country Park

The garden features collections of rhododendrons, summer bedding displays, a stunning Dahlia Walk and the oldest surviving golden larch in Britain, brought from China in the 1850s.
