Sightseeing

Drogo Castle was the last castle built in England. Only a mile or two from Monks, the gardens and views are glorious and there is a wonderful circular walk from the carpark at Drogo, along the Hunters Path, down to Fingle Bridge for a splendid Devon cream tea, and back along the River Teign to Drogo. (Approximately 2 hours for the circuit walk). There is also an excellent gift shop and tea room at Drogo.

Great pub

The Ring of Bells pub in North Bovey has been rebuilt with huge care to retain its charm and character after a catastrophic fire. The Ring of Bells offers great food, great beer and a very warm welcome. While you're there - explore North Bovey, with its beautiful village green, granite cottages and the lovely stone bridge.
