Aside from being able to walk cross the street!, the Skunk offers delicious food, (and really good margaritas and drinks in general), a fabulous pub atmosphere and a simple, diverse menu. Reservations are strongly recommended. [in summer, there is outdoor seating with open mic on Wednesdays and a band on Fridays.]

City advice

Getting around

Beautiful drive (and shortcut) to the village of Woodstock

Out the driveway, pass the Skunk Hollow Tavern on your right --- and take your first right up Town Farm Hill Road. This is a 7 mile shortcut into Woodstock and passes a few very beautiful farms. Stay straight. The road eventually turns to pavement and then there's a long down hill that leads you to Route 4. At that stop stay straight and you have entered the town of Woodstock. [Not advisable to take this road if there is snow, ice or it's mud season in March and April.]
What to pack

A few odds and ends...

All of these details, and many more, will be in a guest book that is available in the cottage. - WIFI is fine but there is sketchy cell service. - There are some books available in the front hall to take or swap. - The cottage has radiant floor heating so it should be warm. - There is a brief walk from where you park to the house so you might want to bring an umbrella or rain coat. - For summer months, there are a few plastic chairs you can take to sit on in the brook, for frolicking, reading, cocktail hour, etc. -- so bring a bathing suit or water shoes.
What to pack

The time of year you visit changes what you need to bring.

It is increasingly icy in winter - consider shoes or boots with traction! In the summer, consider water shoes so you can wade in the brook.
