The capital building is beautiful to walk in and around, you can access the upper level and get great views all over the city. It's full of museum type of exhibits and on Saturday mornings you wont want to miss the world famous farmers market around the entire capital square.

State Street is a pedestrian friendly street that connects the capital to the UW campus. It is full of shops and restaurants, keep walking and end up on campus and the student union right on the lake, enjoy a beer!

Baraboo is a 45 minute drive north of Madison. Wisconsin's largest and most popular state park is there, Devil's Lake. It's also home to the Ringling Brothers Circus and has lots of history. Go to the Circus World Museum, walk around the historic downtown, and look at the old houses built by Circus Money in it's hayday.

During the warmer months go see a show in the woods at American Players Theatre, one of the top Shakespeare theatres in the country. Or visit the home of Frank Llyod Wright, rent a canoe or kayak and get on the Wisconsin River and layout on a sandbar! Heaven!
